What would Datalounge be like if it were only for the under 45 set?

Inspired by this comment on the "Martin O'Malley as a 27-year-old groom" thread:

[quote]Who??! There should be an age limit on DL. 45 should be the cutoff age for posting here.

by Anonymousreply 3908/27/2013

[quote]...on DL. 45 should be the cutoff age for posting...

DL's not dull and witless enough already?

by Anonymousreply 108/26/2013

by Anonymousreply 208/26/2013

If the cut off age for posting was 45, I would understand none of the posts on the DL.

I don't understand most posts by those under 45 already. `

by Anonymousreply 308/26/2013

Well, there'd be no Helen Lawson threads.

by Anonymousreply 408/26/2013

Not so boring.

by Anonymousreply 508/26/2013

Is Wingdings going to become the default font?

by Anonymousreply 608/26/2013

Yeah, DL should have its own Carrousel!

by Anonymousreply 708/26/2013

Content free

by Anonymousreply 808/26/2013

A lot more spelling and grammar errors.

by Anonymousreply 908/26/2013

It would be like the comments section for or

by Anonymousreply 1008/26/2013

R8, honey I remember you called me a deranged nut job! Thank god for troller honey, cause here I am...and YOU are the crazy bitch, not me!!!

by Anonymousreply 1108/26/2013

Oh, and if it were under 45 everyone here would be incredibly vain and selfish pigs!

by Anonymousreply 1208/26/2013

Tt already exists op. It is called TMZ.Com.

by Anonymousreply 1308/26/2013

"Oh my, yes, this place used to be just filled with queer fellows, those gay boys. Thank heavens they left. It's so much nicer talking about crafts and bus trips and church socials."

by Anonymousreply 1408/26/2013

It's already like that in all of the threads about Lady Gaga.

by Anonymousreply 1508/26/2013

R14, is a religion hating mongrel! I'm telling on you!

by Anonymousreply 1608/26/2013

Young people need elders, otherwise they have no context for things they think they created in some sort of vacuum, like, oh, skinny jeans, which are just peg leg jeans that many punks wore in the 80's.

Also, there is very little new music these days that can compare to: The Velvet Underground, Bowie, The Stooges, Blondie, Television, Patti Smith, Talking Heads, Duran Duran, Devo, Gary Neumann, Kraftwerk, Parliament Funkadelic, Prince, Marvin Gaye, Jimmy Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Bikini Kill, Nirvana, The Slits, The Raincoats, X Ray Specs, Joan Jett, The Clash, Sonic Youth, Beastie Boys, Bad Brains, Run DMC, The Who, The Jam, Paul Weller, Style Council, and yes, U2 to name a few, except maybe Daft Punk and few others and they've been out for a while, and each and every one of those bands contain people either closing in on 45 or well over, and each and every one of them is cooler than any skinny jeaned hipster any day of the week, so suck it.

by Anonymousreply 1708/26/2013

r17, I'd add Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder to that list. One of Daft Punk's songs on their new album is a tribute to Moroder, featuring Moroder himself.

Under the thumb of Sharia law.

by Anonymousreply 2008/26/2013

by Anonymousreply 2108/26/2013

Oh Christ. It would be like a Nasty Pig / Banana Republic salesbottom convention.

by Anonymousreply 2208/26/2013

R22 wins the Datalounge.

by Anonymousreply 2308/26/2013

It'd be full of people showing fake IDs, each with a current photo that backs up their claim that they look 20 years younger than they are.

by Anonymousreply 2408/26/2013

I'm in my thirties and I've always looked up to people who experienced the world as it was before the 80's; they witnessed a time when there were still truly great movies, music and books. Life may be more comfortable now, but there's hardly any real beauty to be found anywhere. The only thing that seems to progress is technology. Also, everytime I look at footage from that era it strikes me how adult even those in their early twenties come across in their speech and mannerisms, whereas most 20-30 somethings of today seem to be trapped in a stage of perpetual kittenhood: mature men who dress in A&F and call each other 'Bro, and shallow, entitled women who talk with whiny, nasal valley girl voices and act like they're still their daddies' precious snowflake of a princess.

by Anonymousreply 2508/26/2013

R25. speaks the truth.

by Anonymousreply 2608/26/2013

R25 sounds fat. And bitter.

by Anonymousreply 2708/26/2013

[quote]45 should be the cutoff age for posting here.

What an incredibly stupid idea.

by Anonymousreply 2808/26/2013

R25 has proposed a radical idea for adulthood we all should love.

by Anonymousreply 2908/26/2013

Less Bitching

More Whining

A college professor friend has dubbed the last two years' freshman classes as "Generation Crybaby".

by Anonymousreply 3108/26/2013

45 should be the cut off age. No one under 45 should be allowed to post.

by Anonymousreply 3208/27/2013

This site would die without old cunty queens bitching about theater, decor and movie stars.

Every decade you see a shift in culture and tastes with the newer and younger posters, and that applies to any blog or message board.

For those complaining about how this board is full of fraus or freepers, consider what is posted above, because it explains the changes. You can't expect the same generation after generation.

by Anonymousreply 3308/27/2013

R31, as long as they're the most pro-gay generation, they can cry all they want.

by Anonymousreply 3408/27/2013

They don't want to do the pussy with us because we're old, our skin is sagging, our anuses are loose, we wear false teeth...

It's about beauty, star worship, self-serving, selfishness, narcissim, ME, ME ME!

by Anonymousreply 3508/27/2013

Would anyone under 45 actually use the term "45 set?"

by Anonymousreply 3608/27/2013

A lot of the racism would probably vanish. So would some of the more prudish moral policing that happens here.

by Anonymousreply 3708/27/2013

the young girly-girleenas are the big prudes, sonny

by Anonymousreply 3808/27/2013

You're kidding R37? The 18-45 are some of the most prudish here.
