Another muscle bear dead!

" 40 isn't fatal ... oh, wait ...."
|by Anonymous||reply 2||07/21/2014|
Is Ptown Bear Week even over yet?
|by Anonymous||reply 3||07/21/2014|
Talk about a hard 40.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||07/21/2014|
he's a dream man to me, I even chatted with him briefly once at the Eagle in Manhattan. So sorry to read this
|by Anonymous||reply 5||07/21/2014|
He had a hot ass but he couldn't live forever.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||07/21/2014|
"Talk about a hard 40."
That's 40 in gay male years. Actually he was 79.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||07/21/2014|
Was his name an homage to the late, great Arpad Miklos, or were they related?
|by Anonymous||reply 8||07/21/2014|
Died of drugs?
|by Anonymous||reply 9||07/21/2014|
His butt was so firm that morning...
|by Anonymous||reply 10||07/21/2014|
:( Some FB posters say it was a heart attack. Official cause TBD.
Take care of your tickers, my woofy friends.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||07/21/2014|
Steroid abuse, according to mutual Facebook friends.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||07/21/2014|
[quote]Take care of your tickers, my woofy friends.
Easy, don't fill your body up with steroids and other nasty, toxic shit. This is also what happened to Erik Rhodes and Brett Mycles.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||07/21/2014|
[quote]His butt was so firm that morning...
And he was an insatiable bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||07/21/2014|
Dunno if it's really confirmed there's enhanced risk or not, but a number of ambulance chaser attorneys are currently fishing for participants in class action lawsuits against Androgel and other T-HRT Rx's. They claim extra heart attacks, strokes, deep vein thrombosis, etc. These are very low strength compared to a typical 'roid stack.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||07/21/2014|
Stress is a factor in heart disease. Gay men deal with chronic stress from anti-gay behaviors of people. Learning stress relieving techniques is crucial.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||07/21/2014|

shit, this makes me sad
|by Anonymous||reply 17||07/21/2014|
Stress is not the same killer as roids. Think about it, all of us gay men and women get negative behavior thrown at us. If stress was such a real factor, the majority of us would be kicking the bucket at 40.
If anything, being a porn model, he also got a lot of positive admiration from fans.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||07/21/2014|
Some of us have weaker or stronger genetics
|by Anonymous||reply 19||07/21/2014|
Some people are more sensitive to stress.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||07/21/2014|
So, we have a stress troll trying to divert the real reason for this guy's heart attack?
|by Anonymous||reply 21||07/21/2014|
I had a friend who was taking Androgel for a while and a mutual doctor friend of ours seriously warned him off of using it.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||07/22/2014|
You take steroids, you get what you deserve.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||07/22/2014|
Christ, the whole bear culture has become infested and overrun by the circuit queens from the early 2000s. It's tiresome and embarrassing for the entire community. I say that as a guy who's considered myself a part of that subculture of the gay community for a while. (No, I'm not 'fat'.)
Sure, there are massive, obese guys who latch-on to the bear label and insert themselves into that scene. The whole bear community, traditionally has been a welcoming, inclusive one and a haven from the otherwise nasty, cliquish circles of gay bars and clubs.
The bear crowd is big on having events not centered on clubs and drugs and not being/looking "fabulous". Of course in some areas like Boston, the bear communities can be just as nasty, bitchy and unwelcoming as the club crowd.
All that said, guys like this one, whomever the fuck he is, aren't and shouldn't be considered a part of that community simply because he got older, juiced up a bit more and let his chest hair grow out.
Today's bear crowd has allowed itself to become identified by these aging muscle circuit queens who do just that: grow their beards and chest hair and jack up on 'roids. Ironically these are the same guys who would have shunned a bearded, beefy guy at the Black Party or some trendy, hot spot gay club just a few years back.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||07/22/2014|
I met him, he seemed nice
|by Anonymous||reply 25||07/22/2014|
Any relation to Arpad Miklos ?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||07/22/2014|

Further, the promoters of Bear-type events are more and more inclined to use images like, well, like this dead guy. (Before he was dead, I mean.) If there's a Bear Weekend or whatever being promoted, there will be a pumped-up muscle-juiced homo with a beard on the posters and flyers.

