I'll watch. I don't even remember much of what happened last season.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 3, 2018 11:53 PM |
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 3, 2018 11:55 PM |
I'll watch just because of G. A's sapphic affairs in real life-talk about drama. Also, I like how the show shows how much things have changed from wince it was on to now. It's pretty weird. I should binge watch all of the seasons.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 3, 2018 11:57 PM |
Come on r1, who could forget the crack head tranny from last season?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 3, 2018 11:58 PM |
I'm going to give it a chance. Mulder ain't eyecandy any more.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 4, 2018 12:00 AM |
[quote]Mulder ain't eyecandy any more.
He was SO handsome, and now he truly looks like shit, while Gillian still looks amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 4, 2018 12:03 AM |
R4, I don't remember that. I remember it ended with the outbreak of a plague, I think, and a spaceship over a bridge. The one thing that stands out to me was an episode where Mulder was hanging out in a cemetary for way too long. It just went on and on and on.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 4, 2018 12:04 AM |
While I realize we change with age R6, I think Gillian looks weird. Perhaps plastic surgery weird.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 4, 2018 12:06 AM |
It was the were-monster lizard man episode r7. The scene was hilarious. I don't remember the exact phrasing but it was something like .... tranny prostitute: " they were treating me like I was some crack head tranny" Mulder: " well, are you ?" Tranny: " YEAH". The guy ( is he trans in real life?) who played the prostitute had great comedic timing.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 4, 2018 12:09 AM |
Thanks for the reminder OP!!!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 4, 2018 12:19 AM |
My fave from the original series was S3E4 "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose". Peter Boyle deserved the Emmy he got.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 4, 2018 12:21 AM |
I love that episode r11. The line to mulder about him dying from autoerotic asphyxiation was great. The writers clearly knew about DD sex addictions, there were so many episodes that hinted at mulder's sexual proclivities.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 4, 2018 12:45 AM |
the fan boys on reddit really hated tonight's episode. i found it mostly confusing, but hope it will straighten out... many of this year's episodes are supposed to be monster of the week episodes. those should be fun, fun, fun.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 4, 2018 1:41 AM |
fact that those two are fucking IRL turned me off the series
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 4, 2018 1:48 AM |
When did David lose his looks? After season 9? Luckily he still keeps his bod Hugh Jackmannish.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 4, 2018 2:01 AM |
Why is there a bottle of Angostura bitters on the diner table they are sitting at? Are they at a "Make Your Own Old Fashioned" restaurant or something?

