Bryan Singer Accused of Rape

The other shoe drops

by Anonymousreply 600Yesterday at 6:43 AM

The suit claims Singer offered to take Guzman, who was 17 at the time, on a tour of the yacht. When they got to one of the rooms, the suit alleges Singer thrust his body on Guzman, forced him to the floor, shoved Guzman's face against his crotch and demanded he perform oral sex.

The suit claims Singer pulled out his penis, smacked Guzman in the face with it and forced it into his mouth. Guzman claims he pleaded with Singer to stop, but he kept going ... causing him to choke.

The suit goes on to allege Singer then forcibly performed oral sex on Guzman. Guzman says he again pleaded with Singer to stop, to no avail. He says Singer then forcibly anally penetrated him, all while ignoring Guzman's pleas.

by Anonymousreply 1Last Thursday at 3:22 PM

finally!

by Anonymousreply 2Last Thursday at 3:24 PM

You want fame, Guzman? Well fame costs. And right here is where you start paying.

In CUM!

by Anonymousreply 3Last Thursday at 3:24 PM

Such deviance.

Photo of said victim?

by Anonymousreply 6Last Thursday at 3:25 PM

Unbelievable, and the Datalounge knew about Singer ages ago!

by Anonymousreply 7Last Thursday at 3:25 PM

What a thing to happen to my poor Bry-Bry while he's taking such good care of me!

* koff koff *

by Anonymousreply 8Last Thursday at 3:26 PM

Well, Singer always did like the brown ones.

by Anonymousreply 9Last Thursday at 3:26 PM

It's here!

by Anonymousreply 10Last Thursday at 3:26 PM

r1 🔥🔥🔥

by Anonymousreply 11Last Thursday at 3:27 PM

Is this for real??

It's finally going down just like Guzman?

by Anonymousreply 12Last Thursday at 3:27 PM

so can't we all come to the conclusion that he raped brad renfro?

by Anonymousreply 13Last Thursday at 3:27 PM

So how is it that Singer got away with this so long? I've read more here about Singer as predator than about anyone else.

by Anonymousreply 14Last Thursday at 3:27 PM

So much for the I had to leave town fast to take care of my sickly parent story. I totally believed him.

by Anonymousreply 15Last Thursday at 3:28 PM

This guy has like 5000 shoes.

by Anonymousreply 16Last Thursday at 3:28 PM

Where is Singer now?

by Anonymousreply 17Last Thursday at 3:28 PM

To get to the top in Los Angeles, you have to be a psychopath.

by Anonymousreply 18Last Thursday at 3:28 PM

Call Me By Your Name!

by Anonymousreply 19Last Thursday at 3:29 PM

There's going to be a lot coming out about a lot of Hollywooders!

by Anonymousreply 20Last Thursday at 3:29 PM

r15 I don't believe these things are related. From what I read, Singer is known to go MIA in the movies he works in.

by Anonymousreply 21Last Thursday at 3:30 PM
Where is Singer now?

It’s been reported that he’s missing. No one knows where he is.

by Anonymousreply 22Last Thursday at 3:30 PM

Is he going to assume another form?

by Anonymousreply 23Last Thursday at 3:31 PM

I literally watched Brad go from a happy kid to a miserable self loathing addict in 6 years. I don't think Singer was alone in destroying him though.

Will Joel Schumacher be next? That will help settle the bill which is long past due.

by Anonymousreply 25Last Thursday at 3:32 PM

What a shame that the poor man has to face these accusations while he takes care of his sick parent. I hope that he finds strength in his faith in the Lord.

by Anonymousreply 26Last Thursday at 3:33 PM

If someone wants to show you his yacht, I think anyone who uses his brain will answer no. Don't these victims have no functioning self-preservation instinct?

That process started before Singer got into the picture. Someone else from the waltmousestudio movie he was in died the same way he did recently.

by Anonymousreply 31Last Thursday at 3:36 PM

17 year olds are dumb as hell number 27.

by Anonymousreply 32Last Thursday at 3:36 PM

r30 I am aware. I'm just saying it's normal for him to go missing when he's making a film. He got trounced for it this time because his capital has been eroding for a while.

by Anonymousreply 33Last Thursday at 3:38 PM

Woah, this is huge ....he is a top?

by Anonymousreply 34Last Thursday at 3:38 PM

Maybe the 17 yo knew that Bryan wanted sex, but didn't expect him to go all 50 Shades of Gray as soon as he closed that door. It's still rape.

by Anonymousreply 35Last Thursday at 3:39 PM

by Anonymousreply 40Last Thursday at 3:42 PM

R36, this is going to turn into a Bill Cosby situation. There will be numerous boys/men coming forward.

by Anonymousreply 41Last Thursday at 3:42 PM

Do people really believe this Spielberg crap?

by Anonymousreply 42Last Thursday at 3:42 PM

The most shocking revelation here is that Singer would be a top.

by Anonymousreply 43Last Thursday at 3:42 PM

DL has had Bryan Singer on the abuse radar forever. I wonder if any news outlet would ever comb through our old threads for stories.

We also solved the mystery of the soft butch sous chef killer.

What can’t we do?

by Anonymousreply 44Last Thursday at 3:43 PM

So was it just the kid and Singer on the yacht? Or was it one of those "party" yachts and we'll be hearing many more names?

by Anonymousreply 46Last Thursday at 3:44 PM

He won't need to prove anything. This has opened a floodgate.

Singer is DONE.

And Dark Phoenix is in post-production. I wonder how 20th Century Fox will handle that.

by Anonymousreply 47Last Thursday at 3:44 PM
Do people really believe this Spielberg crap?

Well, no women will ever accuse Spielberg of sexual harassment that's for sure
I wonder if any news outlet would ever comb through our old threads for stories.

Speaking of which, anyone seen Jerry Supiran lately?

by Anonymousreply 49Last Thursday at 3:45 PM

Singer is only an EP on Dark Phoenix and his production company has already been kicked off the Fox studio lot.

He may lose his EP credit. Doesn’t really matter, Disney is getting the X-verse.

by Anonymousreply 50Last Thursday at 3:46 PM

r48 No man/boy has either, though?

by Anonymousreply 51Last Thursday at 3:47 PM

I definitely want to hear more about this subject. All these PDs need to be investigated. But by who? The FBI seems to have problems in this area as well.

Patricia MacDowell‏ @BreakfastvFilms 3m3 minutes ago Replying to @Variety

He reported the rape when it happened. Just to be clear, it was made to the authorities, but it fell on deaf ears. So maybe, just maybe, there should also be an investigation as to why it was ignored by the LA police?

by Anonymousreply 52Last Thursday at 3:47 PM

Spielberg is not in any trouble. But a lot of other people like Singer's buddy Emmerich are probably applying for dual citizenship.

by Anonymousreply 53Last Thursday at 3:47 PM

R1, that is straight up rape!

by Anonymousreply 54Last Thursday at 3:47 PM

R24 were you a friend of Renfro's, or do you mean you watched him through media etc? Just asking because he was a major crush for me and I wondered about him for years, until I found DL and read about the misery of his life. So tragic, a real talent.

Daily Mail:

Bryan Singer is being sued for allegedly forcing a 17-year-old boy to perform oral sex on him and then raping him during a yacht party in 2003.

The X-Men director strenuously denies all the claims, TMZ reports.

The lawsuit, filed by Cesar Sanchez-Guzman's attorney, alleges that Singer was at a party, with young gay men, on tech investor Lester Waters' yacht in Seattle in 2003.

by Anonymousreply 69Last Thursday at 3:58 PM

An actor who plyas one of the X-Men told me (without naming names, but it was obvious who he was talking about because of his connection with the franchise) that the rumors about Singer preying on young men were true, and that he hated the fact that he had to keep silent about it. It had really disenchanted him with Hollywood in general. I don't think he was victimzed himself, but apprently he witnessed lots of stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes public now.

Here's info on the lawyer bringing the case against Singer:
This is also not the first time HermanLaw and Bryan Singer have encountered each other. Jeff Herman was Egan’s lawyer against Singer and others in 2014. The lawyer, who is currently taking on The Weinstein Company in a $5 million suit over Harvey Weinstein’s ” sexual misconduct,” ended up dropping Egan as a client as the case became thinner and thinner. The Miami based attorney eventually apologized to Singer and others named in the matter.
“Based on what I know now, I believe that I participated in making what I now know to be untrue and proveably false allegations against you,” Herman wrote in a 2015 letter to producer Garth Ancier, ex-Disney exec David Neuman and Singer. “Had I known what I learned after filing the lawsuits, I would never have filed these claims against you. I deeply regret the pain, suffering and damages the lawsuits and publicity have caused you, and your family, friends, and colleagues.” A payment over a million dollars was also sent by Herman.

I wish someone else was representing this new claim.

Those pretty female teachers who get it on with male students often have plenty of victims.

And sex offenders in general DON'T re-offend often. Says the NYTIMES:
Nearly every study — including those by states as diverse as Alaska, Nebraska, Maine, New York and California — as well as an extremely broad one by the federal government that followed every offender released in the United States for three years, has put the three-year recidivism rate for convicted sex offenders in the low single digits, with the bulk of the results clustering around 3.5 percent.

So get another excuse.

And the find that women get lower penalties after controlling for factors such as coercion.

"And sex offenders in general DON'T re-offend often."

True, but female offenders re-offend even less than male ones

"Those pretty female teachers who get it on with male students often have plenty of victims."

On average female offenders have fewer victims than male ones. They are also much less likely to offend against prepubescent children.

by Anonymousreply 117Last Thursday at 4:33 PM

Is this him?

by Anonymousreply 118Last Thursday at 4:34 PM
On average female offenders have fewer victims than male ones. They are also much less likely to offend against prepubescent children.

