Intentionally or unintentionally?
Have you ruined somebody's life?
|by Anonymous||reply 60||06/13/2013|
According to my mother, yes.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||05/24/2013|
Heh heh heh.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||05/24/2013|
I did. I got my exboyfriend deported back to Honduras. He had a blossoming career here in the USA until someone denounced him to the state department as a pedophile drug smuggler.

Naughty, naughty, R3.

There's one motherfucker who lives in the same building as I do whose life I'd love to ruin! A homophobic two-time felon with some serious fucked-up anger-management issues. He was in the hospital last week for about five days with some stomach issues....karmic debt is a bitch!

I feel nothing but pity for the sad people who have allowed their envy of me to ruin their pedestrian lives.
Such a shame that they can't make more out of themselves. If they got their own London townhouses with four nannies and a backyard wood-burning pizza oven, they would be so much more at peace with themselves and with me.
I mean, that's what the Goop newsletter is for: it contians all the best advice I can give. What more can I do?
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/25/2013|
gwyneth, sweety, eat something...you are losing your mind, you signed Glenn's name you meant goop not G
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/25/2013|
So sorry for the little typo!
See? I'm only human!
|by Anonymous||reply 11||05/25/2013|
Ms. Streep, it's an honor to be rebuked by you. I remember how fondly my mother always spoke of you.
And may I take this opportunity to express my personal admiration to you for proving that an actress can still have significant success long after youth and beauty are gone.
You are truly an inspiration.
All the best,
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/25/2013|
And may I suggest these chinchilla handwarmers, for a mere ten grand apiece? Stocking stuffers, really.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/25/2013|
To quote my dear friend, Nelson Mandela:
Does a bear shit in the woods?
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/25/2013|
No, but I've tried.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||05/25/2013|
The majority of my grammar school teachers retired as soon as they were done teaching my class. I like to think they 'explored new career options.'
Oh, and I once mentioned that an auditor resembled a hillbilly, gap-toothed Baby Huey and the endearment stuck.
And I may have cut the brake lines in a sibling's car, but it made him more of a four-wheel drive kind of guy...
|by Anonymous||reply 16||05/25/2013|
Other than my own?
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/25/2013|
The quintessential narcissist - sociopath - psychopath would have no knowledge whatsoever if they had ruined someone's life.
They wouldn't care, and wouldn't even think to look back to see if they had.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/25/2013|
What the fuck does that have to do with this topic, R18?
When you were dropped on your head how many times did you bounce, Becky?
|by Anonymous||reply 19||05/25/2013|
And just who the fuck are you, r18?!
The chairman of this thread?
Take a pill.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||05/25/2013|
R19, may I congratulate you on your recent acquisition of DL? And now that you own it, you can tell people what to do with abandon.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||05/25/2013|
Sorry I meant r19.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||05/25/2013|
My mom's, unintentionally. It's the usual: a long story.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||05/25/2013|
Tangentially related: my neighbor applied for a DEA job. She almost has the position but her sister, who sounds like a nasty piece of work, refuses to divulge her Green Card number (which is necessary as part of my neighbor's security clearance review). Is there anything my neighbor can do to get that number? Otherwise, her sister will ruin my neighbor's chances of getting the job.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||05/25/2013|
Yes, I destroyed someone's life, or at least damaged it in a serious and irreparable way. It was a long time ago and it's something I regret.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||05/25/2013|
Your neighbor should just supply her sister's name, birth date, and Social Security number (if known) to the DEA. The DEA can easily access her sister's immigration records with that information.

