It's a nice tweet. Then you read the replies and weep for this country...
Barack Obama tweets "Happy Pride Month"

R1, he's already done more than every other President combined. Idiot.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||06/01/2013|
I haven't always been the biggest fan of Obama - he went through a brief period under Rahm's tutelage where he actively spurned LGBT causes - but he's really come around ever since Rahm was sent away to Chicago. I value his support of our community, especially in the face of Republican evil.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||06/01/2013|
R1 deserves nothing.

When is he going to stop holding Bradley Manning illegally? When is the media ever going to acknowledge he lied about the Iraqi war being over like Bush did?
|by Anonymous||reply 6||06/01/2013|
R4, yes he has, moron. Duh.

Has Oprah ever tried to seduce Michelle and bring her into O and Gayle's lez circle?
|by Anonymous||reply 8||06/01/2013|
Understand this, Canada currently has full equality but Canada's current leader, Prime Minister Stephen Harper, does not think gays should have fully equality and has already tried to overturn it in Canadian Parliament.
The current US President, Barack Obama, believes gay people should have fully equality. But many states still refuse to accept this.
I would be more nervous in Canada right now.

House Democrats have also tweeted a celebration of Pride month...
|by Anonymous||reply 10||06/01/2013|
I hope that the President does not read those replies. I rad some and had to stop because the blatant racism and hatred made me nuts. Bush never got this kind of hatred.
The President seems like a decent man. I hope his skin is thick.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||06/01/2013|
R12, the huge difference is that the hatred directed at him was 1) justified, and 2) based on facts and things Bush actually did (and didn't do).
|by Anonymous||reply 13||06/01/2013|
I WANT TO SUCK YOUR DICK
This is, of course, the best response to the President's tweet.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||06/01/2013|
No thanks. I am still upset over reading the comments about the bi-racial couple on the new Cheerios commercial. We haven't progressed as far as I had hoped.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||06/01/2013|
r15 walks by amputee kids and hisses, "little fucker can't even run, what a waste."
|by Anonymous||reply 17||06/01/2013|
R15 you're a moron. Seriously.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||06/01/2013|
R16, well, this isn't just racism. There's a ton of homophobia in those comments too. You know, just to make it even worse.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||06/01/2013|
[quote]Mila Kunis @BarackObama ugly as hell
|by Anonymous||reply 20||06/01/2013|
r16 what biracial couple on what Cheerios commercial?
|by Anonymous||reply 21||06/01/2013|
Over six thousand retweets and three thousand favorites for that tweet...
|by Anonymous||reply 22||06/02/2013|
I didn't see that Mila Kunis tweet at R20, but her entire feed is complete garbage. Nothing but trite gibberish.
...and it's a parody account. Apparently, she doesn't have one.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||06/02/2013|
General Mills is running a Cheerios commercial featuring a mixed race family. It's on Youtube and apparently a lot of comments are appalling. There's some discussion of it here:
|by Anonymous||reply 24||06/02/2013|
R1/4/6 needs to go back to his freeper boards where he can hate Obama as much as he wants in peace.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||06/02/2013|
This is exactly why we need to ram in as much freedoms and progress as we can now before another fuckwad GOP President comes in or they take over the Senate.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||06/02/2013|
So much PUMA mental illness on this thread.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||06/02/2013|
If you actually look at the sheer progress that we've made since 2009 it's staggering. Illinois was a setback, but that's not Obama's fault but more the inept, corrupt politicians in Illinois included that piece of dog shit, Rahm Emmanuel.
Obama has facilitated an atmosphere of tolerance in which more and more state legislatures do feel more comfortable to enact more equality measures and for that alone, he should be praised.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||06/02/2013|
@R20 That can't possibly be her!
|by Anonymous||reply 29||06/02/2013|
So on Twitter, I can be anyone I want to be? Even if someone else already is me?
|by Anonymous||reply 30||06/02/2013|
I'm going to New Orleans Pride (for the first time ever) next week! WOO!
|by Anonymous||reply 31||06/13/2013|
Here's your cookie, gays!
|by Anonymous||reply 32||06/13/2013|
R2 Exactly! People like R1 are so fucking stupid and don't realize that Obama has done more gays than any other president. He's doing his best.
