Let him school you.

by Anonymousreply 1210/19/2013

between him, seah Hannity and the billionairs, its just a matter of time before this shit hits the fan.

by Anonymousreply 110/18/2013

Maybe we can bring it back?

by Anonymousreply 210/18/2013

What he is doing is minimizing gays and gypsies, who wouldn't want to kill them, but us poor Christians, oh us poor persecuted Christians.

Germany has always been a deeply Christian nation.

Why are we surprised when the homophobic Right lie and misrepresent facts to further their mission of hate ?

by Anonymousreply 410/18/2013

Germany has always been a deeply Christian nation.

R3,My father is a bible theologian and he knows about what Glenn Beck may have been trying to convey. If you notice, they don't play the whole video. I think Glenn Beck is not talking about religious people ,but people who believed in the bible and who would not go along with the Nazis and compromise because they thought the Nazi's were pure evil and satanic. It would be compromising with the devil himself. In contrast, most of the religious people in Germany didn't have a biblical conviction about the Nazi party and compromised and went along with what whatever the Nazi's told them to do. Those bible believing people were highly hated by the Nazi's because they stood by the bible and stood their ground. Corrie ten Boom and her sister were a bible believing famliy who lived in Holland. They were taken to a concentration camp not only because they refused to comply with the Nazi party and system, but they hid a lot of people in their home in order for them to escape. Corrie ten Boom survived in the camp, but her sister did not.

What he is doing is minimizing gays and gypsies, who wouldn't want to kill them, but us poor Christians, oh us poor persecuted Christians.

R3, I don't think he was minimizing gays and gypsies at all. It is without a doubt, that those people along with Jews and those who were disabled were sent to the concentration camps and were tortured and murdered in a sick and diabolical way. I think he was trying to convey what happened to ,once again, Christians who followed the bible and not religion stood their ground and it can happened again in history. Also, it is possible it was brought up to people's attention because it is rarely known.

If your father is actually any kind of real theologian, then he knows that every mainstream Christian church in Germany and most throughout Europe cooperated with and even endorsed the Nazis, and what "Beck is trying to convey to us" is the tried and true Nazi tactic of co-optation. But I suspect you and your "father" are more than familiar with commonplace right-wing political manipulations, such as appropriating the very abuse that you have inflicted on your victims and claiming their victimhood in order to deflect criticism from yourself for theinfliction of said abuse. It works with the vast swathes of ignorant Americans, who have made "victim" Beck vastly rich. Too bad money can't buy health.

R6, you are really sick. Check yourself into a mental asylum, WOW!

by Anonymousreply 710/18/2013

r6 speaks the truth.

KKKristians try to rewrite history, when they were the ones building the showers and ovens.

R5 and r7 is a shill freep. You know the drill.

R8, those people who are bible believing Christians are nondenominational Pentecostals. They are not the same people who belong to the established religions. The establish religions who went along with the Nazi's never liked the nondenominational bible believers and clashed with them. You don't know what you are talking about. I do because I grew up with a father who knows the bible in every complete detail from cover to cover and I know the that there is huge difference in theologies between, the established religions and the non denominational believers. Your post is based on emotion and lumping everyone together is clearly evident that you do not understand. You are not studious enough to dissect and recognize that established religion and non denominational churches are not the same.

Your post is only relevant to a very minimal degree.

by Anonymousreply 1010/18/2013

You are right, r10--the ultra-conservative types you describe certainly would not have went along with the Nazis as the mainstream churches did. They would have BEEN the Nazis, just as they are now.

Do you honestly not know that you are at a site where most people are literate and at least educated enough to have a passing knowledge of Nazi ideology and modern German history (with a population who have educated themselves beyond reading the Bible cover to cover--an activity that passed for "education" in 1530)? You really will have to do better here. LOL @ "Bible-believing Christians."
