DL icon MEG RYAN to return to television!

Oh, Meg, honey...

by Rogerreply 3710/12/2013

Anyone who signs on for an NBC sitcom is a glutton for punishment.

by Rogerreply 110/11/2013

I hope it's not in HD.

by Rogerreply 210/11/2013

Oh thank god, this looks like it could be even worse than mine.

by Rogerreply 310/11/2013

She needs the work.

by Rogerreply 410/11/2013

She's had too much work already.

by Rogerreply 510/11/2013

I'm referring to the employment, R5.

by Rogerreply 610/11/2013

She's turned into Joan Rivers...

by Rogerreply 710/11/2013

Didn't Meg once say that she "doesn't do" television?

My, how times have changed.

by Rogerreply 810/11/2013

never even nominated

by Rogerreply 910/11/2013

I can smell the stench all the way down here...

by Rogerreply 1010/11/2013

Didn't know "The Joker Returns" was coming to TV

by Rogerreply 1110/11/2013

Her face had been cut to bits! Why is she returning to TV?

by Rogerreply 1210/11/2013

Somewhere Michael Parkinson is giggling.

by Rogerreply 1310/11/2013

I actually think a TV vehicle is a smart move for her...but this cliche premise for NBC? I can't see this lasting.

by Rogerreply 1410/11/2013

Dibs. This is my nominee for the first cancelled show of the 2014 season.

by Rogerreply 1610/11/2013

Will it be called "The Meg Ryan Programme"?

by Rogerreply 1710/11/2013

I remember seeing her on Oprah several years ago (I think she was promoting Proof of Life), and she was talking about her "beauty routine" and how she never wore makeup and could not even apply it. This was before all the facework (at that point, all I noticed was her inflated lip), and she seemed very genuine and not the least bit vain.

In retrospect, I was either terribly naive and Meg is a much better actor in real life than she is on film, or Meg was victimized by terrible advice/management and is rather simple.

by Rogerreply 1910/11/2013

Is she going to play some sort of half duck half woman creature? Because otherwise, I don't think the audience is going to buy it.

by Rogerreply 2010/11/2013

The articles mention that she has turned down many TV offers leading up to this. If this concept is the winner, I'd hate to see what she said 'no' to.

by Rogerreply 2110/11/2013

She looks a lot better without excessive make-up. When she wears red lipstick and eye make-up it only highlights the plastic surgery.

by Rogerreply 2210/11/2013

Can she move the muscles in her face?

by Rogerreply 2310/11/2013

She looks wonderful, young, fresh, she'll be perfect in a show about a single mother struggling through everyday life with children, career and dating. A sure hit for NBC.

by Rogerreply 2410/12/2013

Meg looks phenomenal!

by Rogerreply 2510/12/2013

I did not like Heath Ledger in his role as "Joker".

by Rogerreply 2610/12/2013

Great premise. I'm turning it into a drama starring Allyson Janney.

by Rogerreply 2710/12/2013

Her face has been hacked to bits/Her newest movies have not been hits/We hope she does better/ Wearing "helpless female" big sweaters/And playing a single mom twit.

by Rogerreply 2810/12/2013

Maybe her face has loosened up and calmed down.

by Rogerreply 2910/12/2013

Why doesn't she go back to soaps?

by Rogerreply 3010/12/2013

by Rogerreply 3110/12/2013

Now this is one programme I definitely won't be watching in HD option.

by Rogerreply 3210/12/2013

I'm sure the vaseline smeared lens was stipulated in Ms Ryan's contract, R32.

by Rogerreply 3310/12/2013

I think this will be a hit

by Rogerreply 3410/12/2013

She was on As The World Turns and Charles In Charge.

by Rogerreply 3510/12/2013

even as a ten year old, I saw that her performance on CinC was heinous as all fuck. It was the first time I saw her in anything and I felt so mortified for her. I hate that she crashed films like Hurly Burly and Restoration - in each of them her "work" was the weakest link. In The Cut would have been amazing with someone else in her role.

by Rogerreply 3610/12/2013

She's no Norma Shearer!
