Why is this story so scary?

It is by far the scariest story I've ever encountered. I keep wondering what happened to them and why did the blood vanish in the middle of the room.

Is this a true story? I just saw "The Conjuring" last week. There is no way I would go into an abandoned house-even during the day!

The story has been the basis of cheesy horror movies. Not real.

by Anonymousreply 307/29/2013

Actually "The Conjuring" was based on a true story. The Warrens who are featured in the film have a lifetime of cases where they braved frightening paranormal forces of darkness. Lorraine Warren is still bravely carrying on her work even though her husband Ed has passed away.

Actually "The Amityville Horror" is another of their cases. The miniseries and Stephen King novel, "Red Rosé" is based on the real-life haunted Winchester mansion in San Francisco.

I know it's scary to think about R3, but many horror movies are indeed based on real-life events.

Bump for spooky story. Boo!

by Anonymousreply 507/29/2013

umm's not scary

by Anonymousreply 607/30/2013

Did you watch the YouTube video at the clip? It was computer generated, but I had the impression it was based on a true story. That certainly would be scary. I saw a clip for another video that was posted on one of the "mystery" threads on here. I'm too afraid to watch it. I'm not a wimp or anything, just afraid of ghosts and still recovering from "The Conjuring."

I was going to ask my partner to watch it, but I was afraid it might invite evil spirits into our home. If I told you where it was would you watch it and tell me what happens in it. It's on YouTube.

I love Roger Octopus's naive troll act.

by Anonymousreply 807/30/2013

I'm no troll. The YouTube video I am talking about is at R239 at the thread titled: "Lets Post Our Favorite Stories Of The Unexplained." I just bumped the thread. If you go to that post you will see exactly what I'm talking about. It looks like a horribly disfigured ghost in a graveyard at night.

I guarantee you will find the image so frightening and disturbing you will not want to play the video. So far I haven't been able to press play. I also can't get that image out of my head.

Go and see it. You will see I am no troll and I am not putting on an act. I swear to G-d. It is terrifying!

I finally got my courage up R8 and watched the YouTube clip I was talking about. It turns out it was a dumb sex joke. Not scary after all. And I let just thinking about it give me nightmares! I guess the joke is on me!

This is probably the most deeply frightening segment of film footage I have EVER watched - do NOT watch if you have weak nerves.

Can you give us an idea of what's in the video R11. I'm still recovering from seeing "The Conjuring." Paranormal/ghost type things fascinate me, but they are the one thing that I am absolutely terrified of.

by Anonymousreply 1207/30/2013

A friendly word of advice, Roger Octopus: don't EVER click on that link if you want to sleep again (and for your own peace of mind don't even ask, the mere idea of it is disturbing enough). Don't be fooled by the inevitable jokers (a DL tradition) who will insist it's either a funny link or porn. Better live in ignorance than in fear.

by Anonymousreply 1307/30/2013

Wow, thanks R13. I'll take your advice and skip it. It doesn't sound like the sort of think I need to see. I'm probably better off not knowing what it is about. "The Conjuring" was disturbing enough. Thanks for the warning.

by Anonymousreply 1407/30/2013

Goddamn, Roger, could you pimp "the Conjuring" just a little bit more?

by Anonymousreply 1507/30/2013

Sorry. I guess it's the sort of movie that sticks with you. Did you happen to watch the video R11 posted? I think it's too much for me.