Agree with r24, that is no bear
|by Anonymous||reply 28||07/22/2014|
Chris was my friend.. He was sweet, loving, he had a way of bringing out the best in you.. Always hugging everyone. He was a genuine first class human being!! He will be great miss by all.. And no, that's his real name, not a tribute to Armpad
|by Anonymous||reply 29||07/22/2014|
Hungarians and steroids go together like a horse and carriage.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||07/22/2014|
Bodybuilder Dave Draper (who starred alongside Sharon Tate in "Don't Make Waves") is 72 and still looks huge (unlike Arnold). Some people are just built to last for a long time and some don't. Didn't longevity researchers prove that the reason Ozzy Osbourne is still alive, is due to the fact his liver is extremely efficient? Also some people have longer telomeres, which means their biological age is significantly lower than their registered age.

r24 - my partner and I have been saying this for years now. There was a time in the early aughts where going to The Eagle or what was then called The Dugout in nyc was *really* fun and inclusive. Cute, friendly guys of all types. But then the A-bear shit started happening and it ruined everything. These guys are such assholes - and I say this as someone who has been hit on by a few of them (lest people think I'm just bitter). To make matters worse, cunty fashion gays are now growing their beards and showing up to the beer blasts, exuding such toxic attitude. Last time we were on the roof at The Eagle the collective clique-y energy between these two groups was beyond palpable.
Where did all of the cute friendly, laid back guys go to?
|by Anonymous||reply 32||07/22/2014|
[quote]Where did all of the cute friendly, laid back guys go to?
well, they left NYC, that's for fuck sure.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||07/22/2014|
From *everything* I've read - not most things, everything - it seems this guy was extraordinarily nice and inclusive, and exhibited none of the domineering "A-bear" behaviors some of you are describing. Not fair to hang that on him without having known him.

I'm tired of the tributes to whores and sluts who lick asshole on camera for $25. They are in Hell now and you know it.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||07/22/2014|
He was dating porn whore Tony Orion and was into that "Pup Daddy" rubbish that they types go on with. Apparently, it was a 'throuple' situation, which is the A-Gay Trend of the Month.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||07/22/2014|
I'm 41 and I don't look near that good.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||07/22/2014|
[quote]They are in Hell now and you know it.
no, they aren't, but you sure are a rancid old cunt who deserves to be
|by Anonymous||reply 39||07/22/2014|
[quote]Not fair to hang that on him without having known him.
indeed, when I met him he was chatty and sweet
|by Anonymous||reply 40||07/22/2014|
Another victim of steroids. I am so glad i was too chicken shit to take them back in the 90s when everyone my age was juicing up to get that Chelsea queen look. I always hated my body because everything was a struggle for me to achieve and for these guys everything seems effortless. Now at 39, I'm healthy. I still have to work hard to be fit, but now it's about health instead of an out of proportion muscular frame.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||07/22/2014|
I knew a girl who took steroids and Androgel. But then she died.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||07/22/2014|
[quote] Ironically these are the same guys who would have shunned a bearded, beefy guy at the Black Party or some trendy, hot spot gay club just a few years back.
Preach it, sister.

Oh, please! If WE aren't dying of stress, no one else will. Such bullshit. It was the 'roids and/or party drugs.

R29 Robert: I am sorry for the loss of your friend. He sounds like a great guy. Cherish his memory and think of him often.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||07/23/2014|
R45, let it go with the "Darfur orphans" shit. It was clever briefly but you've been spreading it on heavy lately. Time for a fresher shtick.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||07/23/2014|
We'll go away if Cheryl does.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||07/23/2014|
Darfur orphans are great for calling out entitled whiners, which we have in abundance on DL. Long may they live.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||07/23/2014|
The guy wasn't a whore like some had mentioned. He just did a bit of nude modeling.
Stay away from steroids, kids.