So? They're still sex offenders.

by Anonymousreply 119Last Thursday at 4:35 PM

"So? They're still sex offenders."

Uh, offenders are sentenced according to the number of victims they have and the age of the victims. That's why it matters.

by Anonymousreply 120Last Thursday at 4:37 PM
True, but female offenders re-offend even less than male ones

This is irrelevant, sweetheart. Male offenders re-offend at a 3.5% rate. Let's say the average female offender re-offends at 1%. Would people, even judges, notice the difference between such small rates? Likely no. Should 96.5% of male offenders who won't re-offend get a much higher penalty than the female offenders based on such a minor difference? Definitely not.

Female offenders benefit from bias. This goes not just for sex crimes but all manner of illegal behavior. Women ARE privileged in the justice system. Weinstein, Singer, etc., benefit from rich privilege, I suppose, but from male privilege they do not, because there's no such thing in the justice system. There's the opposite, female privilege.

And btw, I can tell you're not really up to debate with me because you have your data all wrong. Female child sex offenders aren't less likely to offend against prepubescent children. It's precisely the opposite, they're more likely to target extremely young children.

Quit inventing data to fit your narrative.

by Anonymousreply 121Last Thursday at 4:38 PM

Not always, r120 the depravity of the crime plays a big role.

by Anonymousreply 122Last Thursday at 4:39 PM

[R31] who? And Brad died quite heavy.

by Anonymousreply 123Last Thursday at 4:40 PM

"Let's say the average female offender re-offends at 1%. Would people, even judges, notice the difference between such small rates? Likely no"

Actually, the rate is less than 1%.

"And btw, I can tell you're not really up to debate with me because you have your data all wrong. Female child sex offenders aren't less likely to offend against prepubescent children. It's precisely the opposite, they're more likely to target extremely young children."

You are the one who admitted you didn't know about recidivism rates for female sex offenders. And, no, they aren't more likely to target extremely young children, either.

"Women ARE privileged in the justice system."

So are Caucasians but I don't see you going on and on about that.

by Anonymousreply 124Last Thursday at 4:41 PM

To corroborate what I said at r121, here's a reference:
The nature of female sex offenses differed dramatically from male sex offenses. [bold]For instance, with regard to victim age, female offenders were more likely to victimize younger children than male offenders.[/bold]

So, on at least one measure -- victim age -- female sex offenders are actually worse than male sex offenders. Yet they get treated more gently and people like r124 defend them.

by Anonymousreply 125Last Thursday at 4:44 PM
So are Caucasians but I don't see you going on and on about that.

by Anonymousreply 130Last Thursday at 4:47 PM
Actually, the rate is less than 1%.

Your reference?
You are the one who admitted you didn't know about recidivism rates for female sex offenders. And, no, they aren't more likely to target extremely young children, either.

And you didn't know that 96.5% of male offenders don't re-offend despite making a lot of noise about how much worse they are at re-offending than female offenders. Let's suppose that 100% of female offenders don't re-offend (which is not true). It would still be the case that, with an extremely small re-offending rate, 3.5%, male and female offenders are more similar than different. And therefore the female privilege of getting lower penalties for equal crimes remains unjustified.
And, no, they aren't more likely to target extremely young children, either.

Yes, they are, as I showed at r125. The fact you deny this so cheekily only goes to show you don't have any data and you're not approaching this discussion with honesty.
So are Caucasians but I don't see you going on and on about that.

You're an imbecile. We're discussing female privilege at the justice system because you went attacking "male privilege" first. No one made this about race. YOU made this about gender.

by Anonymousreply 151Last Thursday at 5:02 PM

Regarding Renfro, I remember hearing a rumor at the time (not sure if I read this on the datalounge or elsewhere) that Renfro only got the role in Apt Pupil after agreeing to go on a "vacation" with Singer

Not gonna defend Ian McKellan but people always say Singer is friends with people without much evidence of that. They worked together once. I’ve not seen them together since. Ian could certainly be a creep but we need actual information to conclude that.

by Anonymousreply 164Last Thursday at 5:28 PM

I never understand how grown ass people, gay or srraight, man or woman go after young kids, and I know some on here will question my using of the word kid. Go for people your own age. These "people" are disgusting, and how they can live on knowing what they've done to others baffles me.

Singer was the director on the film "Apt Pupil" that starred McKellan

by Anonymousreply 188Last Thursday at 5:48 PM

He can tell that to a jury of his peers.

by Anonymousreply 189Last Thursday at 5:48 PM

r181 here. I do not work in the business but the friend I was with is an agent and that's how we ended up sitting with them. Singer couldn't focus on anything but boy watching. It was really odd. Whereas McKellan actually held an interesting conversation, made jokes and smoked like a chimney. I completely ignored Singer after I realized that he was like a child with serious ADHD who could only focus on the next cute piece of ass to walk by.

A rep for singer says this about Cesar:
'Cesar Sanchez-Guzman apparently claims that he did not remember this alleged incident from 2003 until now. Significantly, when Sanchez-Guzman filed for bankruptcy only a few years ago, he failed to disclose this alleged claim when he was supposed to identify all of his assets, but conveniently, now that the bankruptcy court discharged all of his debts, he is able to recall the alleged events.'
Herman previously represented Michael Egan, who accused Singer and other Hollywood figures of sexual assault in 2014, only to later withdraw the claims. He was sentenced to two years in jail in connection with a fraudulent investment scheme in 2015.

True, but even if this does turn out to be a bogus claim, it still may bring Singer down because now his life is going to be investigated from one end to the other, potentially opening the door for all kinds of other shit to come out that might otherwise have never seen the light of day.

You're all mean to me, and as I wrote, I am TOTALLY IMPARTIAL!! (That's with TWO exclamation points!!)

by Anonymousreply 243Last Thursday at 7:36 PM

Okay here's my story. I was an actor in a Broadway show. I was 25 but looked younger. I was picked up at opening night party by Gary Goddard. He offered to help my career. A few weeks later, I took him up on offer to take me to Lakers game me on my off night. He flew me to LA and took me to the X Men set which was in reshoots. I got to meet Halle Berry and Bryan Singer. At the end of the night, I figured Gary wanted sex but after some time in his hot tub (no sex or touching), I went to bed in his guest room. The next day I flew back to NYC. When X Men opened just a few months later, Bryan and Gary picked me up in a stretch limo after my performance and we went around to movie theaters to watch people applaud after screenings when Singer's name appeared on screen. Eventually we met up with Famke J, James M, Tom DeSanto and Ian McKellan. I became in charge of where we'd go to party. I for was on my phone finding restaurants and bars for us to hang out at. At the end of the night, we went to a newsstand and picked up all the papers. We went to his hotel rooms and I read all the reviews to him. This was all very exciting. And the reviews said Hugh Jackman was now a star. I've never met him though. Then a few days later, Gary brought Bryan to see me in my show. I never got a job from him and I was never propositioned for sex. And I was pretty cute! Maybe just a little too old and self-assured though. Over the coming months, I'd continue to hang with Goddard, Singer, and McKellan whenever they were in town. I was never abused and never saw anyone else abused. One night, we did go to a night club where Tom and Bryan cruised for young guys but they weren't underaged. They just LOOKED young. Once I had to spend the night at Gary's while passing through town and while I was there, his house was filled with young guys. As for Ancier, I went to Palm Springs with him and some friends when I became more famous. I was now 30. I liked Ancier a lot and he made no moves on me. Seemed like an upstanding good guy. I've had dinner with him and been to his places in LA and NYC and had a great time with him. The Egan suit really upset him. I think he's innocent. Meanwhile, the 7 year old son of a friend was approached by Gary at a box store and they're friends now. I told the boy's mother to be careful. Nothing bad has happened. There you go. Some real firsthand gossip.

by Anonymousreply 244Last Thursday at 7:41 PM

WTF? How do you function in life with so few brain cells? No normal grown man becomes "friends" with a 7 year old. You should have called the cops.

And the reason your pervy friends didn't molest you was because you were, at 25 y/o, ancient by their pedo standards, even if you looked young. They had zero sexual interest in you. Their victims are late teens who look 12. JFC. You really don't get that?

by Anonymousreply 256Last Thursday at 9:35 PM

FROM 1997:

April 16 was not a good day for director Bryan Singer. On his way to the Sherman Oaks, Calif., set of Apt Pupil, his first film since The Usual Suspects, he got a flat tire on the Pacific Coast Highway. He dragged himself through a long shooting day while suffering from the flu and didn’t take a break until 6 p.m. And when he sat down to dinner with screenwriter Brandon Boyce, a crew member whispered some very bad news in his ear: A 14-year-old extra named Devin St. Albin had filed a lawsuit claiming that the filmmakers had ordered him and other minors to strip for a scene that was shot in the showers of a school locker room.

by Anonymousreply 263Last Friday at 12:30 AM

He probably feels entitled. I kind of felt like that once I had enough disposable income to pay for sex. I felt like I was entitled to it anytime, anywhere, that the service providers should be grateful to me.

I can’t imagine the feeling of power you get from providing employment to Nick Hoult, Ben Hardy, and other beautiful young men.

by Anonymousreply 264Last Friday at 12:57 AM

I remember Singer and DeSantos saying they couldn't wait to "cast" X-Men 2. I thought Tom was hot. Seeing his name in the St Albin story gave me chills. Is Gary Goddard really a registered sex offender?

by Anonymousreply 265Last Friday at 1:11 AM

The reason why I have trouble believe this first salve of new accusations is that the boy was 17. Unless he looked like an infant at 17 I don't think Singer was interested in this particular fella.

by Anonymousreply 290Last Friday at 4:38 AM

It's all here, Mr Lawyer.

