Continuing the discussion of life with Archie and the gang: Jughead, Betty, Veronica, and Slutty Miss Grundy.
Riverdale: The Official Thread -- Part 2

|by Anonymous||reply 1||02/10/2017|
Archie is such a boring AWG I feel sorry for Grundy having to deal with him outside of sex.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||02/10/2017|
Link to Part 1
|by Anonymous||reply 3||02/10/2017|
Archie isn't really a WG, r2. The actor who plays him is half Samoan.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||02/10/2017|
R4 Which is worse... pretender AWG.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||02/10/2017|
I can't help but love the makers who sexualize the hell out Archie like in R1.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||02/10/2017|
R6 People like what they like. Shows like these with pretty mediocre actors would have no appeal otherwise.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||02/10/2017|
R2, just shut the fuck up. I'm so sick of your stupid, arrogant, idiotic "AWG" posts. You are so full of shit. Go away.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||02/11/2017|
Is it just me or is Ethel kind of shifty? The way she slid away when Cheryl shows up during the gang's adventure and then, surprise, being the one who found the book?
I rolled my eyes about the After School special dialoge (these are wonderful, brave, girls ... don't ever call them sluts again!) though.
Could Polly be Jason's reason to fake his own death? Did they want to run off together Romeo and Juliet style because of their parents hating each other?
Alice, Betty's mom, getting slapped at the party was hilariously campy.
I love the show. It's so Twilight (the dark, brooding, teenage angst in a remote town) meets Gossip Girl.
Jughead seemed more fun in this episode, because of his investigative journalism adventure.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||02/11/2017|
Jughead is an aspie right? Too intelligent for this high school shit and has exactly one friend.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||02/11/2017|
Why can TVD and Teen Wolf have so many hot guys and this show has guys that would make Quasimodo flinch?
|by Anonymous||reply 11||02/11/2017|
Finally episode 4 will be Jughead centric. That will allow Cole Sprouse to show his talents
|by Anonymous||reply 12||02/11/2017|
BREAKING! BETTY WITH JUGHEAD! YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
|by Anonymous||reply 13||02/11/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 14||02/11/2017|
The only way it would be BREAKING!!!!! was if it was Archie kissing Jughead.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||02/11/2017|
r2 is a BABG
|by Anonymous||reply 16||02/11/2017|
Eww... are they setting up a Betty/Jughead/Archie triangle? Jughead is best as the detached observer of his friends' craziness, not getting involved in it himself.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||02/11/2017|
R17 I love it! Very True Detective-ish. Their relationship upended by a girl getting in the way of their murder investigation!
|by Anonymous||reply 18||02/11/2017|
R18 They need to hire way better writers and actors to even be mentioned in the same breath as "True Detective".
|by Anonymous||reply 19||02/11/2017|
So its obvious now why Archie and Jughead had a fallout. Its due to Betty.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||02/11/2017|
No r20, it's because they are both bottoms.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||02/11/2017|
R20 That will end my interest in this show... sad.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||02/11/2017|
How many episodes into S2 before they bring in Chris Wood to save this mess?
|by Anonymous||reply 23||02/11/2017|
R23 Even Mr. Wood can't save this mess. He's no Superman. lol
|by Anonymous||reply 24||02/11/2017|
I can't wait for the usual dyke triangle involving Veronica and two of the Pussycats.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||02/11/2017|
Maybe Riverdale will be better than the bad 90s TV movie that NBC about the Archie gang.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||02/11/2017|
Besides her older sister Polly, Betty in the comics has an older brother named Chic who lives outside of Riverdale. I wonder if he'll be a character.
And Jughead has a little sister named Forsythia, who is nicknamed "Jellybean."
|by Anonymous||reply 27||02/11/2017|
Besides her older sister Polly, Betty in the comics has an older brother named Chic who lives outside of Riverdale. I wonder if he'll be a character.
Chic will return to shoot his overbearing mother Alice at some point.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||02/11/2017|
I worship Veronica, Jughead, and the Pussycats. The rest are meh.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||02/11/2017|
Is Ethel the same actress who played Barb on the Netflix series, Stranger Things?
|by Anonymous||reply 30||02/12/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 31||02/12/2017|
Going back to Episode 1 - Jughead said two hearts were broken over the summer. Who? Betty is a definite. Is Jughead the second? Why does he seem so upset that the 4th of July trip was called off?
|by Anonymous||reply 32||02/12/2017|
Who's playing Sabrina? Any photos??
|by Anonymous||reply 33||02/12/2017|
I don't think it's been completely confirmed if Sabrina will appear in season 1. The showrunner says it might happen. But, aren't they close to finish filming season 1? I have the feeling that they will probably cast an unknown Canadian actress for the role.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||02/12/2017|
R34 I think they have finished filming since there was a wrap party just last week.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||02/12/2017|
I wonder if Sabrina will briefly revealed in the finale. Like, maybe Jughead and/or Betty are still investigating something tied to Jason's death and they come across towards the end.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||02/12/2017|
^I meant to type, "they come across her towards the end."
|by Anonymous||reply 37||02/12/2017|
Rumor has it that Sabrina is in the finale.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||02/12/2017|
I'm loving Riverdale... I think most of the casting choices are good, with the exception of Reggie
Can't wait for the next episode.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||02/12/2017|
Me too, r39!
|by Anonymous||reply 40||02/12/2017|
Chris Wood would have been the perfect Reggie.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||02/12/2017|
Do we have a Chris Wood troll now?
|by Anonymous||reply 42||02/12/2017|
Yes, he would...r41!
|by Anonymous||reply 43||02/12/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 44||02/12/2017|
Chris Wood is a total sweetie but he's too old to play a high schooler. Now, a new music teacher who continues with Archie what Ms. Grundy started would be perfect.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||02/12/2017|
Does Jughead seem like he has a crush on Archie?
|by Anonymous||reply 46||02/12/2017|
Chris is too old for high schooler but there are possibilities. Cop, tennis instructor at Riverdale Country Club, Moose's older brother, etc.
Also, I think Chad J Buchanan is being written off Star as an abuser. He'd be a good addition to up the hot guy quotient
|by Anonymous||reply 47||02/12/2017|
R46 Sorry, that is not the direction they are going for...
|by Anonymous||reply 48||02/12/2017|
I want Kevin to go for Archie.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||02/12/2017|
R33, Julianne Moore
|by Anonymous||reply 50||02/12/2017|
So far, Reggie doesn't have a very big part in this.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||02/12/2017|
Does Jughead seem like he has a crush on Archie?
Jughead seems like he has a crush on everyone. What was with that discussion he had with that junior scout? The one where he laciviously ate the cherry from the kid's sundae and snarked, "I saw how you were looking at me."
|by Anonymous||reply 52||02/13/2017|
R52 That scene was so gay! I hope he pulls that flirty move with some of the boys.... Archie, Kevin, Reggie, Moose and make them squirm. His making up scene with Archie was quite flirty as well. Other than Jughead, the show has become a chore to sit through. The murder mystery is already tiresome since it's gonna be dragged out with all kinds of red herring and misdirection.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||02/13/2017|
Jughead grew on me in the third episode. In the first two he came off like a mopey emo douche planning a school shooting in his head. He only came to live (for me at the end of the second episode when he and Archie made up).
|by Anonymous||reply 54||02/13/2017|
arg ... came to LIFE
|by Anonymous||reply 55||02/13/2017|
If Jughead is going to be just another raging hetero, I'm outta here. Kevin's gayness is just too cringe-worthy to watch. What were they thinking?
|by Anonymous||reply 56||02/13/2017|
You might as well bail now R56
|by Anonymous||reply 57||02/13/2017|
Kevin is my least favorite character. I'm dreading the inevitable very special episode where Kevin gets gay bashed at the town gay bar.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||02/13/2017|
Cole is adorable.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||02/14/2017|
Couldn't they have picked a dreamier actor for Kevin Keller?
|by Anonymous||reply 60||02/14/2017|
Isn't he adorable? Does he sound Bi?
|by Anonymous||reply 61||02/15/2017|
Isn't he adorable? Does he sound Bi?
|by Anonymous||reply 62||02/15/2017|
R62 He sounds 110% gay to me. He reminds me so much of Tyler Young from Eyewitness, who also sounds gay but has a girlfriend.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||02/15/2017|
A preview clip of tomorrow's episode.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||02/15/2017|
The Cole Sprouse fan who keeps saying he's the best thing ever has made me start hating Sprouse. When I saw the pic in R64 I immediately felt annoyed by that face. I've never seen Sprouse anywhere else before (or if I have I don't remember it). His presence in Riverdale so far has been minimal, and in no way warrants the countless HE'S TEH BEST THING IN RIVERDALE!!! posts. Newsflash: he's not.
Same happened with Janbot and Janet Jackson. I used to like Janet and I might end up liking Sprouse at some point but when superfans start forcefeeding their obsessions things get rough.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||02/15/2017|
R65 To each his own, but I find most of the other characters boring clones you see in any old teen soap. Only Jughead still has a chance to surprise, but from the spoilers above, it seems he too will become another stereotype. But I will watch the rest of this season to see for myself.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||02/15/2017|
I am impressed with Cole because he can give rather thoughtful answers in interviews.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||02/15/2017|
Doesn't Riverdale's Cole Sprouse have his own thread like KJ Apa? If not, he sure should have.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||02/15/2017|
How Riverdale Cast KJ Apa as Archie:
|by Anonymous||reply 69||02/15/2017|
It's a creepy show. These are supposed to be 15 year old kids, but he has them in scenarios more suited to college Sophomores. The oversexed producer thinks he's making "looking 2".
|by Anonymous||reply 70||02/15/2017|
Jughead will be a more prominent character after episode 4. It will be tragic and I think Cole can pull off the melancholy...
|by Anonymous||reply 71||02/15/2017|
It's a creepy show. These are supposed to be 15 year old kids, but he has them in scenarios more suited to college Sophomores. The oversexed producer thinks he's making "looking 2".
Well, it is CW after all. Sexualizing teens in the entertainment (music - like Britney Spears and her "Oops, I did it again!" songs and videos, books, movies and TV shows, etc.) happens for decades now. It's not really a new development.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||02/16/2017|
Cole is very very vegan. He has these Instagram videos... Good for him I guess.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||02/16/2017|
Isn't he adorable? Does he sound Bi?
What is wrong with you? Seriously.

Episode 4 Sneak Peek #2
|by Anonymous||reply 77||02/16/2017|
Well, Kevin got a pretty hot make-out session.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||02/16/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 79||02/16/2017|
and Jug is homeless?
|by Anonymous||reply 80||02/16/2017|
Skeet looks hot! Glad they got rid of Grundy.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||02/16/2017|
Let me guess Kevin's wrong of the side tracks boyfriend will be dead by the end of the season.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||02/16/2017|
R72 There are teens and there are teens.
Most of the CW characters are younger twenty-somethings. These characters are supposed to be 15. The star character is getting statutory raped by a teacher. They've gone a bit far here. The producer doing pseudo porn in :Looking" was one thing, those characters weren't 15. This is a bit much.
And they're playing games by having the actual actors be older. Again, they should have just set it in college.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||02/16/2017|
The sheriff is hot.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||02/16/2017|
The acceptance of a teacher screwing a pupil is terrible. Too much about the show is extremely annoying. Yet it is dragging me in. The ending with Jughead's dad being the head Serpent shocked me. It was a "Luke, I am your father" moment.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||02/16/2017|
Episode 4 cemented Jughead's status as the most interesting character in Riverdale and Cole Sprouse the stand-out performer.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||02/16/2017|
They need to end the teacher affair, and there should be repercussions for the teacher. It's gross. It's a very bad note, and I don't think the show will survive it.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||02/16/2017|
Nice to see Kevin finally get some action.
|by Anonymous||reply 88||02/16/2017|
Yeah, R87, the entire country is AGHAST at the teacher/student affair, and huge protests will probably shit down production at CW.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||02/16/2017|
They need to end the teacher affair,
They did tonight.
and there should be repercussions for the teacher. It's gross. It's a very bad note, and I don't think the show will survive it.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||02/16/2017|
Was Jughead's dad Skeet Ulrich? I was amazed at how handsome the actor was, but did not recognize him at all.
What happened to Jughead's sister Jellybean (referred to in this episode!) if Jughead is homeless? I can't see the dad caring for her.
I love it when they show Veronica wearing her ridiculous cape.
Madchen Amick has the worst role. Betty Cooper's mom is always practically foaming at the mouth. It's much too over the top, as is Cheryl's snide bitchiness. Veronica called it exactly tonight when she said Cheryl is a character from a teen movie from the 90s, but she herself is not.
|by Anonymous||reply 91||02/16/2017|
I met Chris Wood when he was in the ensemble at Music Theatre Wichita. That is where he got his equity card. A few years later he came back as a equity performer as the Prince in Disney's The Little Mermaid. I remember he was a really nice guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 92||02/17/2017|
What happened to Jughead's sister Jellybean (referred to in this episode!) if Jughead is homeless? I can't see the dad caring for her.
I'm guessing the show will go down the route of Jellybean being in a foster home somewhere and Jughead will try to get her out somewhere.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||02/17/2017|

