Hottie Out Gay Mayor Pete Buttigieg, age 34, wants to lead DNC . What say you?

Saw him tonight on MSNBC with Ari Melber. Attended Harvard, Oxford Rhodes Scholar, Navy lieutenant. He came out in 2015.

by no jokes about that last namereply 8303/14/2019

Think this may be his partner and family

by no jokes about that last namereply 101/05/2017

Chasten Glezman is his partner in the above picture, but as far as I know they don't have any children. Pete hasn't been out that long, came out on June 16, 2015 so if they have children together they did it fast. I live in the South Bend area but don't know either of them, until recently they have been very quiet about their relationship.

by no jokes about that last namereply 201/05/2017

Btw the name is pronounced like "boot a judge"

by no jokes about that last namereply 301/05/2017

Ain't gonna happen. His name will be the Butt of jokes.

by no jokes about that last namereply 401/05/2017

I am the OP of the other thread but this one is more put together so I yield.

by no jokes about that last namereply 501/05/2017

We need a flyover vibe for the DNC. It's our only hope.

by no jokes about that last namereply 601/05/2017

Heard him on MSNBC. Very impressive.

by no jokes about that last namereply 701/05/2017
Buttigieg’s winning essay centered on the integrity and political courage demonstrated by U.S. Congressman Bernie Sanders of Vermont, the nation’s only Independent member of Congress.

Last night Bernie Sanders said he doesn't know Pete Buttigieg. Boom

by no jokes about that last namereply 801/05/2017

for R5

Sorry, did a search with his name first, nothing. Thought it would be hard to miss. Link for your thread? We can share this one.

by no jokes about that last namereply 901/05/2017

not hot AT ALL

by no jokes about that last namereply 1001/05/2017

While I love the camaraderie between R5 and the OP, I agree with R10 - he is not hot at all.

by no jokes about that last namereply 1101/05/2017

Pete's partners instagram. His partner is a teacher in the South Bend school district.

by no jokes about that last namereply 1201/05/2017

He is hotter than Debbie Wasserman Schultz, in fact he is the hottest person running for the office.

Like that really matters

by no jokes about that last namereply 1301/05/2017

Aww, if not a hottie, he's a cutie.

by no jokes about that last namereply 1401/05/2017

He was hot in his navy uniform.

by no jokes about that last namereply 1501/05/2017

On one hand, he's a millennial - on the other hand, he's a millennial. He could be good to bring the party into the current century at least. Snapchat yo!

by no jokes about that last namereply 1601/05/2017

Aww 👨‍❤‍👨

by no jokes about that last namereply 1701/05/2017
Hottie

Wrong.

by no jokes about that last namereply 1801/05/2017

R5, let's let mine just sink to the bottom this one is more hyped up.

You can put my vote down for the Mayor guy. The DNC needs to shake things up.

by no jokes about that last namereply 1901/05/2017

R5 here I mean

by no jokes about that last namereply 2001/05/2017

Ain't no way Pete Buttplug or whoever is going to be president!

by no jokes about that last namereply 2101/05/2017

I think the Hon. Mayor is more appealing than Keith Ellison, who has more of the heavy-hitter Dem support. Ellison seems like a nice, competent guy, but sorry, the Dems don't need a Muslim as the leader at this moment.

Yes, I know my statement sounds bigoted; however, I want to win. This Repug takeover cannot stand. We must fight back with a winner. Actually, I like Tim Ryan of Ohio the best over the gay mayor. Yes, I'm gay, but hetero Tim Ryan could be much more appealing to the voters who voted against their own self-interest and elected this fucking douchebag Trump,

by no jokes about that last namereply 2201/05/2017

Agree but Ryan was running for something else I think.

Whoever it is needs to be white. I hate to say it but whatever it takes to win. 😬

by no jokes about that last namereply 2301/05/2017

They'll find out he was doing blow with a male twink hooker. We are our own worst enemies. Trust me. Let's not have one of our own destroy the entire party.

by no jokes about that last namereply 2401/05/2017

Gayface in my opinion

by no jokes about that last namereply 2501/05/2017

Yeah, we lost the election because the DNC elite did not want Bernie, so let's let them pick no names like Buttigieg and tim ryan. WE have Bernie and Elizabeth Warren, eff off to these loser no names.

by no jokes about that last namereply 2601/05/2017

I assume he's a moderate, which would help a lot. Also, he seems honest, which would be a major switch from DWS and Donna Brazile.

by no jokes about that last namereply 2701/05/2017

Hmm...no mention of being a USN officer in Wikipedia.

by no jokes about that last namereply 2801/05/2017

Ooops, my bad. Just double-checked, and found the USN reserves info.

by no jokes about that last namereply 2901/05/2017

So do we have sizemeat verificata?

by no jokes about that last namereply 3001/05/2017

R13. No fair. I just shit a big turd better looking than Debbie Wasserman Shultz. Smarter too. I like this guy. Seems nice. The DNC needs a good guy.

