Britney Spears’ Vegas Show Bombing At The Box Office: ‘Ticket Sales Are Way Lower Than Expected…It’s A Disaster,’ Says
Britney Spears is back — or is she?The 31-year-old singer’s new gig for a two-year residency of her stage show Britney: Piece of Me at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas has had dismal ticket sales, at best, and an industry insider exclusively tell RadarOnline.com that everyone involved with the show is really worried.
The numbers are in, and of the first 16 shows running Dec. 27 through Feb. 22, Spears has only sold out three shows.“After spending hundreds of thousands on promo, they expected to instantly sell out all of the first 16 shows, but they didn’t come close!” the source told Radar.
“In fact, Britney only sold out three of the 16 shows put on sale and many are considering this a disaster.”According to the insider, Las Vegas residencies in the past such as Celine Dion and Shania Twain sold out their first block of shows right away.“There are nearly 50 shows a year and the theater is small…it only holds about 4,500 people,” the source said.“So all of this put together really isn’t looking well for Britney. Ticket sales need to start skyrocketing or else there’s going to be a lot of disappointed investors and people involved with the show."

I have nothing against Britney, but it's time for her to fade away. She's got, what, a hundred million? She should raise her kids, take her Lithium, and eat all the Cheetos her little heart desires behind the walls of her Malibu fortress.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||09/23/2013|
Shocking. Don't they do any market research before they go spending hundreds of millions of dollars on shit like this?
|by Anonymous||reply 2||09/23/2013|
I saw her last tour. She didn't even bother trying to pretend to lipsync.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||09/23/2013|
Duh. Who thought this would be a good idea? Previously, people came to see the likes Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Toni Braxton, Shania Twain...they don't appeal to tone-deaf teeny boppers, white trash girls and the tasteless sector within the gay community.
Tone-deaf teeny boppers, white trash girls and tasteless gays are Shitney's fan base, but most of them can't afford to go to Las Vegas and see a show.
Celine, Bette, Toni and Shania command a classy audience who can spend a buck.
Obviously this Shitney Vegas stint will FLOP. Most people are aware she can't sing, won't sound good live, no longer dances, has no personality and is just a robot. Who would pay good money for that shit?
|by Anonymous||reply 5||09/23/2013|
Sales will probably improve once her new record is released and she goes into turbo promotion mode.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||09/23/2013|
There comes a point in a performer's career when they should realize that it's probably time to cash in their chips and sit back and relax. Maybe reinvent themselves at some point in the future, maybe not, but stop trying to force a square peg into a hole that's turned round while they weren't looking.

Have you been to Vegas lately?

This is the future of Miley Cyrus.
I just love that Anna Wintour axed her Vogue Cover because Wintour found her VMA performance "distasteful."
|by Anonymous||reply 9||09/23/2013|
I'm a 'hipster' who has come to love Britney as an ironic symbol of American heartbreak and dissolution.
As a hipster, she is now more important than ever.

