Should Meryl play Hillary?

Yes, I know Diane Lane is playing her in a TV movie. But someone needs to bring her life to the big screen, and who else to play the Grande Dame of US politics but the Grande Dame of US cinema?

They are within 20 months of the same age, so it all fits perfectly!

It would be Meryl's sixth Oscar for sure!

No.

Their being around the same age would actually be a problem. Meryl is already far too old to play First Lady-era Hilary, not to mention Arkansas-era.

I think Kate Nelligan would have been perfect.

young Hillary has to be Saoirsa Ronan. She even looks like her.

Patty Duke

In "The Manchurion Candidate," Meryl based her portrayal of the mother, Eleanor Shaw, on Hillary.

Edie Falco, for the win.

I was going to say that R7.

R7 Also read that the Clintons were not too thrilled about it.

Hasn't the Diane Lane NBC TV movie been axed because the GOP whined about it? Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd were also against it airing.

She already did...watch "The Manchurian Candidate" re-make.

Oh, please. She hasn't even won 4 yet, and she's unlikely to do so.
