Lucille Ball, Betty White and Estelle Getty on this week's Super Password

Playing for charity, and a lot of fun.

Good chance to see a really old Lucy as herself. Her first time on the show, but she plays well. Estelle's first time, too, and she's a little nervous.

Betty is a professional, as always.

Enjoy!

Ann Dusenberry (from Life with Lucy) is the fourth, but I don't know her.

by Password Trollreply 107/11/2013

Worth catching!

by Password Trollreply 207/12/2013

Episode 2 at 11am today (eastern) on GSN.

by Password Trollreply 307/12/2013

Anyone know when Lucy will be on quiz show again? GSN site not helpful.

by Password Trollreply 407/13/2013

Didn't Lucille Ball and Estelle Getty die already? How can they be on the show?

by Password Trollreply 507/13/2013

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be the concluding episodes of this week's Super Password. (they do five shows.) Then Thursday will be new celebs.

by Password Trollreply 607/13/2013

R5, the shows are from 1986.

by Password Trollreply 707/13/2013

.

by Password Trollreply 807/13/2013

why didn't Lucille give clues? And who is Lucille's partner?

by Password Trollreply 907/13/2013

(whispered voice) The password is OLD.

by Password Trollreply 1007/13/2013

That's wundaful!

by Password Trollreply 1107/13/2013

Did Lucy had a drink and a cigarette going under the cubicle?

by Password Trollreply 1207/13/2013

God, Super Password sucked.

by Password Trollreply 1307/13/2013

I shaid the clue for the pashword waszh sheltzhzer. Can't you undershtand Englishsh?

by Password Trollreply 1407/13/2013

the password is....Jackass

by Password Trollreply 1507/13/2013

Bert Convy's Jew-fro was well-controlled in that episode.

by Password Trollreply 1607/13/2013

Lucy wouldn't even look at poor Ann Dusenberry! This episode is probably what ran her out of Hollywood. She was so good as Tina the beauty pageant winner in Jaws II whose boyfriend gets eaten by the shark, and of course who could forget her turn as Meg in the Susan Dey/Eve Plumb television version of Little Women.

by Password Trollreply 1707/13/2013

Lucille was 11 years older than Betty but looks decades older.

And Bert convy was Irish, not Jewish, r16.

by Password Trollreply 1807/15/2013

Lucy learned that Desi died on that day of filming the whole week of shows of Super Password.

The password is WAAAAHHHH!

by Password Trollreply 2007/17/2013

She may have been a champ at baccarat but wasn't so hot at Password.

by Password Trollreply 2107/17/2013

Lucy was a strong Password player in her younger years. Viv, not so much....

by Password Trollreply 2207/17/2013

Bad players are painful to watch.

by Password Trollreply 2307/18/2013

[quote]She may have been a champ at baccarat

Do you mean backgammon?

by Password Trollreply 2407/18/2013

You're right!

by Password Trollreply 2507/18/2013

As the host, Bert Convy was notorious for blurting out not only the Password in play, but Passwords that were coming up and the answer to the Super Password puzzle itself. Patty Duke was a frequent guest who was prone to goofy breakdowns of her own. Once after Bert spoiled yet another game in progress, Patty bluntly asked him why he couldn't just shut up.

by Password Trollreply 2607/18/2013

Lucille Ball was terrible on these shows. She constantly looked bored, playing with her jewelry, looking down, looking away and at times, seemed totally uninterested in what was going on. She seemed to be in a world of her own. Of course, she looked down on everyone. What a total b*t*h in her later life.

Bert Convey always looked lost. A nice guy but totally dumb.

Did this stuff make it on the air, r26, or was it cut out?

No kidding. I can't believe some of you are so obsessed with that shrill, one-note hag.

by Password Trollreply 3002/17/2014

looks like Lucy got a pass on the time limit for responses

by Password Trollreply 3109/11/2014

r28

Convy (Convey, Conway, Conaway) is an Irish name. Bert's mother was a Whalen, so he was Irish on both sides.

by Password Trollreply 3209/11/2014

This was on today on GSN. Estelle was nervous but actually played quite well. Lucy wasn't that bad a player but she looked like she would rather be anywhere else, what was the point?

R32 I refuse to believe Bert Convy wasn't Jewish.

by Password Trollreply 3309/11/2014

Clearly Convey had a Jewfro whether or not his racial background was Jewish

[quote]Patty bluntly asked him why he couldn't just shut up.

What do you expect from a psychotic?

by Password Trollreply 3409/11/2014

Bert Convy died of AIDS. It was "officially" a brain tumor to cover up his homosexuality. But it was right at the height of the AIDS epidemic.

by Password Trollreply 3509/11/2014

R35 ha you sound like my mom - she always assumed any celebrity who died somewhat young and around a certain time must have had AIDS. Sometimes people do get sick and die young.

by Password Trollreply 3609/11/2014

Sometimes...But mostly they have AIDS and cover it up.

by Password Trollreply 3709/11/2014

Did Estelle have to read off of cue cards?

by Password Trollreply 3909/11/2014

Bert Convy was married to Elaine Boosler

by Password Trollreply 4009/11/2014

r40

Bert Convy was NOT married to Elayne Boosler.

by Password Trollreply 4109/11/2014

If these shows are from 1986, then Lucy only had three more years to live (she died in '89.)
