Poll: Anthony Weiner Leads Democrats in Race for NYC Mayor
Poor "Bloomie Bootlicker" Christine!
Mr. Weiner carries his lead across racial, gender and geographic lines. He is beating Ms. Quinn among male Democrats, 29% to 19%, and just slightly among female Democrats, 22% to 21%. Manhattan, where both candidates live, is the only borough where Ms. Quinn maintains a lead over Mr. Weiner, 27% to 23%. And Mr. Weiner defeats Ms. Quinn among blacks (26% to 19%), Latinos (23% to 16%) and Asians (43% to 19%), while Ms. Quinn wins among white voters, 25% to 19%.

What's not to love about a man named Weiner?
|by Anonymous||reply 1||06/25/2013|
Honestly given the choice between Weiner and Quinn I'd probably rather have Weiner.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||06/25/2013|
He keeps inviting me to events, and I haven't lived in NY in years. I have no idea how I got on his mailing list.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||06/25/2013|
He shouldn't get too cocky about this lead less it be neutered.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||06/25/2013|
I already plan to vote fr Weiner. I would never vote for Bloomies whore.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||06/25/2013|
He wants to give people on SNAP extra money that can ONLY be used for produce. For that alone I'm voting for him. He's not trying to be a food Nazi and tell them what they can't buy with what they already get like in beggars can't be choosers. But he will help them to learn to eat healthier and give them the means to do it. I fucking love that! What he does with his dick is his and his family's business, not mine.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||06/25/2013|
I've always liked him, I just think it's a bit too soon for him to come back. The sex didn't bother me, it's the stupidity and no-sex-weirdness.
I'd be happy to be wrong. He'd be a good mayor for NYC.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||06/25/2013|
R6, what's SNAP, precious? What's SNAP?
|by Anonymous||reply 8||06/25/2013|
It would help him if he pronounced his name "Whiner" instead of "Weener."
|by Anonymous||reply 9||06/25/2013|
That is a great plan R6. People on SNAP have to make it last as far as they can stretch it. That means they are eating frozen and canned foods and stuff that is heavily processed so it last longer. I dont have a problem paying for other people's food, but I would prefer they eat something healthy if for no other reason so we dont later have to pay to treat their diabetes, high blood pressure and colon cancer.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||06/25/2013|
Again, Weener is just more fun.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||06/25/2013|
Food Stamps dear R6. Are you new to this planet?
|by Anonymous||reply 12||06/25/2013|
R12, I know of food stamps but had never heard of SNAP.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||06/25/2013|
R12 They have not been called Food Stamps since the 1990s. Get with the times old man.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||06/25/2013|
R14, I have no exposure to SNAP.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||06/25/2013|
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), run by New York state.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||06/25/2013|
EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) is not limited to Food Stamps.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||06/25/2013|
I'm voting for de Blasio.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||06/25/2013|
Should be good for the Fox News and freeper hypcrites should Anthony Weiner get elected the next mayor of New York, New York.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||06/26/2013|
Aside from his indiscretions, is Weiner qualified to be Mayor of NYC?
|by Anonymous||reply 21||06/26/2013|
This ONLY opens the door for a Newt Gingrich for President comeback. And yes I think that Weiner is going to win in NYC.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||06/26/2013|
Gimme a break r22. Did you forget about Mark Sanford and David Vitter? If that didn't open the door for Newt, nothing will. If Jesus came back and endorsed Newt, he wouldn't win.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||06/26/2013|
He actually holds consistent liberal views, and votes for them. She does not.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||06/26/2013|
Boy I'd hate to be on Quinn's staff right now.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||06/26/2013|
I wonder what her wife thinks of all this.
Are all of candidates marching at Pride? I got an e-mail from the de Blasio campaign asking me if I wanted to volunteer to collect signatures.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||06/26/2013|
I'm sure all the Democratic candidates will be there. Maybe Carrion (the independent) will be there too, but I'm not sure if any Republicans will march.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||06/26/2013|
He was an asshole for being an asshole with the pictures and he realizes it, but he is the most qualified to represent the middle and lower classes of the city. I do believe he will fight for more help for the people who need it as opposed to fat Quinn who is in bed with the real estate whores. I mean what politician would vote to close down a hospital in favor of building condos? Yeah most of them unfortunately. But I think Weiner is the man.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||06/26/2013|
Neither is my choice. I'd much prefer just about any of the other Democrats running.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||06/26/2013|
R29. Does that include John Liu? Someone has to explain to me why he's even in consideration for the position since so many of his team seem to have shady connections? I suppose it IS politics, but it somehow doesn't make any sense to me.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||06/26/2013|
Since New York is increasingly irrelevant, I'm kind of indifferent to this. However, I would love to hear more about Weiner's bisexual liaisons. An excerpt from Radar:
“I’m not really talking about other chicks… How about with another guy?” Weiner asked Nobles.