This fall is so packed with female pop stars like none before:Britney ,Lady GaGa,Katy Perry,Rihanna,JLo,Shakira ,Cher,Mariah,Kylie,Beyonce ,Miley and some of them (GaGa,Britney) are flopping,at least for now while some other(Katy,Miley) are riding high.It seems as if this fall will bring some kind of weeding out/sieving in terms of who will start fading and who`s gonna stay.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||09/23/2013|
Anyone who pays money to see a concert where they know the "artist" will be lip synching is a total moron.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||09/23/2013|
But why is payola still needed when the radio stations are owned by corporations who also own or have shares in the music business?
|by Anonymous||reply 14||09/23/2013|
Not a lot people buy their tickets that far in advance especialy for Las Vegas shows, and in Vegas there will always be a lot of people who will go see a show at the last minute. even if they aren't huge fans, if there are tickets left to buy.
Also not mentioned, the casino puts a hold on a big block of tickets, they aren't sold to the casino until the day of the show, but they are listed as unsold tickets. The casino gives away these seats, to high rollers and bigger winners, in the days right before the show or lets them go on the day of the show.
So I wouldn't put a lot of stock in these dire predictions.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||09/23/2013|
Britney will sell tickets as people start boozing in the casinos.
She'll be the "Hey *burp* let's go see Britney fucking Spears"!! comment you'll hear at the pool.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||09/23/2013|
If I'm in a Vegas casino and they offer me comp tickets to a Britney Spears concert, I will throw my drink in their face right after my spit take in their face. Who's opening Ace of Bass?
|by Anonymous||reply 18||09/23/2013|
I said `at least for now` and I had `Applause` in mind ,not `Artpop`(actually you reminded me of `Artpop` preorders).The race has just begun,nothing`s been settled yet.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||09/23/2013|
It's weird imagining 4,500 people being seated in a theater--perfectly still--while this chick performs dance music. Will that not be a bit odd?
|by Anonymous||reply 20||09/23/2013|
Maybe, just maybe, Britney's ticket prices are too expensive. How 'bout that?
Britney's management is probably gouging the public regardless of it being Vegas or how many shows Celine Dion and Shania Twain sold out.
One minor little detail to also keep in mind: Celine and Shania can sing.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||09/23/2013|
r21, who sits at a concert...especially perfectly still?!
Most people stand at a concert, particularly something like a Britney/Madonna/Gaga concert. Also the entire floor is standing room only.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||09/23/2013|
[quote]I just love that Anna Wintour axed her Vogue Cover because Wintour found her VMA performance "distasteful."
I suspect Wintour didn't really want a Miley cover and the performance was the perfect excuse to drop her. No matter how they styled her, Miley Cyrus doesn't fit the Vogue image at all.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||09/23/2013|
Sorry, I've enjoyed most of her music, but I would never pay those kind of ticket prices for a 90 minute karaoke show.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||09/23/2013|
Who wants to pay money to watch some bloated, glazed zombie poorly lip sync and dance by holding up one hand at random intervals?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||09/23/2013|
I think Applause is actually a minor hit. It's not Roar (worst song ever), but it's been a solid Top 5 hit for well over a month now. It's one of those songs that grows on you too. I think Artpop will sell the most among all the pop albums coming out.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||09/23/2013|
The tickets have only been on sale for three days.
Has her fan base yet aged to the point that they have enough disposable income to spend on a Vegas trip and show? The tickets are $70-$200.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||09/23/2013|
Her fans grew up downloading her music for free on Napster...they ain't gonna pay $200 to watch her traipse around like Weekend at Bernies.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||09/23/2013|
She used to be a great touring artist until the Onyx Hotel tour (whichever one when she had brown hair towards the end and then basically cancelled it to hang out/marry KFed). She was beautiful and sexy enough that she was worth paying money to see something like her in person, plus it was strenuous dancing for hours on end.
People pretend she had a "comeback" but she's still dancing and performing at the exact same level as the "gimme more" vma disaster. All the spark/energy is gone.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||09/23/2013|
I like Britney primarily for her albums, the same as I like Kate Bush. I have no wish to see them in person, in concert. All I require is their iconic voices.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||09/23/2013|
Wasn't KFed her drug connection R31? I recall reading that somewhere.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||09/23/2013|
Couldn't they get Christina Aguilera instead of Shitney? Xtina isn't popular enough to sell out concert halls around the globe anymore, but she can sure sing live and her image and persona would fit very well with Vegas.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||09/23/2013|
A 4,500 seat theatre seems like a big reach considering middle America is disappearing.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||09/23/2013|
R34 - that's a good idea, but she needs a Back to Basics Volume II so she has enough material to do her fun jazz, swing inspired material. No one wants to hear "Can't Hold us Down," "Dirrty" or any of her other sex songs.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||09/23/2013|
Come to broadway and play MAME!!!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 36||09/23/2013|
R34. Christina would likely do very well in Vegas. People would go to see a dogfight in Vegas. And Christina has a voice--and she doesn't need to play a 4,500-seat theatre.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||09/23/2013|
[quote]Has her fan base yet aged to the point that they have enough disposable income to spend on a Vegas trip and show? The tickets are $70-$200.
Her fan base is spending that money plus some more to see Beyonce!
|by Anonymous||reply 38||09/23/2013|
Something unplugged where it's just a spotlight and Britney sitting on her stool crooning the great American songbook would do a lot to raise her credibility at this point.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||09/23/2013|
Shitney never had "an iconic voice" and even at her "peak" it was never worth it to shell out that amount of money to see her lip sync around stage. She was a good dancer but certainly not on Janet or Paula's level. Shitney is basically the watered down, rehashed version of those 2.
Shitney is rightfully turning into a flop. She should have been a 1 hit wonder. It's joke she's had such a long and successful career.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||09/23/2013|

