The most 80s ad ever? Plymouth Duster

Almost runs like an 80s parody now.

That's Finola Hughes.

by Anonymousreply 2109/22/2013

Yes and tacky as hell.

The 80s have NOT improved with age.

by Anonymousreply 109/21/2013

I like the comment that it looks as though it was filmed inside a cocaine factory.

by Anonymousreply 209/21/2013

Where's the beef?

by Anonymousreply 309/21/2013

Horrible commercial for a horrible car. I wonder if she was embarrassed pushing junk?

by Anonymousreply 409/21/2013

The polaroid camera was the icing on the cake.

by Anonymousreply 509/21/2013

R4, it was work.

by Anonymousreply 609/21/2013

It'a amazing how little of the CAR you see.

by Anonymousreply 709/21/2013

Who?

by Anonymousreply 809/21/2013

That's one big stick.

by Anonymousreply 909/21/2013

It was a crappy car. It's the one thing Chrysler is consistent at - shitty cars.

Exactly what I thought when I was watching. There's not one full length shot of the thing. I was curious because a college boyfriend drove a '70s Duster. Had no idea it was produced into the '80s. The name is all wrong for the '80s. And the car, too.

by Anonymousreply 1109/21/2013

I had a 73 Duster, and the car wasn't the greatest, but that Chrysler slant 6 engine was en engineering marvel.

by Anonymousreply 1209/21/2013

That could have passed off as a Robin Sparkles (I think that was her 80's pop name) parody on How I Met Your Mother.

There was a lot of bad '80s stuff out there that has not aged well, but some of it was just cheesy fun. Pop music could use a little more fun.

Always loved Finola Hughes. Was this before The Saturday Night Fever sequel she was in? Quite a dancer!

And honestly, I think the 80's are pretty awesome!

by Anonymousreply 1409/21/2013

R14, this ad came out over a year after "Staying Alive."

by Anonymousreply 1509/21/2013

Is that really Finola Hughes? I wouldn't have recognized her. But the only things I'm aware of her acting in are "Staying Alive" and "General Hospital" so I can see where she might need the work.

by Anonymousreply 1609/22/2013

Mom!

Really?

by Anonymousreply 1709/22/2013

Wasn't she on Silver Spoons or some other 80's sitcom for a while?

by Anonymousreply 1809/22/2013

She was on Blossom at the end as the Dad's new wife. She had a young daughter who was brought into to be the new cute kid. Sad that I know that...

by Anonymousreply 1909/22/2013

I'm pretty sure that's Hughes. The way she bends and looks through her legs is something only a dancer could do.

by Anonymousreply 2009/22/2013

Don't cry, Finola, you'll streak your yellow face paint.
