Poor Scott! First, his wife, and now, his mother -- gone.

Published on: October 18, 2013

by NATIONAL ENQUIRER online staff

Convicted killer SCOTT PETERSON is mourning the death of his mother while on Death Row, San Quentin.

Jackie Peterson, who stood by her son during his bombshell trial, died earlier this month aged 70, multiple sources close to the family confirmed. She had been battling cancer.

“Jackie’s death has not been announced publicly,” the insider said. “The family does not want the notoriety that will come with it.”

As The ENQUIRER previously reported Jackie had battled respiratory problems for years and was on oxygen during her son’s murder trial.

Her husband, Scott’s father Lee, recently brought her home from the hospital so he could care for her in her dying days, the source said.

Peterson, 40, has been on death row for seven years since being convicted of killing his pregnant 27-year-old wife and their unborn son Conner on Christmas Eve 2002.

He pleaded not guilty to the murders and has never revealed what happened before he dumped Laci’s body in the waters of the San Francisco Bay. reported that Jackie was not able to visit her son behind bars before her death. He is currently appealing his conviction.

The ENQUIRER previously reported in Dec. 2012 that a family friend who blamed Peterson’s mother’s health battle on her twisted son.

The friend told The ENQUIRER: “This is all Scott’s fault. Scott’s arrest took such a toll on Jackie’s health – it’s no wonder she’s so sick. This whole situation is literally killing her.”

And now, sadly, it has.

He ruined so many lives. Small-dicked asshole. hope he rots in jail for the rest of his life

by Anonymousreply 110/19/2013

Please, he didn't kill his mom - cancer killed her. He's an asshole but does he have to get blamed for EVERYTHING?

by Anonymousreply 210/19/2013

You know what Rosie would say.

by Anonymousreply 310/19/2013

Do we really believe he murdered his wife? I think he accidentally killed her while arguing, then he covered it up. He was a cheater, and an liar, but I'm still not sure he should get the death penalty. Yes, I know she was pregnant. If he killed her accidentally then he also accidentally killed the baby. If. What are your thoughts?

by Anonymousreply 410/19/2013

Hasn't that poor, beautiful man suffered enough?

by Anonymousreply 510/19/2013

"Do we really believe he murdered his wife? I think he accidentally killed her while arguing, then he covered it up. I don't believe in the death penalty but I think he definitely killed his wife.

by Anonymousreply 610/19/2013

Btw, didn't she have like 3 kids out of wedlock before she met Scott's dad? What was up with that?

by Anonymousreply 710/19/2013

Scott has had a run of bad luck. Getting convicted of murder and all.

by Anonymousreply 810/19/2013

I think we can all agree he killed her. I'm just not convinced it was outright murder. That's all I meant.

by Anonymousreply 910/19/2013

"What was so important about this murder that its reportage superseded that of 99% of the rest of US murders for, what was it, two years?"

Handsome, devious perp and a beautiful, naive victim. If Lacey and Scott had been fugly, 300 pounders living in a trailer park in Arkansas this case wouldn't have made the national news.

by Anonymousreply 1110/19/2013

[all posts by tedious, racist idiot removed.]

by Anonymousreply 1210/19/2013

r13, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but certainly many people found them to be attractive.

The media loves to spin a narrative with murder cases - if the perp is a woman who is even slightly above average in the looks department she a "sexy femme fatale." If a guy who is even slightly handsome or well-off kills a woman he's a "suave lady killer"

If the victim is a pretty girl or woman they'll use the "She was so beautiful - who could have killed her?" angle.

by Anonymousreply 1410/19/2013

IIRC Scott Peterson was the youngest, his parents had been married or involved with others when they met and each had several older children. Scott was the spoiled, late-in-life brat-child everyone doted on. Look where it got them.

by Anonymousreply 1610/19/2013

[R2] If you think what happened to this woman's son did not kill her, your are stupid. Grief can be very hazardous to one's health and life.

He was nice looking, some of you want to challenge that. When you get right down to it, most of you are not as nice looking as Scott, most MOST!

by Anonymousreply 1710/19/2013

R17, don't accuse others of being stupid when you are the stupid one. Cancer is a hell of a lot more hazardous than grief.

by Anonymousreply 1810/19/2013

so who cares? she was 70!!! he killed a practically a full term baby and a young woman.

he killed lacy cuz he met that ugly home wrecker. he wanted to be with a new slut. but no alimony or child support to tie him down.

stupidly he thought he would get away with it.

by Anonymousreply 1910/19/2013

Scott is requesting privacy during his time of grief.

by Anonymousreply 2010/19/2013

r12 - Modesto is in the Central Valley, not the SF Bay Area.

by Anonymousreply 2110/19/2013

Poor thing. RIP.

by Anonymousreply 2210/19/2013

The poor man is a widower! Leave him alone.

by Anonymousreply 2310/19/2013

Look, the whole things was like a real life Lifetime TV movie. It was a soap opera come to life. As reality TV goes, it doesn't get much better.