I agree both are over the top. I was annoyed in the scene where Betty throws a bitch fest on the Andrews door steps. I think the writers are setting up Betty to punished for her nosiness at some point by either having her framed and arrested for Jason's murder or the Grundy imposter returns and goes psycho on her.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||02/17/2017|
I think she'll end up being someone we already know.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||02/17/2017|
I love Jughead here, the only one worth rooting for. And I hated that burger-eating waste of space in the comics. All the other characters are too vapid even by CW show standard.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||02/17/2017|
Jughead's sister=someone we already know.
|by Anonymous||reply 97||02/17/2017|
no respect to CW for the long and lusty kisses between the 2 men?
|by Anonymous||reply 98||02/17/2017|
Will we ever get to see Jughead shirtless or something?!
|by Anonymous||reply 99||02/17/2017|
R98 Didn't really feel it was a good kiss. It came out of nowhere and felt so gimmicky. The guys exchanged one line and the next thing you know they were making out. I did laugh when the sheriff told Kevin, "No cruising for men." Yikes!
|by Anonymous||reply 100||02/17/2017|
Episode 5 promo.
|by Anonymous||reply 101||02/17/2017|
Live rating is steady, which is good news. Not that there is much room to fall...
|by Anonymous||reply 102||02/17/2017|
The guys exchanged one line and the next thing you know they were making out.
So unlike most gay men who hook up in public spaces, who usually have sophisticated discussions about the Renaissance first!
|by Anonymous||reply 103||02/17/2017|
R103 That is a stereotype of gay men. Even for those who "hook up" they get some basic information first.
|by Anonymous||reply 104||02/17/2017|
R104 like cock size? that's the most i usually ask.
|by Anonymous||reply 105||02/17/2017|
Cole Sprouse is amazing! I would watch a Jughead spin-off. He is homeless... Where will he stay?
|by Anonymous||reply 106||02/17/2017|
Jughead will probably secretly move into Betty's house next episode and will be found by the annoying mom at the end.
|by Anonymous||reply 107||02/17/2017|
I don't get it... We see Archie servicing fans by getting shirtless so many times... Why don't we get to see Jughead shirtless?
|by Anonymous||reply 108||02/17/2017|
jug shirtless? skinny and hairless. no thanks
|by Anonymous||reply 109||02/17/2017|
Umm... Have you seen Cole Sprouse's body? Not as muscular as KJ but they have the same body shape.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||02/17/2017|
A sampler of shirtless Sprouse Twinks from 2014.
|by Anonymous||reply 111||02/17/2017|
i'd rather see Luke Perry shirtless than twinky Juggy
|by Anonymous||reply 112||02/17/2017|
R112 No thanks. A 50-year-old should not go shirtless on a CW show.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||02/17/2017|
Chuck is the hot one on this show. Sizzling
|by Anonymous||reply 114||02/17/2017|
Keep those pedo pics off DL
|by Anonymous||reply 115||02/17/2017|
R115 Keep the pedo trolls off DL
|by Anonymous||reply 116||02/17/2017|
R104, are you for real?
|by Anonymous||reply 117||02/17/2017|
[R103] That is a stereotype of gay men. Even for those who "hook up" they get some basic information first.
Spoken like someone who's never had quick hookups. There was nothing wrong with the Kevin make out scene. First of all who the hell knows what those guys talked before getting it on. Although judging by what happened earlier Kevin is a regular slut, and so was the gangbanger. They knew what they were doing. In any case what was shown perfectly fit the show's atmosphere.
I really enjoyed when the sheriff dad (a hottie obviously; I've always loved him) asked Kevin to be careful with his sexapades. I was immediately reminded of Joey Pollari's tragic figure in American Crime. Stay safe Kevin!
|by Anonymous||reply 118||02/17/2017|
R118 Spoken like someone with STD.
|by Anonymous||reply 119||02/17/2017|
Stay safe Kevin!
He can't hear you!
|by Anonymous||reply 120||02/17/2017|
R119 i've never had as STD in my life. but i've had lots of hookups with lots of big dicked strangers.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||02/17/2017|
r92, how many of his co-stars did Chris sleep with?
The show has some strengths. The mood and the cinematography, the actress who plays Betty. But sidelining Archie for four episodes to start the show was bonkers. Also, there's way too much of the parents and way too little of Reggie and Moose.
|by Anonymous||reply 122||02/17/2017|
R122 Sidelining Archie? You mean Jughead, right? Archie had plenty of screen time.
|by Anonymous||reply 123||02/17/2017|
R123, What I mean is sidelined from the rest of the story like Betty even said last night.
|by Anonymous||reply 124||02/17/2017|
That dye job on Apa is horrible. They need to go all out and make him a henna-rincess.
|by Anonymous||reply 125||02/17/2017|
R125, I find his hair color gorgeous. It's very stylized, not exactly realistic.
|by Anonymous||reply 126||02/17/2017|
I liked that there was a break from whiny Josie in episode 4. I'm interested in the storyline with Hermione, the mayor, and the theater land.
|by Anonymous||reply 127||02/17/2017|
It's not a physical resemblance as much as similar mannerisms and tics/expressions but Archie reminds me a lot of James VDB/Dawson Leery.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||02/18/2017|
Excuse me but how is liking Cole Sprouse a pedo? he is 24.
|by Anonymous||reply 129||02/18/2017|
And yet no one here is discussing the show's actual pedophilia storyline, where viewers are supposed to see Alice Cooper as the bad one for stopping a teacher from screwing a 15 year old.
|by Anonymous||reply 130||02/18/2017|
Am I the only one who likes the character Alice Cooper? She would do anything to protect her daughter! She is a great mom!
She even helps Betty with laundry and folding her clothes neatly back into her closet! Mom of the year!
|by Anonymous||reply 131||02/18/2017|
And yet no one here is discussing the show's actual pedophilia storyline,
because there is NO pedophilia storyline. Grundy had sex with a minor, a student of hers. That on its own is controversial enough. No need to drag pedophilia into the mix which means sex with someone younger than 10!
|by Anonymous||reply 132||02/18/2017|
I love that look Mrs. Grundy gave the hot two jocks when she was about to get into her car to drive off. Looks like "Mrs. Grundy's" has a type *lol*.
I love the show. Jughead is really growing on me as a character.
I don't know what it is about Betty. She seems too much of goody two shoes and OMG! she writes about her friends' secrets in her diary which has no lock or is super hidden somewhere from her nosy helicopter parenting mom? Why did she even take Mrs. Grundy's gun with her???? I love her over the top mom. The scene with her, her husband and Archie's father was funny.
I love the dark and intense color pallette that makes Archie's hair pop even more.
The scene of Kevin with his dad in his office gave me total MTV's Teen Wolf vibes with Stiles and his sheriff dad and how they interact with each other (there even was a murder case board with red thread which Stiles used to have in his room).
I love how Veronica's mom set her daughter straight about how it was her father's shady dealings that paid for their luxurious life in New York.
|by Anonymous||reply 133||02/18/2017|
Umm... Have you seen Cole Sprouse's body? Not as muscular as KJ but they have the same body shape.
And because of the lack of muscles I imagine Cole, who's vegan, looks like a mole rat underneath all the clothes. Not everybody has to have a perfect body to wow the audience with a body fit for high end gay porn. Cole's good enough of an actor to dazzle with his acting chops.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||02/18/2017|
Cole..."dazzles with his acting chops"? Aren't you just the height of hilarity, Mary r137? He's passable, but no more than that. And he needs to lose that stupid hat.
|by Anonymous||reply 135||02/18/2017|
All the interiors look as if they've been misted with white air. Not an attractive look.
|by Anonymous||reply 136||02/18/2017|
He's passable, but no more than that.
For CW standards he's practically Emmy worthy.
And he needs to lose that stupid hat.
That's his character's trademark in the comics.
|by Anonymous||reply 137||02/18/2017|
I love the dark and intense color pallette that makes Archie's hair pop even more.
I totally agree. The whole look of the show, with all the neon, is really terrific. Sort of a teen pop-art Twin Peaks thing. It actually makes the tone of the whole show cohere for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 138||02/18/2017|
Anyone watching this on Netflix? Does this show really have international appeal?
|by Anonymous||reply 139||02/18/2017|
I like that they have former teen high school show regulars as conservative adults now (Luke Perry, Robin Givens), like Degrassi (except that the latter just kept the same characters from older eras PF the same show). Are any of the other adults in Riverdale former teen beat stars? That Skeet guy?
Also, am I the only one who thinks Cole Sprouse is too mechanical and sluggish as an actor? No matter how dark or moody the character, he needs to pick up the pace and make it all flow a bit more naturally.
Finally, it's obvious r104 has never experienced bathhouse/rest-stop/peep show/ park style anonymous sex. Not saying it's the only gay option, but it should be tried at least once in life. I try it as often as I can, am in my 50's , and have never had any STD's. As I've said often, it's what you do, not how many times or where you do it.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||02/18/2017|
So who exactly is the owner of the driver-in? If the city can sell it, does that mean zJughead was a city employee? Who hired him and paid his salary?
|by Anonymous||reply 141||02/18/2017|
Jordan Calloway is blazin hot. He is the true Alpha of the show
|by Anonymous||reply 142||02/18/2017|
R140 Is there some bragging right to have a lot of anonymous sex and not get STDs? Those who get STDs are just not doing it right? Ridiculous.
|by Anonymous||reply 143||02/18/2017|
r143, you don't see that as an accomplishment being a man slut and still be STD free? I totally would. If you get an STD that's unfortunate (and not the end of the world), but it's preventable when you are more picky about your partners (don't do druggies, drunks, other messed up characters, get yourself into tricky situations where you can't get out fast enough, etc.) and use condoms.
|by Anonymous||reply 144||02/18/2017|
Since when Cole Sprouse is vegan?! I swear people make shit up
|by Anonymous||reply 145||02/18/2017|
Anyone watching this on Netflix? Does this show really have international appeal?
I'm from Europe and I watch it on Netflix...there hasn't been any kind of promotion for it though
|by Anonymous||reply 146||02/18/2017|
This is definitely getting a renewal. I think it can last for 5 to 6 seasons.
|by Anonymous||reply 147||02/18/2017|
I love this show. Viva Jughead, Veronica, and slutty Kevin.
|by Anonymous||reply 148||02/18/2017|
Amen r143. So, you've escaped the plight most have after they've lived a life of reckless indiscriminate promiscuous sex. I'm glad you are a genetic anomaly who has been shielded from the natural consequences of your recklessness. You stlll engaged in unhealthy behavior that should be discouraged
|by Anonymous||reply 149||02/18/2017|
How are ratings?
|by Anonymous||reply 150||02/18/2017|
Also, am I the only one who thinks Cole Sprouse is too mechanical and sluggish as an actor? No matter how dark or moody the character, he needs to pick up the pace and make it all flow a bit more naturally.
I find him a complete bore. "Sluggish" works well. Jughead seems to be fighting off narcolepsy.
|by Anonymous||reply 151||02/18/2017|
R149 wins today's "Cram it, Churchy" medal.
|by Anonymous||reply 152||02/18/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 153||02/18/2017|
So we should all chime in and report what era Archie comics we read. That may help us understand more the demographics of the opinions here expressed.
And I'll start. I was born in 1960 so many of the Archie comics I read were from the mid to late sixties/early seventies. Betty wore mini skirts and go go boots, Veronica - being more trendy and ahead of the curve -wore bell bottoms and head bands. Reggie wore a scarf, Jughead wore a sweater and a crown, Moose wore football jerseys, Ethel wore a big bow and was flat chested....and Archie still wore 1930's clothes - just like the jalopy he drove (where I learned the meaning of the term) which was from the late twenties.
Oh, and Sugar Sugar was the number one hit of a year that included many rock classics and masterpieces, so the Archies were the rage and their morning cartoon show was not to be missed.
|by Anonymous||reply 154||02/18/2017|
Born in 1997. Never read the comics
|by Anonymous||reply 155||02/18/2017|
R154 There was a cartoon show? Missed all that... all I know of Archie universe is the love triangle and Jughead's love of burgers. Never heard of Reggie or Ethel or Dilton. I do know Kevin Keller since I read his comics when they came out a few years ago, except TV Kevin is not much like comic Kevin other than being gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 156||02/18/2017|
Vulture recaps Episode 4. Their day-after reviews of Gossip Girl were almost as good as the show.
|by Anonymous||reply 157||02/18/2017|
To the people complaining about Cole... Are you guys watching the same show? His performance is the only one with any flair AT ALL! The rest is just usual CW grade acting.
|by Anonymous||reply 158||02/18/2017|
I'm not really complaining about him, R158. I just don't see his performance rising above anyone else's. I don't see flair. I see sleepiness.
But then, Jughead was pretty sluggish in the comics. He hardly ever opened his eyes, IIRC.
|by Anonymous||reply 159||02/18/2017|
R159 To be fair Betty gives the best performance. Cole gives the coolest character. The rest is bland.
|by Anonymous||reply 160||02/18/2017|
I don't think this interview was ever posted in this thread. It's a nice read.
|by Anonymous||reply 161||02/18/2017|
HIS bod is boss
|by Anonymous||reply 162||02/18/2017|
R160 All I see is bland Betty overacting when she wants to sound crazy, but not as much as her mom who looks like a mean bulldog or that campy mayor.
|by Anonymous||reply 163||02/18/2017|
I like how so far Archie isn't really the main character especially since he's so bland. I still wish Reggie had a more prominent role.
|by Anonymous||reply 164||02/18/2017|
He's passable, but no more than that.
For CW standards he's practically Emmy worthy.
So, you're in complete agreement.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||02/18/2017|
So according to Cole Sprouse beginning from episode 8, Jughead will be the most prominent character in the show! He will sink to a dark place...
|by Anonymous||reply 166||02/18/2017|
Is Cole Sprouse a DL poster?
|by Anonymous||reply 167||02/18/2017|
Jughead's iconic hat in the comics is not a 'crown": it's what used to be called a "whoopee cap." George Lindsey used to wear one on "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Mayberry RFD."
|by Anonymous||reply 168||02/18/2017|
R167 He is as straight as they come
|by Anonymous||reply 169||02/18/2017|
On Riverdale they've cut up a knit beanie in whoopee cap fashion and added buttons and tags on it to approximate Jughead's famous hat.
|by Anonymous||reply 170||02/18/2017|
R168, whatever it's called, the thing Cole Sprouse is forced to wear looks like something that died on his head.
|by Anonymous||reply 171||02/18/2017|
Way to miss the point, Cole. I mean...R169.
|by Anonymous||reply 172||02/18/2017|
R172 I don't promote myself... Its my publicist's job and NO, neither me or my team are on DL.
|by Anonymous||reply 173||02/18/2017|
Cole seems like someone who would use "me" as the subject of a sentence.
|by Anonymous||reply 174||02/18/2017|
Dear eldergays here, would any of you do Luke Perry? The Luke Perry in Riverdale
|by Anonymous||reply 175||02/18/2017|
Not I, R175. Cheesedick.
|by Anonymous||reply 176||02/18/2017|
r175 in a heartbeat!
|by Anonymous||reply 177||02/18/2017|
Luke Perry? Hell yeah!
|by Anonymous||reply 178||02/18/2017|
What an embarassing post-modernist mess.
|by Anonymous||reply 179||02/18/2017|
Which part, R179? And why "post-modernist"?
|by Anonymous||reply 180||02/18/2017|
R180 The entire show. If they wanted to go in this direction, they should've done it as an animated series on Netflix.
