Question for Farmers or Ranchers

I've always lived in large cities. What is the cost range to buy a pony, horse or cow, and what determines the amout?

If the Amish were on DL we'd have an answer.

OP, do you have a Mercedes and room for a sauna as well?

Do you want a milking cow or a beef cow? Do you want to breed it?

What breed of horse do you want? Broken? (I would think yes, but you never know.)

It's difficult to give you a range. There are people who give away ponies, and even old horses, if they no longer have the ability to feed and house them (or in the case of ponies that are biters, etc.).

r3 is correct. You can often get horses for free or very cheap, especially from county estray auctions or the ASPCA. And there are so many ponies and horses cheap/free to good homes on this website.