“Hmmmm, haven’t done it before,” Nobles said.
“It can be hot,” Weiner replies.
“Are you turned on by other guys?” Nobles asked.
“Well it depends on the guy, but generally yes,” Weiner divulges.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||06/26/2013|
How fitting that a disgraced politician should lead a city that is a sinkhole of corruption.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||06/26/2013|
I'm not surprised by many things, but this surprised me.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||06/26/2013|
This seems rigged somehow? Who is funding his campaign? He just might be the ugliest U.S. politician of all time.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||06/26/2013|
Who is funding his campaign?
He is. He had money left over (quite a bit of it) in his Congressional campaign account after he resigned. And he also qualifies for matching funds.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||06/26/2013|
Really angry at Edie Windsor - she formally endorsed Quinn.
It proves that even civil rights heroes can do assholey things.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||06/26/2013|
This seems rigged somehow
His wife is Hillary Clinton's girlfriend. Of course it's rigged.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||06/26/2013|
Really angry at Edie Windsor - she formally endorsed Quinn.
I'm sorry, I think the massive solid Edie Windsor just did for every single one of us outweighs anything negative she does for the rest of her life.
And she damned well better be treated like a conquering hero this weekend, because she is.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||06/26/2013|
Sorry, VOTN. But that's how I feel.
It's disappointing to see a person of real courage and character support a mediocre, corrupt candidate just because she is a lesbian.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||06/26/2013|
Rigged? Live the tin hats on this crew.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||06/27/2013|
R41, publicizing fake poll results is not "too tin-hat" to be believed.
CNN and others pushed Rudy Giuliani hard and heavy as "the early front runner" among Republicans in the 2008 Presidential race.
Giuliani won fewer delegates than Ron Paul. He had to skip Iowa and NH when virtually no one in either state turned out to support him. Clearly he never came close to being the front-runner.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||06/27/2013|
There was a documentary called "The Out List" on HBO last night that had interviews with a bunch of prominent LGBT figures, including Quinn.
If that was my only exposure to her, I probably would be voting for her as well. DL has educated me, and for that, I'm grateful.
Since it seems like we're heading to a Quinn/Weiner runoff right now, I'm not sure what to do except hope that Bill Thompson can edge into second.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||06/28/2013|
VOTN, don't you have to live in NYC to vote for its mayor?
|by Anonymous||reply 44||06/28/2013|
An informative Email I received from an anti-Quinn friend. He was at the Stonewall rally.
"I did see Wiener there. He was told he could not speak. What was especially frustrating for me is that Quinn didn't deserve to be there. When Tony Avella tried to introduce a resolution in the City Council in support of same sex marriage, Quinn blocked him. She joined the marriage fight when it became politically expedient for her. Also, the event took place at Stonewall, and Quinn rubber stamped an NYPD rule curbing free assembly (unless it's her own rally...). Free assembly is what made Stonewall possible in the first place."
|by Anonymous||reply 45||06/28/2013|
VOTN, don't you have to live in NYC to vote for its mayor?
I live in NYC now.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||06/28/2013|
Quinn is going to work the DOMA angle for all of the publicity she can get. And that email about Quinn that R45 is posting is right. She's a hypocrite.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||06/28/2013|
r45, Weiner may not have spoken at the rally, but he stopped and chatted with customers at every bar on Christopher from Seventh Avenue to the Hudson.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||06/29/2013|
God, R6 distracted me with her moronic post----
The fact that a slimeball lifetime politicunt like Oscar Mayer Penis can even be considered for Mayor of NYC makes me sick. I thought Bloomberg was shit, a step up from the NeoCon fucktard Giuliani and to think this asshole even has a chance to be mayor--- it just proves how fucked up and nazi like NYC really is.
I'm so glad I only spend 182 days or less here. At least I don't have to pay taxes for this bullshit.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||06/30/2013|
I saw Quinn and Weiner twice this week at two separate events. Both times Weiner worked the room, shook everyone's hand and stayed late and both times Quinn appeared, spoke, and left.
There's a reason he's gaining traction and she's just all sorts of terrible. In NYC we have housing for poor people with AIDS, it's called HASA, she supported a proposed extension of HASA, called HASA for all and she walked away from it. She didn't support the paid sick leave initiative, she has constantly defended stop and frisk, it's just one thing after another.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||06/30/2013|
Crazy commie lesbian or sociopathic pervert?