by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 4, 2018 2:31 AM |
IT was ... meh?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 4, 2018 5:14 AM |
Maybe they can find a way to bring back Krycek. Still pissed he's dead. I loved that little rat.
I should google to see if Nick Lea is still hot...
Will Doggett make an appearance this season?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 4, 2018 5:33 AM |
Am I the only one that prefers the "monster of the week" episodes to the "big mythology" episodes?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 4, 2018 5:46 AM |
Oh, did someone say Krycek was DEAD?.... ;-)
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 4, 2018 5:55 AM |
Gillian looks like she is wearing a wig in OP’s link.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 4, 2018 6:05 AM |
My god, what a jumbled, horrid mess of a show that was. It's like Chris Carter forgot why the Xfiles was so popular. It was all about what we didn't see and hints about the future and the conspiracy. Instead, tonight we got a lot of Mulder in voice over explaining shit...and telling us how he feels. It's like they forgot about filmmaking 101 which is show, don't tell. Even the parts with the Alien on the table were absurd. The editing and writing were terrible, the acting horrible, and Ducovny is really hard to look at. Seeing Gillian in her youth in the flashbacks reminded me of why I had a crush on her but now she looks like she needs to eat a burger.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 4, 2018 6:28 AM |
She was so hot in that flashback.
Not a great episode, but I'll keep watching.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 4, 2018 10:42 AM |
I'm with the rest of you on the looks. They were both so beautiful 20 years ago ... I'm the same age as Duchovny and it's really jarring to see his face now. He needs work badly. On the other hand, GA has been pulled a bit too tight, showing how much youthful baby fats she's lost. Her face is *way* too thin. I don't care about them being together anymore, the new series seems to be too dark and hopeless; there's nothing to look foward to.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 4, 2018 11:11 AM |
I don't care about their looks. I do care about the god-awful narration they saddled Duchovny with and the ridiculous car chase sequence. This is -- or wasn't -- that kind of show.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 4, 2018 11:59 AM |
Her hair is too long.
Car chases and no supernatural stuff? Does not sound like the X-Files.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 4, 2018 12:33 PM |
“The X-Files” posted a 1.4 rating in adults 18-49 last night, less than half of its 3.2 average in 2016 (and 0.7 below its weakest outing of last year). “9-1-1” actually improved on its X-Files lead-in and drew a 1.8 — the third-best drama series premiere this season behind “The Orville” (which had an NFL assist for its first episode) and “The Good Doctor.”
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 4, 2018 4:06 PM |
Does it have Chris Carter and the same writing and directing team as the old show?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 4, 2018 4:42 PM |
The show didn't age well. The PTB don't know what to do with it and how to translate it to 2018. All that was beloved is gone. This should be the last hurrah for these guys, let Scully & Mulder bow out with some dignity.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 4, 2018 8:00 PM |
R25 I'm sure Duchovny's already had work done. Not well, obviously. Someone upthread said he looks like a beagle now? Lol. 48yo is not old for a male in Hollywood. Hugh Jackman, Mark Ruffalo, Paul Rudd are still maintained well.
Scully said this is her last season.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 4, 2018 9:56 PM |
[quote]48yo is not old for a male in Hollywood.
Duchovny is 57, soon to be 58
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 4, 2018 11:34 PM |
My bad I thought his actual age was a decade younger! In this case he looks better than his contemporaries like Bono (58 in May), who was also pretty back then.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 4, 2018 11:37 PM |
This year will be 25 years since the X-Files premiered. Doesn't that make you feel old?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 4, 2018 11:43 PM |
I had to have this thing explain to me what the fuck was going on... I had no idea:
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 5, 2018 12:06 AM |
So was the last season just in Scully's head, she dreamt the whole thing? I just don't know with this show anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 5, 2018 12:23 AM |
This is sad.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 5, 2018 1:34 AM |
Premiere sucked, but tonight's episode was amazeballs!
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 11, 2018 2:14 AM |
Barbara Hershey's had some good work done.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 11, 2018 3:47 AM |
Meh. Tonight's episode was meh. It only seemed better compared to the shitty premiere.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 11, 2018 4:16 AM |
That ship has sailed :(
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 11, 2018 8:23 PM |
What I love about the show is Duchovny and Anderson falling right back into their patter after so many years. Their timing with each other is excellent and they play off of each other very well.
Last nights ep was pretty good if not disturbing in visiting the idea of living in a simulation.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 11, 2018 8:27 PM |
Agree 100% on Anderson and Duchovny R43
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 12, 2018 3:22 AM |
Scully and Mulder had sex in tonight's episode! TWICE!!
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 18, 2018 1:58 AM |
Now TONIGHT was a fun episode. Why can't they just do monster-of-the-week episodes like this all season?
Best episode of this season so far. Wish that were saying something.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 18, 2018 2:10 AM |
I was creeped out for a while during the episode. It was sort of like the best friend episode from the first run.
Was the brother also the actress in man-drag?
The lady is from the famous "Home" episode, btw.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 18, 2018 2:21 AM |
Yes, it was one of the most convincing women-as-a-man makup jobs ever.