They need to cherchez la Tommy Johnson and la Wayne Castro. They groomed and pimped young guys from Tigerheat in WeHo for Bryanna. And the Entin twins. Lock them up!

by Anonymousreply 291Last Friday at 4:43 AM

Anon poster on WeHo Confidential from years ago
Bryan Singer is a predator! He preys on young boys and offers them money, status, good time, and fame in exchange for sex and to do with whatever Bryan wants them to do. It's a pathetic existence. It's harming these poor boys even if they want to be bought by Bryan. Just because boys want to be taken advantage of doesn't mean it's okay to take advantage of them. When Bryan gets bored of them or hotter boys come on the scene, he will discard them like a used tissue. What's more sad is that Bryan Singer's paid entourage is used to justify his fucked up ways and suck up to him. If Bryan Singer wasn't a famous Director and had very little money, no one would want to be around him and he would be in jail.

by Anonymousreply 292Last Friday at 4:44 AM

Hold on, the fat dude from Head of the Class is the Nickelodeon molester?

by Anonymousreply 293Last Friday at 4:44 AM

Bye bye Bry Bry

by Anonymousreply 294Last Friday at 4:45 AM

Then 18 year old 'assistant' to Singer, Steven Roberts, at his birthday party. Nice of Dame John to turn up.

by Anonymousreply 295Last Friday at 4:48 AM

Do people not realize that latinos can be white too? Bryan loves white twinks wouldn't be surprised if this Guzman is a white latino. LA has more white latinos than brown ones everywhere you look.

by Anonymousreply 296Last Friday at 4:55 AM

Looking at this video he seems to be heavily drugged

by Anonymousreply 297Last Friday at 5:04 AM

It was a seduction

by Anonymousreply 298Last Friday at 5:22 AM

On the TMZ video he's playing the "retard defense". Is this douche special? He sounds mentally challenged.

by Anonymousreply 299Last Friday at 5:25 AM

He’s xanaxed to the gills in that video. The walls are closing in.

by Anonymousreply 300Last Friday at 5:27 AM

I want to know more a out these fucked up Entin twins!! I cant find much on the net! They are so gross. So fucking gross.

by Anonymousreply 301Last Friday at 5:46 AM

I really don't get everybody going finally.

Singer has had rape charges against him before. This is not the first time this has happened. This exact same lawyer brought rape charges against Singer before.

by Anonymousreply 302Last Friday at 6:06 AM

Thoughts and prayers.

by Anonymousreply 303Last Friday at 6:09 AM

R44, they comb through DL REGULARLY.

by Anonymousreply 304Last Friday at 6:11 AM

In that interview he calls Gabriel Byrne a liar for saying The Usual Suspects was shut down because of Spacey's misconduct

by Anonymousreply 305Last Friday at 6:12 AM

Any 50 year old man that makes a point of carding his conquests before sex needs to have a word with himself.

by Anonymousreply 306Last Friday at 6:16 AM

JC Chasez should have had the career of bandmate Justin Timberlake, he has a better voice.

But his career fizzled.

by Anonymousreply 307Last Friday at 6:16 AM

Odd that TMZ "found" Singer in LA to interview him; given he apparently has a deeply ill parent in New Jersey you'd think he'd be there with them. Instead he's out in WeHo to grab a burger.

by Anonymousreply 308Last Friday at 6:17 AM

r305 He who and what interview?

by Anonymousreply 309Last Friday at 6:19 AM

So is he going to tell the REAL story of why production was shut down on The Usual Suspects?

by Anonymousreply 310Last Friday at 6:19 AM

R308 You can bet Harvey Levin has been to some of Singer's pool parties too...

by Anonymousreply 311Last Friday at 6:19 AM
They were everywhere for years saying he carded twinks etc., now they’ve disappeared. Guess protecting a pedo is embarrassing finally.

That is what goes on at Singer's parties. Twinks are carded, and the sex is consensual.

R309 see R286

by Anonymousreply 313Last Friday at 6:20 AM

He caught Kevin Spacey fooling around with his boytoy and went ballistic.
Maybe he's staying with that equally nice Podwall fellow I've also heard so much about here over the years.

What's Podwall's deal??

by Anonymousreply 315Last Friday at 6:26 AM

I wonder what is Podwall's deal as well. We know he loves taking closet cases and keeping them under this thumb. Colton Haynes end up firing him and hating him for how much he tried to control his image.

by Anonymousreply 316Last Friday at 6:30 AM

R221

>> Gary Goddard was the one who has been accused of teaching Singer to groom kids. > I loved him in Lost in Space.

Mark Goddard played Major West in Lost in Space, not Gary Goddard.

by Anonymousreply 317Last Friday at 6:31 AM

R65, thanks for making me LOL. Yes, this is a serious subject matter, & I’m personally VERY pleased that Singer is FINALLY going down, especially since I’ve personally been privy to his predatory behavior for years, but that was funny.

I’ve posted in detail about the shit I witnessed regarding Singer & Company here before. I was met with disdain, rebuke, and outrage by some. Curiously, the threads in which I posted in detail regarding him and his predator posse, mysteriously disappeared, repeatedly. Singer rarely acted alone. There were always others involved in his shenanigans. It was always a group effort.

I hope they ALL get named, and go down.

Gay Hollywood big wigs have all been collectively shitting their pants for over a year, being that many knew that Weinstein’s day of reckoning was coming down the pike.

by Anonymousreply 318Last Friday at 6:34 AM
Colton Haynes end up firing him and hating him for how much he tried to control his image.

I'm starting to wonder if there was more to it........?

by Anonymousreply 319Last Friday at 6:35 AM
Instead he's out in WeHo to grab a burger.

By 'burger' you presumably mean 'a 17 year old'

by Anonymousreply 320Last Friday at 6:37 AM

I wish you people understood that this could destroy his Hollywood career but there is no way he is going to jail over it. He will still have his millions to keep renting jailbait twink escorts.

by Anonymousreply 321Last Friday at 6:40 AM

Revolted by the lot of them

I am particularly mad as a gay man. Predatory fuckwads.

Can I beat them? I think it would be therapeutic.

by Anonymousreply 322Last Friday at 6:41 AM
That is what goes on at Singer's parties. Twinks are carded, and the sex is consensual.

I can totally believe that Singer has been very careful since the original rape accusation in 2014, and that he may have done nothing illegal (other then the usual Hollywood drug stuff) since then.

But the problem is: people are now being held accountable for what they did 10, 20, 30 or more years ago. Ask Kevin Spacey, the actor who is currently being erased from one of his films, about that.

I wouldn't want to wager one cent that Singer has been operating in responsible, legal way for the last 20 or so years. He may have been, but I wouldn't bet on it based on 1) the company of predators he keeps and 2) where there is smoke there is fire.

So now he's carding twinks to make sure they are of legal age, but he wants them to look as underage as possible. I can see where this predilection could cause major problems in the present/past.

And here we are.

by Anonymousreply 323Last Friday at 6:42 AM

The most shocking thing is that he is an aggressive top. Almost all gay males in the entertainment industry are bottoms.

by Anonymousreply 324Last Friday at 6:43 AM

He’s a bottom, r324. I think he becomes an aggressive top only under very specific circumstances, like, I dunno, maybe when those circumstances are non-consensual, and quickly escalate into rape, perhaps?

by Anonymousreply 325Last Friday at 6:48 AM

We're appalled by this disgusting pedophilia (and search for it everywhere)!!!

by Anonymousreply 326Last Friday at 6:50 AM

R325 I guess drugs like coke would also make him more agressive. Certainly in a rape it would be easier to operate as a top than as a bottom.

by Anonymousreply 327Last Friday at 6:51 AM

Oh do fuck off, r326. I can only speak for myself, but I do not give a flying fuck if singer or all of Hollywood want to fuck teens the minute they turn 18, if it’s consensual.

Singer and crew are fucking predators. Rape is rape, regardless of age.

by Anonymousreply 328Last Friday at 6:57 AM

r324, maybe he becomes an aggressive top when he's with someone who's smaller than him and appears as though they wouldn't be able to defend themselves.

by Anonymousreply 329Last Friday at 6:58 AM

R280 This tweet from them makes me think it's more about Singer. They've said it's not Franco or Travolta, so can rule them out.
We said it wasn't about the Wrap story (the lawsuit). We didnt say anything about whom the story today was, or was not, about.

In other tweets they've said they won't be the ones actually publishing the story so can't give an exact time for it to be published, but they did say it should be today.

by Anonymousreply 330Last Friday at 6:59 AM

No, I mean Singer loves the slight twinks and I know for a fact he normally bottoms.

Of course that doesn't mean he never tops though.

by Anonymousreply 331Last Friday at 7:06 AM

Yikes I would need lots of viagra and porn playing to top that Creepy McCreepster.

by Anonymousreply 332Last Friday at 7:12 AM

Oh wait all my debts are discharged? BTW I remember being raped by a rich dude. Any chance that attorney who specialists in false and salacious prosecution will take my case? It had to be rape because I was above the age of consent. Now if I get a settlement I don't have to pay the people I owed money to, screw them.

by Anonymousreply 333Last Friday at 7:17 AM

Lots of Hollywood insiders on this thread!

And by 'insider' it sounds like you've been inside Bri's bedroom.

by Anonymousreply 334Last Friday at 7:18 AM

The Entin twins have always led deeply spiritual lives. They should be left alone.

by Anonymousreply 335Last Friday at 7:21 AM

Every time I go to a party and Bry Bry's name comes up, some cute young guy has a story about an indecent proposal. Sometimes VERY cute.

by Anonymousreply 336Last Friday at 7:21 AM

r336 That's because Mr Singer probably chooses according to who he'll have the most mutually fulfilling sensual experience with.

by Anonymousreply 337Last Friday at 7:27 AM
But the problem is: people are now being held accountable for what they did 10, 20, 30 or more years ago. Ask Kevin Spacey, the actor who is currently being erased from one of his films, about that.

