It's easy for these guys to be goals. You set one guy up and then set the other guy up about 25 feet away.
Anyway, yes we know, as used here it's braindead social media speak. It's like saying something is "everything."
One more example of the enduring retardation of today's younger people.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 22, 2017 5:18 PM |
[quote] I swear you dumb racist bitches upset me
How is it racist to ask how a word is used in a context that is not familiar or used with a meaning that is not traditionally recognized? An example would be if someone started saying "I'm futuring" to mean passing through time or aging. It would leave many perplexed. Language is about shared meaning leading to communication and understanding.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 22, 2017 5:19 PM |
"Goals" is also often used by straight-identified guys to let a hot dude know he thinks he is hot or has a hot physique.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 22, 2017 5:19 PM |
"Everything" is a female or fem guy term. Goals is not

by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 22, 2017 5:26 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 22, 2017 5:37 PM |
Low key generally means doing or being something without being obvious or detectable. In this context, it's when a guy hits on or flirts with a dude but nobody but that guy can tell or detect it.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 22, 2017 5:39 PM |
While I appreciate OP using the term in a complete sentence, it's more applicable usage as a superlative is as a single phrase:
Goals. (picture of a guy working out)
like:
Damn! (picture a guy showing his erect penis.)
The new monosyllabic spoken word culture of fragmenting standard English to accommodate the short attention span of social media are problematic for some, easier for others with limited vocabularies, whose syntax is less than memes with text.
That said, to quote a meme in the linked Twitter thread, "I want your sperm."

Masc bros, porn stars, rent boys, Instahoes. Or any combination of the above. Those are our gay role models in 2017.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | September 22, 2017 7:50 PM |
Enjoy seeing a post like this one. We not only get to meet two guys in a relationship, but a number of us learned a new word. Whether the word "goal" is appropriate or we're still dealing with the baggage that it represents, but some of us (including me) now know something we didn't know before. Excellent! Do we need to discuss their nationality? No. Is their nationality important? Only to them. Would I like to see more couples of color pictured? I guess I do. But only to show that gay couples include all nationalities, races, religions, etc. R62 is wrong. Only a small percentage of gay men fit into the categories he or she lists. My gay role models are my friends who are comfortably out and home, school, and at work.

by Anonymous | reply 65 | September 23, 2017 3:56 AM |
Are they only "goals" because they're "of color"? White couple or mixed couples are not "goals"? What a racist CUNT. Be gone!
by Anonymous | reply 66 | September 23, 2017 4:00 AM |
I wasn't aware "goals" had baggage, only that its use in this context is another example of how a neutral word has been rendered stupid by millennial Instahos.

No. Start a new thread with that sentence as your topic, and that will assuage us. We don't care about their ethnicity, race or nationality. They are irrelevant. What we care about is proper grammar and usage.
