I just bought 2lbs of beautiful shishito peppers

Has anyone here made them before? If so, what's the best way? I see they can be baked, grilled and sauteed.

I think they will go great with the craft beers I have in the fridge.

They cause you to get the shishits.

You poor wannabe.

[quote]You poor wannabe.

wannabe what? Shishito peppers are cheap and delicious. They aren't fancy.

What? Because I hate Coors and Miller and like IPA's? Sheesh..

Anyway R3, thanks for the link, but I was wondering if any DL'ers have made them.

I think I'm going to use garlic, fresh ginger, soy sauce and sesame oil and saute them.

When did vegetables and beer become "MARY!" worthy?

by Anonymousreply 409/28/2013

'Craft Beer' -- oh, geez.

by Anonymousreply 509/28/2013

I hope you have plenty of 'farm-fresh butter' to sauté them in. You tool.

by Anonymousreply 609/28/2013

Ohhh-hhhh, for Heaven's sakes! Don't forget the Flakey Sea Salt!!!

by Anonymousreply 709/28/2013

What ingredient makes some ales taste like horrid medicine? Is it the hops?

by Anonymousreply 809/28/2013

Don't forget to stand in front of your mirror and practice your self-satisfied smiles.

by Anonymousreply 909/28/2013

OP, we can pickle that!

by Anonymousreply 1009/28/2013

If you think Shishito peppers and "craft beer" are MARY worthy, y'all are morons.

by Anonymousreply 1109/28/2013

Sauté them in olive oil 'til they're charred and blistered (should only take about 5 minutes) and sprinkle some good salt on them. I've been some some black truffle salt somebody gave me, but plain Maldon sea salt would work well, too. Easy as hell, and yes, delicious with a beer.
