Day's pay for a top male model

How much do they earn for a day's photoshoot?

by Anonymousreply 5605/01/2014

It depends if they want cab fare.

by Anonymousreply 111/02/2013

More than me on a good day.

by Anonymousreply 211/02/2013

Garrett Neff's around $15,000. Amazing money.

by Anonymousreply 311/02/2013

Yet Garrett pulls in less than $500,000 a year, and most of that goes to his agency and taxes.

by Anonymousreply 411/02/2013

Simon Nessman makes pretty good money. He's got one of the best faces in the business.

by Anonymousreply 511/02/2013

R4, most of everyone's money goes to our agencies and taxes.

by Anonymousreply 611/02/2013

Men who are good-looking AND intelligent know that they can use their male model good looks to bypass ugly/mediocre competitors through use of the "halo effect," and then go on to make tons of $$ in business, banking, etc. All male models I've known have been pretty unintelligent and have had money problems.

by Anonymousreply 711/02/2013

This list is for "The Money Guys"

Not sure if its a real representation or just a fanciful list.

by Anonymousreply 811/02/2013

Really, r7? Tell us more about the models.

by Anonymousreply 911/02/2013

Why do women make so much more than men in modeling? Isn't it basically the same level of effort?

by Anonymousreply 1011/02/2013

r10

Because men aren't as big a market for clothes, toiletries etc.

by Anonymousreply 1111/02/2013

I agree that male models have a very short shelf life. The smart ones are building a second career. And no, there's no comparison between the market for women and men.

What's interesting about R8's list is the sameness of the top men. Mostly white, overwhelmingly brunette, with the same long face and overly prominent features. I see the same pointed nose and full lips over and over again. They're beautiful, but not very interesting to me.

by Anonymousreply 1211/02/2013

They make pretty much are just working and making enough to keep up their coke habit.

by Anonymousreply 1311/02/2013

I don't understand what R13 said. R12, you're spot-on; there's extreme sameness for some reason.

by Anonymousreply 1411/03/2013

R4, how do you know?

by Anonymousreply 1511/03/2013

R13 seems to be on coke.

by Anonymousreply 1611/03/2013

What kinds of problems, R7?

by Anonymousreply 1711/03/2013

The current issue of Fantastic Man says this in the course of an article about Clement Chabernaud:

[quote]Male catwalk models can get paid anything from a free T-shirt to the current average of €350 for a good show, with exceptions up to the rumoured €10,000 that some brands pay to block a particular model from walking in any other shows that season.

But that's runway shows - I don't know about shoots. (Incidentally, this Chabernaud gentleman doesn't do a thing for me.)

by Anonymousreply 1811/03/2013

Do bottoms get paid more than tops?

by Anonymousreply 1911/03/2013

Thanks for mentioning Fantastic Man, R18. Here's Rhys Harding dancing on the site. He likes Disney movies. Adorable.

by Anonymousreply 2011/03/2013

R19. I hope not.

by Anonymousreply 2111/03/2013

Male models are the happiest guys. Like puppies.

by Anonymousreply 2211/03/2013

Has anyone here dated one of the current top male models?

by Anonymousreply 2311/04/2013

I'm confused. Someone once posted this pic here and said that this guy was one of Matt's exes. Now I read it's the brother

Does anyone know?

by Anonymousreply 2411/04/2013

Sorry, wrong thread.

by Anonymousreply 2511/04/2013

No, r23. But I did go to school with one of the current favorites. He's gay for what it's worth.

by Anonymousreply 2611/04/2013

Who's that, R26? Cool.

by Anonymousreply 2711/04/2013

I would imagine that David Gandy makes millions. Probably the same for Sean O'Pry.

by Anonymousreply 2811/04/2013

Doris Day is paying for male models now? didn't she learn her lesson with Rock Hudson -- most of them play for the other team...

by Anonymousreply 2911/04/2013

Spot-on,R28. Sean O'pry made $1.5 million, and David Gandy made $1.4 million! Garrett Neff's not in the top 10, though.

by Anonymousreply 3011/04/2013

Sean O'pry's girlfriend looks like a nice person.

by Anonymousreply 3111/04/2013

Gillian Staples.

by Anonymousreply 3211/04/2013

Oh God, get over this tabloid education. Male models do NOT make millions. Some do make nice money. Find out for yourself. Look at the leading News York male model agencies, Wilhelmina, Ford, reQuest, etc. and see who their top guys are and what they are booking. See the headsheets, prices listed, per hour or day or booking. This is not hard to figure out. Maybe $3,000 a day if a guy gets a day booking. But how many days do guys get that? For a guy who works, nice money. David Gandy is tops. Is a Brit, not that there's anything wrong with that. The 10 top males last year made $8 million. Sean O'Pry having worked about six years and booking major campaigns, had a recent FORBES story of making only $1.5 million last year while a top female model like Gisele Bundchen made $42 million. Women can make fortunes. Males don't fare well. All female models have only an average salary of $41,300. That's 148% more than male models, according to PayScale.com. While an Ollie Edwards has Ralph Lauren and several of the catalogue boys do as well, imagine the income of that male model you lust after. Not millions. Shelf life is short.