South Bend television station story on Pete Buttigieg

SOUTH BEND, IN - — The news of South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg running for chair of the Democratic National Committee is already getting a lot of national attention.

One political analyst called him 'one of the most talented young leaders in the Democratic Party.'

The Mayor has to campaign for this job, but endorsements are already coming in from Democrats all over the country, including Mayors and State Senators.

Even the chair of the Indiana Democratic Party said he'll support Buttigieg.

"What you're seeing now in the fight for the future of the Democratic Party and the DNC are a lot of arguments about how the DNC needs to work better at a more granular level, at a more state-by-state and county-by-county level and speak to voters at a much lower level than just helping the Presidential candidates," said Steve Chaggaris, a Senior Political Editor with CBS News.

Buttigieg believes he can be that leader.

The chair of Indiana's Democratic Party agrees. MORE AT LINK

34-year-old Pete Buttigieg is a Navy veteran, former Rhodes Scholar, and the Mayor of South Bend, Indiana – in a red state. And now Buttigieg is running for DNC Chair because he believes he’s the political outsider that Democrats need to win future elections.

by no jokes about that last namereply 3301/07/2017

Snap out of it!

by no jokes about that last namereply 3401/08/2017

That's an unfortunate name for a politician.

by no jokes about that last namereply 3501/08/2017
Like that really matters.

It doesn't.

Does he know his stuff? Is he a strong writer and speaker? Is he fearless and assertive? Will he stand up to so-called enemies and naysayers? Will he advocate for all of the Dem's constituents? Does he have what it takes to facilitate positive change?

[bold]That's[/bold] what matters.

by no jokes about that last namereply 3601/08/2017

Mr. Buttplug will never be chairman.

by no jokes about that last namereply 3701/08/2017

Mayor Pete Buttigieg greets President Obama at the South Bend International Airport, yes "International" even though there are no flights to destinations outside the US, but they are looking for one.

by no jokes about that last namereply 3801/09/2017

Indiana Governor Mike Pence listens to South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg this photo was taken before Mayor Buttigieg came out as gay, so the disgust on Mike Pence's face is simply because Pete is a Democratic Mayor.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg performs Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra.

by no jokes about that last namereply 4001/09/2017

Unless he's a political genius, he's too young.

by no jokes about that last namereply 4101/09/2017

he's cute and bright, go for it!

by no jokes about that last namereply 4201/09/2017

The name. His great grandfather should have changed it at Ellis Island.

by no jokes about that last namereply 4301/09/2017

I would support him over any other announced candidate(S).

by no jokes about that last namereply 4401/09/2017

IFHH

by no jokes about that last namereply 4501/09/2017

Too young. No national level experience.

by no jokes about that last namereply 4601/09/2017

Trump doesn't have national level experience either and got elected president so ... .

by no jokes about that last namereply 4701/09/2017

Running the DNC isn't like running the nation, it is more akin to running a company, a nonprofit or a city. It organization and fund raising.

by no jokes about that last namereply 4801/09/2017

Lol at the people arguing if he's not or not. A gay man could cure cancer and all infectious disease but the only thing that would matter to you bitches is if he's hot.

by no jokes about that last namereply 4901/09/2017
Trump doesn't have national level experience either and got elected president so ... .

I don't think "be like Trump" is a winning formula.

I worry about anyone who thinks the Sanders approach is the way to go. Running a country is amazingly complicated and I don't understand the Trump-like desire to reduce everything to simplicity.

Let the Republicans gave their faux populism. We should demand more.

by no jokes about that last namereply 5001/09/2017

So you would not support Buttigieg for this, r50?

