I just watched the first episode. A lot of characters were intoducted! I liked that the writers didn't adapt the books for TV, but instead took Dirk and put him in a new setting. I'm looking forward to next week's episode.

There were actual references to events in the books, so this almost feels like a sequel.

Isn't openly gay (and very talented) Samuel Barnett the star since he's playing Gently? I don't know the books, but assume Wood plays his sidekick/partner.

That was crazy fun... and I loved how the previews for upcoming episodes were all about "everything you saw will make sense eventually... it's all connected!"

Watched the 2nd episode tonight. Still not a fan. And I find the immortal Assassin Girl with the bad hair really, really annoying.

I'm not a Sam Barnett fan at all, but he's the only thing that's making this series appealing so far. Love Adams, so hoping this pans out.

First I heard of this show. A very gay cast. even for a BBC show... I see the first episode is free on Google Play, so I will check it out tonight.

I liked "Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul". Wish Adams had been a more prolific author.

That military guy is Sargent Hugo, played by Dustin Milligan ....

He played Ethan in 90210 a decade ago but I don't remember him in that.

Just watched the pilot. I don't think I can deal with the confusing events of this show... unless there is a gay angle. It's like watching Dr. Who or Sherlock but without any plot.

I've liked it so far. I didn't know anything about the books, I just decided to DVR it based on a commercial. I agree with whoever mentioned go back and binging it after. The show is very detailed.

The sniper guy is also the veterinarian on Schitt's Creek. He's cute.

I'm loving it, personally. This week's episode was great.

I don't know why it's not more popular. I think it's well done, well cast, and well acted. Maybe many people can't follow more than 2 subplots at once.

It's pretty awesome. I like the spooky, unsettling score of the show and the dark humor. Dustin Mulligan is quite funny as the himbo soldier.

I like that adventure feel of the show (like in the previous episode where the leads went through the rooms with all the riddles).

I was totally confused by all the seemingly disparate story lines, but for some reason, partway through the most recent episode, things became MUCH more clear.

Didn't think I would be into this, but gave it a try and wound up binging all the available episodes. The actresses playing the assassin and the bodyguard are kind of annoying though. I like the sister.

I like the sister too. The weird chick doesn't bother me as much as she did at first. Elijah Wood is cuter than I remember. The other guy, Dirk...not so much. The girl that acts like a dog! I think that's funny. The guy that is keeping her...I like him because he reminds me of someone I used to know. That said...I struggle with the story. I get bored easily. But I'll finish it..

I have been watching it all the way through, and while I enjoy it, Max Landis is an insufferable hack with a famous father, and the show has serious continuity issues

Assassin Girl was strangely missing from the last episode. Next week is the finale, so I'm hoping she loops back in somehow.

It helped me to binge watch the first four episodes because it enabled me to see the multiple threads develop alongside one another. I really like it but it makes me miss Doug Adams so much.

A rather dull finale just tying up the loose ends of the mystery but R66 is right, the hot dumb soldier made up for it by becoming the new big bad. I can already imagine he will be fucking Dirk not so gently up next season.

I have no idea what's going on with this show any more, but Dustin Milligan sure is hot (though he plays the crazy villain).

It's crazy. It's baffling. But it's so much fun I don't even care.

This show is one for bingeing when the season is over. It would be easier to remember what's what and who's who if you can watch the episodes back to back.

But I used to say the same thing about FX, so quality will win out. And BBC America shows have been nominated for several Emmys over the years, including Maslany's win for Orphan Black, so it can break through.

I binged the whole first season on Hulu recently. I've read the book and hope the 2nd season delves into The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul.

And having read the book I was familiar with the holistic thing.

R97 BBC America doesn't know how to advertise their shows in the US. Actually this show is a bit too "quirky scifi" for me. I am only watching for hunky Dustin.

Caught up on season 2 last weekend. I actually think this season has been better, and more fun, than the first. The cast is great, the writing is clever, and the production values are surprisingly good.

Here's hoping it gets picked up for a third and everyone stays on board.

I like this season, but I still am preferring season 1 ... I'm not fond of all the doubting Dirk has been doing about his abilities. I liked it better when he was cluelessly cocky & confident.

Their Game of Thrones spoof (Vindemoor) is hilarious and yet endearing.
