What the fuck?
I-5 Bridge in Washington collapses; cars and bodies in river
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/24/2013|
That's an old bridge... hope the link works.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||05/23/2013|
U.S.A. - best damn infrastructure in the world!
|by Anonymous||reply 2||05/23/2013|
What was on their car stereos?
|by Anonymous||reply 3||05/23/2013|
'Bridge Over Troubled Waters' R5
|by Anonymous||reply 4||05/23/2013|
First, Minneapolis, now Washington.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||05/23/2013|
More like Waters Under Troubled Bridge.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||05/23/2013|
It's bridge under troubled waters now.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/23/2013|
How does the bridge to that song go?
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/23/2013|
KOMO-TV has the best live coverage
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/23/2013|
I don't think anyone is hurt
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/23/2013|
Ridiculous R10. The fall alone would have killed them.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||05/23/2013|
Then add the speed, steel and concrete....
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/23/2013|
Here's the link, since R9 decided to pointlessly comment on it, but not direct us to the live video.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/23/2013|
A bridge collapses in D.C and it't not on CNN? It didn't happen.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/23/2013|
false flag. also, weather machine caused a weakening of the bridge.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||05/23/2013|
Is that the main bridge which takes you towards Snoqualmie Falls and on to Spokane?
|by Anonymous||reply 16||05/23/2013|
It has begun.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/23/2013|
It's about 60 miles north of Seattle.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/23/2013|
The bridge isn't very high over the river and the river doesn't appear to be very deep (the cars aren't even submerged), so R10 is NOT being ridiculous.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||05/23/2013|
We don't need no stinkin' infrastructure!
|by Anonymous||reply 20||05/23/2013|
Death by a thousand budget cuts....
|by Anonymous||reply 21||05/23/2013|
Bellingham is now cut off from the USA. Will they demand Canada annex them?
|by Anonymous||reply 22||05/23/2013|
So... there was this bill in Congress, supported by Democrats and the President, which would have fixed this bridge (and hundreds, even thousands of others) before they collapsed -- far cheaper than a rush to replace a collapsed bridge -- and in the process would have created millions of jobs, and reduced the unemployment rate by at least one full percentage. And it was completely paid for (it wouldn't have increased the deficit a dime).
The Republicans filibustered and killed it. The House won't even vote on it.
BLAME THIS ON THE REPUBLICANS. MAKE NOISE. LET NOBODY FORGET WHO'S FAULT THIS IS.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||05/23/2013|
I hope they get the bodies out ASAP or this could really mess up the morning commute.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||05/23/2013|
No seriously. I am r 10. No one seems to be hurt. Lol at 22 who knows us oh so well
|by Anonymous||reply 25||05/23/2013|
Mt. Vernon (the site of the bridge) is Glenn Beck's hometown.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||05/23/2013|
OMG! I drove over that bridge in 1999! That could have been me!
|by Anonymous||reply 27||05/23/2013|
I've ridden across that bridge, and I have friends who cross that bridge regularly.
The fucking Republicans & Congress are playing with our lives and the lives of our friends and family... all to spite Obama and to give more money to the ultra-wealthy.
Vote those fucking treasonous assholes out in 2014!
|by Anonymous||reply 28||05/23/2013|
Hopefully, the new bridge will include a nice caftan around its bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||05/23/2013|
Obesity is no joke. Lose weight people, you're collapsing the infrastructure.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||05/23/2013|
Mount Vernon is also Jim Caviezel's home town.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||05/23/2013|
I can't stop crying!
|by Anonymous||reply 32||05/23/2013|
The 1-5 bridge is an insatiable bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||05/23/2013|
It would be nice to see people, our President especially, call out the politicians who blocked the bill to fix this bridge. It would be nice to see Obama get angry and put up a real fight against these assholes. Of course that won't happen. Nothing will happen. Everyone will forget and move on, as always.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/23/2013|
Is this why George fell out of the car?
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/23/2013|
Mt Vernon is also the hometown of Ross the Intern.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/23/2013|
Mt. Vernon is the home of the Sanka Lady.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||05/23/2013|
How long until Westboro Baptist blame it on WA states passing same sex marriage?
|by Anonymous||reply 38||05/23/2013|

Or it will be like Benghazi, the Republicans who voted against funding for increased embassy security are yelling the loudest about why the embassy wasn't protected. Our ineffectual president will sit around with his thumb up his butt and let them get their licks in.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||05/23/2013|
Even though I fully blame Republicans for cutting and blocking infrastructure repair spending that is vitally necessary... the fact that this bridge collapsed when an over-sized truck rammed into it, and that it wasn't on the list of bridges to be fixed means it'll be difficult to hang this around GOP necks like I so desperately want to.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/23/2013|
R23 nailed it!
FUCK YOU REPUBLI-CONS!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/24/2013|
Democrats should be bringing up the infrastructure and jobs bills all weekend long.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/24/2013|
When I read about this at 5am this morning, Ichecked Google Maps and found the map had already been updated to show the discontinuity on the Interstate.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/24/2013|
Unfortunately we can't blame this one on the Repukes..but the truck driver with the oversized load and the trucking company will be put out of business over this.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||05/24/2013|
It's collapse is complete, it will never be president.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/24/2013|
1 down, 69,999 to go.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/24/2013|
Isn't this what our gasoline taxes are supposed to pay for?
What are they spending all that money on?
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/24/2013|
Gasoline taxes don't keep bridges standing when their support beams are hit by a truck carrying an oversized load, R47.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/24/2013|
But we have to build bridges in Iraq! And Afghanistan!
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/24/2013|
Since Republicans think they can blame all of Bush's failures on Obama, along with a whole lot of other things that Obama has had nothing to do with... I think I'll continue to just loudly blame this on Republicans in Congress.
Turn-about is fair play, right?
STUPID FUCKING REPUBLICANS CAUSED THIS BRIDGE COLLAPSE WITH THEIR STUPID OBSTRUCTION AND LIES!
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/24/2013|
Not far anymore, r8.
