6 cubes once a week! Who knew?
I had no idea you could water house plants with ice cubes.

Do not water tropical plants with ice cubes.
Ice is not found in their native habitats.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||06/19/2013|
Why would you do that, R1? Makes no sense. Why would a plant like freezing cold water?
|by Anonymous||reply 2||06/19/2013|
Don't tell me r2 --- reading for understanding is not your long suit.
I clearly said do not water your plants with ice cubes.

[quote] Why would a plant like freezing cold water?
They dont. Watering plants with very cold water is never a good idea as it could shock the roots. Additionally, there is what, a few tablespoons of water in an ice cube? Plants need more than that.

Sorry. I mis-typed. I meant to say OP, not R1.
R1, you're excused to put on clean underwear since you obviously shit yourself.

6 cubes in each pot, right? No matter what size? Fascinating.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||06/19/2013|
Fine, I removed the ice cubes. I bought the Anthurium at the supermarket and it had instructions attached to that says 'water with 6 ice cubes once a week, the equivalent of 1/2 cup of water. When ice is fully melted drain excess water from pot'.

Oh, so you're a snarky jackass in addition to being an idiot with poor typing skills AND reading comprehension problems, R5.
OK. Check. Got it.

Yes, ice cubes are great to water indoor plants. Orchids especially. It's not freezing when it melts, hello people.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||06/19/2013|
What about a half of popsicle? Would that work too?
|by Anonymous||reply 10||06/19/2013|
Those plants need a good smack on the ass!
|by Anonymous||reply 11||06/19/2013|
LOL@R11, not quite WW, but it made me laugh!
|by Anonymous||reply 12||06/19/2013|
My plants do fine when I get drunk and piss on them. someone said here that piss was sterile.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||06/19/2013|
R9 is correct, especially about Orchids.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||06/19/2013|
"6 cubes once a week!"
Schix cubes a wheek? I schling that many cuuubes at Fern and Ivy hourly, every time I fffreshhen up my duurink.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||06/19/2013|
There are lots of things you CAN do, but not all of them make sense!
|by Anonymous||reply 16||06/19/2013|
Thank you, r16.
Informative link you posted.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||06/20/2013|
Isn't it easier to just water them with...hmm.. WATER? Ice melts and becomes water. I don't understand why you would waste valuable cocktail ingredients on house plants but hey, go right ahead Einstein.

OP, I just found out you can make steaks from cows! We should write a book of obvious household tips.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||06/20/2013|
Ice cubes are a great idea! You can go on vacation and still have your plants watered!
|by Anonymous||reply 20||06/20/2013|
I love how quickly thread devolve into contests for the bitchiest comments...
r20 - exactly how long do you think you can vacation before the ice melts. If you're being ironic, you'll need to learn to write better to convey your meaning.

What you need, R21, is a better sense of humor.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||06/20/2013|
Seek help, R23.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||06/20/2013|
Webmaster, you are forgiven.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||06/20/2013|
I don't get R23's post.
