I do not like the new format of Manvox. It's a disaster. Before it used to be a private site, a community of knowing members. It felt like family. I know the site is not much known in the US, but in much of Europe and Russia it is the premier gay message board. Now it appears that during the redesign they've closed it to members. And the new format template (see link) looks like they're trying to be an all-purpose portal for gays - fashion, travel, style, design, photography, etc. Why not stick to what you know rather than try to be the be all and end all of gaydom? That's what gay.com tried to be and failed. This is not a good development at all in my opinion. What do you think of the new format?
It was so much better when it was on the deep dark web.

John, is that you?

They now have a "Join the Tribe" button where they ask for your name and email address. I don't like this at all. It takes away from the anonymous nature of the site. I'm also afraid it will lead to paying membership which I was hoping would never happen. Their search function does not seem to be working either. Will all the old threads be preserved and available much less searcheable?

There are absolutely no references to this outside of DL. Is this some kind of inside joke?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 13, 2015 8:50 PM |
R4, it's a site based, and I believe known mainly, in Eastern Europe. So, I wouldn't expect many references. It used to be very popular before it abruptly shut down and is now in the process of redesign. Why mess with what was perfectly good?

This upsets me.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 13, 2015 9:27 PM |
What a dump!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 13, 2015 9:36 PM |
I wonder if this is going to attract the wrong sort of person to our dear Manvox.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 15, 2015 6:31 PM |
I saw the funniest thing on Manvox, back in around 2008 when it was still the destination site for European gays and American gays in the know.
I can't remember what it was, now, for the life of me! But it was fucking hilarious!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 15, 2015 6:37 PM |
Eh. It looks like they're trying to upstage the competition, which is never a good look.
At least they didn't take the archives offline. There's no direct link but if you have it bookmarked from before, it still works.

I shan't be 'joining' the 'tribe'. I shall contact Manvox and ask for my contribution to be refunded.

You can ask the DL webmaster about that one.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 15, 2015 7:15 PM |
"Trends for the good folk"is now on their main page. It's no "Pointless Bitchery". At least they have a pretty picture.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 15, 2015 7:55 PM |
That's a godsend, r10.

Or hookers go to find jhons?

'can anyone explain WTF Manvox is about? even google doesn't know shit'
Google searches for Manvox return no results since a very ugly flame war broke out on the site in 2010, R15. Long story.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 15, 2015 10:24 PM |
a flame war can stop almighty Google?? wow
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 15, 2015 11:05 PM |
Seriously, R17? That's unlikely. I believe the actual reason was that many of the users of the site were primarily in Russia and Eastern Europe an area which Google does not track as much and this doesn't include in its search results.

Tee hee. Manvox.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 16, 2015 4:24 PM |
Manvox is a monkey creation.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 16, 2015 4:54 PM |
I don't think Google indexes pages in Easter Europe and Russia much.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 20, 2015 3:49 AM |
Does the Monkey still post over there?

by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 19, 2016 7:40 PM |
This is a shill. A quick look at the Wayback Machine and you'll see the site was never operational prior to this current redesign. It's always down or nothing to be show or "domain for sale."
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 19, 2016 9:06 PM |
Manvox disappeared

by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 18, 2019 9:50 AM |
Meh. AND feh.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 18, 2019 9:58 AM |
It was exclusive and restricted. I remember the day I first got my Platinum invite. Heady times. I really thought I could unlock everything, only to find that there was a Californium level. It was tantalizing to know that I could access things most could not, but there was still another door to unlock.

I think it really went downhill after they kowtowed to the request to remove the links to the film Deed Poll, which had a great performance from Orlando Bloom. Using it as a vehicle for his own coming out with very life-affirming.

I got the free caftan for signing up but never got the matching turban. Member services doesn't seem to want to acknowledge my emails.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 18, 2019 7:10 PM |
You have to reach the Silver level to get the turban, R40.