You also quit watching because the show went off the air!
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 18, 2018 2:51 AM |
Scully's doppelgänger got to watch Scully and Mulder have sex, while we the viewers had to imagine what happened. Not fair.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 18, 2018 4:04 AM |
At first I thought it was going to be the doppelgänger sleeping with Mulder. To me, Scully's "will you hold me?" didn't sound like something the real Scully would say. Kind of weird.
So I guess this means she'll get pregnant...
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 18, 2018 4:49 AM |
New Scully doesn't sound anything like old Scully.
What the fuck is wrong with Andersons's voice?? It cracks and sounds damaged somehow.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 19, 2018 5:37 AM |
Okay, only one third of the way through it, and so far this is the best X-Files ever.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 25, 2018 12:25 AM |
Are they going to put a mic in Anderson’s casket so they can continue to make this show even after the stars have keeled over?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 25, 2018 12:28 AM |
I do like this episode. It's better than I remember it being as a kid.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 25, 2018 12:28 AM |
Easily the best X-Files episode ever. Maybe the best episode of any TV show ever.
At least that's how I'll remember it.
I think.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 25, 2018 1:00 AM |
That wasn't the ending when I saw it in previews last year. I think it wasn't. Was it?
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 25, 2018 1:24 AM |
Going forward, tonight's episode will be a series classic!
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 25, 2018 2:14 AM |
Seriously brilliant.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | January 25, 2018 3:22 AM |
Can I jump right into tonight's episode without having watched anything from this season yet?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 25, 2018 3:33 AM |
Yes, R61. It's a stand-alone episode. It does help if you watched the original series though.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 25, 2018 3:34 AM |
Thanks. I saw most of the original series and all of last season.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 25, 2018 3:35 AM |
R63, this season was off to a terrible start.
But this week's episode is the most amazing and best episode of the series ever.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | January 25, 2018 3:47 AM |
Yes!! This is the X-Files I remember! Last week and this week ROCKED! Makes me want to go back and re-watch all the seasons (which I will do after this season is over because I am bored waiting for GOT).
by Anonymous | reply 65 | January 25, 2018 4:56 AM |
Dammit. I missed tonight's episode. Sounds like it was a blast!
by Anonymous | reply 66 | January 25, 2018 5:08 AM |
It was better than a blast. It was near perfection.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | January 25, 2018 8:36 AM |
When Scully hangs up on Fox while he's telling his story about finding a Bigfoot track made me bust up laughing. She clearly has no patience.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | January 25, 2018 1:24 PM |
Strange! I adored The X Files since the beginning and Darin Morgan episodes were always amazing but this one just didn't feel right somehow. I could see all the elements all of his previous great episodes had but as a whole it didn't work for me. Or maybe I'm just out of love with TXF.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | January 25, 2018 7:07 PM |
NO idea what you're talking about, it was the single best episode of The X-Files ever, R69. Absolutely fucking BRILLIANT commentary on where we are today.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | January 25, 2018 7:15 PM |
Great ep but the highlight for me was Stuart Margolin. I was waiting for him to pop up and honestly I didn't recognize him until he started talking.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | January 25, 2018 7:22 PM |
Why doesn’t Darin Morgan have his own show to run?
The man is brilliant.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | January 25, 2018 7:27 PM |
People still watch this shit. I never knew the nineties made a comeback.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | January 25, 2018 11:18 PM |
R73: Yes, we still watch the show -obviously. Why must people post in threads they claim to not give a shit about?
by Anonymous | reply 74 | January 26, 2018 5:22 AM |
For attention.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | January 26, 2018 7:36 AM |
R73 is still pissed off that Kolchak: The Night Stalker was canceled.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | January 26, 2018 7:13 PM |
Some people just feel compelled to yuck other people's yums. It's a mental illness.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | January 27, 2018 12:08 AM |
Classic! Every bit as good as the best episodes of the original series. Last week was pretty great too, but I always liked these kind of episodes and find all the conspiracy "mythology" shows kind of boring.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | January 27, 2018 1:10 AM |
His face is dogged out, but Duchovny's body is great for 58. Tight bod, toned shoulders, big biceps.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | January 29, 2018 1:16 AM |
I think his face looks pretty good for a guy who's almost 60.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | January 29, 2018 1:32 AM |
Alien dude: "You are free to explore Uranus all you want" - lol ! Great episode, so many thinly veiled references and Easter Eggs (Spotnitz Sanatorium ambulance), absurd camp comedy gold.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | January 29, 2018 2:25 AM |
Agreed, R80.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | January 29, 2018 2:27 AM |
Over the past couple weeks I've been watching random "Monster of the Week"episodes from the first couple of seasons of the X-Files - the first time I've seen them in quite a few years - and omg does David Duchovny look so young to me in those episodes now! And so skinny, too. I didn't remember him looking so young.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | January 29, 2018 2:52 AM |
William/Jackson is a terrible actor. But he looks a tiny bit like Krycek to me. And like Dylan from modern family.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | February 1, 2018 12:55 AM |
That ending was sweet. For a show that should be long past its sell by date, I'm enjoying this season.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | February 1, 2018 1:09 AM |
[quote]William/Jackson is a terrible actor
I have a friend in casting and she says that over the last 10 years the young actors she has to cast have been getting worse every year.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | February 1, 2018 1:17 AM |
News flash to R84 and R86 The X-Files has always had some terrible acting from guest stars, that's part of the charm! Most procedurals do. You go through quite a few actors when you have a new case each week with suspects, family members etc.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | February 1, 2018 1:26 AM |
R87 too many actors today are interested in being actors, not being good actors. And the viewers have to suffer because of that.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | February 1, 2018 1:28 AM |
It was a good episode.
Poor Scully can't be with her baby boy. I wonder if he heard all that she said to him.
Those are pretty powerful abilities he has.
How many episodes are left?
by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 1, 2018 2:24 AM |
William is played by Miles Robbins, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins' son. And yeah, he sucked.
It wasn't a bad episode.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | February 1, 2018 6:57 PM |
R89 we're at the half way point! Five left.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | February 2, 2018 12:26 AM |

