Comey was playing a game of semantics. Lynch didn't attempt to thwart the FBI; she merely asked a less inflammatory term be used. To compare Lynch with Trump, if that was Comey's intent, is ludicrous, and Comey is fully aware of that! The question is, did Comey use Lynch to bolster credibility for his testimony about Trump's remarkably different executive overreach? I'm tending to think that is the case.
