It's great being naked.

R1. Yes, I have been to many nude beaches around the world. I most often go to Black's Beach in San Diego, where you may be naked.
There are families now and then at nude beaches, but mainly adults and no children comprise of the beachgoers.
Yes, there are some obvious gay guys and many not so obvious. Many nude beaches have gay and straights sections. The gays and straights are often in different areas or at least a bit of distance apart. Yes, there is some cruising by both gays and straights; however, nude beaches are mainly about being free and nude and not about sex.
Sure, there are some beaches where sex may happen out of the way or in the bushes, but it's not the norm at all.

Have you been on a subway lately? I don't think anyone would want to see the 'average American' naked! Most people don't look good naked.
Especially when you travel through middle America, the 'average' weight seems to be close to 200 pounds, for men and women, even their dogs are fat!
I did some cross country traveling by car in the 1990s, I was amazed at how obese so many people were and how these slobs considered themselves to be normal weight! Scary.

Two interesting (to me) observations:
1) A huge number shave the pubes all the way down. Clipping is one thing, but I didn't realize the number of people who shave it all the way down (please no natural vs. shaving trolls - this is merely an observation, not a qualitative judgment)
2) A surprising number of the men are sporting wood and don't seem to be concerned.

Stop with the damn board shorts. Get naked or don't bother showing up to a nude beach.

Being naked and seeing other people naked are not the same thing.

If people were naked on the subway, I'd never sit down in one again.

Being naked on a nude beach is about being free and body acceptance. It's not for everyone.
A nude beach is not synonymous--nor should it be--with a porn movie complete with waxed, shaved and toned bodies. A nude beach has an entirely different vibe and reason for being there. This is not to say that you don't look at others who are naked, but the idea of nudism or naturism isn't based in sex, but rather freedom.

I prefer all-male nudity.
