[quote]Warner Bros’ The Hangover Part III co-financed with Legendary Pictures went wide in 3,555 North American theaters today and my sources say it opened to $11 million which includes Wednesday late shows and Thursday midnights. That’s miniscule compared to The Hangover Part II‘s Thursday opening of $31.6M - 3,615 locations on May 26, 2011 - which was the highest-grossing opening day ever for a live-action comedy. (H3‘s also is less than Thursday’s $13.5M debut a week ago for Star Trek Into Darkness.) Plus audiences only gave The Hangover Part III a ‘B’ CinemaScore compared to the ‘A-’ which the sequel scored. This threequel also scored even worse reviews (only 26% positive on Rotten Tomatoes) than H2 (34%) which was considered embarrassingly awful.
The Hangover Part 3 is Flopping

Enough with the sequels already!

If only. Who knows, the masses may just be holding off for the 3 day weekend, but I do know a lot of people who hated the 2nd one and loved the first who may not bother with the 3rd.
It would be hilarious if Fast and Furious 6 won the weekend.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||05/24/2013|
Star Trek certainly won't win the weekend. It probably won't even make the top 5.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||05/24/2013|
Good. Now can Zach Gabagheosehfkdnsgej and Bradley Cooper fuck off now.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||05/24/2013|
I think that's kind of normal for a third. I guess a lot of people didn't like the second film but I liked it. It made me laugh and it was a real adventure.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||05/24/2013|
The first one was so overhyped and so terrible. It didn't even make me smile and I have awful taste. I've enjoyed Adam Sandler movies more.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||05/24/2013|
the gay hater is putting down Star Trek...probably the same person who can't stand the Hangover films.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/24/2013|
Hate these homophobic films. Hate that fat fuck Zach whathisname and I hate overrated overexposed Bradley Cooper.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/24/2013|
Bradley Cooper should have as many plastic surgeries as it takes to make us forget his vanishing chin and ugly, ugly nose.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/24/2013|
Why pay $12-15 bucks to see a third retread in theaters when it will play endlessly on cable six months from now?
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/24/2013|
If ever there was a franchise that didn't deserve a trilogy, it's The Hangover. The Godfather, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings--those movies deserved trilogies.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||05/24/2013|
Of course, the Fast and Furious movie will win. Now, if even third-week-ender Gatsby could beat the Hangover, that would be funny!
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/24/2013|
Victory for the CGI giraffe!
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/24/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/24/2013|
Any film that contains LOTS of muscle cars, lots of action, and lots of barely dressed models dancing around to hip hop music at car shows is going to make major $$$$$$ at the boxoffice. It hits every conceivable, um, "quadrant".
|by Anonymous||reply 15||05/24/2013|
The Chinese guy is being heavily promoted in this film.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||05/24/2013|
r16 If you mean Ken Jeong he is Korean.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/24/2013|

A decapitated giraffe may have been too uncool for even the dumbest of frat boys.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||05/24/2013|
I am skipping it because of the giraffe scene. I would have seen it otherwise.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||05/24/2013|
Fast and Furious is going to beat it by a mile. Nikki is predicting $50 million for The Hangover and over $100 million for F&F.
And to compare, The Hangover 2 made over $80 million its opening weekend. So this one is a major disappointment. And to think they spent over a $100 million on this thing. For what exactly?
|by Anonymous||reply 21||05/24/2013|
You think giraffes are cheap?
|by Anonymous||reply 22||05/24/2013|
[quote]. And to think they spent over a $100 million on this thing. For what exactly?
Won't they make it all back and then some with the foreign release?
|by Anonymous||reply 23||05/24/2013|
This movie will still make a gigantic profit. It will do extremely well overseas.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||05/24/2013|
I thought the original Hangover was hysterical and I hate stupid comedies. Can't stand Sandler and those dam frat boy comedies.
The second one was darker and not as good.
I will probably see this last one since the weekend here in the Northeast is pretty much a washout weather wise.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||05/24/2013|
Wanted to like the first one but I just didn't, not much funny in there. I also am getting a little tired of the stupid straight White guy still acting like a teenager/college boy bullshit. Maybe somebody needs to go through the old comedy film vault and give some of them a twist and an update, mine the comedy gold.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||05/24/2013|
We'll see R24. Comedy doesn't travel well overseas usually though I think the first two did well. There's tons of action movies this summer which may be more appealing to foreigners too.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||05/24/2013|
For some reason I like straight guy fantasy films. Maybe I like to feel like a teen again?
|by Anonymous||reply 28||05/24/2013|
Fuck Hangover Part 3, I'm doing Star Trek Into Darkness a couple of more times this weekend!
|by Anonymous||reply 29||05/24/2013|
That tiny penised Asian man scares me.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||05/24/2013|
That Jeong guy is criminally unfunny and supposedly is the big focus of the movie. No thanks.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||05/24/2013|
I just saw it and it's not that good. Skip it and see "Mud" instead.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||05/24/2013|
Did they page Dr. Faggot again?
|by Anonymous||reply 33||05/24/2013|
Laughed my tush off at the first one. Hated the second one. Hated! Not bothering to see the third one. Doesn't one or more the guys die in H3? Better things to do w/ my 2 hrs.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/24/2013|
As of right now, Hangover 3 is at a measley 21% at Rotten Tomatoes, whereas Fast and Furious 6 is at a surprising 73%. Expect F&F6 to win the weekend big time.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/24/2013|
Ed Helms is a gay. Pass it on.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/24/2013|
I walked out of the first one.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||05/24/2013|
Me too r20!
|by Anonymous||reply 38||05/24/2013|
r37, I would've walked out, too, but I didn't want to be rude to my date, who was laughing his ass off. Needless to say, we didn't have another date.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||05/24/2013|
It barely beat out 2nd weekend Star Trek.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/26/2013|
Didn't like any of the 3. Fell asleep during the 1st one.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/26/2013|
R36, do you know for sure if Ed is gay? I've been thinking for a while that he might be.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/26/2013|
I liked the first two. I haven't seen the third.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/27/2013|
Is it flopping in the way actual human beings understand the term, or is it only flopping in Nikki "Schadenfreude" Finke terms (i.e. it's only slightly underperforming)?
|by Anonymous||reply 44||05/27/2013|
[quote] Is it flopping in the way actual human beings understand the term, or is it only flopping in Nikki "Schadenfreude" Finke terms (i.e. it's only slightly underperforming)?
Same thing! There's nothing more embarrassing than releasing a movie that doesn't break box office records, you slacker!
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/27/2013|
Why is this Bradley Cooper asshole EVERYWHERE lately??? The last 2 years you can't do anything without seeing or hearing about his plain looking ass.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/27/2013|
And a closeted actor in a movie with homophobic humor is so uncool, can't wait until he's outed.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/29/2013|
Hell, r47, who cares whether Bradley is straight or gay? If he had any kind of conscience, he could've refused to say the "Paging Dr. Faggot" line. It was repulsive.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/29/2013|
I actually liked it better than the second, still nothing special though.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/29/2013|
The Hangover movies really highlight what a terrible actor Cooper is.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/29/2013|
part 3 is actually kind of funny but in the end Im only watching to see if Cooper shows his hole.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||09/03/2014|