|by Anonymous||reply 181||02/18/2017|
Animated would have sucked, R181. I'm enjoying Riverdale, but I think of it more as Flyovia Gossip Girl than Archie Comics.
|by Anonymous||reply 182||02/18/2017|
R182 "Flyovia Gossip Girl" is exactly what I thought, too. Of course, Archie comics is much older than the Gossip Girl books.
|by Anonymous||reply 183||02/18/2017|
Since KJ Apa ships Archie/Betty. I wonder if the Riverdale writers would make it endgame. I could see them having a series finale where Veronica dies saving Archie. Archie and Betty marry and have a baby girl and name her Veronica.
|by Anonymous||reply 184||02/18/2017|
R184 Oh please, Veronica can do so much better than Archie. The ending will have Veronica be living it up in NYC (taking Kevin with her), while Archie and Betty will still be stuck in Riverdale with their brats.
|by Anonymous||reply 185||02/18/2017|
R149, all that prissy judgmentalism is going to send you to an early grave, and all that looking-down-your-nose over things you don't know and have never experienced is going to positively [italic]ruin[/italic] your eyesight.
|by Anonymous||reply 186||02/18/2017|
The endgame will be B and V running off to NYC together. In the absence of scripted, female companionship, Archie and Jughead will spitroast Kevin.
|by Anonymous||reply 187||02/18/2017|
R187 That's Kevin's daydream.
|by Anonymous||reply 188||02/18/2017|
Is Kevin into guys like Jughead? At first I thought he so isn't but then he hooked up with the gang member guy in the latest episode. Before that it rather looked like he's into the hot, wholesome jock type (Archie, Moose, etc.).
|by Anonymous||reply 189||02/18/2017|
R189 Kevin is too young and horny to have a type yet. Anyone who's interested has a shot with him.
|by Anonymous||reply 190||02/18/2017|
Kevin's type generally has a penis and likes to point it in his direction.
|by Anonymous||reply 191||02/18/2017|
And what about Jughead, would he be into Kevin? Who am I kidding, now that Jughead is homeless he'll probably put out for Kevin for a warm meal and a roof over his head.
|by Anonymous||reply 192||02/18/2017|
R192 That's a scenario I can live with. Jughead rooming with Kevin and Sheriff Keller giving them the side-eyes thinking they are together no matter how they deny it.
|by Anonymous||reply 193||02/19/2017|
R193 That warrants a 90 minute feature...
|by Anonymous||reply 194||02/19/2017|
Jughead rooming with Kevin and Sheriff Keller giving them the side-eyes thinking they are together no matter how they deny it.
r193, that's a great idea. It could be a playful dig at shipping (wanting or believing two characters belong together).
|by Anonymous||reply 195||02/19/2017|
And, as always, the character they try to portray as the coolest is a writer or aspires to be one. When will Hollywood writers stop being so unimaginative and self-congratulatory?
|by Anonymous||reply 196||02/19/2017|
r196, same goes for Archie "Dad, I wanna be a musician! I don't want to take over your construction company or be a jock playing football! I have a real, authentic artistic soul! Please Daddy, set me free!".
|by Anonymous||reply 197||02/19/2017|
DL has really surprised me. I thought KJ would be the breakout because he is traditionally hot and sexy, but you all seem to be going for Cole's Jughead. Interesting.
|by Anonymous||reply 198||02/19/2017|
R198, don't be fooled by a couple of Sprouse fangirls. I'm sure they are behind most of the Sprouse posts.
|by Anonymous||reply 199||02/19/2017|
I don't know what is going on in this thread specifically, but one obsessed poster can make a big visual impact on the DL.
|by Anonymous||reply 200||02/19/2017|
R198 Cole is hot and sexy too....
|by Anonymous||reply 201||02/19/2017|
Watching in Europe no previous connection with the comics. And probably far to old 35. But like it
|by Anonymous||reply 202||02/19/2017|
Archie's uncut, right? We all know Cole is cut, since his brother did those nudes. KJ Apa - New Zealanders - are they usually uncut? If so, awesome.
|by Anonymous||reply 203||02/21/2017|
Kevin looks like this version of the comic book Kevin, but with dark hair.
|by Anonymous||reply 204||02/21/2017|
I liked the hot-dog joke (Kevin wanted a hot dog at the drive in, but they were out, "figures," he says, looking at a couple making out).
|by Anonymous||reply 205||02/21/2017|
Archie's uncut, right?
Well, Mr. Andrews is, so...
|by Anonymous||reply 206||02/21/2017|
Archie's uncut, right?
This is actually going to turn into a major plot point as the season progresses. Stay tuned!
|by Anonymous||reply 207||02/22/2017|
Shit, they are not finding Archie's foreskin in Jason's mouth, right? That would be really gross even for CW!
|by Anonymous||reply 208||02/22/2017|
What was up with that Miss Grundy Lolita moment, complete with heart shaped sunglasses??
|by Anonymous||reply 209||02/22/2017|
That cut or uncut thing reds like a Monty Python skit.
|by Anonymous||reply 210||02/22/2017|
R209, they were showing that she has a strong appetite for younger men, and wasn't totally broken by being forced to leave and no longer see Archie - that she's not at all innocent-minded.
|by Anonymous||reply 211||02/22/2017|
Someone has put the lines from the show into the old comics. Pretty funny.
|by Anonymous||reply 212||02/22/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 213||02/23/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 214||02/23/2017|
In episode six, we find out that Jughead's hat is a knit monument to Archie's erstwhile foreskin.
|by Anonymous||reply 215||02/23/2017|
I didn't understand Kevin's "The Talented Mr. Ripley" line. Was it a joke?
|by Anonymous||reply 216||02/23/2017|
Why is Betty's mom's station wagon ancient?
|by Anonymous||reply 217||02/23/2017|
Kevin gives his dad something called a "High Point" in a mug. What's that?
|by Anonymous||reply 218||02/23/2017|
Where is Kevin's mother?
|by Anonymous||reply 219||02/23/2017|
Kevin's such a pushover - Cheryl makes him get more popcorn and he just goes.
|by Anonymous||reply 220||02/23/2017|
Kevin is adorable
|by Anonymous||reply 221||02/23/2017|
Archie was so butch tonight!
|by Anonymous||reply 222||02/23/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 223||02/23/2017|
R223, playing football.
|by Anonymous||reply 224||02/23/2017|
R218, a brand of instant decaffeinated coffee
|by Anonymous||reply 225||02/23/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 226||02/23/2017|
R223/R226, are you lost?
|by Anonymous||reply 227||02/23/2017|
Why is Betty's mom's station wagon ancient?
I think they are trying to do a vintage throwback to the comics. Bates Motel kind of did a similar thing with a throwback to Psycho by having Norma Bates driving an ancient car.
|by Anonymous||reply 228||02/23/2017|
All the cars are old.
|by Anonymous||reply 229||02/23/2017|
I like that the show has figured out why this characters would actually hang out together (which is always surprising in the comic book). Archie and Betty are neighbors; Archie and Jughead are childhood friends; Betty and Jughead are on the student paper together; Kevin wants to be faghag to the prettiest girls in school, Betty and Veronica, and they bond over their mutual friendship with him and being cheerleaders together.
|by Anonymous||reply 230||02/23/2017|
They really do have to work on making the dialogue more subtle. Cheryl's father might as well have been twirling a Snidely Whiplash mustache while being mean to Veronica at the dinner table by making her re-live the day her father was arrested,
|by Anonymous||reply 231||02/23/2017|
What about Natasha Fatale having lost her favorite ginger moose so now she wants to eat her baby squirrel?
|by Anonymous||reply 232||02/23/2017|
I loved the idea of "Thorn Hill" (great name for the Blossom family home!) as a Gothic setting, with old Grandma Blossom as the nightmare within it. The ridiculously over-the-top bright red edges to her white hair's top curls were so much in keeping with the aesthetic of this show, as was the obvious contact lens to create her cast in one eye.
I also love that there's a "Dynasty" or "Dallas" like family feud at the heart of all of this and the empire at the hart of it was built on... maple syrup.
This show is really hilarious.
|by Anonymous||reply 233||02/23/2017|
"heart," not "hart"
|by Anonymous||reply 234||02/23/2017|
Richie from Looking was in this episode!
|by Anonymous||reply 235||02/24/2017|
Jughead is amazing. I wish we can just watch the adventures of Jughead and Betty...
|by Anonymous||reply 236||02/24/2017|
When that Pussycat gave Archie the number of that music guy I was so hoping Kevin would've quipped something like "Now try not to sleep with him." Unfortunately didn't happen. *sigh*
|by Anonymous||reply 237||02/24/2017|
the new music guy certainly had a gay vibe going. even going do far as to say "i don't think you'd get the same from me as Ms Grundy"
|by Anonymous||reply 238||02/24/2017|
Kevin has the funniest lines.
|by Anonymous||reply 239||02/24/2017|
the new music guy certainly had a gay vibe going. even going do far as to say "i don't think you'd get the same from me as Ms Grundy"
Doesn't that mean the reverse?
but the new music guy was very hot.
|by Anonymous||reply 240||02/24/2017|
The character of Archie is unusual for a show like this. He's self-centered, and obsessed with furthering his music career so he can get out of Riverdale. He has a sexual vibe with the girls who are more exotic to him (Miss Grundy, Veronica when she first came to town, now Val), but he just doesn't seem to connect with anyone else. But it's weird to have him at the center of the show, since he's less connected with people than any of the other major characters.
|by Anonymous||reply 241||02/24/2017|
And once again Archie's first scene in the latest episode is him being all sweaty and shirtless. Like it's some identifier: This episode's gonna be good!
So the Blossoms and the Coopers have a family feud going and along come Jason and Polly falling head over heels in love. They want to run off together. It's very Romeo and Juliet. Was Polly faking a suicide (like Jason) and her dad mistook it for real or did he find out about Jason and sent her away because of being crazy in love with Jason?
If Jason was really in love with Polly that can only mean that the football team's score book is fake. And who found the score book? Ethel. I think Ethel went Misery on Jason and tortured and killed him (maybe by accident).
|by Anonymous||reply 242||02/24/2017|
Is Betty's father that cute guy from comedy movies like White Chicks?
|by Anonymous||reply 243||02/24/2017|
Lochlyn Munro is Betty's dad. He was cute years ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 244||02/24/2017|
I just hope we get to see Jughead shirtless
|by Anonymous||reply 245||02/24/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 246||02/24/2017|
Thanks, R246. OMG they're referencing brands that ... don't exist anymore? It's like the old cars... weird present/retro styling or something. That's cute, though, that Kevin makes instant coffee for his dad.
|by Anonymous||reply 247||02/24/2017|
Jughead didn't have a lot to do this episode, which made it really a chore to get through. There was that cute scene where Cole did his cute side-eye smile when Betty complimented on how he looked in that suit (where did a homeless boy get a suit?). Really don't care about Archie's music. Football scenes were only tolerable for the tight uniforms. The funeral was actually anti-climatic, really expected Cheryl to go batshit the way the episode was building up to it.
|by Anonymous||reply 248||02/24/2017|
R248 You forgot the part Jughead stared with jealousy when he found out Betty is going on a date? He loves her.
|by Anonymous||reply 249||02/24/2017|
R249 No, I did not see that. Don't ruin my gay Jughead fantasy!
|by Anonymous||reply 250||02/24/2017|
More of the Archie trying to sing storyline next week... pass, and Pussy Cat fighting... pass, Veronica pissed off about something... pass. Only looking forward to Jughead and Nancy Drew... I mean Betty playing detectives. Trying to get through this season, but this show is sinking fast for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 251||02/24/2017|
R251 Its gonna get renewed any day now. Average of 1.22 million viewers.
|by Anonymous||reply 252||02/24/2017|
Have they mentioned any other retro things/brands?
|by Anonymous||reply 253||02/24/2017|
R252 Yeah, it will probably get renewed because it fills a niche in the CW superhero-saturated network.
|by Anonymous||reply 254||02/24/2017|
Kevin has severe forehead lines.
|by Anonymous||reply 255||02/24/2017|
No wonder Kevin likes to offer it. He must be obsessed with those commercials. I want him to do his Lauren Bacall imitations to Betty and Veronica. (He could do it to Cheryl, but I'm sure she already travel in a Rolls Royce with a lamp inside).
|by Anonymous||reply 256||02/24/2017|
It's like the writers are consulting DL to write Kevin's dialogue.
|by Anonymous||reply 257||02/24/2017|
the new music guy certainly had a gay vibe going.
the new music guy was very hot.
Raúl Castillo played Richie on Looking.
|by Anonymous||reply 258||02/24/2017|
The showrunner is gay--I am sure the High Point reference was an inside joke to his friends who love the Lauren Bacall commercials.
|by Anonymous||reply 259||02/24/2017|
Am I the only one who assumed Polly is sent away because she's knocked up?
|by Anonymous||reply 260||02/24/2017|
R260 I thought that too. Maybe Polly will turn up with redhead baby by the end of the season.
|by Anonymous||reply 261||02/24/2017|
R258 I was half expecting Richie from Looking to proposition Archie... To find out if Archie sucks as much as his music.
|by Anonymous||reply 262||02/24/2017|
Betty reminds me so much of Alicia Silverstone.
At some point, they're going to introduce us to Polly, having Betty and probably Jughead going to visit here. I guarantee that the psychiatric hospital she's in will rival Gotham's Arkham Asylum in gothicness and spookiness.
|by Anonymous||reply 263||02/24/2017|
I loved the creepy grandma in the episode.
|by Anonymous||reply 264||02/24/2017|
Have they mentioned any other retro things/brands?
Pop's diner is one big retro-center, complete with tall strawberry milk shakes, waitresses in skirt uniforms, and neon-deco counters/booths.
The cheerleaders' gym uniforms are a total throwback to the 1970's. Those thin-lined gym shorts, two-toned mid sleeve shirts and tube socks were classic pre-disco.
|by Anonymous||reply 265||02/24/2017|
This will be my favorite moment when it shows!
|by Anonymous||reply 266||02/25/2017|
Does anyone else find all the girls on this show to be...goofy looking?
|by Anonymous||reply 267||02/25/2017|
R266 Ew... Bughead! Obviously this ship is not meant to sail. Why is this show going there? Also, Jughead and Veronica are always at each other's throat in the comics. They seem too friendly on the show.
|by Anonymous||reply 268||02/25/2017|
Emo Jughead is kinda cute in that clip.
Does anyone know what's going on with the girls' eyebrows on this show? They all look like strips of duct tape. Is this an aesthetic choice?
|by Anonymous||reply 269||02/25/2017|
TBH the ratings for this show is kinda... disappointing. Thank God for Netflix!
|by Anonymous||reply 270||02/26/2017|
Archie's hair 😄
|by Anonymous||reply 271||02/26/2017|
I find it interesting that Archie's only credit other than Riverdale is playing in NZ soap Shortland Street...
As for the girls, Betty and Veronica both have unusual almond shaped eyes.
|by Anonymous||reply 272||02/26/2017|
Veronica has really beautiful eyes
|by Anonymous||reply 273||02/26/2017|
R272 KJ's lack of experience shows in his one note acting.
|by Anonymous||reply 274||02/26/2017|
KJ was cast for showing off his and being able to show the audience that lost puppy look where you either forgive him or feel sorry for him.
|by Anonymous||reply 275||02/26/2017|
for showing off his ABS!
|by Anonymous||reply 276||02/26/2017|
For fuck's sake they were casting Archie Andrews not fucking HAMLET. Some of you queens need to lower your standards for CW shows.
|by Anonymous||reply 277||02/26/2017|
Mark Rylance for Archie!
|by Anonymous||reply 278||02/27/2017|
The CW is showing episode 1 tonight at 9.
|by Anonymous||reply 279||02/28/2017|
Which "Riverdale" Character Are You? Take this fun quiz!
|by Anonymous||reply 280||02/28/2017|
I got Kevin too.
|by Anonymous||reply 281||02/28/2017|
Must be rigged. I got Kevin too.
|by Anonymous||reply 282||02/28/2017|
Has anyone seen these queens' recaps? They might be better than the show
|by Anonymous||reply 283||02/28/2017|
I got Betty.
|by Anonymous||reply 284||02/28/2017|
I got Jughead

