David Lynch wanted to make a Marilyn Monroe biopic starring Jessica Lange.

She would be been perfect (see King Kong and Blue Sky).

Maybe it would have worked as Lange is a very good actress but I don't think she would have been right for the part.

by Anonymousreply 3November 18, 2017 4:51 PM

After enduring her Crawford, we all know the disaster this would be.

by Anonymousreply 4November 18, 2017 4:53 PM

Lange did amazing Monroe impersonations for Kong and Blue Sky. She would've been sublime, especially with Lynch directing.

R5 The Lange Troll raises its ugly head.

by Anonymousreply 6November 18, 2017 5:00 PM

Today she would be more appropriately cast as President James Monroe.

It's not too late. Ryan Murphy would still cast her as Marilyn Monroe today.

This would've been amazeballs.

I think thre's one of two novels out there where MM faked her death and disappeared into obscurity.

That could work...

She captured Monroe perfectly in "King Kong" and "Blue Sky". I can see why Lynch.wanted to do this with her.

by Anonymousreply 13January 2, 2018 6:23 AM

Look, I really like Lange, but unless the script is that MM's death was faked and she was still alive all these years later, I can't see it. Lange is just too old at this point. Now, if they had done a movie of Lange as MM back in her younger days, then sure.

by Anonymousreply 14January 2, 2018 6:33 AM

R14 agreed.

by Anonymousreply 15January 2, 2018 4:31 PM

Must have meant Marilyn Monroe's mother.

by Anonymousreply 16January 2, 2018 4:33 PM

R16 Girl, please.

by Anonymousreply 17January 3, 2018 4:01 AM

This would've been sublime

Yas.

by Anonymousreply 19May 18, 2018 1:58 PM

She lacks MM's intelligence. It would have been a travesty. No.

by Anonymousreply 20May 18, 2018 2:04 PM

She would've been amazing.

by Anonymousreply 21May 18, 2018 4:30 PM

I would give my left nut to go back in time and fund this.

by Anonymousreply 22November 10, 2018 10:39 PM

Lynch wanted to do the MM movie in the 80s! Not recently! Jessica Lange would've been great, i think.

by Anonymousreply 23November 10, 2018 10:42 PM

R12, she DID fake her death. She now lives in Saskatchewan and is a vegan potter. And has a devoted partner.

by Anonymousreply 24November 10, 2018 10:43 PM

R24 omg, imagine if that were true.

by Anonymousreply 25November 10, 2018 10:48 PM

Why doubt it?

by Anonymousreply 26November 11, 2018 2:32 AM

R26 Doesn't seem plausible.

by Anonymousreply 27November 11, 2018 2:35 AM

Marilyn was always small boned, so I don't see it.

by Anonymousreply 28November 11, 2018 2:36 AM

R28 David Lynch dis see it.

by Anonymousreply 29November 11, 2018 2:39 AM

I can't imagine what he would do with it...it could be great, I guess.

by Anonymousreply 30November 11, 2018 2:48 AM

I thought that girl ego played MM with Susan Sarandon was terrific and the best MM I've seen. Should have got an Emmy.
