Mia Farrow and Philip Roth!

She tweeted a pic of them watching "SharkNado" together and they're *thisclose*.

She never learns, does she?

Actually, this is old news.

But they've been denying it's more than "close friendship" up until now, r1.

At least Roth chooses age-appropriate partners. I guess it could be worse.

I love how she took a break tweeting about Darfur to watch "SharkNado."

by Great Taste in Menreply 307/12/2013

I love the unforgiving mid-Victorian bullshit spouted by people on DL, as if they have always been pure of heart and upright in love.

I sincerely doubt it; more likely the hypocrisy is emblematic of most who criticize others for not living up to moral standards.

Interesting given the parallels between Allen and Roth and the similar turf they covered artistically, Allen in his films and Roth in his novels. It's also said that the character Allen played in his film "Deconstructing Harry" was a thinly veiled version of Roth.

1996 NYT review of Claire Bloom's memoir @ link.

[quote]Next month, Little, Brown & Company will publish a scathing memoir by Mr. Roth's former wife, the actress Claire Bloom. The book, called 'Leaving a Doll's House,' paints the author as a self-centered misogynist and tells a bitter if one-sided story of a love gone sour.

Mia will never, unfortunately, escape the shadow of John Farrow.

by Great Taste in Menreply 1307/12/2013

A pox upon them both.

by Great Taste in Menreply 1407/12/2013