If not, who?

by no jokes about that last namereply 5101/09/2017

Considering his background and policies, it's odd that he's a Democrat. It's probably a family thing. South Bend is a Democratic city.

by no jokes about that last namereply 5201/09/2017

You think America will swallow a gay Buttgag?

by no jokes about that last namereply 5301/09/2017

He looks like a beaver. Commenting on his looks is separate from considering his qualifications. I think he needs to win more than a mayoral race in some third-rate shithole before giving him the reins of a national party. The optics are good now, but he's too young and inexperienced to be effective. Comparisons to Trump's outsider status do not stack up: Trump has been a national figure since the 80s.

by no jokes about that last namereply 5401/10/2017

Who do you like for the post, r54?

by no jokes about that last namereply 5501/10/2017

Such an overachiever. He must be exhausting to be around.

by no jokes about that last namereply 5601/10/2017

Actually. he's off-putting, and 2015 is way too late to come out for someone of his background.

by no jokes about that last namereply 5701/10/2017

Yeah I wish him the best in his career and will be looking out for him, but I agree...he is a mayor some town in Indiana. He needs to cut his teeth more in a bigger position.

Also his last name is SERIOUSLY unfortunate for a gay politician.

by no jokes about that last namereply 5801/10/2017

I'm for him and will vote seven times for him.

by no jokes about that last namereply 5901/10/2017

Just watching him on Chris Matthews. Chris takes 5 minutes to splutter and split his question. Pete keeps on point though. Chris has become an unbearable blowhard.

Chris hardly lets Pete get a few sentences out before he splutters in. Maybe Chris should pretend that Pete is a bleached out hag who shills for Trump.

by no jokes about that last namereply 6001/17/2017

Not alpha enough. If a gay guy is going to hold national political office, he's going to have to be pretty fucking tough.

by no jokes about that last namereply 6101/17/2017

I support him for DNC leader. Definitely.

by no jokes about that last namereply 6201/17/2017

At Gw Bush Airport IAH during the protests against Trump's EO stopping travel. He was translating from the Arabic to help out.

by no jokes about that last namereply 6301/28/2017

He's from a working class town where the average household income is only $19,000. He may appeal to Walmart shoppers in flyover land, but he's never going to appeal to the more cultured Democratic base on the coasts.

by no jokes about that last namereply 6401/28/2017

Bottoms don't make good leaders.

by no jokes about that last namereply 6501/28/2017

Cute guy. How's he hung?

by no jokes about that last namereply 6601/28/2017

Wtf are you talking about r64? The last two democratic presidents, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama both had very modest upbringings. That sort of thing is appealing to democratic voters.

The last two Republican Presidents, Trump and Bush both had incredibly elitist and rich upbringings.

by no jokes about that last namereply 6701/29/2017

OP, thanks for the foresite to bring up this smart candidate for prez!

by no jokes about that last namereply 6803/11/2019

What an awful pair of names though.

by no jokes about that last namereply 6903/12/2019

He has gay face and his last name writes its self. Think about straight guys calling him butt plug to make fun of him.

by no jokes about that last namereply 7003/12/2019

DL is the only place so far where I've seen people call him buttplug. Which speaks volumes.

by no jokes about that last namereply 7103/12/2019

No goofier than "Roosevelt" was to middle American ears for Teddy.

by no jokes about that last namereply 7203/12/2019

He’s 37, not 34.

by no jokes about that last namereply 7303/12/2019

R71. He is not that popular yet on the national stage. Most straight male voters do not know who he is yet.

by no jokes about that last namereply 7403/12/2019

No, no, I want him for president!

by no jokes about that last namereply 7503/12/2019

He’s the most articulate and inspiring Democrat in the pack.

by no jokes about that last namereply 7603/12/2019

r74 Who cares, anyway? Trump - a walking talking horror show - got elected with a name like TRUMP and we're calling him Turd now and yet he's still in the White House, ruining the country day and night.

Honestly, you underestimate people. The vast majority of voters have left the primary school years behind and don't base their voting on a name alone.

by no jokes about that last namereply 7703/12/2019

R24 + R37 = homophobe troll.

by no jokes about that last namereply 7803/12/2019

Alright! Mayor Pete raised $600k from 22 thousand different donors after his CNN townhall. 💵

He needs to get donations from 65k different donors in order to make it to the televised DNC debate. Mary! We gays need to pull it off.

by no jokes about that last namereply 7903/12/2019

R77. Trump is a straight asshole there is a difference. He is an alpha male a trait most straight dudes love.

by no jokes about that last namereply 8003/12/2019

Consider donating $3 to Pete's campaign so he can qualify for the debate stage! he needs 65,000 individual donors and is 85% of the way theree

by no jokes about that last namereply 8103/14/2019

Can there be a name gayer than “Chasten”? Gawd

by no jokes about that last namereply 8203/14/2019
