Video: Miley Cyrus Performs "Wrecking Ball" & "We Can't Stop" (Acoustic Version) On Saturday Night Live!

I think she did a great job with the "Wrecking Ball" performance. If she can leave the gimmicks alone and just sing she would have an even more successful music career. What do you all think?

by Anonymousreply 6210/07/2013

Fuck off SNL Troll!

No one cares about that fucking show!

by Anonymousreply 110/05/2013

R1 what's your beef with SNL?

by Anonymousreply 210/05/2013

by Anonymousreply 310/06/2013

Wow...This was exactly what she needed to do...Simple. Powerful. focused on the talent...

by Anonymousreply 410/06/2013

I fell asleep after "Wrecking Ball", but the performance was awesome.

by Anonymousreply 510/06/2013

Wow. You have incredibly low standards if you think that Miley Cyrus can actually sing

by Anonymousreply 610/06/2013

I felt that "Wrecking Ball" perfomance she definitely can sing better than Rihanna and Britney Spears.

by Anonymousreply 710/06/2013

by Anonymousreply 810/06/2013

Britney and Rihanna don't exactly set the bar very high.

by Anonymousreply 910/06/2013

SNL needs to hire Miley. She's perfect for them. She brings the controversy, she seems to be a good sport, and she'll do anything, not unlike Melissa McCarthy.

by Anonymousreply 1010/06/2013

Terribly nasal.

by Anonymousreply 1110/06/2013

Loved it. #MileySeason

by Anonymousreply 1210/06/2013

She sucks and she's permanently damaged goods. She'll OD within a year.

by Anonymousreply 1310/06/2013

She's this generation's Debbie Gibson!

by Anonymousreply 1410/06/2013

What a horrible thing to wish and say on someone R13

by Anonymousreply 1510/06/2013

She's this generation Mackenzie Phillips!

by Anonymousreply 1610/06/2013

That was 100% better than the shit performance at the VMA's. Why does she have to be such a trashy skank?

by Anonymousreply 1710/06/2013

by Anonymousreply 1810/06/2013

R17 because sex sells.

by Anonymousreply 1910/06/2013

Lady Gaga is the Queen of Pop. Katy Perry is the McDonalds of Pop. Miley Cyrus is the Whore of Pop.

by Anonymousreply 2010/06/2013

Katy Perry>>> Lady Gaga R20

by Anonymousreply 2110/06/2013

I personally think she sounded GREAT!

by Anonymousreply 2210/06/2013

What's white and smells like Miley Cyrus?

Billy Ray's finger.

by Anonymousreply 2310/06/2013

The picture of her with her tongue sticking out, one eye screwed closed and black nipple patches on her tits next to a photo of Sinead o'connor made me think, "Which one is the crazy one, again?"

by Anonymousreply 2410/06/2013

12 year old girl at R21. What are you doing on a gay forum, sweetie?

by Anonymousreply 2510/06/2013

We Can't Stop is a great song. it really is. And I'm a 56 year old man whose taste runs more towards folk and Broadway. She sings this better live than I thought she would; her phrasing and pitch are both very good, especially considering this isn't an easy song to sing because there are very few places to breathe. That said, I will never listen to or watch her again because of her response to Sinead O'Connor. There is never any excuse to make fun of someone's mental troubles. Shame on her.

by Anonymousreply 2610/06/2013

I think she at the very least sounds like her records. That's saying a lot in this autotune era. Only Adele and Gaga (and maybe Beyonce) can really sing among the Big Pop Stars. Miley doesn't have a great voice, but she stays in key and it's HER voice. Sort of like Madonna (not comparing careers, just voices).

by Anonymousreply 2710/06/2013

R27 I don't think Madonna can sing. She's in the same lane as Britney Spears to me. Miley can actually hold a note and did really well on SNL.

by Anonymousreply 2810/06/2013

Madonna stay on key? YouTube Take A Bow Live.

by Anonymousreply 2910/06/2013

Miley looked good in the Michele Bachmann wig.

by Anonymousreply 3010/06/2013

I stand corrected. Sorry, I fear the wrath of the MadgeBot.

by Anonymousreply 3110/06/2013

Saw We can't stop & I thought she did great. She can sing live. She would not have a problem selling tickets.

by Anonymousreply 3210/06/2013

Miley can sing just fine. She is not "great" in the same way Madonna is not "great", but they can both perform and keep themselves talked about. They both have good voices for dance pop and radio-ready ballads.

I see a lot of a young Madonna in Miley. A slave to well-orchestrated and shrewdly calculated "controversy" as a means of promoting the act and the music. Bravo to her. Much, much more than I would have expected from Hannah Montana.

by Anonymousreply 3310/06/2013

Miley Succubus makes the Knowles/Camel bitch sound like Maria Callas by comparison.

by Anonymousreply 3410/06/2013

She looks really worn out for a 20 year old. I was surprised by the creases in her neck, they were really prominent in HD. Guess I'm used to seeing 'shopped Miley.

by Anonymousreply 3510/06/2013

[all posts by tedious, racist idiot removed.]

by Anonymousreply 3610/06/2013

Miley is not tone deaf but she has a very ugly, unpleasant tone. Like Rihanna, she can belt but it's not pretty.

by Anonymousreply 3710/06/2013

I thought the acoustic version was good. Of course I wasn't expecting anything.

by Anonymousreply 3810/06/2013

I'm not fan of Miley Cyrus, not my demographic and not my type of music, though I do wonder why so many former tween stars feel that their sexuality is the only aspect then can use to transition their career into adulthood. Why is their focus always sex?