Can I take door #3?
Is this the best NYC has?
|by Anonymous||reply 52||06/30/2013|
Are you good looking, r49?
|by Anonymous||reply 53||06/30/2013|
Quinn won't win. She sold out her base and they want no part of her and the boroughs (where Weiner won big last time) will never go for a woman.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||06/30/2013|
But you couldn't pay me to try to run a sociofascisitocommunits city like NYC.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||06/30/2013|
I was surprised to find a Quinn flyer in my door the other day. I'm not sure if they were canvassing the entire neighborhood or if they were just targeting frequent Democratic voters like myself. As of right now, I don't think I'm voting for Quinn but I'm not leaning toward any other particular candidate yet.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||07/01/2013|
R56 I live on the 5th floor of a walk-up and only floors 1-3 of my building were lucky enough to receive Quinn flyers.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||07/01/2013|
The photo of him leading a parade for gay pride, carrying a rainbow flag made me want to hurl. Opportunistic scuzzbucket.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||07/03/2013|
And Christine Quinn is a politician because all the nunnerys were full, r61? No way will I ever vote for her. If she's the Democratic candidate for Mayor I will sit this one out.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||07/03/2013|
Giuliani won fewer delegates than Ron Paul.
Actually, Giuliani won but A SINGLE delegate! Fucking loser.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||07/03/2013|
And he is too shameless and power hungry to pull out even though he kept sexting.
Politicians are evil narcissists (both parties) and I can't wait for the USGOV to disappear and local law to return.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||07/24/2013|
Let's see what happens...I think he can be Christine in the primary.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||07/24/2013|
He doesn't want to BE Christine r66.
He can't keep his wiener in his pants. Never will happen.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||07/24/2013|
beat, should have said beat.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||07/24/2013|
Can someone explain why this is a problem? He sexted a dick pic, who hasn't? Is he married or something?
|by Anonymous||reply 69||07/24/2013|
Weiner is still very popular among NY democrats and stands a good chance of winning. I'm tired of the press thinking they can call the shots and get him to resign. Do the people have any say at all?
Can't stand Quinn and I want the Bloomberg bullshit to end. Vote third party or don't vote at all if she's the candidate.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||07/24/2013|
R69 He's a liberal democrat. End of story.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||07/24/2013|
He looks like he's on heavy HIV meds.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||07/24/2013|
They don't call him Anthony WEINER for nothing.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||07/24/2013|
My union, 1199 SEIU, endorsed Di Blasio. If I voted my conscience, I would vote for someone who makes the interests of working, middle class New Yorkers a priority. No group has been hit harder in New York. It is a wonder any of us can still afford to live here. If I voted based on what would be good for all New Yorkers, I would choose Weiner. But his lack of impulse control and poor judgement, he was making plans to hook up with his latest sexting partner!, means the city would be one dick pic away from a distracting and polarizing scandal at any given time. Not good governing. Thank goodness Huma has Hillary to turn to. Christine Quinn makes me stabby. I just want to punch her in her face. And I don't even know why. I guess I am pissed at Weiner. I think he would make a good Mayor, But, for fucks sake. Can't he just masturbate to on-line porn like a normal person? Talk about a danger whore.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||07/24/2013|
Rumor is that Weiner has already drawn up plans to have a glory hole installed in the mayor's office.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||07/24/2013|
Why not just vote for deBlasio?
|by Anonymous||reply 76||07/24/2013|
Because Weiner is the only one who can beat Christine Quinn. Voting for Di Blasio might make me feel good but it would be a wasted vote and allow Quinn to squeak by Weiner. And I cannot live in New York City with Christine Quinn as Mayor. Drawing up plans to move to Ithaca if that happens. Seriously.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||07/24/2013|
I agree with R77. Quinn is awful and as soon as she takes the tiara from the reigning MIss NYC, she'll start bulldozing everything for her real estate pals.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||07/24/2013|
Enough already with the sexting "scandal".
I can not WAIT to vote for Spitzer and Weiner. Their wives and families have forgiven them. [bold]The End.[/bold]
New Yorkers want a Mayor with [italic] charisma. [/italic] The world views NYC as a republic and consequently the Mayor as an ad hoc world leader. Weiner is a junkyard dog (and I mean that in the best sense of the term) and having Huma as a first lady? NO BRAINER.
FUCK the honking fraus from NOW and the other mayoral candidates "demanding" he leave the race. OF COURSE they want him to pull out (no pun intended) HE'S LEADING!!