r40, I'd like to see that too. Here's Britney singing Toxic Unplugged:
|by Anonymous||reply 43||09/23/2013|
[quote].they ain't gonna pay $200 to watch her traipse around like Weekend at Bernies.
R30 for the win.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||09/23/2013|
Whatever excuses are made for this, the sad truth is that there aren't 72,000 fans found (worldwide) that are willing to pay to see her!!!!!For someone of her stardom, it pretty much says everything.
I like Britney. She's had some great hit songs (not art but good dance songs) but she could never sing even with autotune, let alone without. She brought the onslaught of talent free stars that become bazillionaires and household names while great singers and artists can't get a break to save their lives.
Or maybe I should say - it started with Madonna and went downhill from there.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||09/23/2013|
R31: I find it difficult to believe Britney was ever any good in concert.
At the height of her fame, before the breakdown, when she sang "live" on the MTV awards or Grammys, it was a BIG event. But it was clear that she was badly lip-syncing. And her dancing was always really off, as if she had tried and tried to learn the steps, y'all, but they was, like, super-hard.
I always felt as if she was counting in her head to remember the steps, but was always one step behind.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||09/23/2013|
I saw her this weekend in Vegas getting into an elevator at the Wynn Tower Suites. She had only a few body guards but her fedora was pulled down low. She looked like total shit. No makeup and exhausted/wasted. She'll never make the performance schedule.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||09/23/2013|
I'd like to know who's pushing Britney to work? Is it her parents? Her handlers? I can't imagine she's doing it on her own accord, she seems perfectly content doing nothing.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||09/23/2013|
[all posts by tedious, racist idiot removed.]
|by Anonymous||reply 50||09/23/2013|
Me, too, R50. If her handlers invest her money wisely she has no need to work. High levels of expectation and stress are the last things someone who is bipolar or mentally ill needs. That she's still on conservatorship speaks volumes.
I guess there's a sort of schedule and regularity involved in Vegas shows, but there seem to be so many other drawbacks for someone with her condition, not least of which is Vegas itself. Not the best atmosphere for someone who's had drug or alcohol problems.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||09/23/2013|
All this is worrisome. I hope she can pull this off. We are only about seven years past the start of her downward spiral.