A girl I was friends with stole my brand new phone - and yeah, I'm convinced it was her considering she was the only person who could do it and she was near tears when I told her I was getting it tracked.
Girl had weed on her in school, I ratted her out. The police took it pretty seriously (must have been a slow day) and it got put on her record. Flash forward a year and all those criminal records checks to get into university to become a midwife? Failed. She's working in a shitty supermarket as a result.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||05/25/2013|
Unintentionally, I put a big dent in my sibling's self esteem by always being better at everything.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||05/25/2013|
The guy who posted about finding his roommate asleep this morning at the XBox with his dick in his hand and posted his photo without obscuring his face owns this thread.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||05/25/2013|
r30, no the asshole that sent the Uncle's DL post to the craiglist ad beats the roommate pic. One was intentional.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||05/25/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 32||05/25/2013|
No, they wouldn't r27.
Either provide proof or shut the fuck up.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||05/25/2013|
The proof is your post, R33. You well adjusted individual, you.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/25/2013|
My actions were intentional. The consequences were unintentional.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/25/2013|
Let's just say I returned the favor.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/25/2013|
Now see, I think R28 is worse than the girl ruined.
She stole a phone, not your life!
|by Anonymous||reply 37||05/25/2013|
R37 Let it be known that when it comes to my phone I do not play. Brand new iPhone 4 straight after it was released and I had to pay that contract for 2 fucking years.
Moral of the story is not to quite obviously fuck with people who know you're bringing drugs to school and that you're dumb enough not to toss them when you're getting called to the school police officer.

I made my first husband overdose and commit suicide.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/25/2013|
Yes I have.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/25/2013|
Well, my hopes of getting my daughter to acknowledge her shortcomings was a complete failure. Carry on.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/25/2013|
I once played a mean practical joke on someone in high school who committed suicide a few months later. I often wonder if I contributed to his demise.

Sure did. Luvved doing it to.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/27/2013|
Absofuckinglutely. Highly recommend it. Much love to Stef Willen, Judge Gerald Rosenberg, Judge Richard Fruin, Allison Hart, Carmen Trutanich,Jeffrey Dunn,and John Gregozek for giving me just some of the tools.
Buy my book for more! It is called how to ruin lives in 7 easy steps.
It is set to be released in 2015 by Hilary Rodman of Ecco Press. It follows my four month long battle against utter obscurity and into the waiting arms of semi obscurity. Chapters on how to ruin lives, and get instantly free of cancer, will make you laff soooo hardddddd. Conan and Sarah Silverman laffed so hard. Sooo harddd.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/31/2013|
I have kids. Need I say more?

This thread is owned by Whitney Houston.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/31/2013|
Yes, a mix of intentional and unintentional. Unfortunately, ruining lives seemed to be a big part of a job I had. I was a fraud investigator for many years. The first time I watched a grown man break down and cry like a baby really shook me up. (Put aside the fact he had stolen over $250k.) I seriously thought about quitting. Flash forward 6 months and I would gladly sit in the room, and maybe search online for a nice restaurant for dinner, until they were able to pull themselves back together. Eventually, my lack of empathy is what made me leave the job.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/31/2013|
Ugh. Can someone please explain the Tig Notaro jokes?
|by Anonymous||reply 52||05/31/2013|
My lord, I just realized Tig Notaro is a female.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||05/31/2013|
No, and no one has that kind of power over anyone else.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||05/31/2013|
[quote] Let it be known that when it comes to my phone I do not play
How wonderful for you.

[quote]Let it be known that when it comes to my phone I do not play. Brand new iPhone 4 straight after it was released and I had to pay that contract for 2 fucking years.
The extraordinary pomposity of that first sentence deflates very quickly, doesn't it? We descend right into the gutter with the second.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||05/31/2013|
r53, she is very much a female. And, she is doing wonderfully without negative people like you. She has been featured in gay publications such as the village voice. Janexo did an interview with her as well, and the comments prove how popular she is everywhere but datalounge. Deal with IT.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||06/13/2013|
Yes. I was a drug addict and introduced the drug of choice to my then partner. I got clean... they did not and died. I think about it all of the time and feel guilty.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||06/13/2013|
If I ever did, I am unaware of it and it was wholly unintentional.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||06/13/2013|
I unintentionally did by acting happy for a friend when she was marrying a dope I knew was going to cheat on her. She's now devastated and even more damaged goods than when she started out. I was just happy she was no longer a booty call for guys seeking other women. She's so unlovable with raging BPD issues her dead father was the only man that will ever love her. She should try for a lesbian for they are so tolerant of quirks.
