Sweet Retreats

They show people rental houses for a vacation and the people choose. So far they have had offbeat locations like Marfa, Texas that have some interest. But this week they had the Hamptons and four middle class single women had set aside $80,000 over several years to rent a house so they could participate in the "social scene" and were crestfallen to be told $80,000 wouldn't get them very much. Of course they put a positive spin on the whole experience - they picked a place that was $20,000 more expensive because they didn't have a car, when they could have rented a car for the summer for much less than that - it was just mindblowing that the Hamptons "social scene" would ever be so magical to average working people.

Who are THEY, OP?

Believe it or not Marfa is pretty cool. Down near Big Bend and I found some local wines there that were damn good.

Were they single women looking for rich husbands? If so, a $20,000 investment might be worth it.

Douchebags love the place!

Oh dear..

They will be in for a rude awakening. Since they are neither wealthy, famous or connected by family or friends, they will be ignored by "that scene". Unless, of course, they have model looks and bodies, and are under 25 years old.
