Sharknado! on Syfy

I'd almost re-acquire expanded basic for this.

If you watch it, please write a review here.

Bump! Wasn't Cousin Oliver in this?

by Dellareply 107/12/2013

I recorded it - I'll let you know.

by Dellareply 207/12/2013

When is it on again? Syfy usually premiered their movies on Saturday night not on a Thursday and they don't; have it scheduled again. Of course they rerun every other thing ten times a week.

by Dellareply 307/12/2013

I'm waiting for Fartnado, the sequel.

by Dellareply 407/12/2013

It looked dreadful

by Dellareply 507/12/2013

[quote]It looked dreadful

I believe that is the whole point

by Dellareply 607/12/2013

I meant dreadful as in stupid

by Dellareply 707/12/2013

Aaah, thanks for clarifying! I thought you meant dreadful as in really intelligent and well done

Some sample dialogue:

"We're gonna stop watching sharks rain down on us. We're gonna take the copter up and drop bombs on those sharks."

Girl: "They took my grandfather (sniff). That's why I really hate sharks." Boy: "Now I really hate sharks too."

I mean, really. How can you not watch this??

by Dellareply 907/12/2013

Why would the sharks eat humans upon raining down after they have been in a tornado? Wouldn't they be so traumatized they wouldn't be able to do anything?

Also, sharks can't breathe air.

r10, the writers for SyFy Channel movies seem to have gotten all their scientific knowledge from watching Star Trek reruns. And that's the ones trying to play it fairly straight, this movie is deliberately stupid.

by Dellareply 1107/12/2013

Syfy just announced showing again Thursday July 18th

by Dellareply 1207/12/2013

There are so many really great shows on television these days, I find it discouraging that so many people have the time to waste on deliberate trash TV like this.

Really, the 30-second clips that I'll see on "The Soup" will be plenty for me!

by Dellareply 1307/12/2013

Tara Reid is in it!

by Dellareply 1407/12/2013

R10, that's what I mean, talk about stupid, why not just have flying spaghetti monsters terrorize everything, it makes just as much sense.

by Dellareply 1507/12/2013

Aww, c'mon, r13. I watch PBS all of the time.

Still, there are moments when I'm in the mood for schlock, and from what I've read about "Sharknado" is that it's great.

"Sharknado" in 5 animated gifs (Here be spoilers):

by Dellareply 1707/12/2013

Best trailer ever!

Kudos to all involved. I thought that campy schlockfest movie making went away in the 80's.

Sharknado has resurrected the genre!

by Dellareply 1807/12/2013

The best thing about it was the industry people tweeting on it.

Lindelhof's was kind of hipstadouchey, but funny.

Coming soon to a theater near you!

by Dellareply 2107/26/2013

Syfy is trying to keep the magic going. Tonight (11/23/13) they present "Stonado", wherein a tornado whips up a frenzy of stones falling from the sky.

by Dellareply 2211/23/2013

Yeah, that's such a pale imitation, R22, I can't even ...

I'd rather see Sharkicane!
