Hundreds of millions of parents across the parent are trying to do the same thing with their children as their parent, regardless of the sexual orientation of the children. Christians naturally want their children to be Christian and to live a manner they believe is pleasing to God. Christianity has a lot to say about what is proper sexual behavior. Consequently, it is inherent in the faith that parents will attempt to have their children living in accordance with the teaching of the faith. When the child becomes an adult, he can determine if we wants to continue to live in accordance with the mandates of the faith, but until then, this is a proper exercise of religious liberty.

Think of all the future turmoil it would remove from her. She wouldn't have to forbid him holiday dinners/visits if he brings a Bf/husband. She wouldn't have to ignore any children he adopts or fathers through surrogacy. She wouldn't stay awake at night wondering if he is befouling himself by engaging in gay sex.

Also, the kid is about to go to college according to the post, meaning he is probably 17-18. Most 17-18yr old males are uncontrollable. Unless he is shackled and drugged/unfed, I doubt that is the case if he is going off to college...
