In Honor of "Behind the Candelabra"

Liberace as Chandell on the Adam West Batman.

Aunt Harriet was a big Chandell fan

And the second half.

Planning my snack for the movie tonight.

Was Scott Thorson's ass of a similar aspect as the Damon Butt?

Leaving aside the fact that he's twenty years too old, which we've already discussed.

by The Voice of the Nightreply 305/26/2013

When will they make a movie about his brother George?

by The Voice of the Nightreply 405/26/2013

I watched that episode about a year ago. Poor, dear Aunt Harriet was bamboozled. Just like so many of the ladies.

by The Voice of the Nightreply 505/26/2013

Aunt Harriet was understandably confused after all those years as Larry Mondello's mother.

That was the fun of the Adam West Batman series.

Besides Liberace, other Special Guest Villains/Villainnesses included Tallulah Bankhead as Black Widow, Ida Lupino as Dr. Cassandra Spellcraft, Joan Collins as Siren, Milton Berle as Louie the Lilac, Princess Zsa Zsa as Minerva, Queen of Diamonds, and Ethel Merman as Lola Lasagne.

They wanted Lucille Ball to have a special appearances as well, but Gary told her not to.

Oh, and Shelley Winters as Ma Parker. In Gotham City, she's a very skinny lady.

Excuuuuuusssssseeeee me. I believe I portrayed the fabulous Marsha, Queen of Diamonds. Not that Hungarian half-wit.

by The Voice of the Nightreply 1105/26/2013

Right you are, 'Tish. That was my mixing up two characters.

by The Voice of the Nightreply 1205/26/2013

That was community theater Scottish accents.

by The Voice of the Nightreply 1305/26/2013

Just finished viewing. Omg, I felt terrible for poor Scott. He was 17 when he first met Liberace. A poor kid looking to belong. The film managed to be quite sympathetic to him.

I know in the years after he was rejected he was arrested for drug use and for other crimes. A sad life.

thread about scott's legal troubles

by The Voice of the Nightreply 1505/26/2013

"He's been assaulted with a ROOT BEER BOTTLE!"

Adam West and Middle America may not have gotten that in 1967 or whatever it was, but the writers were having some fun.