Does any New Yorker REALLY want those other bland milquetoasts or doughy ineffectual Christine Quinn in front of the world stage representing [italic] NEW YORK?!?!?! [/italic] Quinn's Mother Theresa bit with the fainting intern for the cameras (which made the front page of the Post)was a bit much. Can you imagine her in a [italic] real [/italic] crisis?!?!?
(any enterprising queen who would sell silkscreen t-shirts emblazoned with "I Want Weiner" would make a MINT.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||07/24/2013|
Since when does Weiner have charisma? LMAO
|by Anonymous||reply 81||07/24/2013|
Oh and union "backing" means shit. the majority hate paying the dues and look at the UFT's endorsement [italic] THAT [/italic] sure backfired.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||07/24/2013|
Weiner's butt ugly and has a small dick
|by Anonymous||reply 83||07/24/2013|
The articles on he, and his wife, make them out to be quite insufferable.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||07/24/2013|
Exactly,r76. I wish we were talking about the other candidates for mayor instead of this guy and Quinn.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||07/24/2013|
No matter who "wins," you New Yorkers are fucked. F.U.C.K. Fucked!!
|by Anonymous||reply 86||07/24/2013|
No wonder you can't wait to vote for Spitzer, r82. Look at the way you are steam rolling over other posters and their right to voice their opinions. And I assume you are not a union member. We are encouraged to vote for the candidate who represents our interests. We are certainly free to exercise free will.Oh, and I stopped reading your post @r80 when I came to "honking frau". I'm just so tired of your particular brand of "pointless bitchery". Yawn.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||07/24/2013|
I'd prefer DeBlasio but he hasn't got a hope in hell of winning.
|by Anonymous||reply 88||07/24/2013|
New York needs a tough mayor. Quinn has more balls than all the other combined. A tough lesbian gets thing done.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||07/24/2013|
All you Weiner people just need to switch from Weiner to deBlasio and deBlasio will win against Quinn.
Simple as pie.
You're complicating things too much with this "I must destroy Quinn by voting for Weiner" bullshit. Quinn has about 25 percent. Diblasio has 10; Weiner has about 22. Add deBlasio to wiener's numbers and deBlasio goes into a runoff with Quinn.
And guess what? DeBlasio is a real live efty.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||07/24/2013|
Gillibrand endorsed Stringer over Spitzer for comptroller. That's all I need to know.
|by Anonymous||reply 91||07/24/2013|
Does no one care that his actions make him out to be a sexual predator and a sociopath with no impulse control? These women didn't ask for these pictures - he has no regard for consent. He preys on and manipulates women with zero power in the discussion. And he continued to do it after he'd been busted, and swore he would stop, which makes him a liar. I don't give a damn either what goes on in his marriage, but this speaks to something else entirely.
|by Anonymous||reply 92||07/24/2013|
A tough lesbian gets thing done.
After a month of processing and giving everyone in their orbit a nervous breakdown.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||07/24/2013|
No one should vote for Deblasio and his "ex-gay" wife.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||07/24/2013|
de Blasio's wife is not an ex-gay, R94--she doesn't believe in "conversion" or "reparative" therapy, which is what that term is associated with. She's a lady who used to be a (somewhat radical) lesbian and then got together with a man. Happens--in both directions--all the time. I like de Blasio's politics and that he married a black woman and has biracial kids.
I would take de Blasio or Thompson over Weiner in a second but I would take anyone--including Lhota--over Quinn.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||07/24/2013|
Stick a fork in Weiner's Weiner, he's done!
|by Anonymous||reply 96||07/24/2013|
No he's not. NY seems to be sticking by him.
|by Anonymous||reply 97||07/24/2013|
r95, Gee that sounds like an "ex-gay" to me, stop apoligizing for her.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||07/24/2013|
Did I miss a poll that has come out since the shit hit the fan.
|by Anonymous||reply 99||07/24/2013|
R98, we don't make men who marry women and later come out as gay apologize, so I'm not sure why she should. Is it because she's black? Or a woman? Or both?
|by Anonymous||reply 100||07/24/2013|
No he's not. NY seems to be sticking by him.
|by Anonymous||reply 101||07/24/2013|
I don't believe i asked for her apology, maybe you should read better r100. Im not sure your comparison works, was she a closet straight?
|by Anonymous||reply 102||07/24/2013|
Does no one care that his actions make him out to be a sexual predator and a sociopath with no impulse control?
You think sexting dick pics "makes" him that because you throw around those terms all the time and have absolutely no idea what they mean outside of your relentlessly screeching, ignorant internal monologue.