I got Veronica. Hmm.
|by Anonymous||reply 286||03/01/2017|
r272 The actor originally had a rugby scholarship and was going to be rugby player before he decided to be an actor and hasn't been acting that long.
|by Anonymous||reply 287||03/01/2017|
I got Kevin Keller, too. Surprising in that there were no questions about sucking cock.
|by Anonymous||reply 288||03/01/2017|
You are a responsible, protective person who always wants what is best for the ones you love. Don’t be afraid to put yourself first sometime. And remember, you are a TV show character played by Luke Perry. LUKE PERRY!
|by Anonymous||reply 289||03/01/2017|
When will they announce renewal?
|by Anonymous||reply 290||03/01/2017|
When will they announce renewal?
They usually do that at Carousel, don't they?
|by Anonymous||reply 291||03/01/2017|
I am just here for Cole Sprouse, I feel the show kinda lost steam after ep 2 BUT they are focusing more on Cole now.
|by Anonymous||reply 292||03/01/2017|
He will be pleased, R292.
|by Anonymous||reply 293||03/01/2017|
R293 He is very attractive.
|by Anonymous||reply 294||03/01/2017|
R294 Are you the Cole Sprouse troll from the first thread?
|by Anonymous||reply 295||03/01/2017|
R287 Thanks for the info, I didn't know that. I think he plays the role really well
|by Anonymous||reply 296||03/02/2017|
I hate the Josie daddy issues storyline.
|by Anonymous||reply 297||03/02/2017|
Looks like a Jughead centric episode next week. Lots of Jughead angst. Can't wait.
|by Anonymous||reply 298||03/02/2017|
Does anyone on this show not have a violently conflicted relationship with their parents?
|by Anonymous||reply 299||03/02/2017|
Jessica Lange should just bow out--the great performance by an actress as Joan Crawford this year is Madchen Amick as Mrs. Cooper. It's hysterical.
|by Anonymous||reply 300||03/02/2017|
Will they ever explain why Jughead is named "Jughead"? His ears don't stick out.
Josie and the Pussycats singing Donna Summer was amazing.
|by Anonymous||reply 301||03/02/2017|
Valerie looks like she's 40
|by Anonymous||reply 302||03/02/2017|
I wish they could tone down the product placement. Not only do we see the show's actresses putting on Cover Girl in the ads, but then they had huge closeups of Josie's Cover Girl eye makeup. It's over the top.
|by Anonymous||reply 303||03/02/2017|
R303 Yes, very annoying. Guess they think it's mainly teenage girls watching this show.
|by Anonymous||reply 304||03/02/2017|
How was it last night? Looking for ratings...
|by Anonymous||reply 305||03/03/2017|
R300, Mädchen is surprisingly versatile. I remember her being a bit one note in Twin Peaks but when I saw her after a long while in Witches of East End it was like she'd matured as an actress as well.
|by Anonymous||reply 306||03/03/2017|
I thought yesterday's episode was pretty boring, especially the Archie singing sotryline. I actually fell asleep after streaming half of it, and still haven't finished watching it. R305 Rating was better than last week's, which was a season low.
|by Anonymous||reply 307||03/03/2017|
Does anyone on this show not have a violently conflicted relationship with their parents?
Kevin seems to get along with his dad, Sheriff Keller, pretty well.
|by Anonymous||reply 308||03/03/2017|
I loved the WTF???? expression on her Dad's face while Josie was performing. You'd think a musician would be more open minded about stage performances when it involves his own daughter. I think her mom, the mayor, is deliberately setting her up to drive father and daughter apart.
It surprises me how much I get drawn into the murder mystery plot about Jason and what really happened to him.
The whole Cooper family is crazy. And yes, that includes Betty (remember the scene where she nearly drowns the guy in the whirlpool while pretending to be someone else?).
KJ Apa didn't really sing on stage, did he? It would be way too crazy that the show lucked out and he can actually sing when he is a total newbie.
Valerie, Hayley Law, seems nice, but it surprises me that the show doesn't pair Archie up with either Betty or Veronica right away.
|by Anonymous||reply 309||03/03/2017|
Cole Sprouse is the standout again! I wish Jughead seals the deal with Betty!
|by Anonymous||reply 310||03/03/2017|
R310 I dread Bughead. I would rather see Jughead kiss Hot Dog.
|by Anonymous||reply 311||03/03/2017|
Madchen stole the whole episode with the way she said "Jughead".
|by Anonymous||reply 312||03/03/2017|
Archie's "music" sucks
I hate the "Look at meeeeee! I'm a serious artiste!" plotline
|by Anonymous||reply 313||03/03/2017|
R312 I kept thinking she was gonna molest Jughead when she got him to the bathroom...
|by Anonymous||reply 314||03/03/2017|
Cole Sprouse is the standout again!
I love how you see things so differently than anyone else.
|by Anonymous||reply 315||03/03/2017|
No comments about the ridiculousness of a 15-year-old being asked to sign legal documents?
I like Archie and Valerie together.
|by Anonymous||reply 316||03/03/2017|
Archie, despite the great body, is the blandest, least interesting character on this show.
|by Anonymous||reply 317||03/04/2017|
R317, Archie's a nice guy. They could make him stand out more if they wanted to but it seems they don't. I don't have a problem with Archie's blandness, if you can even call it that, and personally I find characters like Jughead and Betty way less interesting. Not that I don't care about them but I like Archie more. I like his singing and I like his smile, and the way he's basically a very good guy. My only wish would be to make him fall in love with Kevin but that's not gonna happen.
And as we all know the show's called Riverdale, not Archie. BTW, where did Moose go? The show's concentrating a bit too much on the teen girl drama now, although I guess that's the demographic they're after.
|by Anonymous||reply 318||03/04/2017|
Archie is kind of a self centered dick. In the latest episode he has no problem with dumping Veronica, who generously offered to join him on stage to conquer his stage fright, for Valeri, who quit Josie and the Pussycats for him. Then he gets all puppy dog cute when Veronica throws a temper tantrum and you never get the feeling his character is really sorry and he acts all cute and wounded. He kind of stumbles around in life like an elephant in a China Shop and others around him forgive him way too quickly because he's all cute and sow-ry.
I don't know exactly where they are going with his character, but I think he could turn out to be a mass murderer and some fans and his peers on the show still forgive him for being all cute and "aw, shucks!".
|by Anonymous||reply 319||03/04/2017|
In the latest episode he has no problem with dumping Veronica, who generously offered to join him on stage to conquer his stage fright, for Valeri, who quit Josie and the Pussycats for him.
And then he has the nerve to decide that he doesn't need anyone on stage with him anyway and pushes Valerie back to join Josie and the Pussycats acting all benevolent for doing so.
|by Anonymous||reply 320||03/04/2017|
R319/R320, I'm sorry but if that's all you got from Archie's actions then you sound like a man-hating lesbian who can't stand that females don't always come first. Archie was trying to be nice and you somehow manage to turn it around like it's all his fault.
This show is starting to get way too teen-girly for my liking. I might have to ditch it.
|by Anonymous||reply 321||03/04/2017|
They should just spin-off Betty and Jughead. Arche's subplot is dragging the show down.
Since you positioned the show as a mystery Twin-peaks style, you should ditch the annoying "I love music" angle. Everyone should be trying to solve the murder.
|by Anonymous||reply 322||03/04/2017|
This show is terrible. It doesn't deserve to be renewed.
|by Anonymous||reply 323||03/04/2017|
It's an extremely boring show for me when it's just highschool drama. The murder mystery gives it a more adult edge, and Jughead is more like a cynical adult stuck in a teenage body, which makes him more relatable. I think I will just fastfoward through all the Archie scenes from now on.
|by Anonymous||reply 324||03/04/2017|
We are so glad you have chosen to "fastforward," r324. Maybe you won't show up here to whine as often.
|by Anonymous||reply 325||03/04/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 326||03/04/2017|
R324, taping "Riverdale" every week on his trusty VCR, telling his cats "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
|by Anonymous||reply 327||03/05/2017|
Last night, I had a dream that Jughead and Reggie were actually the same person, that Jughead had DID like Viki Lord Buchanan. The Reggie actor's face was just a disguise Jughead wore. Someone tore it off and underneath was Jughead/Cole Sprouse's face.
|by Anonymous||reply 328||03/05/2017|
I was impressed by how much young Betty resembled teenaged Betty or is this some kind of new fangled TV trickery that I've never heard or seen before??
I recognized the voice of the actress who played Polly but did not figure out how she was until I googled her... she played in the Saved by the Bell TV movie (Elizabeth Berkley)
The same goes for Veronica's mother - Marisol Nichols looks so different... her cheeks seem puffy and she has new teeth or something. The only reason why she seemed familiar was her eyes and occasional expressions...
|by Anonymous||reply 329||03/07/2017|
Marisol Nichols is too young-looking to play Veronica's mother (unless she had her when she was ten).
|by Anonymous||reply 330||03/07/2017|
Marisol is especially too young-looking to play a contemporary of Dylan McKay. I guess Shannen Doherty was too busy having cancer, so she couldn't play Hermione.
|by Anonymous||reply 331||03/07/2017|
Marisol Nichols is 44 so it's feasible for her to be Veronica's mother, but yes there is a 7 year difference between her and Luke Perry.
|by Anonymous||reply 332||03/07/2017|
WOW! Cole Sprouse is NOT skinny at all! He has a great body. Not to mention his nipple!
|by Anonymous||reply 333||03/07/2017|
No comments about the ridiculousness of a 15-year-old being asked to sign legal documents?
Not to mention being allowed to block a business deal for refusing to sign said documents.
|by Anonymous||reply 334||03/07/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 335||03/07/2017|
Another link about the renewal.
|by Anonymous||reply 336||03/07/2017|
Cole is skinny but hot. I adore him.
|by Anonymous||reply 337||03/07/2017|
R337 The only thing disappointing about Cole is that he's not gay. lol
|by Anonymous||reply 338||03/07/2017|
So happy it's being renewed!! It's the only show I watch week to week... which is kind of weird when I think about it.
|by Anonymous||reply 339||03/07/2017|
Is Sabrina the Teenage Witch going to be introduced in season 2?
|by Anonymous||reply 340||03/07/2017|
Only on DL could there be a Cole Sprouse troll.
|by Anonymous||reply 341||03/07/2017|
The writer/producer tweeted this! Is he gay? Shirtless Jughead tonight!
|by Anonymous||reply 342||03/09/2017|
Frowny Jughead vs. Deadbeat Dad
|by Anonymous||reply 343||03/09/2017|
Without knowing which writer/producer R342, it's hard to say
|by Anonymous||reply 344||03/09/2017|
R344 Aren't most of them over at CW gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 345||03/09/2017|
R344 It's Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Yes, he's gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 346||03/09/2017|
R346 Do you think he might be a bit attracted to Cole?
|by Anonymous||reply 347||03/09/2017|
juggie's dad has the letter jacket! what?
|by Anonymous||reply 348||03/09/2017|
Why is it off for three weeks?
|by Anonymous||reply 349||03/09/2017|
The idea of Skeet Ulrich as Cole Sprouse's dad is very good casting. Genuinely believable.
|by Anonymous||reply 350||03/10/2017|
R333, that's called skinny, dude
|by Anonymous||reply 351||03/10/2017|
I think Polly's and Jason's baby is best kept far away from both the Cooper and Blossoms family.
|by Anonymous||reply 352||03/10/2017|
Called it a few weeks back Jughead is the standout of the show
|by Anonymous||reply 353||03/10/2017|
Is that really saying much when it's a cw show???