I hope they continue to be good.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | February 3, 2018 10:23 PM |

The episode tonight was decidedly meh.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | February 8, 2018 1:17 AM |
Solid episode. Season 11 is a vast improvement over season 10. Looking forward to the remaining episodes.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | February 8, 2018 1:24 AM |
And tonight's ending was classic X-Files
by Anonymous | reply 97 | February 8, 2018 1:25 AM |

What kind of stuff they must have been given in the name of science??
I still hate Scully's voice.

by Anonymous | reply 101 | March 1, 2018 1:42 AM |
R100 your loss. Tonight's episode was a true original and is being praised by the critics as the best episode of either revival season.
R101 Three episodes left!
by Anonymous | reply 102 | March 1, 2018 1:43 AM |
Tonight's episode was awesome. A master class in storytelling with minimal dialog.
A fantastic episode.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | March 1, 2018 2:00 AM |
Will these episodes be releases on DVD? Were last year's episodes released on DVD?
by Anonymous | reply 104 | March 1, 2018 3:04 AM |
This episode scared the hell out of me.
Completely riveting and terrifying.
With minimal dialogue those two were amazing. Their chemistry really is off the charts.
It's kind of sad or deluded or weird that some people were saying it was similar to a black mirror episode, whatever that is.
Back in the day The X Files set the standard for all thing weird and creepy and though-provoking. .
by Anonymous | reply 105 | March 1, 2018 3:43 AM |

Hey, r108 hasn't done anything...
by Anonymous | reply 108 | March 1, 2018 5:08 AM |