Spacey is also being held accountable for behavior onthe HoC set that happened in the last few years.

by Anonymousreply 340Last Friday at 7:33 AM

r341 It's just that. Combined with a bit of mean-spiritedness and homophobia from some users.

by Anonymousreply 342Last Friday at 7:39 AM

Yet again, DL has been on the case for years. Well done guys!

by Anonymousreply 343Last Friday at 7:41 AM
On average female offenders have fewer victims than male ones. They are also much less likely to offend against prepubescent children.

And once, idiot parents, all of you, all of you that have children, start raising "people" instead of "boys and girls" then it will stop. It won't stop until people stop directing children into two different streams of child rearing based on sex after those children are born.

Stop raising child molesters and rapists. Raise men like they're people, like women are raised, not like they're "men" who have to take what they want, walk it off, never think and above all else, win the contest, because the "best man has to win". What do you expect?

Stupidity.

by Anonymousreply 349Last Friday at 7:50 AM

by Anonymousreply 352Last Friday at 8:20 AM

The Open Secret Twitter has an Enty tweet commenting on Singer's TMZ interview and speculating on who may be his puppet master. I can't post a link on mobile, maybe someone can.

by Anonymousreply 353Last Friday at 9:08 AM

S!NG3R ---> L3VlN ---> G3FF3N

by Anonymousreply 354Last Friday at 9:23 AM

R353, which tweet did enty comment on?

by Anonymousreply 357Last Friday at 9:31 AM

Gotta love the off-topic MRA guys going on and on about female offenders in a thread about yet another male offender

by Anonymousreply 358Last Friday at 9:40 AM

They might just not want to steal someone elses story and publish it first, r357.

Singer is scum with an unfortunate face but the story at OP sounds off. Hope this gets other victims talking though.

by Anonymousreply 359Last Friday at 9:46 AM

R357, shouldn't you be getting ready for your N AM B L A mtg?

An Open Secret is a documentary that everyone should watch. The story will be broken by PRINT journalists.

by Anonymousreply 361Last Friday at 9:50 AM

Singer talking to TMZ

by Anonymousreply 362Last Friday at 10:16 AM

That interview looked staged.

by Anonymousreply 363Last Friday at 10:17 AM

R363, agreed. A theory out there claims this new accuser is actually being paid off to lie. By this resulting in a false accusation, it keeps the heat off Singer and other powerful man who he’d take down.

by Anonymousreply 364Last Friday at 10:20 AM

Law & Order SVU did an episode RIPPED FROM THE HEADLINES based on gossip surrounding Bryan Singer parties. But made the director straight, and the twink a woman. See link

by Anonymousreply 365Last Friday at 10:20 AM
So Open Secret's tagline "Be courageous. Report it. It gets better" just applies to others and not them.

Are they intentionally trying to bait Dan Savage with that tag line?

by Anonymousreply 366Last Friday at 10:25 AM

That TMZ Video? That thing is staged harder than Chip and Joanna Gaines weekly fixer uppers

by Anonymousreply 367Last Friday at 10:34 AM

I see the freeper CUNTS and Pizzagate believers are loving this. Wonderful.

by Anonymousreply 368Last Friday at 10:37 AM

TMZ looked staged, this is the first time I have ever heard Bryan Singer's voice.

by Anonymousreply 369Last Friday at 10:39 AM

Leste Waters is a notorious predator who was previously based in Seattle from the 1980s to the later 2000 when he moved to London. He was an early Microsoft employee who cashed out at the right time. In Seattle he was known ubiquitously as Lester the Molester. He maintained a large home on Capitol Hill which served as a place to collect and groom his flock, most of whom would be aged out once they hit 18. He was notorious for this, his parties and the yacht he maintained on Lake Washington. He was clearly a key person in procuring in Seattle previously and London more recently.

I know all of this from caring for victims over the years. His Facebook page was wiped in the last several days because it essentially served as a map of his conquests and connections. Along with the rest of his social graph.

Here’s hoping he ends up burning in hell along with the rest of them.

by Anonymousreply 370Last Friday at 10:43 AM

A network of pedophiles would be more hard to break as opposed to one lone predator. It's like their protecting each other and there are connections higher up with more money, more power. This is why the LAPD did nothing.

by Anonymousreply 371Last Friday at 11:07 AM

The Franklin Cover Up did a good job laying out how all layers are compromised.

For ex, off duty LAPD purportedly checked ids at the parties. It's very dangerous to go against other cops, see recent story out of Baltimore. So that becomes one level of insulation.

by Anonymousreply 372Last Friday at 11:12 AM

So if the TMZ interview was staged for Bryan Singer's benefit, does that mean Harvey Levin is complicit?

by Anonymousreply 373Last Friday at 11:16 AM

Bryan seemed like a narcissist in the TMZ interview

by Anonymousreply 374Last Friday at 11:42 AM

There’s a blind item out there alleging as much r373.

by Anonymousreply 375Last Friday at 11:52 AM

We're getting down to the most powerful ones now: Singer, Allen, Polanski. No way can the #MeToo movement be declared a success if those three aren't forever shut out of Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 376Last Friday at 12:18 PM

Thanks for nothing, Salon.com

The rape allegation against Bryan Singer brings decades of whispers to a head

by Anonymousreply 377Last Friday at 12:22 PM
His Facebook page was wiped in the last several days because it essentially served as a map of his conquests and connections. Along with the rest of his social graph.

His FB profile was still accessible until last night and it only contained two locations, New York and London.

by Anonymousreply 378Last Friday at 12:23 PM

R378 The pictures were all worth thousands of words each.

by Anonymousreply 379Last Friday at 12:29 PM

r379 There were not any interesting pictures from what I saw. The only ones that drew my attention were just two pictures, each with a younger man who looked gay. Both were probably aged 25-30. One was white, the other brown.

USC Dropping Bryan Singer’s Name From Film School

The USC School of Cinematic Arts said it will remove director Bryan Singer’s name from its Division of Cinema & Media Studies program as new allegations of sexual assault came to light yesterday in a lawsuit.

Here’s the statement:
Bryan Singer has requested that the USC School of Cinematic Arts suspend the use of his name on the Division of Cinema & Media Studies until the allegations against him are resolved. The School means a great deal to Bryan, and while he intends to defend himself vigorously against these claims, he does not want the pending litigation to have any negative impact on his alma mater.

USC issued the statement just hours after a rep for the school insisted to Deadline earlier this morning there was “no new development on our behalf beyond the fact that we are monitoring the situation very closely.”

Last month, the USC school said it was aware of a Change.org petition started by a student asking to remove Singer’s name. The petition just passed 4,000 signatures.

by Anonymousreply 381Last Friday at 12:37 PM

"Bryan Singer has requested...." Fantastic semi-save.

In February 2013, Singer became the first alumnus of USC’s School Of Cinematic Arts to have one of the school’s six programs of study named in his honor after he donated $5 million. The program was known as the Bryan Singer Division of Critical Studies.

“In a way, I began my career in the Division of Critical Studies at USC,” he said at the time. “Watching great films and learning how to think about film from the faculty transformed me as an artist and as a person. I am honored to give back to the division and the school, which gave me so much.”

In October, the USC film school rejected Harvey’s Weinstein’s $5 million pledge to fund an endowment for women filmmakers after bombshell exposés from the New York Times the New Yorker alleging decades of sexual harassment by the Oscar-winning producer.

Tom&Lorenzo touch on [italic]that[/italic] weird aspect of Bryan Singer's life:
I thought I might finally have a handle on the whole "jerking off into plants" thing (so to speak) as a power play, but I REALLY don't get randomly asking co-workers to bear your child, like that's a normal thing to ask.

by Anonymousreply 383Last Friday at 12:47 PM

You all. I have a confession to make. Bryan Singer Blew my O-Hole completely out on my 19th birthday! I flexed my rose outward and he began licking, smacking, and tasting the Santorum we had created together. (... defined "santorum" as "the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter ). I am now 24 years old. A forgot boy of Bryan’s. Do you know that there is a knot/lump on the inside of my hole near my prostate gland? This man gave me anal herpes!!!

by Anonymousreply 384Last Friday at 12:48 PM

[R383] I really don't get a white pair naming a child Dashiell.

by Anonymousreply 385Last Friday at 12:51 PM

R385 Honestly, I find that the weirdest part of the whole twisted thing.

by Anonymousreply 386Last Friday at 12:53 PM

This is the least shocking news I’ve ever read. DL has been calling him out for years.

by Anonymousreply 387Last Friday at 1:01 PM

Right, R387? I’m looking forward to hearing the testimonies of people he worked with who had nooooo ideeeaaaa of his reputation and didn’t just overlook it to get a key role or a high grossing movie, even though it was well-discussed by nobodies on the internet for years a la Weinstein, Spacey, etc.

by Anonymousreply 392Last Friday at 1:14 PM

Why would he accept a trip from Grasham after dealing with Bryan for a year?

by Anonymousreply 393Last Friday at 1:16 PM

The most interesting part of this expose is that this kid, who Bryan kept around for year...isn't even that remarkable looking. You can see more striking men anywhere in Los Angeles. If I saw him on Rentmen, I'd probably keep scrolling.

by Anonymousreply 394Last Friday at 1:19 PM

r391 Um, is that the big story that the Open Secret Twitter account was promising?

The Deadline story really deserves its own thread so it doesn't get lost in this one.

by Anonymousreply 397Last Friday at 1:21 PM

R395 Probably. Disappointing if so.