The joke is, there is nothing remotely sexy about a 20 year old female who looks like a teenage boy.

Miley might not have the greatest voice but she certainly has a better and more powerful voice that people like Britney Spears, a person who cannot technically sing, yet is rich and famous.

Spears 'singing' career is based on studio production, gimmicks, stage productions and fueled by gossip....all to cover the lack of actual talent and a thin nasally voice.

I guess it's the world we live in today, where everything else but actual talent seems more important to fans. If fans didn't accept the hype surrounding these people a lot of no-talents wouldn't have careers.

by Anonymousreply 3910/06/2013

[quote] why so many former tween stars feel that their sexuality is the only aspect then can use to transition their career into adulthood. Why is their focus always sex?

I have no idea.

by Anonymousreply 4010/06/2013

I was disappointed she didn't perform her hit, "Bust My Hymen, D***y".

by Anonymousreply 4110/06/2013

[all posts by tedious, racist idiot removed.]

by Anonymousreply 4210/06/2013

She did a good job on SNL regardless of her past antics.

by Anonymousreply 4310/06/2013

I don't see Madonna when I look at Miley, sorry.

by Anonymousreply 4410/06/2013

I love Sinead!

by Anonymousreply 4510/06/2013

[quote]I guess it's the world we live in today, where everything else but actual talent seems more important to fans. If fans didn't accept the hype surrounding these people a lot of no-talents wouldn't have careers.

Have younger people ever embraced talent? They may have embraced someone who was talented but I don't think young people embrace someone because of their talent. It's always been the mystique or the personae since Elvis and beyond.

by Anonymousreply 4610/06/2013

I agree. I was surprised that I felt that way, that I actually thought she did a great job with "Wrecking Ball" on SNL. I had pretty much written Miley Cyrus off as a no talent, no class slut. I felt completely different after seeing that performance. Plus, she was actually very funny in the skits on SNL. Hopefully, it was just a one-time VERY BAD CHOICE she made on the Music Awards. Maybe it's time to let "Bygones Be Bygones" & forgive Miley for her stupid, immature, slutty behavior on the Music Awards.

by Anonymousreply 4710/06/2013

SNL gives Miley an appropriate stage for her inappropriate behavior. She's not gonna stop this crap. She loves the attention too much.

They should hire her. She should beg them to hire her.

She could still sing and act out on the side.

by Anonymousreply 4810/06/2013

She's a cunt.

by Anonymousreply 4910/06/2013

Is R47 supposed to be a joke? Or just dumber than a bag of hair?

I forgive you, too, R47, for being a stupid cunt.

by Anonymousreply 5010/06/2013

Agree with R47 Miley did a good job on SNL!

by Anonymousreply 5110/06/2013

R51 Do you agree with R47 that we should "forgive" MC for her "slutty" behavior?

R47 is a stupid cunt who probably idolized Hannah Montana.

by Anonymousreply 5210/06/2013

R52 I agree that her SNL performance opened my eyes that she has some talent there. I liked her SNL "Wrecking Ball" live performance, bite me!

by Anonymousreply 5310/06/2013

I think she is performing on The Today Show, tomorrow.

by Anonymousreply 5410/06/2013

It sounds like she relied on Autotune, particularly with "Wrecking Ball."

by Anonymousreply 5510/06/2013

They all do, R55

by Anonymousreply 5610/07/2013

I can't stand her! Miley is already comparing herself to Madonna and Lady Gaga, since being #1 on Maxim magazine.

Bitch needs to get over herself.

by Anonymousreply 5710/07/2013

Miley is like the female version of Justin Beiber.

by Anonymousreply 5810/07/2013

[quote][R27] I don't think Madonna can sing. She's in the same lane as Britney Spears to me. Miley can actually hold a note and did really well on SNL.

Sure, with the help of Auto-tune.

by Anonymousreply 5910/07/2013

This bitch wants to be me so bad, it's pathetic!!!!

by Anonymousreply 6010/07/2013

[quote]Madonna had a cultural frame of reference that Miley wouldn't know if it stuck its' tongue up her flat pancake ass.

Exactly. I've grown tired of her shit, when Madonna was pulling these stunts she had a very specific and detailed agenda and you could name the buttons she was pushing beyond just "sex". Cyrus is an uneducated slob who seems to have no real plan and just goes with whatever seems good at the moment.

by Anonymousreply 6110/07/2013

R61 Miley is smarter than you think. It's a different time and generation with the internet and all. What worked for Madonna in the 80's won't work in 2013.
