Favorite websites you visit daily for the latest news in the gay community.

I have few sites I visit daily. The Huffington Post "Gay Voices' page, the Backlot and Towleroad. What others are good sites you find fun and informative on a daily basis? I would like to add some new ones to my regulars.

Towelroad, although I dont visit it daily. I used to like JoeMyGod, but it takes forever to load and causes my android to crash.

I visit Queerty at times, despite the fact that they need new copy editors. I also use the LGBT section of Google News. I used to visit BuzzFeed LGBT until it became clear that they wanted all gay men to become Log Cabin Republicans.

I can't visit Towleroad after witnessing that weird narcissistic carousel video that he released in the early 2000's. He also has a very shady past. He was once a poet published in respectable venues; I've been told, by several e*dergays in the know, though, that he had to perform 'favors' to get to that level. When he stopped performing those particular favors, he had to find a new way to establish himself in high society - a former bartender at Splash isn't highly valued in the circles he prefers. With new favors, he became the editor of Genre, and when those favors became old news, he struck out on his own with Towleroad.

See the link for a sample of his recent poetry. It's occasionally inspired, but you can see why he created and moved on to Towleroad... There aren't enough uniquely indelible moments in his poetry to sustain a career.

Great dish, R4. His poetry is 'MFA committee standards' at best, so that explains a lot.

I visit a lot including realjock, for a masculine perspective to balance things. Yes I'm a member there.

Gay news: Americablog, Crooks&Liars, MotherJones, and BoingBoing. Three of them don't identify as gay, but have great coverage of gay issues. Reddit gay news links make front page daily.

Gay snark: Wonkette covers the bizarre and Gawker has Rich - meh - and somebody else who might be Hamilton Nolan or not.

As far as Andy, I think he'd be perfect for any tall gay. We pocket gays usually don't pair well. It's perfectly ok if he writes poetry as long as he doesn't make you read it or hear it.

I heard too much poetry in various rehabs - every junkie writes poetry in recovery. You'd never wish a relapse on anyone, but sometimes you think it wouldn't be a bad alternative to folks writing free-verse about a rock.

I quit going to Towleroad because I got tired of all the articles that act like we're supposed to worship certain straight or closeted celebs.

I stopped going to Towleroad after seeing numerous right wing book ads. For a month, I saw going rogue by sarah palin.