R396 That made me laugh.

by Anonymousreply 406Last Friday at 1:33 PM

R402 omg I want to gouge my eyes out

by Anonymousreply 407Last Friday at 1:35 PM

Has the Open Secret twitter account said anything of this Deadline story? Are they confirming that this is it? Because the momentum they created around it hardly feels justified. "Bryan had a consensual relationship with an 18yo" is not the stuff their documentary is made of.

by Anonymousreply 408Last Friday at 1:42 PM

Wait! Isn't that Scotty Dinamo the youtube with those pictures. I guess I shouldn't be surprised he's a whore...

by Anonymousreply 409Last Friday at 1:45 PM

by Anonymousreply 424Last Friday at 5:12 PM

I don't think anything nefarious is going on with his kid. Michelle Clunie was probably at that age when you want a kid because she was getting older. She's friends with him so....I do question her judgment though. Maybe he wanted a kid too? I just don't think you need to drag her into it.

BREAKING: Bryan Singer's Lover Tells ALL!

“In the morning [Grasham] asks why there’s blood on the sheets. He said, ‘I guess I fingered you too hard. I’m sorry I was drunk.’ I was bleeding for a week,” Skopek recalled, adding.

by Anonymousreply 426Last Friday at 5:13 PM

It seems Bryan Singer has a little bit of good fortune--

Jeff Herman, the lawyer representing Cesar Sanchez-Guzman, was himself accused of rape in 1998.
In a phone interview recorded with Herman’s consent, the lawyer expressed incredulity when asked about allegations of rape, then answered “no” when asked specifically about the receptionist, after which he seemed to mumble, “Oh, crap.” His answers were prefaced with long, halting pauses.

After detectives completed their investigation, they recommended that Herman be prosecuted under the Florida rape statute. However, several months later, Broward County assistant state attorney Dennis Nicewander declined to prosecute, citing “insufficient evidence.”

A review of the police documents indicates that the case was a he said/she said without corroborating eyewitnesses or physical evidence, and Nicewander, who focuses on sex abuse cases, tells THR in an interview that he would likely have reached the same decision not to proceed even had he known that just one year earlier, a federal judge in Oregon had barred Herman from his courtroom for life because of dishonesty, an extraordinary move.

From the article about Singer's boytoy:

"Skopek said the director had the power to lure almost anyone into his bedroom. Singer would watch a television show, see a hot guy, and ask his friends to contact the actor — as if casting the lead for his next big-budget film production."

Hmmmm.....anyone know which actors he banged?

by Anonymousreply 428Last Friday at 5:20 PM

I think it is r422.

Interesting tweet from 2014

by Anonymousreply 429Last Friday at 5:25 PM

Reading that link r422, there is a document that appears to be from Skopek. He says Schulte introduced him to both Gus Van Sant and Andy Dick, most likely the “award-winning director” and “prominent comedic actor” from the Deadline story.

by Anonymousreply 430Last Friday at 5:30 PM

That link at r422 has some pretty damning stuff about Gus Van Sant.

R425 Why not drag Michelle Clunie into any of this? Do you know her? I highly doubt it. She is complicit because she got pregnant AFTER the first time Bryan was sued by Egan. What a dumb statement.

by Anonymousreply 435Last Friday at 8:31 PM

I suspect [R428] that's precisely what happened with Ben Hardy. He either saw his sexy photoshoot in a gay magazine or saw him in EastEnders and arranged to have Ben sent to him.

Oh, my sides! He's never even been photographed with a woman (or girl) that wasn't his mother.....or that blind, deaf and dumb incubator he splooged with a turkey baster (Michelle Clunie) so he could home grow his very own child rape victim.

by Anonymousreply 441Last Friday at 9:46 PM

That Deadline article is about a legal and consensual relationship, yet it's being spread around as though it's an example of disgusting depravity. "Ew, he fingered the guy's asshole. Gross!" etc. It's been posted on the Open Secret twitter feed as though it's an example of abuse.

by Anonymousreply 442Last Friday at 10:06 PM

Note to our resident pedo apologists and Bryan Singer trollbots: stop saying Singer didn't do anything illegal because the kid was a consenting 18 y/o. You are willfully and conveniently forgetting the part of the story where Singer, a man in his 50's (God, he's disgusting), plies teenagers with alcohol and drugs. Then rapes them.

Stop working so damn hard at defending the indefensible. You sound like morons. Here's a hint for you. These three things ARE ILLEGAL:

Rape

Underaged drinking

Drugs

by Anonymousreply 443Last Friday at 10:08 PM

Someone needs to get that poor little boy away from Singer before it's too late. It's horrible. How evil can a person be?

How much do you get paid to come here and lamely try to defend that piece of shit, R442. It IS disgusting and depraved for a 53 y/o man to ply a teenager with drugs and alcohol and them rape them.

by Anonymousreply 446Last Friday at 10:33 PM

by Anonymousreply 449Last Friday at 10:43 PM
stop saying Singer didn't do anything illegal because the kid was a consenting 18 y/o.

Why stop saying it if it's true? It isn't illegal. He was with that man for a whole year. I understand some of you girls are obsessed with pedophilia and seem to talk about it endlessly while searching for it for hours online every day (while of course being utterly disgusted by it), but this is neither an example of pedophilia or rape. It was legal and consensual.

Doesn't it bother you that a legal and consensual gay relationship is being talked about as though it's inherently illegal and disgusting?

by Anonymousreply 450Last Friday at 10:51 PM

There can be no doubt that Singer has been getting away with exploitation and rape of boys for many years. He should be very nervous. He knows his time is finally up and he’s going to have to pay more than money.

30 yrs ago he was a fat, ugly nerd who was rejected by the same type of guys (hot and young) he now exploits. That's why he's got a case of arrested development even into middle age and beyond. r457 I'm a pedo for pointing out that two adult men having consensual sex is perfectly legal? The definition of that word seems to get broader by the day.

by Anonymousreply 461Last Saturday at 4:28 AM

Are you kidding, R458? What he describes IS rape--being given drugs and waking up bleeding from rough sex with no memory of it. It's called date rape. Ever heard of it? The fact that a naive kid doesn't have the right words to express himself correctly doesn't change the fact that he was indeed raped.

According to your dim bulb logic, babies who get raped aren't 'really' raped because they can't say they were.

by Anonymousreply 462Last Saturday at 4:34 AM

Might be legal. Doesn’t make it moral or ethical or healthy. He’s old enough to be this guy’s grandfather & he manipulated him with money, drugs & the promise of fame.

This is not worth your defense.

by Anonymousreply 463Last Saturday at 4:34 AM

And yeah I’m not sure lending your 18-year-old lover to your friends to be raped is all that much better than raping them yourself.

R461 has willful amnesia about Singer giving an underaged kid drugs and alcohol until he passes out.......so he can have "consensual" sex with him.

That is how he describes his encounter with Brett and Grasham, not with Singer. I actually read the article.

by Anonymousreply 482Last Saturday at 8:51 AM

R473 I agree with you completely but in the Islamic/Muslim countries where it happens, which is basically all of them, the sick pedos/hebephiles who practice this on boys and girls feel as though it's part of their culture/heritage, many were sexually abused this way before, and it has been going on in Islamic countries for centuries!

However, the majority of people living in those countries are not pedos/hebephiles and find that stuff to be sick as it is. If you have not yet watched the documentary linked I suggest you do.

by Anonymousreply 483Last Saturday at 8:51 AM

R473 also in some Islamic counties they are called chai boys or tea boys and it's sexual slavery/rape/pedastry and must stop.

On another thread HIS lifestyle is being enshrined as "gay culture." See the parallels?

Time to pick a side - protect and try to prevent victims - or glamorize victimizers and proudly choose to let them hide within and behind the gay community.

R489, you sound more like One Million Moms than someone representing gay community. Are you female?

by Anonymousreply 492Last Saturday at 10:16 AM

With big Oscar campaigns set up for CMBYN and Wonderwheel, the pedos must have thought this was their year, that they would advance normalizing sexualizing kids. Instead, they are flailing and losing ground. Public reaction to Spacey, Singer, Weinstein, etc, is disgust and derision. No one but other predators buys your "art" and "culture" BS.

Schneider next, please, Santa?

Eskimos don't glamorize this shit or actively try to create more psychopaths by victimizing kids, they take care of it.

by Anonymousreply 493Last Saturday at 11:44 AM

R489 I'm not defending Singer and if it's true he supplied drugs or alcohol to minors and pimped them out, then he's deserving of all the scorn he's getting. However every situation needs to be reviewed on a case by case basis. Not bothering to read the facts or investigate claims because they don't suit your political agenda is insane. It doesn't matter whether the accused is gay or straight. The facts still need to come out.

by Anonymousreply 494Last Saturday at 12:10 PM

R493, you sound like an unhinged woman who's obsessed with things only you see as pedophilia. The reality is of course that people here are totally capable of recognizing the difference between raping a 4 year old or having sex with a 17/18 year old. You are acting like there's no difference which makes you seem like a total lunatic.

by Anonymousreply 495Last Saturday at 12:14 PM

He was right about Spacey, R434.

by Anonymousreply 496Last Saturday at 12:19 PM

R441 He chooses to specifically describe himself as bisexual, when he could have just as easily remained silent on the matter. Why does he have to be gay, because you say so?

by Anonymousreply 497Last Saturday at 1:20 PM

^ He's not gay or bi he's a pedo

by Anonymousreply 498Last Sunday at 2:09 AM

R497 Singer can claim all he wants that he's bisexual or gay, but in reality he's a pedo/hebephile, and sexual predator. The same goes for Kevin Spacey.