|by Anonymous||reply 354||03/10/2017|
Anyone else thinks Luke Perry got hotter as the episodes progresses?
|by Anonymous||reply 355||03/10/2017|
J'adore Cole Sprouse.
|by Anonymous||reply 356||03/10/2017|
R355 No, he looks ragged, but the voice is still sexy at least.
|by Anonymous||reply 357||03/10/2017|
What's funny is this brand new show can't even equal the ratings of Supernatural on its 12 seasons. It probably would have been canceled without its Netflix connection.
|by Anonymous||reply 358||03/10/2017|
EVERY small town has at least one club that gets packed on weeknights and allows 15-year-olds in quicker than you can say raid, right?
|by Anonymous||reply 359||03/11/2017|
Fuck Archie, Kevin and/or Jughead. I want Mr. Jones' snake deep inside me.
|by Anonymous||reply 360||03/11/2017|
What's funny is this brand new show can't even equal the ratings of Supernatural on its 12 seasons.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
|by Anonymous||reply 361||03/11/2017|
The Cole Sprouse troll finally sold me on Cole's good looks. But only in the Pleasantville ripoff scene and post-shower.
LOSE THE HAT, FORSYTHE.
|by Anonymous||reply 362||03/11/2017|
R362 I suggest Riverdale High School set a no hat inside classrooms policy.
|by Anonymous||reply 363||03/11/2017|
I love the cheesy opening sequence (with the whole what is family monologue) from the latest episode with Jughead wearing the comic style hat of his comic character.
|by Anonymous||reply 364||03/11/2017|
R364 I would rather watch that show, Jughead in Pleasantdale.
|by Anonymous||reply 365||03/11/2017|
Fuck Archie, Kevin and/or Jughead.
Well, if you insist...
|by Anonymous||reply 366||03/12/2017|
Jughead in Pleasantdale.
Could be some mystery show about which one is real and which one is a drug induced dream. Riverdale or Pleasantdale?
Kind of like the show Awake starring Jason Isaacs in 2012.
|by Anonymous||reply 367||03/12/2017|
Cole Sprouse has a great body
|by Anonymous||reply 368||03/12/2017|
Queerty agrees R368
|by Anonymous||reply 369||03/12/2017|
R369 Seriously Cole Sprouse is objectively beautiful, I don't understand why you are labelled a Cole troll for stating that here
|by Anonymous||reply 370||03/14/2017|
Why is there a break in episodes? I was so looking forward to my Friday fix of Riverdale :/
Also, has anyone noticed how good Skeet Ulrich looks, even when he's falling down drunk? Red eyes? Who cares?
|by Anonymous||reply 371||03/18/2017|
R371 I know, what a big mistake. When you only have ten episodes, you don't take an hiatus to lose what little momentum you got. But since it's already renewed, I guess CW doesn't really care about ratings for this season anymore.
|by Anonymous||reply 372||03/18/2017|
There will be 13 episodes, and the delay is so the last couple will air during May sweeps.
|by Anonymous||reply 373||03/18/2017|
It's the hat, R370.
|by Anonymous||reply 374||03/18/2017|
Cole Sprouse is good, but the real standout on the show has been Camila Mendes as Veronica.
|by Anonymous||reply 375||03/18/2017|
I like Camila, too.
|by Anonymous||reply 376||03/18/2017|
Camila is my favorite too. I like her much more than the actress who plays Betty. I want to ship Veronica/Archie.
|by Anonymous||reply 377||03/18/2017|
Camila overacts too much, not as bad as the adults but still irritating.
|by Anonymous||reply 378||03/18/2017|
Everyone in the show is a better than the block of wood they have playing Archie. And yes, Skeet is fucking hot.
|by Anonymous||reply 379||03/18/2017|
I think they probably didn't want to compete with the NCAA basketball tournament either.
|by Anonymous||reply 380||03/18/2017|
Yes, because the same audience watching Riverdale is obsessed with basketball
|by Anonymous||reply 381||03/18/2017|
R381 LOL! Not to mention the show has an average 1.1 mil live audience. How can it get any worse? Besides most people stream it at their own time anyway.
|by Anonymous||reply 382||03/19/2017|
r382, it's all about how it looks to adverisers who still cling on to the Nielsen ratings system as measurement of whether they should buy ad time for a show or not.
|by Anonymous||reply 383||03/19/2017|
R383 And it will still be dead last against the other major channels when it comes back after the hiatus. That will impress those advertisers.
|by Anonymous||reply 384||03/19/2017|
The deal they have to put the episodes on Netflix the next day must muddy the ratings waters for this show, though.
|by Anonymous||reply 385||03/19/2017|
He's nowhere near good-looking enough to make up for his horrific acting, R370. Wtf was that last scene with his dad? I feel kinda sad for the once promising Skeet Ulrich having to play second fiddle to this talentless kid whose best attempts at emotion end up looking like indigestion.
|by Anonymous||reply 386||03/19/2017|
Sprouse isn't the best actor, but he's still ahead of Apa, who has a beautiful body but is a charisma-less void.
|by Anonymous||reply 387||03/19/2017|
Well, Sprouse does get much better material to work with. Archie's such a bland and lifeless character so far. Not to mention an idiot... A budding musician who's never heard of Dylan. I kind of like the actor though, I'm not even sure why. He has zero sex appeal to me, and as an actor he's unremarkable at best. Maybe Apa just comes off that much better to me the more I suffer through Sprouse's grating, belaboured emo act.
|by Anonymous||reply 388||03/19/2017|
Apa isn't a great actor but I'll give him credit for doing a good American accent.
|by Anonymous||reply 389||03/19/2017|
Apa is like Tyler Posey of Teen Wolf... cast only for his looks and not much else. Tyler improved over the years but is still a mediocre actor next to Dylan.
|by Anonymous||reply 390||03/19/2017|
R389 I agree with you on the accent. I don't think I've heard slip him so far.
|by Anonymous||reply 391||03/19/2017|
There's no way to know if Apa is a good actor or not. He hasn't been given anything to act.
|by Anonymous||reply 392||03/20/2017|
Old Archie innuendo:
|by Anonymous||reply 393||03/25/2017|
If you want to see his acting skills in something other than Riverdale
|by Anonymous||reply 394||03/25/2017|
Skinny-dipping, only it's Archie and Jughead, not Kevin and Moose, and no corpse is found.
|by Anonymous||reply 395||03/25/2017|
On one level, I understand what you mean about Apa's acting, but every now and then he gets that look in his eye and he has a moment which makes me think he's not so bad.
|by Anonymous||reply 396||03/26/2017|
Archie and Jughead definitely need to skinnydip.
|by Anonymous||reply 397||03/26/2017|
So wait... a group of 16 year old boys can just walk into a biker bar?
Nobody asks for any ID?
|by Anonymous||reply 398||03/30/2017|
In the world of TV, unless it's part of the plot they never ask for ID.
|by Anonymous||reply 399||03/30/2017|
Sad that Jughead's "boyfriend" is just playing & using him.
Interesting that Moose wasn't jealous or anything.
|by Anonymous||reply 400||03/30/2017|
Jughead should wear a tank top all the time. It makes the ridiculous plot watchable barely.
|by Anonymous||reply 401||03/30/2017|
I loved the return of the creepy grandma.
|by Anonymous||reply 402||03/30/2017|
Why can't Luke Perry shave his neck?
How does Mrs. Cooper afford such expensive clothes on the salary of a newspaper editor?
Why does Archie always seem like an ancillary character on his own TV show? You would think the central character of the show was Betty--she and Jughead get more lines and screen time than anyone else.
|by Anonymous||reply 403||03/30/2017|
How does Mrs. Cooper afford such expensive clothes on the salary of a newspaper editor?
Her clothes don't look that nice.
|by Anonymous||reply 404||03/30/2017|
Don't the Coopers own the paper?
|by Anonymous||reply 405||03/30/2017|
R405 I think it was mentioned in the second episode that they owned the paper. In the comics, didn't Reggie's dad own the paper?
|by Anonymous||reply 406||03/30/2017|
So is this episode worth watching? Are they any closer to solving the mystery?
|by Anonymous||reply 407||03/30/2017|
No closer, R407... but lots more info discovered and secrets revealed to all. So it was satisfying in a way.
|by Anonymous||reply 408||03/30/2017|
I didn't say her clothes look nice; I said they look expensive.
|by Anonymous||reply 409||03/30/2017|
r400: you mean Kevin, not Jughead
|by Anonymous||reply 410||03/30/2017|
Why isn't Archie taking off his shirt anymore?
|by Anonymous||reply 411||03/31/2017|
Jughead looked so scrawny with the tank-top in those construction site scenes For me that was (unintentionally?) funny.
I like the mix of younger teen and older soap drama. I am so loving Mädchen Amick's scene chewery.
|by Anonymous||reply 412||03/31/2017|
Whatever it is (scar?) between Archie's eyebrows is really distracting.
|by Anonymous||reply 413||03/31/2017|
R412 Jughead in tank top was the highlight of this very boring episode. I hate the pregnant sister storyline. Such a freaking boring estrogen fest. A baby shower for a baby who has a dead drug dealing teenage daddy? How trailer trash can one get?
|by Anonymous||reply 414||03/31/2017|
It looks as if every room has been pumped full of white air. It's the mistiest-looking program I've ever seen. I'm enjoying it, but what's with the whitened air?
|by Anonymous||reply 415||03/31/2017|
Archie comes across terribly but I don't think it's Apa's fault. There are moments where he's really good like a few episodes ago when he talked about how he proposed to Betty in 2nd grade. Given the emphasis on Archie's music, I think they had some music plotline planned but scrapped it when Grundy went over like a lead balloon with test audiences.
|by Anonymous||reply 416||03/31/2017|
The teen construction crew segment had to be one of the gayest things ever on television.
|by Anonymous||reply 417||03/31/2017|
When they all had their hard hats on it looked like a gay porn movie
|by Anonymous||reply 418||03/31/2017|
Kevin's boyfriend taking Kevin and Moose, the guy Kevin used to hook up with, to a bar with no commentary about the relationship between the three of them seemed a little odd. No way that happens without someone saying something.
|by Anonymous||reply 419||04/01/2017|
I started out caring about the murder mystery but the show has managed to make me not care any more. With this level of writing, I don't trust the answer to the mystery to make any sense, anyway.
|by Anonymous||reply 420||04/01/2017|
I think solving the mystery will involve Grundy coming back. That whole plotline tied up way too quickly and neatly.
|by Anonymous||reply 421||04/01/2017|
I've also heard that Reggie was supposed to play a bigger role but he was cast in other things and they didn't want to up him to the main cast or recast so they had to rewrite that part of the plot too.
|by Anonymous||reply 422||04/01/2017|
Yeah, the guy who plays Reggie also has a role on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. He's hot, tall, and half Indonesian.
|by Anonymous||reply 423||04/01/2017|
R413 I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thinks that. I find myself staring at the scar and missing important parts of the plot :/
|by Anonymous||reply 424||04/02/2017|
Kevin is too young and horny to have a type yet.
I had a type when I was his age: 27 year-olds. It never changed, unfortunately.
|by Anonymous||reply 425||04/02/2017|
Same here, R425. When I was a pre-teen gayling, I was attracted to 27 year olds. When I was in high school... same. College... same. In my 30s, same. 40s, same. It's kind of sad. But my "types" (there are many physical types) all are around 27 years old and always have been.
|by Anonymous||reply 426||04/02/2017|
Cole Sprouse should be shirtless, in a tank top, or bare ass nekkid every episode. I quite adore him.
|by Anonymous||reply 427||04/02/2017|
All the guys should R427
|by Anonymous||reply 428||04/02/2017|
Cole Sprouse has been good in this series (though he ahs not emerged as the star--Camila Mendes has); but I just don't find him attractive at all.
|by Anonymous||reply 429||04/02/2017|
R429 Cole has a ratty face if you look at it objectively, but his youth and personality make it attractive somehow.

