A very shocking thing that I found about jail rape

YOU know the trend where guys like to wear their pants down really low. Well, I just found out today that the root of this fashion came from jail rape.

In jail, there is a hierarchy. The lowest members of the hierarchy are used as fuck sticks, basically designated pass-around bottoms that anyone above them can assault at any time, and to make these individuals visible, they were forced to wear their pants down to show their bottoms.

When these people came out of jail, the habit stuck and people started imitating them. And that's how the fashion came to be.

Everyone already knows this.

by Anonymousreply 108/01/2013

Now, isn't that special!

by Anonymousreply 208/01/2013

OP have you been living under a rock for the past two decades?

by Anonymousreply 308/01/2013

they are called punks.

by Anonymousreply 408/01/2013

I told all the "thugs" I saw, and they immediately pulled them up and began speaking with british accents and perfect grammar.

R6 is not nearly as smart as she thinks she is.

by Anonymousreply 708/01/2013

The pants in jail have elastic waist bands, R6.

by Anonymousreply 808/01/2013

R6 = an ignorant kid who just realized he had been advertising himself as a punk bottom boy because he was blindly following some fashion trend set by other uneducated people who look and act stupid and that educated and affluent people have been laughing at them behind their backs this whole time and is now trying to spin it into soemthing its not.

sorry, prison bottom. Guess there was some unconscious reason you were drawn to that look.

by Anonymousreply 908/01/2013

Oh and even more shocking, OP- it's not even true.

by Anonymousreply 1008/01/2013

I respectfully disagree.

The low-hanging pants trend started in the late-eighties when the 'heroin-chic' look took off. Most junkies lose a lot of weight and are unkempt, so they are always wearing oversized, dirty clothes.

Kids thought the drug culture was cool, and copied the style.

by Anonymousreply 1108/01/2013

Who the fuck wants to look like a dirty junkie? R6 is the one that is right.

Do you have to apply for this position?

by Anonymousreply 1308/01/2013

Actually r7 she is, at least on this topic.

by Anonymousreply 1408/01/2013

Perhaps even more damning is the fact that R6 is boring.

by Anonymousreply 1508/01/2013

Read the Snopes links, bozos. R6 is correct.

by Anonymousreply 1608/01/2013

Please, OP, if you get any more shocking e-mails, be sure to start a new thread about them. I'm certain DL counts for one of the twenty forwards you must do to watch something AMAZING happen.

Good work, Sherman. Once again this installment of the Wayback Machine has been informative and accurate.

by Anonymousreply 1808/01/2013

LOL r5!

by Anonymousreply 1908/01/2013

When I hear "fuck stick" I don't think of a bottom.

by Anonymousreply 2008/01/2013

R6 for the win! Morons with your sick prison rape fantasies.

by Anonymousreply 2108/01/2013

Who cares where it originated, just as long as they keep dressing that way. Anything to give me a cheap thrill.

by Anonymousreply 2208/01/2013

I'd like to see this info in mainstream media and the reaction from circles where low pants still are a trend.

by Anonymousreply 2308/01/2013

I am SHOCKED, I tell you: SHOCKED!

by Anonymousreply 2408/01/2013

"The low-hanging pants trend started in the late-eighties when the 'heroin-chic' look took off. Most junkies lose a lot of weight and are unkempt, so they are always wearing oversized, dirty clothes."

You couldn't be more wrong. Young black lower-income men are/were not susceptible to high-end fashion trends from glossy magazines aimed at white women.

And the heroin chic look you reference never favored "baggy" anything. it was all emaciated bitches in tight child-size clothing.

Additionally that trend didn't come into vogue until close to the mid-90s.

My boyfriend told me this a few years ago & I didn't believe him.

If he has strategically placed a Afro pick in his right pocket, it means he wants his salad tossed.
