The Bronx won't be greatly improved as long as there are tons of public housing projects. Always hornet's nests of drugs, gangs & crime.
R3 Newark, Paterson, Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford. Plenty of lower income cities in the tri state area.
I always thought the perfect use of the South Bronx would have been to move La Guardia Airport there, rather than re do the shit location it has now, which will never be big enough.

It's because of the new highway

Here comes the neighborhood!

R7, given that Newark is going through changes - including knocking down the housing projects that would support an influx of poor folks - it may not be an option for long.

R5, six bedrooms and 14 bathrooms? They must be a very incontinental couple.

This Keith Rubenstein looks downright crazy., with his crazy skull-head. Good luck in Mott-Haven. You gonna move there Keith with your low-rent version of Isabella Rossellini-wife.

Meet Inga, Keith Rubenstein's hooker Russian wife. Would she turn tricks in Mott-Haven?

^that was already a good read on the husband then you came in with unexpected jab at the wife - zing! Well done, man and I love the unnecessary cuntiness of it all 😏

I hear rents are cheap in South Dakota...

We LIVE in our neighborhoods, but even if you own your own house (which in the Bronx you probably don't), you don't OWN a neighborhood. There are lots of forces at work and over time change is inevitable.
Poor people have few advocates. Nobody likes living near poor people, their schools and neighborhoods suck, and a big part of what sucks is THEM. Everybody lives where they can afford, and if you can't afford someplace, move someplace else you can afford. NO ONE has a right to live everywhere. It sucks, but that's how it goes and has always gone.

Brooklyn and Harlem are gentrified, and there's notorious projects throughout. If huge numbers of gentrifiers choose to settle in The Bronx, they'll just increase the police presence to ensure that the "project people" will stay in their areas.