You have the just handsome enough, semi-playboy cheater, the pretty, wholesome Lacey, optimistic and happy. You have two families who are interesting in their own way, you have the adultery with a truly dumb skank. And you have murder most fowl.

They discover the bodies and the chains around the bodies. It's just an incredible news story that writes itself. I can see why it got hyped and sensationalized, especially with the damned candle light vigils and Scott passing out flyers for his missing wife.

Then how he tries to alter his appearance dyes his hair orange and tries to escape. A fucking fertilizer salesman. Good stuff. The sad part is that it was true, and this horror had to be played out on national TV. I'm sure the families never recovered.

And yes. Stress certainly exacerbated that woman's health struggles. She had cancer, but she was also crushed by the weight of what happened.

by Anonymousreply 2410/19/2013

[quote]And you have murder most fowl.

The excess media coverage was a real Pullet Surprise.

I don't want to hear any poultry excuses for your poor spelling.

by Anonymousreply 2510/19/2013

"Stress certainly exacerbated that woman's health struggles"

You're not her doctor - how would you know what exacerbated her health struggles?

by Anonymousreply 2610/19/2013

Who cares that his mother died? I would like to hear if he's managed to keep up his appearance in prison, and what his sex life is like in there, though.

by Anonymousreply 2710/19/2013

I read Scott Peterson's sisters book. She definitely thinks he killed her and his unborn child. When he stayed with her during the search, he hit on, iirc, her babysitter and it was so obvious, the babysitter was creeped out and didn't want to be around him. He also got into watching porn while they were looking for Lacy and after they found the dead Lacy and he also openly talked about women he was interested in hooking up with. This while people were out looking for his wife and then his wife's killer. Apparently, the fact his wife and soon to be born child were dead didn't faze him in the least, he was in good spirits. His sister got a front row seat to the real Scott Peterson and she ended up turning against him.

by Anonymousreply 2810/19/2013

was the sister's place where Peterson used to make the infamous "Flirtinis"? That part really creeped me out but also made me laugh. The whole thing was like a bad screenplay.

by Anonymousreply 2910/19/2013

Yes, he nade "flirtinis" for the babysitter when he was trying to hook up with her, while his wife was dead and his mistress was still present in the background.

by Anonymousreply 3010/19/2013

I'm glad Lacey isn't around to see this. It would've killed her.

by Anonymousreply 3110/19/2013

He was prone to being a bit carb-y.

by Anonymousreply 3210/19/2013

So he has a small penis according to one of his extra-curricular women. I wonder if it's small in real world inches or DL inches(under 9")?

by Anonymousreply 3310/19/2013

[quote]Do we really believe he murdered his wife?

Then why did he drain and clean his swimming pool over half a dozen times in the days after Lacey's disappearance?

To me, that proves that he drowned her in the pool, then took her dead body out to the ocean to dump it.

by Anonymousreply 3410/19/2013

The last photo that I saw of Scott he looked crazy, scary!

by Anonymousreply 3610/19/2013

Could someone please let Scott out so he can kill R19. The combination of illiteracy and stupidity is an affront to all sentient beings.

by Anonymousreply 3710/19/2013

We don't really know what happened, there was no direct evidence that Scott killed her. He should never have been convicted.

by Anonymousreply 3810/19/2013

R38 must be Mark Geragos.

by Anonymousreply 3910/19/2013

I just rolled my eyes at r38

by Anonymousreply 4010/19/2013

I think all of us believe he killed her. But the fact that there really is no direct evidence linking him to her death, and we have no idea what her cause of death was,I think death penalty is the wrong sentence.

I just don't believe in the death penalty. that's part of my reservation. I think Scotty is scum, and he's probably a murderer. he's nuts, and the prospect of having a kid probably sent him over the edge. It happens to a lot of unstable guys.

by Anonymousreply 4110/19/2013

Lacey looks like a Yenta. I bet she never shut up.

by Anonymousreply 4210/19/2013

The circumstantial evidence was overwhelming. For instance, the location of where Laci's body was found was very close to where Scott went "fishing" the day she disappeared, on Christmas or thereabouts (which was odd enough, as it was, that he just had to go fishing on Christmas). This was seventy or so miles from where they lived. The ODDS on the body being found washed up on shore (or however they found it) being THAT NEAR where Scott went fishing are astronomically low. Infinitesimal. This was stated by at least one juror as one of THE primary reasons they convicted him. He had motive, opportunity and time to kill her. And his behavior (rather "O.J. like" with the dying of the hair and passport and money and heading for the border) PLUS his skank mistress and the lies he told the mistress PLUS his all round bizarre behavior after Laci went missing. It added up.

by Anonymousreply 4310/20/2013

Scott is just my type. Would love to bend over a table for him to plow away.

by Anonymousreply 4410/20/2013

Love watching the clip of him being interviewed on the local news while Lacy was still "missing". His cell phone rings & he ignores it. He wasn't worried it might be news of his wife, he knew just where she was all along.

by Anonymousreply 4510/20/2013

He certainly was a piece of work wasn't he? A complete mess.
