In fact, way too many older people are being over-treated for under active thyroids, in many instances the medications aren't helping because the thyroid condition doesn't need to be treated. I just got off the same thyroid med, Armour. I feel and look great! I found a new endocrinologist, he said I never needed the med in the first place.

More than one TSH test has to be run, most docs don't do that, they base their diagnosis on one TSH test!
