WW's

I give them out but can't receive them, curse of an iPad.

What I'd like to know is, when you receive them, do you know which of your posts is being applauded?

What does the notification look like, what does it say?

by Anonymousreply 67March 19, 2018 8:15 PM

And furthermore, why can't I vote in polls?

Thanks.

by Anonymousreply 1July 25, 2017 11:57 AM

It's a gif of Nicole Kidman trying to figure out what clapping is.

by Anonymousreply 2July 25, 2017 11:57 AM

When I get a WW, I get a little notification at the lower right hand corner of my screen. If I click on it, it takes me to the post that was WWed, unless I happen to still be in that thread. I usually try to have several threads open, so if I get a WW, I can go to a thread where I haven't posted and click on the notification, so it either takes me to the post, or opens up a separate tab with the thread and post in question. Don't know about voting in polls: I often vote, but don't post on those threads, but I've never had an issue voting.

by Anonymousreply 3July 25, 2017 12:03 PM

I can do WWs on my iPad. You just need to visit DL more often, then you can do all that fun stuff too, OP.

by Anonymousreply 4July 25, 2017 12:08 PM

I get cash. Muriel puts cash back on the card I used to register.

by Anonymousreply 5July 25, 2017 12:10 PM

Really, R4? I've been here posting for a year now. Thanks to R3, too.

by Anonymousreply 6July 25, 2017 12:10 PM

They PAY ME to come here an interact with you fools.

by Anonymousreply 7July 25, 2017 12:19 PM

If I am on the laptop, I get a message that lasts for a few seconds. If I click on it, it takes me to the thread that I posted in. HOWEVER, it frequently lands on a reply that is not mine.

I am usually on here on my tablet or phone, so I guess I usually forget about the W&W.

I liked it better in the old format when the top W&Ws were in the side bar.

by Anonymousreply 8July 25, 2017 12:24 PM

You get a little popup box in the lower right of your computer screen with fireworks that form a penis in the sky.

Well you don't but you should.

OMG!! I am surely missing out.

by Anonymousreply 10July 25, 2017 12:32 PM

I miss the old way too, you could see funny posts even in threads you didn't open. It was a laugh riot sometimes. Losing that was a mistake.

by Anonymousreply 11July 25, 2017 12:34 PM

Slightly different topic. Is there any way to turn notifications on? I declined them way long time ago, now I'd like to see them.

by Anonymousreply 12July 25, 2017 12:40 PM

R11 I've heard about that feature and would have loved to have seen it. There are some true gems on this board. Why was it removed? I'll wager nobody knows.

by Anonymousreply 13July 25, 2017 12:40 PM

R12 here, just realized Notifications is a browser setting, not a site setting, fixed.

by Anonymousreply 14July 25, 2017 12:41 PM

R12, maybe I did that, too! It's a great hypothesis. Glad you posted.

by Anonymousreply 15July 25, 2017 12:42 PM

For every 10th WW you get a free month on your DL subscription. After 100 WWs, you get a blowjob from Garrett Clayton (some restrictions may apply).

by Anonymousreply 16July 25, 2017 12:48 PM

^Nope. Damn.

by Anonymousreply 17July 25, 2017 12:48 PM

My notifications show up in the lower left corner, not lower right. I use Chrome on a laptop -- is that different from those whose notifications appear in the lower right corner?

by Anonymousreply 18July 25, 2017 12:53 PM

Sorry, I had the notifications turned on a few weeks ago. I did a factory reset on my cell last week and now I can't seem to get those W&W notifications anymore.

Any hints or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

by Anonymousreply 19July 25, 2017 1:08 PM

R19 I just WW'd you. Did you see it?

by Anonymousreply 20July 25, 2017 1:10 PM

How and where do you turn on notifications? I'm working form a laptop through Chrome.

by Anonymousreply 21July 25, 2017 1:11 PM

Is there a daily? weekly? limit to how many W&Ws you can give. Like F&F is 2 or 3, then you can't do it anymore. Ignore user is better.

by Anonymousreply 22July 25, 2017 1:14 PM

And I'm on Safari with the same question as R21. I already went into Settings, clicked Safari, and there were no notification options. I also clicked on Notifications, and there were no options to allow DL notifications, just apps.

by Anonymousreply 23July 25, 2017 1:14 PM

For Firefox it's under Tolls/Options/Notifications. There should be a similar setting in Chrome that lets you turn on notifications for specific sites.

by Anonymousreply 24July 25, 2017 1:15 PM

And I'm on an iPad mini.

by Anonymousreply 25July 25, 2017 1:15 PM

Thanks r20! I stepped away from my phone for 5 seconds. Could you please W &W again? ;)

by Anonymousreply 26July 25, 2017 1:20 PM

Yes of course, I'll do that right now. Let me know if you see it.

by Anonymousreply 27July 25, 2017 1:22 PM

R19, did you see it? Are you dead? Don't be dead, R19.

by Anonymousreply 28July 25, 2017 1:33 PM

R19 must be dead. Poor R19.

by Anonymousreply 29July 25, 2017 1:37 PM

r19 should have coughed up his buck fifty a month.

He has paid the price that someday you, and all your fellow moochers will pay.

by Anonymousreply 30July 25, 2017 1:45 PM

Maybe if I get enough W&Ws, I could move to America!

by Anonymousreply 31July 25, 2017 2:48 PM

For Firefox it's under Tools/Options/Content/Notifications.

R24 your posting was a little confusing

by Anonymousreply 32July 25, 2017 3:08 PM

On Chrome, it's Settings -> Advanced -> Content settings -> Notifications, then change DL from block to allow.