Call me shallow, but the two week break kind of cooled off my obsession with Riverdale.
|by Anonymous||reply 432||04/03/2017|
You're not the only one, R432.
|by Anonymous||reply 433||04/03/2017|
R432 The break broke the momentum of the storyline, and the boring ass writing doesn't help... who gives a fuck about some baby shower? Dumb move for CW. Rating is still anemic. Then again, there is not a lot of room to go any lower.
|by Anonymous||reply 434||04/03/2017|

|by Anonymous||reply 435||04/03/2017|
R435 The network's name is The CW.

Never heard of CW
|by Anonymous||reply 439||04/03/2017|
R439 Sorry, dear. Good night.
|by Anonymous||reply 440||04/03/2017|
The CW is referred to constantly on this forum... it's the network with all the super hero shows (SuperGirl, Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow) as well as all the teen soapy shows, and the network whose sole purpose seems to be to cast beautiful young hot guys.
|by Anonymous||reply 441||04/03/2017|
The last thing the CW did that was worth watching was Gossip Girl.
|by Anonymous||reply 442||04/03/2017|
If all the rumors are true about the Grundy storyline and Ross Butler's availability, then it's a miracle it's as good as it is.

Ross Butler isn't available to be the town fug? Pity.

If a two week break was enough to make you hate a show.....you must hate every show on tv because almost all of them have breaks in between episodes
|by Anonymous||reply 445||04/03/2017|
They write all of these shows for an imaginary 20-25-year-old twat audience. ALL of the shows. So it's no surprise they stories, acting and filming are all contributors to the big piles of shit the shows become.
|by Anonymous||reply 446||04/03/2017|
What a SHOCKING revelation! You mean THE WHOLE TIME I was watching all these CW shows and they are for people with vaginas? Fuuuuuuck!
|by Anonymous||reply 447||04/03/2017|
If a two week break was enough to make you hate a show.....you must hate every show on tv because almost all of them have breaks in between episodes
When they're spreading 22 shows across an entire tv season yes, but Riverdale is only a 13 episode run... it would probably have been better to put them on uninterrupted, especially when it's a soap opera kind of thing.
It didn't affect the rating particularly -- the episodes before and after the break had the same numbers (which aren't good but then I think a lot of people are watching it on Netflix).
|by Anonymous||reply 448||04/04/2017|
I am so used to Netflix binging shows (on Netflix, for example) that the regular once a week schedule (or several week long breaks) feel like being cockblocked. Yeah, Mary!
|by Anonymous||reply 449||04/04/2017|
so sad that you babies are so spoiled that you have to WAIT a whole week to watch the next episode. young man, in my day we had to wait and wait. and change the channel by actually getting out of our chairs! life was so much harder then.
|by Anonymous||reply 450||04/04/2017|
Ugh, Molly Ringwald is up next week as Archie's mom. Couldn't they have found some other washed up ginger actress to play the mom?

I-Zombie is not bad - or wasn't. I am not sure i am going to like the plot of this year, but too early to tell.
|by Anonymous||reply 452||04/06/2017|
R452 I would say Gossip Girl was not that great. The characters were set up well in the first couple of seasons, but then drifted for years before giving us a flat reveal as the ending.
|by Anonymous||reply 453||04/06/2017|
The show has become so stylized its become a bit bizarre. The whole thing with the Blossoms wearing different shades of red when they're with each other got to be a little much (as did Cheryl's omnipresent spider pins--get the message? She's scheming!).
There are a lot of great things about the show, but I hope over the summer they retool it a bit. I'd like to see Archie made a bit less of a total idiot (he is the most naive character on the entire show), for the color schemes to be less stylized, and for it to become much less about feuding families and more about the teenagers themselves.
I can't even keep track of the family feuds now. Let's see,:the Coopers have hated the Blossoms (and vice-versa) for decades (why Betty's mother, who was not born a Cooper, should care is beyond me); but the Blossoms are also stepping on the Andrewses; and the Lodges (or at least Hiram Lodge with the help of his wife) are fighting with the Blossoms; and the Muggses now also hate the Lodges. And the Andrewses have a love/hate thing with the Joneses.
I wonder who Big Moose's and Dilton Doily's parents hate.
|by Anonymous||reply 454||04/06/2017|
Maybe I am WAY overthinking it, but I wonder if Alice's "I want my daughter back" tirade wasn't about Polly but the baby Hal forced her to abort?
It's more than obvious that the Blossom parents prefer Archie over the their own daughter. They see Archie as someone they could groom into becoming Jason2.0 . I wouldn't be surprised if they are scheming to adopt him and either killing his dad or forcing the dad to give up his son.
The show has become so stylized its become a bit bizarre.
I like that. It gives the show some serious campy vibe (like it gives the whole show an almost Alice in Wonderland surreal fantasy feel) with the audience being slapped on the head with a rolled up newspaper.
I felt so cockblocked when Archie stopped the guy from taking his trouser measurements. LOL. But Mary! I swooned when Archie showed up in those hot and fitted, very well put together, clothes running after Valerie at the end (shame that she didn't take him back).
|by Anonymous||reply 455||04/07/2017|

Yeah, the family feud storylines are starting to be annoying as fuck. Alice hating the Blossoms was probably drilled into her by her husband. It's been said that the Blossoms have done other shitty things to other people in town and so that could play into Alice's hate towards them. I predict that the Blossoms' various misdeeds which might include being responsible for Hiram's imprisonment will come to light before the season ends and they end up losing everything.

