Seashells do not make noise

I seriously think I may be a little "special." My niece just informed me that seashells, when pressed against your ear, make no sound at all. The swooshing noise comes from sound waves bounhing off the curved shell. She said put any curved object up against you ear and it will make the same magical sound. I am an idiot; I really believed seashells emitted noise.

I get that noise when I have high blood pressure myself.

OP, your post contains the most honest and indisputable assertion ever uttered by anyone ever on Datalounge.

OP doesn't know how to use the three seashells!

There, They're, Their OP. It'll be alight.

by Anonymousreply 410/13/2013

What makes the noise then? Is there someone living in there?

by Anonymousreply 510/13/2013

Don't worry about the 'sounds in your head', op.

by Anonymousreply 610/13/2013

It's coming from INSIDE THE SHELL!