[all posts by tedious, racist idiot removed.]
|by Anonymous||reply 54||09/23/2013|
She's a sad, creepy music business Project Monarch dancing puppet, controlled by evil parents. She'll be overwhelmed by this, she'll OD (maybe assisted), she'll die, and we'll all get the gaudy, lurching, impossible-to-avoid, "tragic" grieving ritual to make us all disoriented and "sad". Media depictions will be treacly and aggressively inaccurate, MJ DOA v2.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||09/23/2013|
If her parents aren't there for her, parasites like Sam Lufti and the other guy will move in to control her. Sam Lufti moved on to Amanda Bynes recently. By all accounts, her father has been a good conservator. Prior to her breakdown, he'd begun to work as a chef somewhere in L.A. and I've read he maintained the job. Her family seems to have stayed low-key, at least, unlike the Lohans. Maintaining them probably doesn't cost a great deal.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||09/23/2013|
K Fed mustve had some serious pipe laying skills, she went off the rails right after they got divorced. Sometimes you just lose it if you know you're not going to get that good dick anymore.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||09/23/2013|
I saw the interview she did just a few days ago about her new Vegas show and you could tell she didn't give two shits about it. She's just going to walk/pose through the whole thing. I can't imagine anyone thinking Britney would sing live, but given her recent performances, she didn't even put in the effort to even do that properly. She's totally over the whole thing and someone won't let her quit.
I have a soft spot for her because my niece is bi-polar and a talented musician, but there is no way she could handle the demands that Britney must be under. She'd completely unravel in a matter of months. I'll be amazed if Britney can pull this off.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||09/23/2013|
Anyone who thinks they are going to get a good show out of Brit should first see the video of her horrendous sleepwalking in her musical tour video "Femme Fatale". And you thought Ludes weren't made any more?
|by Anonymous||reply 60||09/23/2013|
Ok, you guys, its a bit early to say that her album and residency have flopped. She hasn't even released the video for the first single yet.
When that video (finally) comes out, I expect a bump. Millions of people don't even know that she has a new single out. I imagine she will ramp up the promotion at some point.
Also, I think I heard a few months back that she is back in control of her estate.
What I want to know is the true story about those 6 months when she was riding around with the paps and ended up dating one and hiring one to manager her.
WTF? That was one hell of a break-down.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||09/23/2013|
Right, drugs are the only reason the talent-free lipsyncher can't put on a good show. If she were clean, at least she could lipsynch competently, and who in the right mind would ask for more? I hate talented musicians, their icky talent is so boring.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||09/23/2013|
Someone on this and the other Britney thread needs to get off the computer for a few weeks.
This is America's sweetheart after all, if you think she is a no-talent hack then fine, but do you need to tell us ever other post?
What do you do for a living? How is your singing voice? You must be the perfect specimen to be so critical. Why don't you post a video of your talents? I am sure you are incredible.
In the meantime, back away from the computer.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||09/23/2013|
They may be arguably better, R64. Don't be against it. A white hillbilly girl growling like T-Boz with autotune assistance is no major accomplishment.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||09/23/2013|
R64, it's not someone. It's everyone but you. Admit it you're the poster that's been calling Britney's voice "iconic" just now you're posting from home.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||09/23/2013|
There he goes again. We get it. You don't like Britney, so why keep going from Britney thread to Britney thread, post after post of how much you hate her.
Just walk away bud, nobody is going to ever miss you. And you are holding up the line at Wendy's you need to get off your htc phone and get back to taking orders. Your cig break is over.

No, you just clear out your IP address ,it is obvious when there is only one or two hits on trolldar, and then that poster never comes back or is heard from again. as if you could just stop there.
We get it , you hate Britney, we get it, we get it, we get it. Please stop posting the same post.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||09/23/2013|
By "iconic voice" I assume that person actually means unique. Her singing voice certainly is unique...it's like she can't decide which voice to use. It's like listening to Paris Hilton talk. She switches between her baby voice and her low-pitched man voice and then back again.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||09/23/2013|
lmao these Shitney stans are sadder than Shitney herself, as they continue to support and defend the untalented nutcase. R64 , many people who aren't in the music business can sing a lot better than her, and most people who can't sing well don't try to make a professional career out of it. You're pathetic for acting like we can't criticize her. She didn't have to become a "singer". She could have happily been some backup dancer.
Shitney sucks. Case closed.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||09/23/2013|
Click on any one of the "shitney" posts in the other thread and you will see only one post from each poster.
Do you really expect us to believe that these are each different people posting exactly one time using the name "shitney"
Or is it more likely that these are all the same person who refreshing their IP address between posts.
We'll let everyone else on this board figure it out because this exchange is lowering my IQ.

Trolldar r 71... REALLY? Hmmm, just one post from you in all of Datalounge? Do you think we are stupid?

Not everyone is a stupid as you.

How do you refresh your IP address on a computer?
Enquiring trolls want to know.

I am not talking to you r75 unless you have to KEEP saying it. Just give you opinion and move on.
Its the obsessive comments that I am talking about. Are you unable to separate concepts?
Concept 1: Britney is a no-talent hack
Concept 2: I am going to repeat this claim until it kills the thread and discussion
Different concepts. Don't hurt your brain too much trying to follow my grievance.