|by Anonymous||reply 465||04/08/2017|
I kind of forgot Archie and Valerie were dating, and not just friends. They didn't do anything to develop her character.
|by Anonymous||reply 466||04/08/2017|
They need a serious rewrite for him.
Lifelong Archie Comics fan here. Archie was the boy scout, he was never interesting in his own right. He was just a good guy who girls were drawn to because he was essentially a good guy, but all the interesting stuff happened to those who were around him.
|by Anonymous||reply 467||04/08/2017|
Archie is Kermit The Frog; the sane Everyman at the center of the crazies.
|by Anonymous||reply 468||04/08/2017|
I like they stylized-ness. Where else on TV am I going to hear the word "viridian"?
I didn't mind the ending of Gossip Girl. Who cared, really, who Gossip Girl was?
|by Anonymous||reply 469||04/08/2017|
I didn't really care who it would be, R469, but the ending just opened up a bunch of unnecessary plot holes. I know, plot holes on a CW show...who cares? I usually wouldn't, but this was all just too annoying to be worth that silly reveal.
|by Anonymous||reply 470||04/08/2017|
Really, R362? I think the hat does wonders for his looks, such as they are. He's got such an oddly shaped head, looks much better when most of it's hidden.
|by Anonymous||reply 471||04/08/2017|
I could not have cared less about "plot holes." I don't even remember them.
|by Anonymous||reply 472||04/08/2017|
R472, I don't remember them now either. I definitely remember it annoying me at the time. You could see them lazily spitballing before the finale... "hmmm, let's see, which character, any character, would make a shocking Gossip Girl... " Such a dim and unnecessary "surprise twist". I like my CW trash to rest on some sort of plan, however flimsy. To be fair, though, most of these shows lose their way after 2 or 3 seasons, GG was no exception.
But Riverdale is going nowhere fast even for CW standards. Hoping they surprise in these few remaining episodes, but next season seems guaranteed to be an embarrassing flop, unless Roberto whatsisname's S2 talk has all just been trolling for some much needed publicity. What a truly abysmal year the CW's been having.
|by Anonymous||reply 473||04/08/2017|
It's kind of sad actually. I was hoping Riverdale would make it. I really miss the teen dramas and hate all the superhero stuff.
|by Anonymous||reply 474||04/08/2017|
Maybe Riverdale could become a superhero show. Jughead could have the ability to become invisible, but not his clothes, which would leave him naked in awkward places.
|by Anonymous||reply 475||04/08/2017|
Well, since Sabrina The Teenage Witch is coming in the finale and season 2... it'll practically be a super hero show.
|by Anonymous||reply 476||04/08/2017|
There are online theories that the introduction of Sabrina will turn the show into an adaptation of Afterlife with Archie comic series.
|by Anonymous||reply 477||04/08/2017|
Who they need to bring on his Alexander and Alexandra Cabot.
|by Anonymous||reply 478||04/08/2017|
They're barely utilizing the characters they already have. It was the Betty and Veronica show, then the Betty and Jughead show, now it looks like they've finally given Archie some semblance of a storyline. Meanwhile, Kevin's Joaquin thing and Josie's whatever are happening totally off screen...
|by Anonymous||reply 479||04/08/2017|
Moose needs a storyline, too
|by Anonymous||reply 480||04/08/2017|
They can revive the Kevin/Moose storyline
|by Anonymous||reply 481||04/08/2017|
Who they need to bring on his Alexander and Alexandra Cabot.
In a way I wish those two would have been brought on since the beginning instead of the Blossoms.
|by Anonymous||reply 482||04/08/2017|
Were the Blossoms part of any Archie comic book?
|by Anonymous||reply 483||04/08/2017|
R483 IIRC, The Blossoms were introduced in the comics sometime in the 90s.
|by Anonymous||reply 484||04/08/2017|
I don't know if I read it here or in the comment section of AV Club, but the reason why Archie is so strangely apart from the whole murder mystery plot and the gang is that his storyline with Grundy was supposed to go a lot longer, but the test audience hated it so they cut it short and had to scramble with his character after Grundy left the town. I think that's why he comes off as such a doofus stumbling from one mess into the next.
|by Anonymous||reply 485||04/09/2017|
They should bring back Grundy and make her very psycho. It would be good campy fun.
|by Anonymous||reply 486||04/10/2017|

The disappearance of Josie is odd especially how she was featured quite a bit a in the first few episodes. I have the bad feeling that if or when Sabrina the Teenage Witch is brought on, the writers will probably push her offscreen after a few episodes like they did with Josie. Is the CW secretly planning a Josie and the Pussycats spin off?
|by Anonymous||reply 487||04/13/2017|
I like the actor and the character for the most part, but I am kind of tired of Jughead's whining and moping and no one understands me etc.

Well, there're the Blossoms.
|by Anonymous||reply 496||04/14/2017|
They should have made Jughead and paired him with Joaquin.
|by Anonymous||reply 497||04/14/2017|
A character with more than two lines an episode being gay, R497? That's just not how Riverdale rolls!
|by Anonymous||reply 498||04/14/2017|
I want them to bring in Midge, Moose's girlfriend as a character--they've mentioned her but I don't think they've showed her yet. I want to see how she handles knowing that Moose is bi.
Ethel is a bit of a saint--I'm glad Shannon Purser is now in nearly every episode because she's a superb actress and I like the idea of having an overweight but well dressed female character. I hope they give her more to do.
This episode was kind of silly, because it made absolutely no sense that Archie would allow the entire school into his house for a kegger (especially knowing how Jughead feels about parties), or that he wouldn't have thrown Cheryl out once she started playing the hateful secret revelation thing. It just doesn't seem very believable to me anyone lets Cheryl do anything, since none of the core characters are afraid of her and most of the other kids at Riverdale HS seem to hate her.
|by Anonymous||reply 499||04/14/2017|
Cheryl is a flaw in the storytelling, R499. She's not even that pretty.
|by Anonymous||reply 500||04/14/2017|
This episode was kind of silly, because it made absolutely no sense that Archie would allow the entire school into his house for a kegger (especially knowing how Jughead feels about parties),
Archie is, well, simple (three musketeers, really?). He was so crushed about his dad signing the divorce papers that he got drunk before Jughead even showed up and turned into an even bigger tool when he tried to reconcile with Valerie.
The show is total catnip for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 501||04/15/2017|
That kiss between Jaquin and Kevin was so embarrassingly bad. Rob Paco locked his lips so tight that not even a single atom could get pass them. Had to laugh when FP (Skeet Ulrich) said something about Jaquin having his tongue in Kevin's mouth. I mean if that wasn't some bitchy snark.
|by Anonymous||reply 502||04/15/2017|
Sorry, the character is called Joaquin.
|by Anonymous||reply 503||04/15/2017|
At least Archie's tits were back this week.
|by Anonymous||reply 504||04/15/2017|
Everything about Riverdale's gay storylines (if you can even call them that) is laughable, R502. They might just be the worst thing on this terrible, terrible show.
|by Anonymous||reply 505||04/15/2017|
I desperately need Jughead and Joaquin to explore each other's holes.
Next week I expect Kevin to ask Veronica if Archie's carpet matches his drapes.
|by Anonymous||reply 506||04/15/2017|
[R502} Yeah, I noticed the locked lip thing too....kinda sad in this day and age.
|by Anonymous||reply 507||04/16/2017|
Well, if you recall, Joaquin is not really supposed to be gay, but just playing Kevin for info. So the lame kiss kind of makes sense.
|by Anonymous||reply 508||04/16/2017|
How far is Joaquin taking the gay act? Do we think he's buttfucking Kevin? Getting his hole eaten? Inquiring minds want to know.
|by Anonymous||reply 509||04/16/2017|
Did they ever explicitly state Joaquin wasn't gay? I know he's only pretending to Kevin's bf, but couldn't he still be gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 510||04/16/2017|
They've never said he wasn't gay. I assume he is.
|by Anonymous||reply 511||04/16/2017|
I assume Joaquin's a street kid type who can go either way, but it would be funny if he falls for Kevin.
|by Anonymous||reply 512||04/16/2017|
I think on some level, he does like Kevin. He feels badly for leading him on.
I love how in this universe the gay thing is a complete non-issue for everyone. Even the local biker gang doesn't seem to mind.
|by Anonymous||reply 513||04/16/2017|

I just read a spoiler and it turns out Jughead's cock is responsible for Jason Blossom's murder. I can't wait for the big reveal.
|by Anonymous||reply 515||04/17/2017|
Based on the last episode it looks like Alice and FP have history. This was probably what Alice was talking about when she told Betty not to tell Jughead all her secrets like she told Betty's father. Hal probably knows about whatever it is Alice and FP are hiding.
I've read people speculate that Polly is really FP's daughter. I think it's more likely that the child Hal had Alice abort was FPs.

The episode where all the guys went to work for Fred, I was both amused and horrified at Kevin mouthing "I LOVE YOUR SHOES!" to Hermione.
|by Anonymous||reply 518||04/20/2017|
Cole Sprouse is not a good actor, but somehow he seems to exude a large amount of latent sexuality. Listening to his interviews, he's so smart and funny. It's amazing how well he turned out as a human being having been a child actor. It would be fun to go a gallery with him and then get in his pants.

It just came back from a break. Why do they keep killing the momentum?
|by Anonymous||reply 522||04/20/2017|
|by Anonymous||reply 523||04/20/2017|
R523 Exactly, this show is as dead as Jason Blossom's corpse.
|by Anonymous||reply 524||04/20/2017|
And every bit as gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 525||04/21/2017|
I, for one, am sad about the break? Why do they do this?????
|by Anonymous||reply 526||04/21/2017|
R526 That's a mystery in itself. Not like the ratings will improve by doing it, and worse, it ends up alienating the few fans the show still does have.
|by Anonymous||reply 527||04/21/2017|
So I've just binged the show in two days and I absolutely love it! Not an American and not familiar with the Archie comics but I have suffered through my share of bad high school drama, i.e. ten seasons of fucking Smallville!
The writing is so crisp and tight and I never cringed once which is very unusual for a CW [italic]and[/italic] a Berlanti show. Even the slower plots (Archie's stint with the Blossoms) don't bother me that much.
The casting of models still bugs though, but I guess the casting couch at CW wants what it wants. The only below average actors so far seem to be Esther and Joaquin so there must be some hidden wisdom in that cum-drenched couch of theirs.
The only thing that made me queasy was Jughead kissing Betty. I'm sorry but I don't buy him as a straight guy [italic]at all[/italic]. And hearing that fans are shipping those actors in real life is just gross to me. Can we maybe value professionalism above wish fulfilment? Perhaps I'm just too old for shit like that.
I've never seen a single thing with the supposedly legendary Molly Ringwald in it so I'll be curious to see what she brings to the table.
|by Anonymous||reply 528||04/22/2017|
R528 I find everything about this show cringe worthy at this point. The acting and the writing have taken a disappointing turn. Too many pointless characters and subplots. Should just concentrate on the high school kids. Solve that goddamn murder mystery and move on.
|by Anonymous||reply 529||04/22/2017|
I think at the beginning there was just the introduction and the potential for interesting character development and plots, but it seems to some the writers already wrote themselves into a corner with the plots and characters being all over the place or just underdeveloped (where's Josie?).
|by Anonymous||reply 530||04/22/2017|
R530 The show is too ambitious trying to encompass a host of characters and simmering family feuds in the town of Riverdale. Better writers might be able to pull it off, but this CW level of writing just makes the show seem scatterbrained and pointless.
|by Anonymous||reply 531||04/22/2017|
R529 I think the show [italic]is[/italic] concentrating on the kids, with the murder mystery being just another vehicle for character development.
Perhaps it's because I'm older and I'm not too interested in the daily lives of these kids but I love the little twists and turns and the subplots more than the main story. To be honest, if the show didn't have the murder mystery, I wouldn't even be watching it as I can't identify with them anymore.
|by Anonymous||reply 532||04/22/2017|
Who cares, r530? That's got to be the least interesting side plot.
|by Anonymous||reply 533||04/22/2017|
R532 Nothing wrong with a murder mystery when done right. Except at this point, I don't even care who killed a pointless character like Jason Blossom. The show has written him into just a pawn or victim of old family feuds with no real characterization to make anyone care. What's worse the whole Blossom family is portrayed as so odious and screwed up you end up thinking Jason is better off dead anyway.
|by Anonymous||reply 534||04/22/2017|
R534 Oh, Jason is definitely better off dead and I couldn't care less who the murderer of that non-entity is either. I meant that the road taking us to that final revelation is interesting to me and also just how intertwined everything is. I would even be fine with not ever getting the final reveal at all.
R533 I like Josie's singing but they made her a ballbusting superbitch so I can't really warm up to her. Yes, I know, her dad is to blame for her being like that, but still. You can't really root for people like that so easily, can you?
|by Anonymous||reply 535||04/22/2017|

|by Anonymous||reply 536||04/25/2017|

Mainstay? Reggie was barely there.
|by Anonymous||reply 538||04/25/2017|
I think making the Pussycats an all black group kind of diminished them and separated them from the rest of the gang. They were better as a multi-racial group. One black, one white, one Asian would have been a good mix. The one that was with Archie seemed stereotypically angry and militant, which also doesn't help. The red-haired chick has too much screen time. No one cares about her. They need to kill her off and pump up Reggie. It's crazy to have a Riverdale without Reggie. He should be the primary male character second to Archie. Kevin might has well not even be on the show. He's being used as just accompaniment. He should be the school slut, constantly being caught pulling train for the football team. If you've cast Casey Cott's mouth and throat for your show, you should be using them.
|by Anonymous||reply 539||04/25/2017|
It's crazy to have a Riverdale without Reggie. He should be the primary male character second to Archie.
I wouldn't use the word "primary." He was a pain in the ass. It's Archie's world. Jughead probably comes in as #2 male. THEN Reggie.