As a politician, we like him. We don't like you. We think you're batshit crazy and, worse, you're a humorless nag.
|by Anonymous||reply 103||07/24/2013|
This is a poll from a month ago. We'll have to see whether it holds up.
|by Anonymous||reply 104||07/24/2013|
R102, you've still not made clear what your problem is with her. You seem to be criticizing her based on the fact that she used to identify as a lesbian but now doesn't. I don't see how she--let alone her husband--should be dismissed for that. So, to repeat--is your real problem that she's a black woman?
|by Anonymous||reply 105||07/24/2013|
Bob Beckel(Dem on Fox) thinks Weiner no longer has a chance in hell.
New Marist poll will be out tomorrow, so that will be interesting.
|by Anonymous||reply 106||07/24/2013|
The Quinnipiac poll they released today was done over the weekend. I got polled for it.
|by Anonymous||reply 107||07/24/2013|
What were the questions, VotN?
|by Anonymous||reply 108||07/24/2013|
There were dozens of them. It was both Mayor and Comptroller.
Essentially, you were asked how much you were following the race, how much you knew about the candidates (only Thompson, Quinn, and Weiner were really polled, but when I said I was voting for de Blasio in the primary, they had questions about him), who you would vote for in the primary, who you would vote for in three potential runoff scenarios (Weiner/Thompson, Weiner/Quinn, Thompson/Quinn), if there were any candidates you wouldn't vote for under any circumstances. There were also questions about which candidate you thought was best for various issues--Economy, Transportation, Education, Crime--and a question about how where or not Spitzer and Weiner's lapses were a factor in whether or not you supported them.
|by Anonymous||reply 109||07/24/2013|
[R95], Gee that sounds like an "ex-gay" to me, stop apoligizing for her.
I'm not the poster you were addressing, but she sounds nothing like an ex-gay to me. She sounds like a bisexual who thought she was exclusively gay but found out she wasn't. Just like how people who think they're exclusively straight but later choose a same sex partner are bisexuals who thought they were straight.
An ex-gay is a sociopath who renounces homosexuality for religious reasons -- like Anton Dodson.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||07/24/2013|
Does no one care that his actions make him out to be a sexual predator and a sociopath with no impulse control?
The woman said she had a six month relationship with him. You can't be a sexual predator if your "victim" has an ongoing consensual relationship with you.
|by Anonymous||reply 111||07/24/2013|
Perhaps the sociopathy is how he is humiliating his wife and child....again.
His wife is coming off as a tool.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||07/24/2013|
Weiner is so fucking ugly that he's hard to look at.
I'm begging cable news to stop showing all those pictures.
|by Anonymous||reply 115||07/24/2013|
He sexted a dick pic, who hasn't? Is he married or something?
The well-informed American public.
|by Anonymous||reply 118||07/24/2013|
Weiner is the perfect politician for our age ---
Free of morals, driven by the lust for power, unashamed by his actions.
Government is perfect for him!
|by Anonymous||reply 120||07/25/2013|
I only care about who has the biggest penis!
If Weiner is the biggest, then he should win.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||07/25/2013|
R121. Mine's bigger than his.
|by Anonymous||reply 122||07/25/2013|
But no one wants to see yours, Chris.
|by Anonymous||reply 123||07/25/2013|
WSJ/NBC 4 NY Marist poll -
Quinn is now the undisputed front runner; Weiner's unfavorability rating surges to 55%.
Saw this on CNN.... at Weiner's 1st public speech since his "new" scandal, women turned their backs on him. Just like photographers did to George Clooney when he dissed them.
|by Anonymous||reply 124||07/25/2013|
Stick a fork in his small dick. HE'S DONE.
I've heard only 2 media people stick up for his creepy, needy ass..... Andrew Sullivan and Lawrence O'Fool(MSNBC).
|by Anonymous||reply 125||07/25/2013|
While probably not a "media person" per se, Dan Savage was imploring people to vote for him so that sexting would be a non-scandal down the road.
Personally, I don't care about the sexting. I care about the lying, both when he tried to play innocent when this first happened, and then all of the interviews where he claimed that it was behind him, when it clearly wasn't.
|by Anonymous||reply 126||07/25/2013|
These polling numbers are going to lead to another Weiner sexting meltdown. Just wait for IT. Boy can't control himself.
Hell, he blamed Round 2 of his sexting on "troubles" in his marriage. Unbelievable!
|by Anonymous||reply 127||07/25/2013|
BTW - Liu is crook. Should never be allowed to hold ANY public office.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||07/25/2013|
He should not be in the race. He would be better off staying out of politics.
|by Anonymous||reply 130||07/25/2013|