Shitney fan meltdown alert! trolldar lights up this page. Give it a rest-she sucks and doesn't give a shit about you. Why do you defend her? She can't sing and can't dance anymore. She should just go live the rest of her life happily. As a performer Shitney is so horrible.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||09/23/2013|
R77, I've posted 3 times now and you've posted 8. Maybe you should just give your opinion and move on.
Britney is a no-talent hack. Everyone agrees except you. So there's one troll calling her Shitney. Everyone agrees with the troll, not you.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||09/23/2013|
There is someone around here lately who doesn't have a clue what the word "iconic" means. They also claimed that Seinfeld is the most iconic comedy in the history of television.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||09/23/2013|
Speaking as someone who actually likes her music ... this Vegas residency was a FUCKING HORRIBLE idea. Performers like Cher, Elton and Bette can consistently pull in fans willing to pay $150 or more per ticket because they have PERSONALITY. Moreover, they are seasoned performers who will bend over BACKWARDS to put on a good show, because they feed off the rush they get from an interested audience (hence the reason Cher is about to embark on her *fourth* "retirement" tour). But Britney? Seriously? C'mon: she's basically a robot. She doesn't even *write* her own songs, let alone *sing* them, and while certainly the likes of Elton John have "issues," none have had such recent, and open, bouts with a major DSM-IV disorder. Granted, I don't think Celine Dion has much of a personality, either, but she most definitely has a VOICE (arguably one of the best in pop music history - which I say as someone who *hates* her music btw).
Anyway, Britney certainly doesn't have the kind of fan base that's going to revolve an entire *trip* around seeing her, so this expectation of an instant sellout of dozens of shows or whatever was just stupid. I also have to question the veracity of this supposed "source" saying shit like "many are considering this a disaster." Gee, that doesn't sound at ALL like some bitchy queen with an axe to grind with Britney! (Perez, that ain't you, is it, baby?)
|by Anonymous||reply 81||09/23/2013|
It's mind-blowing how this whole Britney Spears person keeps going, and going, and going. Her lucky stars sure have aligned because it boggles the mind how someone with so little talent could have such a long career and massive bank account. She's gotta be in shock about it herself--pinching herself every day when she wakes up to make sure it's really happening. How many breaks can one talentless person possibly get in life? Completely inexplicable. Meanwhile, countless truly talented individuals go completely unnoticed and unappreciated. It really makes you wonder who is in control of all this madness.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||09/23/2013|
Yes, r82, I had the same feeling about this "source" and how the piece comes off as a hit on Brit or maybe her manager. It just seems way to early to call this a disaster.
The show might prove to be unsuccessful, but unless I am missing something, the article seems to jump the gun.
I want to hear more about Sam Lufti and him going after Amanda bynes. What a predator, does he every try to manage acts that are not having a break-down?

I made my point. And now have moved on,
So lets hear more about Sam Lufti.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||09/23/2013|
I have no idea about this Sam Lufti dude going after Amanda Bynes, but I do clearly remember that Britney's dad got a restraining order against him as soon as he assumed conservatorship of her ... well, her whole life, I guess.

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 23 (UPI)--Britney Spears' publicist Monday denied a report claiming the pop star will lip-sync performances during her upcoming two-year Las Vegas residency.
"Britney will be singing. As stated before, she is in vocal training -- has been for months," her representative told the New York Daily News.
But another source told the newspaper Spears won't actually be singing during her 90-minute shows at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, starting Dec. 27.
"Britney does not sing. She is being paid a lot of money to lip-sync," one insider said.
"Her fans are none the wiser, but it is disingenuous of her to take their cash and not deliver a proper performance," the source said.
"She hasn't sung live for a couple of years. If the crowd thinks they are being cheated then there is likely to be an uproar, but then again look at the success of Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson shows. The performers in that production don't sing live, and it has been a runaway success."

That's what happens when the media tries to tell the public what they *must* have .... they turn pretty quickly. Justin was better off before the press declared he was 'it' and was the second coming with that recent tribute, etc. Backfired. Good.

Not one single from Timberlake's 1 of 1 was a No. 1. Not even the single he released with Jay-Z from his CD.
And the first single from 2-of-2 stalled at No. 30.
He has to be realizing that his career is on the downswing.

That Timberlake fag makes me laugh every time I see him on television. He really thinks he's God's gift, doesn't he? All that smugness for...what exactly? I'm proud to say he hasn't made one red cent off of me.

