R6, do you know of a song that has the word "Tennessee" in it, but is not the song by Arrested Development? It sounds like someone who's listened to at least a little Ryan Adams.

lately been rediscovering old maddona tunes i hadn't been listening to for years, and really enjoying it. been focusing on the songs that were a few levels below the monster hits. songs like spotlight, where's the party, true blue, gambler, the look of love, etc.

More details, r7? Ryan Adams has a song called "Tennessee Sucks". Lucero (saw em last month) have a song named "Texas and Tennessee" that could be Ryan-esque.

by Anonymousreply 1206/26/2013

R7: Son Volt - 'Too Early' ? -- though that doesn't seem to fit what you describe

by Anonymousreply 1306/26/2013

No, that's not it, either, R7. But I am really enjoying this Son Volt album.

by Anonymousreply 1406/26/2013

R12, slow. Not completely acoustic, but not rock and roll, either.