by Anonymousreply 3311/04/2013

You're asking the basement dwellers of DL this question?

by Anonymousreply 3411/04/2013

If you want to trade on your looks, become a doctor or a lawyer. Everyone wants to be around pretty people, so you'll make lots of money and not be considered old news when you're 27.

by Anonymousreply 3511/04/2013

R4, how do you know?

by Anonymousreply 3611/05/2013

David Gandy. Holy shit.

by Anonymousreply 3711/06/2013

Awesome.

by Anonymousreply 3811/06/2013

He must be the happiest man alive.

by Anonymousreply 3911/09/2013

r33 acts like looking through the headsheets, prices listed, per hour or day and booking of models is something everyone does in their spare time and is miffed that a poster here would pose the question on the internet.

It's..... odd.

by Anonymousreply 4011/09/2013

[quote]He must be the happiest man alive.

Models are some of the happiest people on Earth!!!

by Anonymousreply 4111/09/2013

Looking at R8's post, the only ones who stood out to me are #3 David Gandy, because I think 60 minutes did a story on him as being the most "in demand" model, so I recognized him.

But the one that stood out to me looks-wise, was Myles Crosby, #20. He's gorgeous.

So I looked him up, and I had no idea he played football for Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

And I especially love that he gave the modeling world the finger, just so he could play football! He's my new hero.. lol.

by Anonymousreply 4211/09/2013

He goes to Southern Millionaires University, r42. We all know you just want him for his money.

Also, wow, 6'3 according to your article is a bit on the tall side for me.

by Anonymousreply 4311/09/2013

R4, Garrett Neff is a top "money guy" -

by Anonymousreply 4411/10/2013

Who's R4?

by Anonymousreply 4511/13/2013

There have been a lot of threads lately about "can you really hire models/actors as rentboys" and "how do the world's most gorgeous men for hire get introduced to their clients" etc. (I paraphrase).

OP, if you have the money then what you need is a top tier Madam/Pimp who will get you the guy of your dreams.

Who is it that you want? Do you have someone specific in mind or just a type?

by Anonymousreply 4611/14/2013

You got me, R46. :) Yeah, I mean, I'm trying to motivate myself (I'm in school and building a business) by learning more about who's out there to date on a pay basis (e.g., $365,000/year for min. 1 year, with an option for 2 more years).

I'm fucked up, I guess. But it's what sounds good/makes sense for me. I just need to get frigging working (I'm in the library now, juggling schoolwork with figuring out stuff about creating a new LLC).

I think I have a type - those guys I really like, the ones I have in mind, aren't available, I'm pretty sure - and in any case I don't expect to have the kind of money I'll need in several years, if ever (I know most businesses fail, etc., but this is all I've got in the way of having someone in my life to be with). So my type would be male models, yes. Pretty ones, like Garrett Neff; sexy masculine ones like David Gandy and Noah Mills. I need to have pics of them on my desktop or on the wall next to my bed so I'll be way motivated.

I have money from my work before school, and money tied up in real estate, and an inheritance, but I really want to create a growing "money machine" enterprise so I won't worry about harming "the principal," well, some amount that I'll have earned that's growing, thus the business stuff.

I think I need a mentor. Suggestions? I know there are a number of entrepreneurs, older men, who live like this. I just need to meet one who'll take me under his wing.

by Anonymousreply 4711/14/2013

Love Gandy and Sean O'Pry. Thanks for the links.

by Anonymousreply 4811/14/2013

David Gandy is stunning

by Anonymousreply 4911/14/2013

Unless you're super-duper wealthy, you want to hire them on the way up or on the way down. By the time you're ready, some of the guys you're interested in may be available to you.

by Anonymousreply 5011/14/2013

Thanks, R49. That's lovely. Makes me feel there's meaning in the universe. He's like a beautiful cathedral.

by Anonymousreply 5111/14/2013

It's interesting that all the models don't live lives anything like the ads in which they appear. E.g., you'll have this handsome guy posing for Ralph Lauren dressed all old-school-ish, but in real life he's from a podunk town, is way into hip hop and smoking weed, and dresses like a skater or something. Ryan Lochte, while not a model, is kind of like that - he's in Ralph Lauren ads but likes wearing grills on his teeth.

by Anonymousreply 5211/27/2013

Last week's episode of Glee had Sam Evans becoming a male model in NYC.

by Anonymousreply 5311/29/2013

$1.98

by Anonymousreply 5411/29/2013

I feel sad for the bulk of male models, who are just thrown away after a tiny bit of time on the runway, and have to go home to Ohio.

by Anonymousreply 5511/29/2013

i worked for a male designer during NY Fashion week and the male models were paid $500 each. It adds up if you book multiple gigs. And these were just regular male models..not any of the previously mentioned.