R485 deflection, anyway, it's a HUGE problem in middle eastern/Islamic countries, and it's been going on for centuries and still goes on and it's a part of their culture which is sick.

by Anonymousreply 499Last Sunday at 2:16 AM

by Anonymousreply 500Last Sunday at 2:17 AM

R503 Spacey won’t because his job is so public, but I bet Singer won’t have any problem getting work if he doesn’t go to prison. People don’t really care about people they don’t see.
Spacey won’t because his job is so public, but I bet Singer won’t have any problem getting work if he doesn’t go to prison. People don’t really care about people they don’t see.

No. He'll be kryptonite. No one wants to be associated with his sleazy reputation. That's why he got dumped from the Queen movie.

by Anonymousreply 505Last Sunday at 3:36 AM

Not enough stories have come out about Singer in response to the news item. He may get away with it. He has weathered too many stories in the past, without a scandalous 12-person NYTimes story or similar I doubt it will do much damage.

by Anonymousreply 506Last Sunday at 3:39 AM

R505 Polanski remains popular among entertainment professionals, who even filed a petition to get him back in the US. Johnny Depp made a shitty movie called the Ninth Gate with him and there was no major criticism of Depp. If creepy Johnny Depp were accused of rape, he’d be kryptonite. I think directors and producers are more likely to be forgiven or to have their crimes ignored because they can slink around quietly behind the cameras. I could be wrong and I hope that I am. Time will tell.

by Anonymousreply 507Last Sunday at 3:39 AM

R506 exactly. Here’s a story from 2014...no one cared then. I don’t think people are nearly as likely to feel like adult men can be raped and victimized the way Singer has been accused of doing as people are likely to feel sorry for women and children. Men, gay and straight, are expected to fend for themselves.

by Anonymousreply 508Last Sunday at 3:42 AM

I don't think this story has gotten the traction in MSM that the venomous queens of DL had hoped.

Too bad, gurlinas. You'll just have to wait for the next band wagon to jump on.

by Anonymousreply 509Last Sunday at 3:56 AM

I think the climate out there is different now than it was in 2014. These things aren't hushed up anymore, and accusers are more likely to be believed. It comes down to the bottom line. And the financial people probably won't be wiling to back any projects with someone who has all of this surrounding him-whether more victims come forward or not. What is so special about Singer that they need him on a movie? And other big name talent won't want to be associated with him. Why would they all risk a project getting tanked just to have him on board? This stuff has been surrounding him for years-way too much smoke to ignore- and he always runs the risk of some other accuser coming forward and ruining it all.

by Anonymousreply 510Last Sunday at 4:08 AM

Is he considered a genius? No? Then why bother with him. Just a sleazy liability now.

by Anonymousreply 511Last Sunday at 4:13 AM

What R510 said and you're in major denial if you think otherwise.

The risk of a movie getting hit by a negative PR campaign in social media is way too high right now. And as R511 wisely added, it's not like Singer is considered a genius or even an "auteur."

He will become a harijan

by Anonymousreply 512Last Sunday at 4:16 AM
[R505] Polanski remains popular among entertainment professionals, who even filed a petition to get him back in the US. The Ninth Gate is actually a great film. I saw it before getting totally tired of Depp, and before even really knowing about Polanski's history with young girls. When I finally took a closer look at him it took me quite some time before finally catching The Ghost Writer. That was a great film as well but there's no denying it's hard to separate the man from his art. Polanski seems to be a seriously damaged individual.

Singer's X-Men, X2 and Days of Future Past are some of my favorite supehero films, and I don't deny that is one of the reasons why I've been defending him. If it turns out he's more like Polanski and really goes after early-puberty kids I'll definitely drop him but at this point I'm waiting for some solid evidence of any serious wrongdoing. Having sex with 18 year old guys is not something I personally want to do but since I remember myself at that age I know guys at that age are not little babies any more. They are adults and can have sex with anyone they want. Yes it's icky but it's definitely not pedophilia in any way.

BTW, R507, if you haven't been paying attention Amber Heard did accuse Depp of violence, and his image most certainly got damaged. Just recently the director of the next Fantastic Beasts film had to defend Depp in public for not firing him from the film.

by Anonymousreply 513Last Sunday at 4:44 AM
Why would they all risk a project getting tanked just to have him on board?

Why indeed, when the risk of dealing with him doesn't stop at his rapey reputation. It's also the fact that he has become unreliable and unhinged---throwing tantrums and going AWOL on shoots. THAT story did get lots of press.

by Anonymousreply 514Last Sunday at 5:09 AM

What is great about the Ninth Gate? I am into occult stuff in general, and so I should like it, but when I ran into it on cable I thought I was watching a bad Dan Brown novel-turned-movie.

I rewatched Rosemary’s Baby a few weeks ago and it was sooooo much better than I had remembered. And given that movie and the Ninth Gate and the way Polanski’s wife was killed, I can’t believe he isn’t involved in ritualistic sexual abuse.

by Anonymousreply 515Last Sunday at 6:07 AM

Gal Gadot said she wouldn't do the Wonder Woman sequel if Brett Ratner was involved and the same thing will happen if Singer is attached to anything. Especially the types of projects he works on with huge budgets and big stars. Imagine the backlash on social media against the stars if it was announced they were working on a Singer movie. Why would they want to spend all of the time they should be promoting the movie answering questions about Singer? Because that's what would happen and who needs that. He's done.

by Anonymousreply 516Last Sunday at 6:28 AM

R515, The Ninth Gate is basically *****SPOILER****** a movie about awakening Satan but it's so low key that you don't realize it until the end. However it's extremely well made and the movie most definitely has a mysteriously beautiful and dark atmosphere, even though it's not as straightforward as a horror film as Rosemary's Baby. Mind you, I don't like everything Polanski's done. For example Bitter Moon and Frantic are not my favorites at all, and tbh I'm not that wild about Rosemary's Baby either. There's something nasty about the film which I just dislike. Maybe I like The Ninth Gate because the approach is so much softer. In some ways I find The Ninth Gate just perfect.

by Anonymousreply 531Last Sunday at 9:29 AM

If what we've heard so far are the only stories to break and that's all they have on Singer then he'll be back behind the camera within a year, no question. He's made a fortune for the studios and they won't turn that away because of a story about a consensual relationship between two adults.

by Anonymousreply 532Last Sunday at 10:21 AM

Consensual, you say.

by Anonymousreply 534Last Sunday at 10:31 AM

I think it all depends on how the legal stuff works out. I say he will work again in maybe 5 years. hope he invested wisely and saved his money.

R533, you better take a refresher course on all things Egan before believing anything he says. He apparently admitted to someone that he was never raped, and his lawyer dropped him and apologized to the men Egan had accused. I'm not saying he couldn't be telling the truth about some things, though, but he's a professional grifter these days and believing anything he says is hard.

"Michael Egan, who last year rocked Hollywood with sexual abuse allegations against “X-Men” director Bryan Singer, former NBC president Garth Ancier and others, was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday. Egan was sentenced over unrelated charges of conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud, U.S. attorney Jill Westmoreland said. According to court documents, between August 2007 and February 2012, Egan carried out a fraudulent investment scheme by conning his victims to enter into fictitious business and investment contracts, promising that he would invest their money in projects including land development and television shows. He also lied about his financial background and personal assets to induce his victims. All told, according to court records, Egan bilked more than 14 victims out out of more than $300,000."

If Singer ends up poor and out of work but not in jail, I suspected he will bounce back in off-the-radar, low-end projects and I honestly would not be surprised if that meant something like a Netflix or Amazon series or (yes, seriously) a project for Disney or Nickelodeon. I will believe that Hollywood scandals stick with perpetrators when I see it. So far I haven’t seen it.

Is this where the squinty eyed weasel goes up into the hairless boy?

by Anonymousreply 539Last Monday at 1:26 AM

R507 don't forget how creepy Johnny Depp who beats up his girlfriends/wives, rallied for the release of Damien Echols the psychopath/sociopath who murdered 3 boys.

by Anonymousreply 540Last Monday at 1:50 AM

Johnny Depp never beat Amber Beard

by Anonymousreply 541Last Monday at 1:58 AM

How much is Singer worth at this point? Probably over a 100 million $. He will keep a low profile, stay away from directing for a while, but will keep money pouring in from producing stuff.

In a few years, after paying several millions in settlements and a period of 'introspection, soul-searching, getting professional help' or whatever, he will be back to directing some small 'auteur' stuff about "fighting his inner demons" and in a few years more he will be back to making blockbusters. And of course he will keep fucking jailbait, although will probably card them well and try to avoid his rapey instincts. It's sad but that is how this shit works.

by Anonymousreply 542Last Monday at 2:13 AM

I remember when John Waters who is a chickenhawk/pedo/hebephile appologist claimed that it was fine for this pedo/hebephile to sexually abuse boys/teenagers in his book "role models".

by Anonymousreply 543Last Monday at 2:27 AM

Now I see where Hugh learned to live in plain sight. All those pics of Singer with twinks, of Singer and his male friends with twinks. Not a woman in sight, yet someone here keeps repeating his BS that he is bi. Deb must just be really pissing about now. Wasn't Palermo Singer's PA until he ran off with Hugh and became a producing partner? I thought they met on the first XMEN.

by Anonymousreply 544Last Monday at 10:03 AM

The other Singer thread was just closed.

by Anonymousreply 545Last Monday at 10:04 AM

Rightly so, that thread had descended into farce.

by Anonymousreply 546Last Monday at 10:28 AM

R545 What thread?

by Anonymousreply 547Last Monday at 10:30 AM

OH, WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE YOUNG ADULTS!?

by Anonymousreply 548Last Monday at 10:37 AM

This article is interesting. The guy says he heard the story about Bryan and Kevin Spacey "fighting over a twink" on the set of The Usual Suspects from a firsthand source who was there.

