Actor Robert Shaw (1927–1978)

Did you like his work?

by Anonymousreply 1712/09/2017

Yes. Excellent actor, exceptionally versatile.

by Anonymousreply 112/06/2017

Not much. Very annoying.

by Anonymousreply 212/06/2017

If only for his performances in Jaws and The Sting, he deserves to be in the pantheon.

by Anonymousreply 312/06/2017

And for his uncredited role as The Oracle in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. He even wrote his own dialog. Plus, he was excellent in The Hireling.

A Man For All Seasons, Jaws, The Sting. Loved him! Died too soon. Bet he threw a mean fuck too.

The story is that Shaw had a hand in revising / rewriting Quint's famous "Indianapolis speech" a few days before they shot the scene.

Shaw relentlessly bullied Dreyfuss onset, perhaps mimicking their characters' rivalry. But Dreyfuss commented that his reactions during Shaw's delivery of the famous speech were genuine; he was completely mesmerized by the delivery.

by Anonymousreply 612/07/2017

Yes. You didn't see him acting, he was the character.

by Anonymousreply 712/07/2017

He was an exceptional Henry VIII

by Anonymousreply 812/07/2017

and he was striking looking when he was much younger

by Anonymousreply 912/07/2017

He was good in the “battle of the bulge” and looked handsome in uniform (sadly it was a Nazi uniform!)

by Anonymousreply 1012/07/2017

Hot and menacing in "From Russia With Love."

by Anonymousreply 1112/07/2017

So sexy in "From Russia with Love."

Many times as a child did I fap thinking of him mercilessly pounding me.

Bob Shaw was a fairy ordinary actor on stage but a horny dog off it.

He stole my wife because he worshipped her large breasts. I told him her great udders matched her large moo-cow eyes (which made her rather resemble Elsa Lanchester). But he didn't care.

Anyway, both ended badly.

by Anonymousreply 1312/08/2017

Yes, in The Sting.

by Anonymousreply 1412/08/2017

If he was any good you would not have to post a link to his Wikipedia article, we'd know who he is and what he does..

by Anonymousreply 1512/09/2017

Should've won an Oscar for Jaws.

by Anonymousreply 1612/09/2017

There was always something off-putting abiut him.
