If I'm reading this correctly, Trump is the "first beast" who will "reign" for 42 months, that is 3.5 years. He will be mortally wounded ("wounded by the sword and revived"), meaning that he'll be killed but will be bought back to life. Another name for Megiddo is Armageddon, in case anyone wonders where that name came from.

Historically it was the location of a huge battle between the Egyptians and the Caananite princes of the area. This was during the time of the chariots and all that jazz, like Yul Brenner in The Ten Commandments, only a bit earlier. The Egyptians won, but it was an awful battle.

What must have happened was, some Jewish nomads (they were Bedouin type nomads at that time) must have been in one of the armies, and they must have been greatly affected by all the death and bloodshed. So when they talked about the terrible battle at the end of the world in their cosmology, the first name that must have come to mind was that awful day or murder and pain at Megiddo.