Why they thought having a series of "live" performances by Britney Spears would be a good idea is completely puzzling. She is the epitome of a studio creation; none of her fans give a flying fuck about live music or would likely even be able to distinguish live from recorded music if they were actually exposed to the latter at some point. They could just as easily set up a a huge monitor and stream Vevo.

Britney looks like she has some black and native ancestry to me. She truly is an All-American icon.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||09/24/2013|
And for all of you haters, when you hear the name Britney Spears your brain registers it as a sexy image.
You know it's true. The Britney haters are just sex-negative puritans.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||09/24/2013|
R115 that bitch is white as snow. Only a delusional stan would think otherwise. Her name is not synonymous with "sexy"; it makes us think of "untalented", "lazy", "lucky", "puppet", "robot", shall I go on?
Delusional Shitney stans are crazier than their homegurl.
|by Anonymous||reply 115||09/24/2013|
many people are "white as snow" and have black and native ancestry. My God, things are more subtle than your understanding.
Most black people in America are part white but you can't see that either. Genetics is a complex issue and we are truly a melting pot in this country.
I have a rather sophisticated eye and can discern if someone is mixed race even though they appear to be one 'color.'
|by Anonymous||reply 117||09/24/2013|
Britney has never harmed anyone, why do some of you hate her so much?
She's a popular entertainer. She's not a murderous dictator. MY GAWD it's weird to read the hateful posts you make about her.
|by Anonymous||reply 119||09/24/2013|
R121 no one is wishing her harm or death-we're wishing her career will flop so we don't have to hear about her anymore. She's not talented and it's maddening that so many talented singers with big personalities don't have a chance at a career because this shit prevails #fact
|by Anonymous||reply 120||09/24/2013|
Scream and Shout` was such a smash last winter (#1 in 23 countries if I counted correctly) that it looked that people really want Britney,want her back ,and that the coast was clear for another smashing album and era but so far it`s not turning out that way at all.Is it because she didn`t release an album right after S&S` or are people finally getting sick of her or what?
|by Anonymous||reply 121||09/24/2013|
Well, there is room for more than Britney and her genre--last I heard people like Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson and Elvis Costello were still beloved entertainers.
Britney hasn't strong-armed anyone out of the music business. She's just one act.
|by Anonymous||reply 122||09/24/2013|
R123, I think her handlers are overprotecting her and insulating her from the real world. Their excuse would be that she's unstable and on meds. But if that's true, why is she going to have to work so hard when she doesn't want to do this anymore?
|by Anonymous||reply 123||09/24/2013|
R123 that shitty song "Scream and Shout" came out at a great time. With a lot of pop singers releasing new music now, Shitney doesn't stand a chance. Cyrus, Perry, Gaga all trump her. Even that new nearly tone-deaf Lorde chick is beating her out.

|by Anonymous||reply 127||09/24/2013|
If a performer has to lypsych, they were never a singer in the first place.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||09/24/2013|
Britney lip-syncs because her dance moves are so demanding, almost gymnastic moves.
Now, she has toned all that down because of her meds and perhaps aging but still, you try singing into a microphone while doing her act.
|by Anonymous||reply 129||09/24/2013|
Just a correction to a mistaken concept in this thread. Bette did not do well in Vegas at all. She wasn't exactly a bomb, but she didn't justify her salary. Cher did better than Bette but both weren't close to matching Celine or even Elton or Shania.
There's no way Britney will succeed in a place twice as big as the Colisseum.
And lipsynching isn't new. Celine, Bette and Cher all do/did it. They couldn't sustain their voices for such an engagement.
|by Anonymous||reply 130||09/24/2013|
Scream and Shout was a Will I am Song..featuring Brit Brit...
Her last CD was pretty damn good actually. A lot of the unreleased tracks are better than the hits.
|by Anonymous||reply 131||09/24/2013|
It's pretty dysfunctional, actually, to support her "brand" at this point. She'd probably be happy to be "voted out".
I'm looking forward to some cleansing wave to wipe all the corporate slave-whores right off the cultural map
|by Anonymous||reply 132||09/24/2013|
I was puzzled myself as to why Bette got paid the big bucks in Vegas--she just would not sustain an audience there. I mean, who would pay 200 bucks to see fucking Bette Midler in Vegas?
People want sexy, or drama, or sentimental, and Bette cannot provide that. She's still a Catskills act ultimately, and that may be cute for a lounge act that is free with purchase of two cocktails.

