I beg to differ. Downy Woodpecker is the best bird ever, and Chauncey, the Cardinal is a close second. This is known.

These magpies are great. There are other videos of them. Parrot videos have a lot of this same attitude. I'll find a couple to post.

OP here's the juvenile delinquent version of that magpie mindset.

Animals, whatever the species, acting goofy always lifts my heart. Thanks OP.

He’s Chauncy.

I love birds (and all animals). One of my favorite things in the wintertime is to go out and feed the Chickadees. Some of them got so used to me that they would literally eat right from my hand.

Magpies also talk.

Whenever I hear about Magpies, I think of Heck and Jeckle

I thought Heckle and Jeckle were crows! I am corrected. DL is so educational.

These magpies are sure funner than my friends I'll tell you that. Thanks OP!

These guys came to visit. See the link. Can anyone name the initial bird? The one that looks like a Robin with a bad case of Trypophobia? Thank you.

I’m thinking now that it is just a normal Robin. Just has lots of freckles.

by Anonymousreply 11June 25, 2018 5:47 PM

That's a young Robin, R10.

by Anonymousreply 12June 25, 2018 5:49 PM

Thank you, R12.

Here is Chauncey’s gal pal. She came to visit this morning.

Chauncey is still knocking around on a drizzly day. He’s fierce looking!

Sorry for the inferior background. I looked for flowers last weekend, but it’s too early for annuals.

I love watching Australian Magpie videos. They are hilarious birds.

by Anonymousreply 16March 29, 2020 5:46 PM

R16, such as?
