DALLAS (AP) — Former U.S. Senator and GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum has been named CEO of a company that makes movies meant for a Christian audience.
EchoLight Studios said Monday that Santorum will serve as head of the company. The company's first film is slated for release in the fall, and it has another movie in post-production.
The company says Santorum has spent the past year working with Dallas-based EchoLight.
Santorum says in a statement that Dallas can become the Hollywood of the faith-and-family movie market.

How soon before Kirk Cameron gets in on this act?

Dominionist ties. I'll let confirmed bachelor Nathaniel Darnell tell you about it:

Uh oh, here comes the casting couch. Watch out all you young Dominican boys!

Wonder if any films will address the physical and emotional abuse, or the child sexual abuse and molestation, rampant in Dominion families. Have always read that the more religious and outwardly morally conservative the family, the greater the probability of abuse.

Domestic Discipline Porn!
Wonkette linked to an article on this. Hold on a minute. Don't spank me, Daddy.

Santorum is a Catholic. Isn't that about the same as the Anti-Christ in the Dominionists book?

I just laughed so loud at your thread title, OP.

Frothy Santorum was a frothy mix of snow...

"Santorum is a Catholic. Isn't that about the same as the Anti-Christ in the Dominionists book?"
As you can see in my link at r2, it's already caused problems (though they may try to explain it as mere "political differences") and it will no doubt cause more. Hoping for lots of drama.

R7, Did you read this from what you cited?
"According to Jim Alsdurf, a forensic psychologist who has written a book on abuse in Christian homes, CDD is "an outlet for emotionally disturbed men with intimacy deficits"; it draws in "a more pathological group of people" because it infantillizes women."

The first movie we have coming up is "Gidget Goes To Gomorrah", the story of a young surfer girl who finds herself in modern day Los Angeles, surrounded by filth, perversion and HOMOSEXUALITY. Can our young heroine retain her purity, chasteness and home-spun values while being in a gang of kids which includes YOUNG NUBILE SURFER BOYS who engage in HOMOSEXUAL ACTS? Gidget is played by a young actress by the name of Amanda Bynes. Myself - and the rest of EchoLight - have big plans for her!

R12, LOL. How do you think their movies will compare to the ones put out by LDS in Utah?
Will Hollywood take note? I see "moralistic implications" in The Wolf of Wall Street. All that sinning, and look at the consequences.

When Alex Wagner asked for suggestions for documentaries for him to produce, someone suggested one on Dan Savage.

R12, I don't think Dominionists surf. She would have to be a young, quilter, knitter, or Jane Austin reenactor.
Hmm, I wonder if you could put a Dominionist spin on "Pride, Prejudice, & Zombies."
|by Anonymous||reply 15||06/25/2013|
Well they could re-enact Bible stories. Of course they'd have to really clean them up to get rid of the sexual implications.

Mr. Santorum, when's the soonest we'll be able to see EchoLight adult movies?
|by Anonymous||reply 17||06/25/2013|
Damn, I thought this was a thread about the housing market.

"I don't think Dominionists surf. She would have to be a young, quilter, knitter, or Jane Austin reenactor. "
She could be the rebellious Dominionist daughter who disobeys her father and takes up surfing. Of course at the end of the film, she'd have to renounce the beach and all those immodest swimsuits, and return home to... well, sit around and do nothing, like a proper daughter.

What will Kirk's first role be?
James Tyrone in "Long Night's Journey into the Daylight of Christ's Glow"
Stanley Kowalski in "A Super Jet Named Jesus!"
George in "Who's Afraid of Jesus? Not me!"
Albin in "La Cage Aux Follies" as a drag queen who finds new life in Sondheim.

R21, Please explain your post. Don't tell me "Christians" are into money laundering.

[quote]Mr. Santorum, when's the soonest we'll be able to see EchoLight adult movies?
To help capture the adult audience, we do have an upcoming film project where an unmarried different-sexed couple actually HOLD HANDS on a first date (also known as "getting to third base"). Some hot stuff, let me tell you!