I think.

by Anonymousreply 33July 25, 2017 3:13 PM

R32, not sure what's confusing. If you're using Firefox you can find the Notification settings by selecting the Tools menu item, then Options in the drop down list, selecting the Content tab, and then looking at Notifications.

Or, as I said, the Notification settings are under Tools/Options/Content/Notifications.

by Anonymousreply 34July 25, 2017 3:37 PM

And I don't know why DL hyphenates Notifications like that.

by Anonymousreply 35July 25, 2017 3:54 PM

Unless it just hyphenates any string longer than 30 characters.

by Anonymousreply 36July 25, 2017 3:55 PM

Repeat: WW does NOT work on Apple iOS.

by Anonymousreply 37July 25, 2017 6:14 PM

R37 - Have you gotten a notification about your 37 post? I just W&W'd it on an iPhone 7.

by Anonymousreply 38July 25, 2017 6:27 PM

Yes, r38, I got a notification on my iMac, but YOU cannot receive them on your phone. Just sent one.

by Anonymousreply 39July 25, 2017 6:31 PM

Didn't get a notification, did you, r38?

by Anonymousreply 40July 25, 2017 9:07 PM

OK r33, I'm on Chrome but when I go to Settings it doesn't offer: Advanced>Content Settings>Notifications

Oh what to do??

by Anonymousreply 41July 25, 2017 9:13 PM

[quote] For Firefox it's under Tolls/Options/Notifications.

R34 REALLY you don't understand what is confusing about your post?

Well instead of Tools you wrote Tolls

and you left out going through Content,

THAT is what is so confusing.

by Anonymousreply 42July 25, 2017 11:11 PM

You should probably ditch Chrome if you want the DL W&W experience.

by Anonymousreply 43July 25, 2017 11:12 PM

R41 I don't have Chrome but the R33 is talking about Settings -> Advanced -> Content settings -> Notifications on Chrome not on Datalounge. It is your Chrome settings.

Maybe this link will help, it is about turning off notification, but I bet you can figure out how to turn them on.

"WW's"

No WW for you, OP.

- oh, dear

by Anonymousreply 45July 25, 2017 11:18 PM

Bite me, R45.

by Anonymousreply 46July 25, 2017 11:24 PM

It would be nice if there were a way to thank people for WWs.

by Anonymousreply 47July 25, 2017 11:25 PM

It would be nice if the notifications announced themselves with a musical tone.

by Anonymousreply 48July 25, 2017 11:43 PM

I get money, too. Several times a day, because I'm so delightfully clever. I bought a boat.

Thanks, DL!

by Anonymousreply 49July 25, 2017 11:44 PM

I'm not sure how it works because no one has ever WWed me.

by Anonymousreply 50July 25, 2017 11:46 PM

If you tap into like-minded people, you can rack up plenty. Encourage them to give out WWs by giving them some your WW love.

by Anonymousreply 51July 26, 2017 12:01 AM

Me too R49, but I bought a zoo!

by Anonymousreply 52July 26, 2017 12:31 AM

I have Chrome, and WWs work just fine for me. But, to be honest, it's usually my briefest posts that get WWed. R50, I gave you a WW in the hope that you'll experience that moment when you suddenly want to be goosed by a stranger.

by Anonymousreply 53July 26, 2017 12:35 AM

[quote] It would be nice if the notifications announced themselves with a musical tone.

It would be nice if with a F&F a hand came out and slapped the poster in the face.

by Anonymousreply 54July 26, 2017 1:05 AM

R42, all I can say is ...

I do NOT need one more "musical tone" in my life, TYVM.

by Anonymousreply 56July 26, 2017 2:56 AM

Hey! r56. Fuck ya runnin'!

by Anonymousreply 57July 26, 2017 3:00 AM

"Fuck ya runnin'!"? What the fuck is THAT, asshole?

by Anonymousreply 58July 26, 2017 3:01 AM

[quote]It would be nice if the notifications announced themselves with a musical tone.

That might depend on the operating system. In Windows 10, they do announce themselves. It's sort of a chime, like the one you hear with system notifications like "It is now safe to remove this USB device."

by Anonymousreply 59July 26, 2017 3:15 AM

R41, in Chrome, under "Settings", I see "Advanced" at the bottom of the first page. Clicking that takes you to the second page, where "Privacy and Security" is the first section -- "Content Settings" is the penultimate (!) item on the list under "Privacy and Security".

by Anonymousreply 60July 26, 2017 12:26 PM

Yes, r41, settings in Chrome. Just as r60 describes it.

by Anonymousreply 61July 26, 2017 12:34 PM

[quote]It would be nice if the notifications announced themselves with a musical tone.

Only if Muriel sampled from "The Price is Right".

by Anonymousreply 62July 26, 2017 2:21 PM

[quote]It would be nice if the notifications announced themselves with a musical tone.

They do on Firefox. A sound anyway.

by Anonymousreply 63July 26, 2017 2:32 PM

test

by Anonymousreply 64July 26, 2017 2:57 PM

[quote]They do on Firefox. A sound anyway.

Not on my computer (Windows 7).

by Anonymousreply 65July 26, 2017 3:02 PM

I think people are W&W - ing much more these days - or I'm suddenly considerably funnier...and wiser.

by Anonymousreply 66July 26, 2017 3:10 PM

So what is the point of W&Wing? Does it just send a private notification to the poster that someone liked a post? Shouldn't the rest of us get to see which posts by other people have received W&Ws? I fear I'm missing the good stuff.
