Why can't Google leave Gmail alone?

Or at least functional?

I would like it to just work. The same way. Consistently.

Is there some technical reason that they *need* to keep fucking with it?

I'm sure the next big improvement will be to do away with the Teahouse Fox.

Fucking aspies.

The new, shitty compose window was a huge step backward.

by Anonymousreply 110/29/2013

yahoo is the same way (now my contacts don't come up when I type in their have to look them up)

by Anonymousreply 210/29/2013

Meanwhile, Gmail users everywhere like to lord it over others as belonging to the hippest email service provider them all. Back at the ranch, Gmail users are likely the first to have their privacy invaded in the name of homeland security.

by Anonymousreply 310/29/2013

You're right r3. Another reason they suck. Add it to the pile that currently reaches from here to the moon and back.

by Anonymousreply 410/30/2013

I have subtracted Google from my interweb activities.

Everything except YouTube, that is, which I will use as a non-registered guest.

Steve Jobs was right about Google.

by Anonymousreply 510/30/2013

What did Steve say about Google? How cryptic.

Whatever they did to Gmail, it's nothing compared to how they've fucked up mapping and Google Earth.

by Anonymousreply 810/30/2013

Chrome and Youtube have been driving me nuts lately with errors, crashes, slow loading times, etc. And will they ever get rid of this Google Plus crap that nobody needs or wants?

by Anonymousreply 910/30/2013

Hey everyone,

I just found an extension for Firefox that brings back the old compose window.

I thought I'd share.

by Anonymousreply 1010/30/2013

It's basically somebody at Google trying to justify their having a job.

by Anonymousreply 1110/30/2013

thanks r10, installed

by Anonymousreply 1210/30/2013

I've worked in software development for many years and for some odd reason most Web Developers and software gurus have never heard the old axiom: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

by Anonymousreply 1310/30/2013

You damn Apple fangurls need to unclutch the pearls.

Google dominates. Get used to it.

by Anonymousreply 1410/30/2013

R12, you're welcome.

I'm so pleased: I had been curtailing my emails because I couldn't stand the new interface.

by Anonymousreply 1510/30/2013

[quote]"If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Anyone who says this is immediately an idiot in my eyes.

I have dropped the popular verb "Google" from my vocabulary, both oral and written.

Now I say "do a search" or "Bing it."

by Anonymousreply 1810/31/2013

R18, Rudolph or Bing?

by Anonymousreply 1910/31/2013

You can say "Rudolph" if you like, r19.

That works too as long as your hearers know what you're referring to.

by Anonymousreply 2010/31/2013

For the same reason people couldn't leave Britney alone.

by Anonymousreply 2110/31/2013

R10, I owe you a blow job (assuming you're a male).

by Anonymousreply 2210/31/2013

R22 :) I'm afraid I'm one of the friendly lesbians.

by Anonymousreply 2310/31/2013

This is why I switched to ... At least when that changes (rarely), it's for the better.