He also has a story about a medic who was groped by an unnamed married male star (Travolta?) on the set of a movie and was given hush money as a result

by Anonymousreply 549Last Monday at 6:29 PM

gabriel byne said recently that the production of The Ususal Suspects had to stop for a bit due to Spacey.

by Anonymousreply 550Last Monday at 7:56 PM

Too many alarmists here accusing Dinger of rape when no such thing has ever been proved or brought up by anyone. All of a sudden getting togetiger with a consenting adult and SHARING drugs and alcohol (Bryan did them too) that said consenting adult willingly took gets turned into "Bryan is slipping them roofies and plowing them with drugs and alcohol, then raping them when they're unconscious."

I am not saying there's no possibility that said things may have happened, but so far, those criminal acts haven't been uncovered or claimed by anyone except Egan, whose lawyer dropped him after it became clear the guy was lying, which he later admitted and also later became involved in fraudulent crimes.

Every story that comes out from both the Hollywood rumor mill as well as jilted ex-lovers regarding Bryan Singer so far is that he cards all his party guests, at times joins in on the fun that some of them are also having with each other, and shares party favors i.e. drugs and alcohol. The rest is stuff made up in forums like this one by speculating alarmists. Yes, his taste for young twinks is not my cup of tea and I find it ridiculous, but it's not illegal or even immoral.

And, if I'm not mistaken, SELLING alcohol to someone under 21 is against the law, but I'm not sure serving it to someone over 18 in the privacy of your own home - as long as you don't let them drive off - is illegal.

Drugs are illegal all around, but these guys all wanted them. Nobody is being force-fed them. Look at the pictures!

by Anonymousreply 551Yesterday at 12:39 AM

Could you not argue though that he's acting like a drug dealer - getting them hooked on drugs as he then knows he'll be able to wield power as he's their supplier, especially when he's offering them for "free" - at least in terms of money. Drugs aren't exactly unheard of as a tool used for control within Hollywood.

I know this will be dismissed as some by saying "well they could've said no" - but again that ignores the situation these guys found themselves in - wanting to make it in the industry, and not wanting to get a bad reputation - which shows how fucked up Hollywood can be that refusing to do drugs could get you a bad reputation.

There's nothing inherently wrong about a relationship between a younger (legal) guy and an older guy. Two consenting adults and all that. But when you add the power imbalance that exists here, and that Singer would often be these guys employers, it's wrong.

We're not talking about a power imbalance in a vague sense of an older guy being the breadwinner here - we're literally talking about the kind of power imbalance where Singer could end these guy's careers. And it's a power he uses, given how many of his former fucks he's cast in small roles.

by Anonymousreply 552Yesterday at 1:04 AM

The younger party in that kind of relationship also wields the power of their youth and relative desirability. It's not a one way street. And drugs and alcohol are social lubricants that most people use, not just gay men. The only thing we need to concern ourselves with in instances like that is that both parties are adults and are therefore equipped to make their own decisions (and mistakes).

by Anonymousreply 553Yesterday at 1:27 AM

No, the younger party has no power. In terms of youth and looks, West Hollywood alone is a buyer's market. If some good looking twink won't do what he wants, he'll just get another.
The only thing we need to concern ourselves with in instances like that

In other words you just want to find an excuse to stick your head in the sand.
In other words you just want to find an excuse to stick your head in the sand.

If it's two adults living their lives, then I believe what you refer to as "sticking your head in the sand" is what most people think of as getting a life and minding your own business, love.

by Anonymousreply 555Yesterday at 1:40 AM
we're literally talking about the kind of power imbalance where Singer could end these guy's careers.

LOL, what careers? He picks up kids at the bus station and teen dances. Starry eyed kids with zero understanding of how the game actually works. He doesn't threaten to 'ruin' careers. He promises to make them......and never does. He just lies, manipulates, drugs, rapes and discards. Lather, rinse, repeat.

by Anonymousreply 556Yesterday at 1:50 AM
That's an interesting claim from someone who repeatedly posts in this thread. I guess you've only gotten around to doing one of those things.

Merely countering some of the hysterical frau nonsense here, that's all. I'm not the one shrieking that SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE about two adults living their lives, am I? Can you see the difference?

Do straight men who ask their wives and girlfriends to dress up in schoolgirl uniforms because it turns them on trouble you, too? Do you think they're all sick predators?

by Anonymousreply 559Yesterday at 2:35 AM

R559 I haven't been paying attention to your arguments, but Singer and Spacey are sexual predators/rapists who are hebephiles.

Just because the people who they raped drank alcohol or took other drugs that does not mean that the victims somehow consented to being raped/sexually abused.

by Anonymousreply 560Yesterday at 2:43 AM
Just because the people who they raped drank alcohol or took other drugs that does not mean that the victims somehow consented to being raped/sexually abused.

He was with his 18 year old partner for a whole year and that young man never accused him of rape. Are you saying he was drugged for an entire year and doesn't realise he was being raped against his will? And he's not a hebephile. If you want to label his attractions then the word you're looking for is ephebophile. Someone who is attracted to older teenage men.

by Anonymousreply 561Yesterday at 2:47 AM

r559 you are shrieking like a frau. You must have issues. Calm down. r560 is right about the alcohol and drugs, as the age limit in California is 21. It's not per se illegal to give wine to someone 18, but as part of getting consent, it raises legal issues.

r561, if you're not the same person, you are spinning a fantasy that people's attractions are instinctively sexually cued to a legal age limit. I've been in the gym and seen a cute young guy working out, probably gay, flirting with everyone, then you realize he's not 19 or 20, he's 17 or 16. You can't always tell that line.

For you to say Singer's "attracted" only to "older teenage men" and then assume that falls on the legal side (only 18 or 19 year olds) is just ridiculous. If he has to check IDs, why would he need to do that if his "attraction" was so well tuned to legal age? Work on that, will you?

by Anonymousreply 562Yesterday at 2:56 AM

Oh yes, and Bryan Singer is 52. I don't know when he had this 18 year old "partner" but if you mean "sex partner" (or sex group / gang bang member), I'm with you. But Bryan Singer partnered? With anyone? With an 18 year old?

Good one.

by Anonymousreply 563Yesterday at 2:58 AM

Agreed R563, at least the "Bryan Singer is bisexual!" troll is not posting anymore in this thread.

You answer your own question:

You can't always tell that line, hence the need to check ID. It's not that difficult to understand, surely?

by Anonymousreply 565Yesterday at 3:02 AM

r565, are you reading carefully? Those were exactly my points. If I have to spell it out for you, again, I said the claim to the contrary ("he's attacted to only older teens") is ridiculous.

Read it again as my reply to R561.

They were living together for a year. From the young man's description it sounds like they were emotionally intimate as well as physically. I love the high distinction between "sex partner" and partner, though.

by Anonymousreply 567Yesterday at 3:13 AM

R561 just because the partner was with Singer for an entire year or two, that does not mean that he never was raped, or drugged or date raped by Singer who was his partner/lover.

by Anonymousreply 568Yesterday at 3:14 AM

r566 A 16/17 year old is an older teen and someone attracted to such would be described as an ephebophile. The age of consent throughout most of Europe is 16 and so this wouldn't be so much of a problem, but in the US an ephebophile, particularly one in Singer's position, would be wise to check IDs. It's not that difficult to understand, surely?

by Anonymousreply 569Yesterday at 3:17 AM
[R561] just because the partner was with Singer for an entire year or two, that does not mean that he never was raped, or drugged or date raped by Singer who was his partner/lover.

He hasn't accused Singer of rape. What on Earth are you going on about??

by Anonymousreply 570Yesterday at 3:19 AM

r567 is arguing with his fantasy. Bryan Singer does not have "partners" in the way most people romantic, emotional coupling. Everyone knows it. And not with an 18 year old.

r569 (who is starting to sound like Singer or someone on his team), I don't have any issue with your ridiculous need to schoolmarm people on the difference between ephebophilia and hebephilia. You're so busy screeching and arguing with everyone in defence of Singer you seem to think this is my argument. It's not. But if you're going to use 19th century terms, ephebophilia includes mid-adolescents, not just late-adolescents, which includes 15 year olds. And it technically means one who has arrived at puberty, which can be younger than 15. See the link.

And if you're now appealing to Europe to make your case and agreeing he's attracted to 16 or 17 year olds, you're losing the argument badly. But I'm sure going to spin and shriek about this too.

If you had a friend who said he was an "ephebophile" and liked guys who were "barely legal" and said "go for it" and I totally support your choices, you're a lousy friend. It's reckless and dangerous and if Singer or anyone like him gets caught for it, it's his own fault.

by Anonymousreply 571Yesterday at 3:27 AM

R569 this isn't Europe, and even in those European countries someone who is in their 50s or who is way over 18-21 is not legally allowed to have sex with some young kid or teenager, or rape them like Singer did.

All the technical terms aside Singer is scum and a hebephile, and sexual predator.

by Anonymousreply 572Yesterday at 3:30 AM

The most common fetish worldwide is for straight men to get women to dress in schoolgirl uniforms. I'm sorry to break it to you, but "barely legal" is a very common attraction. You may not like that or find it distasteful, but it isn't illegal. If, as claimed, Singer was carding the young men he slept with, then it isn't reckless or dangerous, is it? It's not that difficult to understand, surely?

by Anonymousreply 574Yesterday at 3:34 AM

r572 It's perfectly legal in Europe for a 50 year old man to have sex with an 18 year old man. It's perfectly legal in the US, too.

by Anonymousreply 575Yesterday at 3:38 AM

Yes, R575, but furnishing drugs and alcohol to people under 21 is not legal. and doing so for "immoral purposes" can land a man in jail or prison.

by Anonymousreply 576Yesterday at 3:39 AM

R575 yes it's legal but Singer and Spacey get the other adult men or teenagers drunk or high and rape them/force them into sex. This is illegal, sick, and wrong. Even in European countries where the age of consent is lower and certain soft drugs are decriminalized this is illegal.

by Anonymousreply 577Yesterday at 3:47 AM
[R575] yes it's legal

False equivalency retard. You are so fucking lame. How in your warped world does is a grown adult in a committed relationship playing a role for fun compare to an actual kid being exploited?

by Anonymousreply 579Yesterday at 3:53 AM

His LAWYER CLAIMS kids are carded, take that with a mine of salt.

by Anonymousreply 580Yesterday at 3:58 AM

r579 is absolutely right and r573 is such a troll.