[quote]But I take more joy in the yawn greeting Justin Timberlake's second single (only released because the first totally flopped) from his upcoming new CD. Yes, he's releasing "2 of 2" like we are clamoring for more.
Don't be so damn jealous.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||09/24/2013|
R130 singer or syncer, it matters very little on Brit's act, nobody pays to see her singing her heart out in the concert, it's not going to happen and everyone knows that.
|by Anonymous||reply 135||09/24/2013|
the is from radaronline....quoting an "insider"....
who is probably conchita the maid at PH towers...
except for new years eve that time frame 12/27-2/2 is not the most active in vegas. If you go to stub hub and look at the actual amount of tickets left for all the shows they are in the hundreds as in some have less than 100 left some have less than 400 left..in a 4500 seat theater.
|by Anonymous||reply 136||09/24/2013|
You want to know who's kicking ass in Vegas?
Donny and Marie. They've got it wrapped up there, forever, if they choose.
Marie especially owns that town. Why? She's a sentimental act, and reminds people that they were happier and more optimistic in the seventies.
But how do they fill seats night after night, for years on end, with no hits or recent television exposure?
That's just another Vegas mystery.
|by Anonymous||reply 137||09/24/2013|
Britney will succeed in Vegas for the same reason that Jubilee and all of those other topless chorus girl acts worked for all for those years.
People want to see a sexy woman dance. Period. No one cares if she sings live or not. Britney is made for Vegas.
If her handlers are smart, they'll have her come out on stage nearly naked.
|by Anonymous||reply 138||09/24/2013|
Actually Terry Fator is the king of Las Vegas shows.

Many of the tickets are given out for "free" to couples who attend a "no pressure" 90-minute timeshare presentation.

Answer me this honestly: do you think `Work Bitch` will become more succesful after the video arrives or not?
|by Anonymous||reply 152||09/24/2013|
R154 Gaga's video for "Applause" didn't bring that song to #1 so it's even more doubtful Shitney will receive that much of a bump up from releasing hers. "Work Bitch" might crack the top 10 but barely. It's fine for a new recording act or someone making a comeback, but for someone who is considered to be "a top name", it's a terrible result.
|by Anonymous||reply 153||09/24/2013|
Gaga's "Applause" is still #6 on iTunes. That's actually amazing.
Britney's album is coming out the week after One Direction's. That a really dumb move.
|by Anonymous||reply 154||09/24/2013|
Britney's heart hasn't been in performing for a long time. Through her videos, she has been trying to convey her indentured (and worse) existence.
Las Vegas, if it indeed turns out a financial disaster, will precede the "alone in a hotel room."

|by Anonymous||reply 161||10/03/2013|

|by Anonymous||reply 162||10/03/2013|
Her collapse is complete. She can't strike god no matter how hard she tries. Thank god!
|by Anonymous||reply 163||10/03/2013|
She really is talentless, and I have nothing against her. I would never call her "Shitney". She's just a pop star. Totally harmless. I feel sorry for her. But she has at least 100 million. I just don't get why she doesn't retire. Gaga, Miley, Katy, Beyonce all seem to LOVE what they're doing. Britney is just a puppet on a string.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||10/04/2013|
She isn't harmless. She ruined the industry.
|by Anonymous||reply 166||10/04/2013|
She saved the industry. She brought pop back to us. Britney and Max Martin, the genius who created her.
|by Anonymous||reply 167||10/04/2013|
I'm pretty sure her management is expecting Miley to be the big ca$h cow so they told Britney "Look, we set up this great Vegas gig for you...we're doing a good job. Be happy." This way, they don't have to tend to her and she has something to do with her time while the managers try to milk Miley for all she's worth.

|by Anonymous||reply 170||10/04/2013|
I can't imagine why anybody would spend good money to go to Vegas just to see her lipsync her way through her act.
But I never understood how people could go see her do the same thing at her concerts either.
