Zac Efron & Ryan Gosling In Talks for 'Star Wars': Report

Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling are reportedly in talks to join the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, according to Latino Review.

The film did not make an appearance at this year’s Comic-Con, but it is expected to be featured heavily at Disney’s D23 Expo next month, where some casting may be announced.

Ryan reportedly was seen for the role of Luke Skywalker’s son while it is not clear what role Zac is in talks to play.

Episode 7 is supposedly going to take place thirty years after Return of the Jedi.

Zac freaking Efron? really?

by Anonymousreply 107/24/2013

Zac Efron could do perfectly fine in the right blockbuster role.

The son of Han Solo and Princess Leia?

by Anonymousreply 307/24/2013

Actually, Zac Efron looks a lot like the young Mark Hammill, not that they'd let him have a major role like Luke's son.

by Anonymousreply 407/24/2013

r4 just spoiled the entire new Star Wars trilogy.

by Anonymousreply 507/24/2013

I always look to Latino Review for exclusive movie news!

by Anonymousreply 607/24/2013

I'd take frikking Jar Jar Binks being the new movies over Zac Efron being on one of them.

There is no way that can really happen, is there?

by Anonymousreply 707/24/2013

Actually Latino Review does get scoops. They broke some things re the Batman films and MOS. The guy/s who run the site are big comic film geeks, they have sources.

by Anonymousreply 807/24/2013

Star Wars calls for hammy scenery chewers. Brits having a lark or American cheeseballs. To wit: Mark Hamill was great in the films, Actress with a capital A Natalie Portman stunk to high heaven.

Hell, I'd be more worried about Gosling than Efron.

by Anonymousreply 907/24/2013

Love Gosling's work, but he is not who I would have expected to be attached to this.

by Anonymousreply 1007/24/2013

Yeah r6 has no idea what he/she's talking about, LR is a huge go-to site for superhero movie news.

by Anonymousreply 1107/24/2013

Why can't they cast a bunch of nobodies WHO CAN ACT AND HAVE CHEMISTRY?

It's not like "Star Wars" needs a name to pull an audience.

The stars of the orignal were on nobody's radar when they were cast.

by Anonymousreply 1207/24/2013

Since Zack looks like a Star Wars action figure, I think he'll do just fine.

Especially in the crotch.

by Anonymousreply 1407/24/2013

There are no more movie stars. Only vapid, plastic dolls with the personalities of particle board.

by Anonymousreply 1507/24/2013

I'd blame George Lucas for the horrible performances in "episodes" 1-3.

Ryan Gosling knows how to deliver in a good popcorn pic.

by Anonymousreply 1607/24/2013

In related news, Gabourey Sidibe is in talks to play Jabba the Hutt's daughter, Jabbette.

by Anonymousreply 1707/24/2013

Agree about Lucas being the driving force behind the bad acting. No one could have salvaged the hold me like you did on Naboo line.

by Anonymousreply 1807/24/2013

I'm fine with Gosling, but Efron is a fucking joke.

by Anonymousreply 1907/24/2013

Zac and Ryan together? Dream come true!

by Anonymousreply 2007/24/2013

Unless they play gay lovers then no thanks.

by Anonymousreply 2107/24/2013

Zac would be a great Ewok

by Anonymousreply 2207/24/2013

I'm sorry but this sounds low rent. Zac Efron has no demonstrated acting skills and Ryan Gosling lost his magic.

by Anonymousreply 2307/24/2013

Ryan Gosling *is* Hung Solo.

MTV is reporting this.

by Anonymousreply 2607/24/2013

Ok it's official, there's a casting couch for young men in Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 2707/24/2013

I can just imagine the fine acting that Zac Efron will bring to such sophisticated dialoge.

by Anonymousreply 2807/24/2013

I thought they'd be going with unknowns given that Star Wars stands on its own...

by Anonymousreply 2907/24/2013

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz just another stupid movie

by Anonymousreply 3007/25/2013

lol R24!