R104 the 2016 season (S10) is available on DVD and BluRay, look for X-Files Event Series.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | March 3, 2018 10:51 PM |
Great episode tonight, felt like it could have been plucked straight out of one of the early seasons of the show!
by Anonymous | reply 111 | March 8, 2018 2:05 AM |
Shame abnout Mulder's face. I'm not watching s11, but s2 from the handsome old days. With Krycek there too.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | March 8, 2018 2:12 AM |
Awesome show.
I'm going to miss this show when it's over.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | March 8, 2018 2:25 AM |
That's exactly what I thougt as well, R111.
Like that teacher episode with the beady-eyed sub teacher who ends up being the very devil they worshipped.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | March 8, 2018 2:28 AM |
Didn't she end up getting eated by a snake r114? Maybe it wasn't her, but I think someone did in that episode. Creepy awesome.
by Anonymous | reply 115 | March 8, 2018 2:43 AM |
*eaten. D'oh!
by Anonymous | reply 116 | March 8, 2018 2:44 AM |
Wasn't she the snake?
And eats all the followers? I'm trying to remember more. 😛
by Anonymous | reply 117 | March 8, 2018 2:46 AM |
That sounds right. She slurped up a rat or mouse in the science room, too I believe. I remember the tail in her mouth. Or that is a totally different show. I need to rewatch.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | March 8, 2018 2:53 AM |
What an episode tonight! Every show since the (terrible) premiere has been wonderful. Hoping that Chris Carter doesn't fuck up the finale next week...
by Anonymous | reply 119 | March 15, 2018 1:11 AM |
What a delightfully sick and fucked-up episode! X-Files at its best!
by Anonymous | reply 120 | March 15, 2018 2:20 AM |
So I guess this week's episode is the last X-Files ever?
by Anonymous | reply 121 | March 18, 2018 10:53 PM |
Nobody watched it this time.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | March 18, 2018 11:04 PM |
R121 Gillian will be back if the money is good enough. Which will happen if they can both keep their looks (nip tuckie). Maybe 2020.
by Anonymous | reply 123 | March 19, 2018 1:50 AM |
She's sad categorically she's not coming back.
She's also said she's not doing season two of American Gods.
What is UP with her?
by Anonymous | reply 124 | March 19, 2018 5:33 AM |
this weeks was so campy with the old movie star turned cult leader i loved
by Anonymous | reply 125 | March 19, 2018 5:45 AM |
[quote]What is UP with her?
With American Gods it had to do with Bryan Fuller & Michael Green's exit. She didn't want to continue without them. (And she may not be the only one that feels that way.)
With the X-Files it seemed like she decided personally a long time ago she was done and she said she didn't know why people were shocked that this time she's sticking to it.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | March 19, 2018 6:12 AM |
Could they add a few main characters and continue without Scully (not the same, I know), like they did for a while with Doggett and Reyes?
by Anonymous | reply 127 | March 19, 2018 7:23 AM |
More x-files!! I had no idea!
by Anonymous | reply 128 | March 19, 2018 7:38 PM |
just one more r128 and then the season is over.
or did you mean you just crawled from under your rock and realized that Files was still on the T&V?
by Anonymous | reply 129 | March 19, 2018 8:32 PM |
I want to believe that Chris Carter won't fuck up the finale tonight. But I'm not feeling very confident on that...
by Anonymous | reply 130 | March 21, 2018 10:37 PM |
god no.
ms Anderson is unwatchable. the whole premise is so tired. who watches such tripe?
by Anonymous | reply 131 | March 22, 2018 12:46 AM |
It was at best underwhelming. NOTHING is resolved in any way. Very disappointing. But then all the 'mythology' episodes in this return have been.
The stand alone episodes have been excellent.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | March 22, 2018 1:34 AM |
Just what the hell happened--or didn't--in tonight's episode...??!?
by Anonymous | reply 133 | March 22, 2018 1:48 AM |
Honestly, R133. I couldn't tell you. And I watched the whole thing. Nothing really happened as far as I can tell.
by Anonymous | reply 134 | March 22, 2018 1:54 AM |
Yes, narratively the finale was a mess, but it was also a lot of fun! And we got some closure. Basically everyone died except for Mulder and Scully who got a happy ending! lol
by Anonymous | reply 135 | March 22, 2018 2:58 AM |
What happy ending? THey thought their son was just murdered.
Seriously, NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENED.
There was zero closure, there was zero resolution to ANY of the plotlines... and it was so FRUSTRATING when Mulder and Scully weren't LISTENING to each other. Ugh.

R136 at least they survived! The same can't be said for Reyes, Skinner and the Smoking Man. And they can finally have a normal kid of their own! Then again Scully is 54...

Also, poor Barbara Hershey. Talk about being wasted. Hope she was paid well...

The bodies-explode-in-the-motel-room scene was awesome.
But that was the only decent thing about the episode.
Okay, the trucker scene was good too.

So if they're out of the bureau, then they can have their baby in relative peace and quiet.
Well, R136, the only important thing in this series, lo these many years, have been Mulder and Scully, so technically, they're forced to retire, Dana is a doctor and they can live a normal life. Everybody they knew in whatever capacity is dead and hopefully gone, so they can disappear and live their lives together.
That's what I chose to make of it.

Skinner died??? Nooooooooo!!

More than likely, nobody bothered to check up on him so he was still trapped under the cars.

The "mythology" episodes are just the worst. They just should drop those completely.
The monster-of-the-week stand-alone episodes are always great. They should just do those.
If, that is, they ever decide to do more.

I don't think skinner died. He dove under the car before Reyes hit him I thought. (why didn't he go for the stairs or run to the side, though? Diving under a car was stupid). We didn't see his body. Or did we? I admit I wasn't paying the best attention.
This episode had like 10 minutes of William running and people chasing him. I'm over him. He's kind of a jerk. It's understandable- he's a teenager who has seen some shit, but still, I don't like him. Hopefully their new baby will be better. Hope it's a girl.
CSM being William's father was gross. That makes him Mulder's half brother, not son. Twisted!