Putting aside this unsubstantiated claim that this the "most common fetish" worldwide, there's a big difference between having a 20-25 year old do it and even to go looking for sex partners who are barely 18 and then to mix drugs, alcohol into the mix and claim, like Spacey, that he was drunk when he doesn't remember grinding on a 14 year old.

Spacey and Singer are getting exactly what they deserve.

by Anonymousreply 581Yesterday at 4:00 AM
The most common fetish worldwide is for straight men to get women to dress in schoolgirl uniforms.

Nope. There are lots of common fetishes the world over, and the most popular ones vary by country. In Italy, the most common is role playing as nuns and priests.

But you keep on with your poorly reasoned arguments, outright lies and false equivalencies in a pathetic attempt to normalize this creep. You sound like a fool. You must know that the wider world of normal, well adjusted, mature adults will NEVER accept your ridiculous hair splitting excuses.

No one said anything about committed relationships. Look on any straight porn site and see how many scenarios involve "barely legal" girls dressed in schoolgirl uniforms. It's interesting that in the straight scenario you automatically assume that they're committed and healthy relationships, though. Very telling.
There are lots of common fetishes the world over, and the most popular ones vary by country. In Italy, the most common is role playing as nuns and priests

Yet the fact Singer went to a fancy dress party dressed as a priest was taken as a sign of some disgusting perversion. Lots of telling double standards here. Still, you at least acknowledge that "barely legal" is a very common fetish.

by Anonymousreply 584Yesterday at 4:15 AM

Now can we all settle down a second to enjoy R574's post?

But seriously-we're arguing over 3 things:

1)possible false accusations 2)possible false IDENTIFICATIONS 3)possible abuse and degree

And all 3 will be dealt with in time ESPECIALLY during THESE times

All of you need to ask yourselves REALLY where all this anger and concern REALLY comes from cause its deeper than youve expressed; the sides still going at it with each other.

by Anonymousreply 585Yesterday at 4:21 AM
No one said anything about committed relationships.

You did, dummy. Right here:
Do straight men who ask their wives and girlfriends to dress up in schoolgirl uniforms because it turns them on trouble you, too? Do you think they're all sick predators?

It's "very telling" that you feel the need outright lie and deny you're own words to make an argument. Yes, yes, it's "very telling". Very telling indeed.

by Anonymousreply 586Yesterday at 4:22 AM

r586 I know plenty of straight couples, married and otherwise, who I would hardly describe as "committed". Some are only together for the sex and others purely because they're terrified of being alone. Again, you automatically assume that every scenario where a straight man is being turned on by a girl in a school uniform is doing so as part of a healthy relationship. And yes, it is very telling.

The truth is it's all over straight porn sites and the attraction to "barely legal" girls is extremely common.

by Anonymousreply 587Yesterday at 4:32 AM

this is one of those threads where sexual identification would be helpful. I'm just curious who the men and the women here are. Anyone else?

by Anonymousreply 588Yesterday at 4:39 AM

R568 is one of the classic DLers who argues and argues, spinning away from arguments he's losing just to argue. So now it's not the most common fetish in the world. It's "extremely common" because you see it on straight porn sites. Idiot.

Here is the shit:

I don't care whether Brian Singer is in a relationship or not, or whether he has group sex or drinks or even has drugs. None of my business. I also have no stake in these claims that he raped anyone or had sex with people who are underage.

But to turn this in to a defense of Singer and as if he's being persecuted because he's gay is what's offensive, especially with people like Al Franken and countless other straight men being taken down.

You're an idiot for defending him all over this thread and trying to make this into homophobia. What a discredit to everything gay people have fought for in terms of rights and respect.

by Anonymousreply 589Yesterday at 5:17 AM
You're an idiot for defending him all over this thread and trying to make this into homophobia. What a discredit to everything gay people have fought for in terms of rights and respect.

If his being attracted to young men is being used as evidence of perversion when it's extremely common for straight men to be attracted to the "barely legal", then that's homophobia. If his wearing a priest's outfit is being used as evidence of perversion when it's apparently a very common fetish for straight couples, then that's homophobia. If, as we've seen again and again in these threads, people are arguing not against criminality or illegality but what they see as distasteful, then that's homophobia. Singer may well be a rapist or a predator, but given that this homophobic bias is clearly prevalent and we see all too clearly how online rumors are quickly asserted as facts, and then the prevalence of those online rumors themselves are taken as proof of wrongdoing, then I think it's incumbent on us as gay men to try and stick to the facts and not let homophobic and prudish hysteria muddy the waters. That's surely part of what we fought for.

by Anonymousreply 590Yesterday at 5:29 AM

R589???? Not, r568, but I agree with the sentiment he is putting out there. There are quite a few posters who are trying to make this into Singer does what he does because he is gay and this is simply not the truth.

by Anonymousreply 591Yesterday at 5:31 AM

Also, if we're talking about the fight for common rights and respect, you can't pick and choose which gay men are afforded those rights and that respect merely because you may find what they do distasteful. One of the most basic rights is the presumption of innocence until guilt has been proven. When his relationship with an 18 year old man is being spoken of as something inherently criminal, even when the young man hasn't even accused him of rape, then that's wrong and is the opposite of what we fought for.

He's being consciously smeared by some posters as a pedo, when absolutely nothing he's been accused of can even remotely be described as pedophilia (or even hebephilia). And even people who are trying to stick to the facts and counter that hysteria are being labelled as "pedo apologists". That;s clearly wrong and most gay men don't have to be told about the homophobic tactic of trying to equate homosexuality with pedophilia.

by Anonymousreply 592Yesterday at 5:43 AM

No, R590, no r591, and no R592.

No one has said he's a "pervert" for being attracted to younger men, even as young as 18 and 19. Some people are accusing him of actually going after underage youth and being attracted to all ranges of adolescents. You can say that's unfounded, but if they're right, it's not "homophobia" to call it out. You're conflating the two things, badly and making that leap at every argument based on what we know.

You're also ignoring people like r569 (which is likely one of you), who is trying to claim by European standards being attracted to and sexually pursuing men who may be 16 or 17 is okay therefore if Brian is punished for it in California, it must be homophobic. And some loon all over this thread is trying to suggest that role play about school uniforms among adults as a "fetish" somehow makes Singer's behavior, even if it crossed a line of legality, is just being treated unfairly.

DL has been pretty harsh about Roman Polanski and Woody Allen. So trying to turn every argument into homophobia while people rail on this site about Allen and Polanski that is ridiculous and insulting, especially to accuse of gay men of homophobia even if we have no sympathy for what he's done.

Bryan Singer is not being singled out or treated worse because he's gay. He's being treated just like Polanski and Allen are on DL for playing with borderlines of legality and -- in SInger's case mixing drugs, alcohol and allegedly carding 18 year olds to make sure their legal as a defense when he crosses a line.

Get a clue.

by Anonymousreply 593Yesterday at 5:59 AM
Some people are accusing him of actually going after underage youth and being attracted to all ranges of adolescents. You can say that's unfounded, but if they're right, it's not "homophobia" to call it out.

You can say it's unfounded because it is unfounded. So why are they accusing him of it? And why are they going even further than that and consciously smearing him as a pedophile, if not out of homophobia?

by Anonymousreply 594Yesterday at 6:10 AM
If some innocents fall in this changing time, it’s a minuscule price to pay considering the amount of misery that has been endured by the aggrieved.

This is a comment posted in the Jodie Foster thread. That kind of reckless moral panic and hysteria, and total disregard for someone's rights, should worry any gay man. It's all over these Bryan Singer threads. That kind of "you're either with us or you're a pedo apologist" mentality.

by Anonymousreply 595Yesterday at 6:15 AM
If his wearing a priest's outfit is being used as evidence of perversion when it's apparently a very common fetish for straight couples, then that's homophobia.

Wow, twisting it again as usual. An adult straight couple role playing as priests and nuns, or two grown men acting out a fantasy as priests is very different. That's all harmless fun.

Pedo-Bryan dressing up as a priest in the company of barely legals (his alter boys) was a blatant homage to pedo priests.....and you very well know it.

by Anonymousreply 596Yesterday at 6:21 AM
Pedo-Bryan dressing up as a priest in the company of barely legals (his alter boys) was a blatant homage to pedo priests.....and you very well know it.

Well, again you make a telling distinction. You acknowledge that Bryan and the "barely legals" are all adults, but you imagine it's an homage to pedophilia, whereas an "adult straight couple" doing the same thing are merely indulging in harmless role playing. That's your perception, it isn't fact.

by Anonymousreply 597Yesterday at 6:28 AM

So, is anyone going to defend, r596, as not being homophobic?

Bueller? Bueller?

by Anonymousreply 598Yesterday at 6:29 AM

^^Twisting in the wind again. I said two grown men role playing as priests is harmless too. But you ignored that, didn't you?

by Anonymousreply 599Yesterday at 6:30 AM

R599, what you fail to understand is that you are equating pedophilia to homosexuality. You are imagining a scenario that only exists in your mind.
