Why are they being settled in Minnesota and Maine, the coldest states in the U.S.?
|by Anonymous||reply 86||10/15/2013|
I noticed them in Minnesota too, mostly working in parking garages. Gorgeous men, their hair is curly not kinky. Definite Arab mixture. But they aren't going to Minnesota of their free will? Who is putting them there and why?
|by Anonymous||reply 1||10/12/2013|
Gorgeous skin. Like silk dark chocolate.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||10/12/2013|
They're not an "Arab mixture." They're intermediate.

It is easy for Somali immigrants to find all types of social service assistance in Minneapolis-St Paul and other areas of Minnesota.
The social service agencies have been set up quite a while for them.
Also, relatives of Somali immigrants already established in Minnesota follow their relatives to the Twin Cities and the state, so the population continues to increase due to relatives following other relatives.

Why did churches in Minnesota decide to sponsor them? Are the Somalis Christian or Muslim?
|by Anonymous||reply 14||10/12/2013|
You must respect their traditions like female circumcision, murdering gays, brutality, etc etc.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||10/12/2013|
R13 and R15 are right. They are typically not nice people. Lots of domestic violence. The women are abused physically and emotionally. I'm not being racist, I am just stating my experiences.

"Whenever we encounter the Infinite in man, however imperfectly understood, we treat it with respect. Whether in the synagogue, the mosque, the pagoda, or the wigwam, there is a hideous aspect which we execrate and a sublime aspect which we venerate. So great a subject for spiritual contemplation, such measureless dreaming—the echo of God on the human wall!"

All of the concerts were cancelled this season, except for the special concerts performed by the musicians of the Orchestra organized and presented by the musicians without the formal structure of the Orchestra.

R70, the gangs in St Paul, Minnesota (St Paul is 12 miles from Minneapolis, but they are connected somewhat as Twin Cities) are mostly comprised of Hmong and black young men.
Are there now gang members who are Somali?
|by Anonymous||reply 74||10/14/2013|
There are definitely Somali gangs, a few have been involved in prostitution. The Somalis started out small, but now are quickly becoming a burden. A lot are on welfare and other " help" programs. You can thank Lutheran Social Services for most of them. There were several newsworthy cases in Minnesota involving Somalis. One Somali bus driver took issue with an advertisement on her bus for Lavender which is the local gay mag. Another was a problem with Somali taxi drivers refusing to transport people carrying alcohol, people with seeing eye dogs, and gay folks. The last one was Somali cashiers at Target refusing to checkout people who were purchasing pork. They are a hateful homophobic, non assimilating people. I personally don't believe they are beneficial to our community one bit. Rude and also very horrible drivers.
