Can't I just... keep pretending I'm your son?

You ARE my son.

ZOMG, I tear up every time. Every single fucking time, it gets me. I get a lump in my throat and I start to cry. Bravo, Costner. Brava, Cavill. Oscar nomations for all.

by Anonymousreply 2906/15/2013

We did that scene better.

by Anonymousreply 106/11/2013

WTF, R1? They never did that scene. There was no tender loving moment between Darth and Luke.

by Anonymousreply 206/12/2013

Oscar nomations!!! Somehow I doubt it.

by Anonymousreply 306/12/2013

Are you referring to the actual scene in the film which you've seen, or to the trailer? I've only seen the trailer and I also think that exchange is incredibly moving, particually with the Zimmer music behind it, but I get the feeling that the full movie scene will be much less so. Hope I'm wrong, though. That whole trailer is fantastic and poetic.

by Anonymousreply 406/12/2013

Apparently, R2, you never saw "Return of the Jedi."

by Anonymousreply 506/12/2013

Shocked that Martha dies so violently though that sets Clark on his journey.

by Anonymousreply 606/12/2013

What in the world are you people talking about??

by Anonymousreply 706/12/2013

And I have to believe that you were sent here for a reason.

by Anonymousreply 806/12/2013

I assume Man of Steel, R7

by Anonymousreply 906/13/2013

Why was I hoping this was a porn thread?

by Anonymousreply 1006/13/2013

Incredibly moving.

by Anonymousreply 1106/13/2013

Cavill isn't in that scene, OP.

by Anonymousreply 1206/13/2013

Yes, he is. He's the son being referred to. Duh.

by Anonymousreply 1306/13/2013

OP, I realize you are an obnoxious shill but Cavill is not in that scene. It's actor Dylan Sprayberry playing the teenage Clark Kent.

by Anonymousreply 1406/13/2013

I like this idea! Any award a child actor is nominated to win should automatically go to the actor who plays the adult version of the character elsewhere in the film.

by Anonymousreply 1506/13/2013

Please OP give it a rest. We get it, you want us to see this piece of shit.

by Anonymousreply 1706/13/2013

Yes,you can...will you marry me?

by Anonymousreply 1806/13/2013

Incredibly moving. Cavill killed it.

by Anonymousreply 1906/14/2013

Best acting I've ever seen from Cavill.

by Anonymousreply 2006/14/2013

You all have parental issues.

by Anonymousreply 2106/14/2013

r15, you are so right!

by Anonymousreply 2206/14/2013

OP is the Fake Snowden Male Model Troll.

OP hates that Snowden guy but he LOVES Superman!

OP probably beats off thinking of Henry Cavil using Super Powers to eavesdrop on opponents of Barack Obama's Spy on Americans policies.

[quote]Oscar nomations for all.

Fine, but if you actually mean "nominations," you're out of your poorly educated mind.

by Anonymousreply 2406/14/2013

[Best acting I've ever seen from Cavill.]

I'm sure many will say the same as most of us haven't actually seen anything he's been in before this.

by Anonymousreply 2506/14/2013

How could you have not seen The Cold Light of Day, R25?

by Anonymousreply 2606/15/2013

[quote]I like this idea! Any award a child actor is nominated to win should automatically go to the actor who plays the adult version of the character elsewhere in the film.

Well, that is pretty much how Geoffrey Rush got his.

by Anonymousreply 2706/15/2013

I didn't like Heath Ledger in his role as "Joker".

by Anonymousreply 2806/15/2013

r27, Cf. r22