I agree with you on Josie and the Pussycats. It should have been a multiracial group. I didn't mind Valerie who with Archie. I liked her more than Josie.
I liked Cheryl at first. She has too much screen time. Someone upthread mentioned Alexander and Alexandra Cabot from the comics, they should have been been in this show instead of the Blossoms.
Also Kelly Ripa's fugly husband will be playing Veronica's dad in season 2.
His character bugged me on AMC and I don't think he will be winning any Oscars in the near future, but I always thought Mark was pretty good looking.

Well, I for one am tired of having either the gay sex-crazed cumslut trope or the sexless gay best friend trope in my TV shows. Kevin has clearly said (to his dad!) that he hooks up with guys at the river bank and was shown doing so [italic]in the very first episode[/italic], and is currently in a relationship with another guy. So we have a sex-positive gay guy who's also capable of being in a committed (and passionate) relationship. In [italic]high school[/italic]. When the majority of gay guys are closeted and most certainly not dating other guys their age.
I don't know about you, but I'm pretty fucking satisfied with that kind of representation on TV. I like my gay characters to be multifaceted, just like real people.

On one hand I am happy for Ross Butler being in such demand. On the other I'm sad that he will not get play Archie's arch nemesis and go head to head with him.
|by Anonymous||reply 545||04/25/2017|
I would like Kevin to have a storyline.
Ross Butler is the very emblem of Meh.
|by Anonymous||reply 546||04/25/2017|
I think recasting Reggie really depends on where they're taking the character. Evil prep? Smart alec Prankster? Start the Reggie/Veronica/Archie triangle?
|by Anonymous||reply 547||04/25/2017|
Reggie and Archie should be taking turns climbing off of Veronica while Betty the prude preserves her flower. The show needs more realism.
|by Anonymous||reply 548||04/25/2017|
No great loss, Butler wasn't really right for Reggie in my opinion.
|by Anonymous||reply 549||04/25/2017|
I'm going to sound like a gigantic racist, but I'm not.
I hate that they made Josie and Melody black. I hate that they made Reggie Asian, but at least they have the opportunity to fix that now. And I was fine with Veronica being Latina, because I thought she was half Latina. Now they've cast Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge. I do hope they explain how this Hispanic family got an English surname.
I get diversity and I love diversity, but Archie already had diversity. There was Chuck and Nancy and Valerie. And quite frankly, Josie and her gang were rarely part of the Archieverse. I like the show, I'm not going to stop watching the show, but they messed up some things.
|by Anonymous||reply 550||04/25/2017|
Why do they go to the trouble of dyeing KJ's hair and then hardly care at all about how any of the other characters match their classic appearance? Unless they give Consuelos white hair, he doesn't fit Hiram Lodge.
|by Anonymous||reply 551||04/25/2017|
Did anyone notice that maple sugaring in Riverdale starts in the beginning of winter and not at the end of winter? Where is Riverdale if the thugs could be imported from Montréal? I've never met a Hiram who wasn't Jewish yet on Riverdale he's Hispanic.
I was fine with Reggie. He wasn't even noticed that much since the role was trimmed because of 13 Reasons Why. I would have like to see more Moose. The mayor, Josie's mother, was a useless character as was Miss Grundy.
|by Anonymous||reply 552||04/25/2017|
I still think Grundy ends up involved in Jason's death. She was disposed of way too quickly and cleanly.
|by Anonymous||reply 553||04/25/2017|
"I'm going to sound like a gigantic racist, but I'm not."
Yeah, you do sound like a gigantic racist
|by Anonymous||reply 554||04/25/2017|
I still think Grundy ends up involved in Jason's death. She was disposed of way too quickly and cleanly.
I'm also thinking she was involved. I recall some article that said that test audiences hated the Grundy storyline and that was why she was written off quickly.
|by Anonymous||reply 555||04/26/2017|
It would be some real stupid cop-out for Grundy to be the murderer after the show went through so many suspects who are still on the show.
|by Anonymous||reply 556||04/26/2017|
Pretty bland episode. Betty's mom working for the high school paper is really stretching it. Is that something that happens in U.S. high schools?
Joaqin continues to rest on pretty but those dead eyes are starting to really creep me out. Kevin's lines when he was dancing with him were bizarre. It's like he was looking into Joaquin's eyes but relaying exposition to the audience. We know you've been hooking up with guys and we also kinda surmised this is your first "serious" boyfriend. Maybe don't waste precious dialogue on already-covered grounds? And the actor playing Jughead should start opening his mouth more when he speaks; there's a vaguely muffled static accompanying all his lines.
I can't even remember what else happened; it was [italic]that[/italic] boring.
Also, this was my first contact with Molly Ringwald. She seems tired.
|by Anonymous||reply 557||04/28/2017|
That "Kids in America" segment. I have no words. And some of the dialouge. So very terrible. It's like the writers talk down to the audience like making the actors talk really slow and use really simple words so the stupid teen audience will understand.
|by Anonymous||reply 558||04/28/2017|
I liked the Kids in America segment, but I think that was more nostalgia than the scene itself. I know this board loves Jughead, but I find him a bit tiresome. The Blossoms tend to be creepy - in a good way. Polly's plan was not exactly the greatest. Did they not think they would figure her out. Also, she was not exactly subtle or careful in her snooping. It is time for the murder mystery to end.
|by Anonymous||reply 559||04/28/2017|
R559 The mystery will supposedly end in the next episode.
|by Anonymous||reply 560||04/28/2017|
R559 I loved Jughead before he turned into a bf attachment for Betty. These writers suck so bad.

I agree with you on that.

You bitches are slipping.
|by Anonymous||reply 565||04/28/2017|
Does this board really love Jughead? I thought it was just a couple of people plus the really really loud Cole Sprouse Troll.
Aguirre-Sacasa and the writers have no fucking idea what they're doing.
|by Anonymous||reply 566||04/29/2017|
i had to laugh at the scene of Jughead and Archie talking to each other in Archie's bedroom while laying in their separate beds. Of course Jughead wore a shirt and Archie is shirtless and his chest in full view, like, who cares what the scene is about? Archie's chest boobs!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 567||04/29/2017|
R567 Why aren't they fucking? Jughead should be at least be sucking every parts of Archie.
|by Anonymous||reply 568||04/29/2017|
It's time to introduce Alan M. to the story to have a "hot-off" with Archiekins.
|by Anonymous||reply 569||04/29/2017|
In the bedroom scene, Archie's stanky kicks were chilling right next to Jug's pillow. That's nasty. Also, Archie's chest boobs for prez!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 570||04/29/2017|
The showrunners know what the audience wants. "It's a third of the way through this episode and we haven't seen Archie's tits yet..."
|by Anonymous||reply 571||04/29/2017|
They should have Archie join the swim team!!

Josie's boyfriend in the comics. I have the feeling that Josie and the Pussycats will be phased out of the show next season. I also wonder if the show EP will follow through with introducing Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
|by Anonymous||reply 574||04/29/2017|
It was said the introduction of Sabrina would happen in the finale episode of season one (or at the beginning of season two?). I wonder if it will have something to do with the Blossoms? They seem like creepy satanists.
|by Anonymous||reply 575||04/29/2017|
When Peggy got those shakes from Mrs. Blossom I was afraid some creepy stuff would be in there like raw meat or blood. I guess I watch way too many horror movies.

I could see a show like this doing a storyline where it's revealed that the Blossom ancestor had witches cast spells so they could become wealthy and the spell gets broken by Sabrina. O,r maybe witches were involved with Jason's death.
The showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also wrote the Afterlife with Archie zombie comics and there are online theories that Riverdale will turn into that universe.

Watching Riverdale and The Get Down has been depressing. Is this really where we're at with portrayals of homosexuality and gay relationships in 2017? Discouraging.
|by Anonymous||reply 582||04/29/2017|
This thread takes on a somber note when you realise all this thread is is about three fifty year olds getting animated over a show aimed at 12 year old girls.
|by Anonymous||reply 583||04/29/2017|
I've never met a Hiram who wasn't Jewish yet in Riverdale he's Hispanic.
1) Hermione Lodge is Hispanic, but we've not heard for sure that Hiram Lodge is Hispanic. Veronica may just be half Hispanic.
2) Hiram is actually most often a Protestant name in the United States, now a Jewish name. "Hiram Abif" is the legendary builder of Solomon's Temple, and thus a key figure in Masonic legend, and most Hirams in the US have been named for him. Masonry in the United States is usually associated with protestants.
|by Anonymous||reply 584||04/29/2017|
My guess is that the season will end with Hiram Lodge returning to Riverdale to live with Veronica and Hermione. Whatever his ethnicity, he will undoubtedly look like he does in the comics, with a white mustache, white hair, and circular glasses.
|by Anonymous||reply 585||04/29/2017|
Hiram Lodge's family name was originally Lodgestein, but his father changed it for professional reasons.
|by Anonymous||reply 586||04/29/2017|
I thought they have already cast Mr. Kelly Ripa as Hiram. I don't think he will have white hair.
|by Anonymous||reply 587||04/29/2017|

Gay orgy. They do one of these pretty much every other episode now to help with the ratings. The reason you can't see Jughead or Kevin is because they're on their knees in front of the jock boys. Kevin is getting tea bagged by the Pig guy, while Archie's balls are banging up against Jughead's non-existent chin.
|by Anonymous||reply 592||04/30/2017|
I wish that's what happened... instead the scene where that hot gif originated from only lasted for a few seconds at the beginning of the episode. Fuck that.
|by Anonymous||reply 593||04/30/2017|
R587 Yeah, Consuelos will play Hiram so there's no reason to speculate about Veronica's ethnicity anymore.
R593 But we do get Kevin pecking his boyfriend on the lips in that episode. Which is totally how hormone-crazed gay teens kiss.
|by Anonymous||reply 594||04/30/2017|
[R593] But we do get Kevin pecking his boyfriend on the lips in that episode. Which is totally how hormone-crazed gay teens kiss.
That may have to do with:
A) the actor playing Joaquin, who seems really uncomfortable playing gay
B) the network, which has had a really hard time with male/male affection, even as Sarah Lance is humping everything with a pussy over on Legends of Tomorrow
Since Casey Cott is apparently going to be a regular next season, and the show has gotten a lot of flack for how they've handled their black characters, I'm betting we're going to see Kevin's eventually husband Clay show up.
|by Anonymous||reply 595||04/30/2017|
You should write for the show, R592. That's some good stuff. Blows Aguirre-Sacasa's inept scribblings out of the water.
And that's a very good question you have, too. I've often pondered Sprouse's strange face and weirdly shaped head myself.
R594, I think Kevin and Whatsisname are the worst, most lifeless portrayal of a gay couple I've ever seen. It's almost a blessing that they're never on screen. Whatsisname in particular always looks dead inside. Really brings out his resemblance to John Travolta.

Filming for season 1 ended months ago. We won't see Hiram until season 2. Also, in some articles it's stated that Mark Consuelos is on that FOX show Pitch and if that show gets renewed for a second season he won't take the Riverdale gig.

You know, if I'd were the showrunner Archie and Jughead would be friends with benefits. They'd blow and fuck each other but have relationships with girls and, of course complain about their girlfriends and discuss story line drama while making out with each other. Of course my show would have to be on HBO or Skinemax.
|by Anonymous||reply 599||05/01/2017|
R598 I laughed like a maniac at that. So goofy and on the nose, but so incredibly funny at the same time.
